theme: little things

I don’t know if it’s me, but I think that when they showed that clip of the boys singing Little Things, Harry’s face changed. It could be imperceptible, but his face changed.

He became so serious

And he went from this serious face

To this adorable, little, hidden smile (it seems like he’s looking at Louis here, as always)

I honestly don’t even know where I’m going with this post, but I think this song has always meant something to Harry and Louis. It’s always been ‘his little things’ to Harry, he’s always sung it to and for Louis. I don’t know, I think it’s like a sacred song to him, to them, one of those songs they chose for themselves, for their story. And his face, the way he watched that clip, says it all.

I love unmade beds. I love when people are drunk and crying and cannot be anything but honest in that moment. I love the look in people’s eyes when they realize they’re in love. I love the way people look when they first wake up and they’ve forgotten their surroundings. I love the gasp people take when their favorite character dies. I love when people close their eyes and drift to somewhere in the clouds. I fall in love with people and their honest moments all the time. I fall in love with their breakdowns and their smeared makeup and their daydreams. Honesty is just too beautiful to ever put into words.

Someone once told me to always live for the little things in life. Live for 5am sunrises and 5pm sunsets where you’ll see colours in the sky that don’t usually belong. Live for road trips and bike rides with music in your ears and the wind in your hair.

Live for days when you’re surrounded by your favourite people who make you realise that the world is not a cold, harsh place. Live for the little things because they will make you realise that this is what life is about, this is what it means to be alive.

Apps to keep your self on track

❤️ Forest : plant a tree and it grows, but only if you keep the app open. Stops you from wasting time on your phone. If you need to work on something you can plant a tree and then you won’t go on your phone

❤️ My Water : a simple water tracker that is easy to use. Enter your weight and how much you work out and it will calculate how much water you need. Then you simply add your water and it fills your screen throughout the day. It will send you notifications and remind you to drink water.

❤️ Reminders : comes pre downloaded. Add things that you need to get done and when you want to be reminded of them. Once you’ve finished check it off. I especially like that the notification doesn’t go away by unlocking your phone. So if the notification goes off and you open your phone to text someone and lock your phone again, the notification is still there. You can also set up locational reminders, so if you need to remember to let the dog out, you could set up a reminder to do so to go off when you are near your house.

❤️ calendar : comes pre downloaded. Put in any appointments, meetings, test dates, important deadlines, birthdays, practices, or any other days or activities you can’t miss. You can set it up so the app will send you a notification when the date approaches.

❤️ Your banks app : Lots of banks have apps. These allow you to check your balance at anytime. Check your app before you head into a store to help prevent over spending.

❤️ balanced : this is a ‘to do’ style app. Input things you want to make sure get done on a regular basis such as work out, how many times a day, week, or month you want to get this thing done. The app will send you a notification when you have been slacking and not filling it out. The free version of this app only allows you to put in five tasks, but you can have unlimited tasks when you upgrade.

❤️ clue : this is a simply, classy, and effective period tracker. It’s not frilly and pink like many of the other ones. After about six cycles it is very accurate. It comes with lots of tags you can chose from depending on what you want to track. It has things like blood level, pain, mood, productivity, motivation, sleep, energy and more. You can also add custom tags so you can track anything.

❤️ bear : this is a note app. You could also use the notes app but I like this one. It allows you to create lists or any other notes and operates very similarly to any word processor, but it is much easier to use. I love the ability to add check boxes. It is great for to do lists and you can check it off rather than just deleting it like you would have to do on the regular notes app. Checking things off a list is good because you allows you to see how much you have accomplished rather than focusing on how much is left to do.

These are iOS apps, and all are free. I’m not sure if they are available on other operating systems
