themes: mine

We’ve seen stories told through the male prism a lot. Men are not all that smart. We tend to want to kill each other all the time, so it’s nice to finally have a fresh, female perspective with important themes. To have a female superhero story that is about love and compassion and nurturing of life than the opposite is very important. At the heart of the movie, it’s about people falling in love and being passionate and being heroic. It’s a great lesson for everyone to learn instead of other movies where shit is blowing up all the time.

headcanon: the reason Kara doesn’t seem to know what Lena’s talking about when she’s telling her about sciency stuff is because she learnt all of it in Kryptonian and hasn’t had the chance to learn the English translations for all the concepts she learnt about on Krypton, so when Lena says ‘quantum entanglement’ Kara has no idea what she’s talking about, but one day she asks Lena to explain it to her and immediately recognises it as something she’d learnt about on Krypton then tries to explain it to Lena not knowing the actual terms for many of the things. Lena is fascinated by what Kara is saying, realising she’s talking of concepts no one on earth had even considered yet and decides to teach Kara all the English terminology allowing Kara to put her genius into words.
