their opinions are the only ones that matter

anonymous asked:

What's your opinion on marriage?

In my opinion, marriage is so so so precious. The vows are basically a pinky promise so like you know what that means, there’s no going back once you break a pinky promise ay.

Marriage is wanting to spend a lifetime with someone you love and no one else, it’s a bond of loyalty, trust and commitment to being beside that one person no matter what.

Like just imagine someone wanting to spend the rest of their life with you and only you??? How amazing would that feel. Being surrounded by everyone you love while you say your vows and have that first kiss as a married couple, looking at your ring every day and being reminded of the best day of your life? Like hell yes give me that, give me all of it.

Law Unto Themselves (5/??)

Summary: Heiji has to wait to find out whether the guns en-route to Osaka made it. Dark!AU where the good guys are the bad guys, and vice versa.

[Beginning]     [Previous Chapter]

They call him Kudo’s dog.

Not that Hattori Heiji really minds what others call him, especially when they’re just criminals awaiting prison time, but there’s an element of annoyance that just makes him want to lash out. Instead of being a right hand man, he’s likened to an animal, and frankly, Heiji doesn’t want to prove them right.

The only one person who’s opinion matters within the criminal underworld, is Kudo’s.

And after that, in the every day world, there’s only two additional opinions that hold any sway over him.

Bam, bam!”

So apparently MEA isn’t getting any DLC. Hmm…

*remembers that Reyes’ cave scene with a male Ryder that still has a diverting camera*

*remembers Gil’s unapologetic dumpster fire of a story and Jill’s nasty ass*

*remembers Jaal’s Bi content being cut, then reintroduced without apology and ignorance to the issue at hand*

*remembers the absolute clusterfuck of the Devs’ communication to us through Twitter*

That’s without mentioning the fisheyed graphics of release, the mountains of bugs, and the limited CC that only got slightly better.

It’s the mother of unpopular opinions, but I’m not coddling my words against Bioware and EA on this matter. The tag is buzzing with fans claiming people like me are why MEA failed, when that’s just an excuse for sub par content across the board.

Maybe the break between producing Anthem and Dragon Age 4 can give Bioware distance from MEA. Maybe. But this whole thing has been a huge lesson to me in hindsight, one I won’t be repeating if we ever get MEA2.

I hope these quotes inspire you too!

Dear Chairman.
I am disappointed by your decision to press charges, but I am not surprised. My only hope is that the courts will see the matters differently than you have. You see, I never had the chance to serve in battle, nor did fate provide me the opportunity to sacrifice myself for humanity as it did for so many others in the Great War. Someone extremely dear to me was lost very early in my life. My mind has always plagued me with the question, if the choice had been placed in my hands, could I have saved her? The memory of her, has haunted me my entire life, and moreso in these last few years than I could ever have imagined. But given the events of these past few weeks, I feel confident that had I been given the chance, I would have made those sacrifices myself. Had I only the chance.
I know that you disagreed with my methods, and that others will as well. This is beyond my control. However, I cannot imagine that any court, would be able to convict me, no matter how low their opinion of my actions might be. You must understand one basic fact for all this to make sense my dear Chairman. These A.I., they all come from somewhere; they are all based on a person. Our Alpha, was no exception. And while the law has many penalties for the atrocities we inflict on others, there are no punishments for the terrors that we inflict on ourselves. So you send your men. They won’t find themselves a fight. They’ll only find an old man. An old man tired, but satisfied he did his duty. An old man weary from a mind more filled with memory, than it is with hope.
Sincerely yours, the former director of Project Freelancer, Doctor Leonard Church.

I was just watching CNN as they discussed the Pepsi commercial backlash.

My favorite part? Immediately after they first played the clip, everyone just sat in awkward silence and kind of just laughed at the absurdity that Kendall’s can of Pepsi solved police brutality.

Least favorite part? Symone Sanders (top right) make a beautiful point that Pepsi co-opted Black Lives Matter while placing a white woman at the FOREFRONT when it is black women and men putting their bodies on the line. Afterwords, Paris Dennard (bottom left - a man that CNN likes to pull out of the sunken place from time to time to be the token self hating black man) had to speak over her to assert that “we can’t say black lives matter is only for black people.”

And no one called him out on how grossly he missed the original point. Everyone gets so upset at the suggestion that white people aren’t allowed to own *everything* that they’ll gladly lay the bodies of people of color down to get stepped on. And opinions like his are always heralded as the “logical” one that gets the last word.

I would recommend any watch the clip just to hear Symone Sanders take the video & Kendell to task: https://twitter.com/cnntonight/status/849470715304828929

Writing Antagonists: (Aka, Your Villains and Bad Guys)

The antagonist is often either one of the most fun things to write, or the most dreaded. But either way, they are a key element of the story, and that cannot be ignored. So, let’s talk about how to make a really great antagonist.

You may have in the past met a writer or teacher or whomever who insists on using the words “protagonist and antagonist” over words like “hero and villain.” Personally, I am not so stingy about it, I feel that I know what you mean anyway so it doesn’t really matter- what there is a legitimate reason as to why you should at least try to think of your villain as your antagonist instead.

And that reason is connotation. Well, denotation too, really- villain and antagonist aren’t completely the same thing, but I’m bringing it down to connotation.

Simply said, when you think of the word “villain”, you’ll think something like “that’s the bad guy in the story.” And when you think of the “antagonist”, you probably think “that’s a fancy word for villain, aka the bad guy in the story.”

But antagonist isn’t just a fancy word. It’s a fancy concept. It means “the guy that opposes the good guy.” That can be on any argument or view. When writing your antagonist is to remember that nothing is black/white, good/bad thinking, and that includes your antagonist.

Let’s map out the steps to making a complex villain- aka, an antagonist.

First, remember that your antagonist (usually) is a person, just like your protagonist. It might help to develop them outside of their intentions first, and put a person to the upcoming reputation.

Background:

Chances are, your antagonist didn’t just rise up out of the ground ready to kill. They came from somewhere. Your readers don’t even have to know everything about your antag’s backstory, but you do, if you want to really understand them. It often holds the key reason as to why your antagonist is where they are. The drive behind anger, revenge, change, or pleasing someone else can come from the events in their background.

Why do they hold the beliefs they hold? Were they raised that way? Were they taught by some mentor figure? Were they cover from a reality they couldn’t bear? Are they trying to please someone, or get revenge on someone who displeased them? The answer should be in their background.

Motives/Beliefs:

Remember, every villain is a hero in their own mind. They believe that what they are doing is necessary, even if they recognize that it is unpleasant. What are they fighting for? Why does it matter to them so much, that they are willing to overlook all the harm they do?

“The Greater Good”: This is one of the more common and understandable villain motives. They believe that what they are doing now is paving the way to a better future. But keep in mind that what your antag views as a “better future” may be very, very different than the average opinion. Maybe a “better future” for them is a genocidal purge or the world ending in flames. Who knows.

That’s not the only type of motive. Be creative. Work with the information you established in your character’s background to find the most reasonable motive.

Tipping Point:

This is going to be related to your background and motive in an interesting way. Think of your antagonist as a character who has already completed their Character Arc and reached a negative end. Look at the points of change on the character arc- the ones that push your character farther down their path. What are those events? Those are the tipping points that prompted your character towards becoming they way they are now- those key moments where your character had a choice, and they chose to become bitter, hateful, vengeful, cold, or other negative things.

These could be the deaths of loved ones, the promptings of a mentor, or a moment of injustice that made them realize that the world isn’t always kind.

Personality/Actions:

This is the part where you develop them outside of their intentions. How do they behave?

It’s tempting to just say that your villain is a villain because they torture and kill people. But those are not the only things that make a villain a scary or serious threat. Some characters might jump to violence easier than others. Some might be more into psychological torment. Some might actually seem really charming or persuasive, which is frightening in it’s own way- they might actually be tricky enough to confuse you into making bad decisions on your own. Think about your character’s background again. What makes the most sense for them as a person?

Presentation:

This is how your antagonist comes across to others. Keep in mind that your reader and your other characters don’t know your antagonist like you do. How does this person present to the world?

-Are they open to discussion/negotiation?

-Are they open about their intentions?

-How quick are they to violence?

-What are their methods of war?

-When you meet them, are they charismatic, quiet, charming, vulgar? Do they have a sense of humor, or are they stoic?

-Do they seem to enjoy what they are doing, or do they express regrets even as they do it?

Moral Complexity:

What are they willing to do to achieve their goals? Do they have weaknesses in their personal lives?

1. Do they have noble ends behind their controversial means?

2. Is there a line even they won’t cross?

3. Do they have someone/something that they care about?

4. Do they prefer to do the killing/torturing etc themselves or do they just give the order?

Remember that if your antagonist does have any of these moral weaknesses, they are not going to want to show it. One has to keep up intimidating appearances, after all.

Speaking of appearances…

Appearance:

This part is here to tell you what not to do. There are certain appearances that are getting really old with villains.

1. Dressing in all black. Why do they even do that? It’s time to stop associating black with “bad” and white with “good”. It just isn’t like that, so stop making villains all dark and stuff.

2. Scars. I think scars are pretty cool, don’t get me wrong. But if there is no relevant reason for it to be there, don’t talk about it all the time. That goes for all characters, not just villains. Like the color black, scars are not just a villain thing. Everyone has them. Don’t associate them with “bad.”

3. Sexy. I get the idea that making a villain attractive makes them harder to hate, but that can be kind of a cop out of actual complexity. Again, if there is no legitimate reason to make your villain sexy, then don’t. It’s not necessary.

4. Ugly. I hesitate to call any traits inherently ugly, but if you’re striving to make your character unpleasant looking just because they’re bad, then once again, you are associating feature=evil, which is not creative at best and seriously socially harmful at worst.

Basically, your villains should be just as diverse as anyone else. You don’t need stereotypes to make them scary. Sometimes it’s scarier than anything else to just have an average person. It sort of adds to the idea that anyone could be a villain. And that’s pretty frightening.

Key Point:

- Complicate your villains. They’re not just Evil McEvilpants.

That’s it for now, but like anything else in writing, antagonists have a lot of possibility and exceptions. But that was your basic rundown on the things to consider when making a complicated antagonist.

A Slytherin/Hufflepuff friendship would include...

• Standing up for each other no matter what
• “Mess with them, mess with me.“
• Sitting on each other’s tables in the Great Hall
• At first you received some strange looks, but now everyone is used to it
• Swapping ties sometimes to confuse people
• Hanging out in the dungeons
• Hanging out in the kitchens
• Knowing all the passwords for your common rooms
• Occasionally telling the wrong password for a joke, and watching as they get locked out of your common room
• "Need some help there?”
• SO MUCH SMIRKING
• Being the closest of friends ever
• Having people be so jealous of you both
• Being literal friend goals
• Teaching each other the fundamentals of being in your respective houses
• "You’re like a cinnamon roll, how in Merlin’s name.“
• "And you.. well you’re… I mean, you’re nice too… sometimes… when you want to be…”
• Bickering now and then
• But only because you love each other
• Missing each other so much when you’re in lessons
• Watching the clock and willing time to go faster
• "I thought I’d never see you again!“
• "You saw me like an hour ago.”
• Being like iconic duos on tv shows
• You’re so different but compliment each other so well
• Having other friends in your own houses
• But preferring each other’s company to anyone else’s
• Getting each other’s opinions before doing literally a n y t h i n g
• Just always being there for one another
• No matter what
• Through the good times and bad
• Because you’re the best of friends
• Singing dramatic duets in your common rooms, to the amusement of others
• Always laughing
• Or smiling
• Whenever one of you is feeling down, the other knows exactly how to make things better
• Whether that be a long talk, food or cuddles
• Being the most important person in each other’s lives
• Meeting at King Cross Station every year
• Sitting with each other on the Hogwarts Express, though people sometimes stare
• Teaching first years the importance of inter-house friendships
• And showing that Slytherins and Hufflepuffs can be friends
• Because despite their differences
• Ultimately they’re better together

Yes, I’m in a same-sex relationship. But please don’t call me a lesbian.

When my partner was newly pregnant, we began interviewing midwives and took what has become for us a normal precaution: Before meeting with the one we liked best, we sent her an email introducing ourselves and our relationship. Still, one of the first things she said to us when we sat down was, “Just so you know, I’m very comfortable with lesbians.”

The thing is: we’re not lesbians.

That’s what we’d emailed her about. I’m a bisexual woman and my partner is a genderqueer butch. I opened my mouth to gently redirect her — something else we’ve gotten used to — but she was already two stanzas into a soliloquy about how she used to go on an all-women camping retreat with all her lesbian friends back in the 90s. I gritted my teeth: She was trying so hard to prove that she was Cool With The Gays that she spoke over us and it’s frustrating to tell someone who I am and have them correct me.

In a way, I get it: I am very visibly queer. You can’t miss it. I’m queer in that “I went to Massachusetts to get married when it wasn’t legal in Colorado” kind of way. My queer relationship and my queer family and my queer haircut are front and center, all the time. The number of pairs of Doc Martens I own is only exceeded by the number of Indigo Girls concerts I have been to. I’m, like, so gay, dude.

But that doesn’t make me a lesbian. And when I’m called one — and especially when I’m called one after identifying myself as bi — I’m reminded that how other people perceive me matters more than how I identify myself. By now, it’s difficult to imagine having my relationship and my identity simultaneously treated as valid. Read more (Opinion)

You didn’t mean to say it on live TV like that…but…The nerves of those people !

It was common knowledge that you didn’t particularly held journalists in your heart.

Some would say it was because any form of media in Gotham was OBSESSED with your family, and you hated the attention you all constantly got.

If you cut your hair, it’d be in the paper, if your sons were spotted hanging out in town, it’d be in the paper, if you and Bruce did something, it’d be in the paper…with ridiculous titles too : “The heir of the Wayne fortune are turning into delinquents !” when all they did was skateboarding around town. “Bruce Wayne and (Y/N) Wayne about to divorce ?” just because Bruce arrived later than you at a gala…So stupid.

Yes, some would say it was because they constantly tried to find a scandal about your family but others…like your husband, would say it was because he used to date a few of those journalists women. And yeah, it was true he did “date” some of those women but, this wasn’t why you disliked journalists.

And Bruce knew it, he’d just tease you with it sometimes to try and relax you because some douchebag wrote lies in the papers about your family…

You knew by marrying Bruce that it would be like that, that you’d always be the center of attention and honestly, when it was just about you ? Or even Bruce ? It was alright. Both of you could handle it.

But when it touched your children ? Oh no. No. And no.

And so, tonight, as someone made a comment about your youngest son..you kinda lost it. And you could already see the title of every articles and such that’ll come out the next day :

“(Y/N) Wayne loses it on live TV”

But this was too much. Your boy already struggled with this at school, he didn’t need it everywhere else…How did they even hear about it anyway ?

Uh…Who were you kidding ? They were journalists, of course they would have heard about your little outburst at Gotham Academy…

Rose - ((Tom Holland)) Peter Parker x Reader | 3rd Person

Prompt: (soulmate au where: after you meet your soulmate, whatever they draw or write on themselves will also appear on you) During class, a poorly-drawn rose appears on Peter’s forearm, letting him know that he has met his soulmate.

a/n: soulmate aus: overdone yet not done enough. DAY 7!! HOMECOMING COMES OUT TODAY!! i’m insanely proud of both tom and zendaya (my two loves) and i’m so excited to see the movie! but i’m super busy this weekend/today so i have to wait until next week to see it :( so nO SPOILERS! and i want to thank all of you guys who read all the imagines for all 7 days and the support has been insane, so thank you so fucking much you guys rock.

(Y/N) didn’t believe she would find her soulmate. Though he was probably out there, she may not ever meet him. Most of her friends had not yet met their soulmate, but there were a lucky few who were so happy it made (Y/N) sick.

Even having met her fair share of guys, (Y/N) wanted to focus more on her schoolwork over finding love. Though meeting that special someone was always in the back of her mind, she knew that the chances were slim that he went to her high school. Besides, getting into a good college should be a bigger priority over obsessing to find a soulmate.

She sat in the back of a boring history class, and nobody was paying attention to the video being played. Even the teacher had decided to go on their phone over watching the dull documentary. (Y/N) was laying her head down on the desk, bored out of her mind, and decided to pull out a red pen.

Clicking the pen, (Y/N) sloppily started doodling a rose on her upper forearm. The red rose was poorly drawn and messy, but she was proud of it. The rose was simple and plain and she liked it, so she just left it as it was. (Y/N) put her pen back into her bag, and focused her attention back to the uninteresting video.

In a different classroom, Peter sat in the back of his science class next to his friend. His sleeve was rolled down to his wrists, and he felt something on his upper forearm. Pulling his sleeve up, he saw a rose on. It looked as if it were made of red pen, and it seemed to have been drawn carelessly, yet there was something about it that was strangely pretty.

His eyes widened and Peter quickly showed it to his friend, who was excited for Peter. Peter was both happy and extremely anxious. He asked his friend what to do, which we only got an “I don’t know” in response.

Peter walked home after the bell rang, still confused over what exactly he should do. There was a girl out there, who drew a rose on her arm, and didn’t even know that he saw it. After reaching his apartment, he sat down at his desk and looked at the rose. Finally deciding what to do, he picked up a sharpie and wrote on his arm. I like the rose he wrote simply. Peter hoped whoever she was, saw it.

Sitting on her bed, (Y/N) felt something on her arm. She looked at her arm and saw the words “I like the rose” in a sloppy handwriting. (Y/N)’s eyes widened in surprise, she never expected to meet her soulmate this early.

Though she knew that having a soulmate must be nice, she thought she wasn’t ready for the type of life-long commitment that came with it. (Y/N) ran into her bathroom and scrubbed off the words. She would write back when she was ready, and for now, she wasn’t.

It’s been a week since Peter’s soulmate had drawn the rose, and since then he was determined to find out who she was. The girl would never respond when he wrote, and she hadn’t drawn anything since.

Deciding that the day was hot compared to most days in New York, the majority of girls wore short-sleeves. Peter quickly came up with a plan simple enough to find out if his soulmate went to his school. He was planning to draw a large dot on his arm in bright red ink so it would stand out on any skin tone.

Later that day, he saw a girl walk by him with a red dot on her arm. He quickly scrambled to see who the girl was, and it was (Y/N). He had met her once, she sat in front of him in their math class. Having his first, real look at the girl, he noticed that she was really pretty. Her smile was warm, and her laugh was genuine.

He went home that day, happy to know who his soulmate was. Once in his room, he got out his marker and wrote on his arm, deciding to have fun with the newfound knowledge. Peter simply wrote the words Hey (Y/N).

(Y/N) looked at her arm to see what it would now say, and she was shocked to see what was written. She wondered how he had figured out, but decided that there was no use in hiding anymore. She wrote a small Hey back and waited to see where it would take her.

Another week later, (Y/N) and her soulmate had become somewhat close. They talked for long periods of time so both of their arms were covered in ink, but (Y/N) still didn’t know who he was. He had given clues, but she still remained clueless.

Peter hadn’t told (Y/N) who he was yet for two reasons. For one, he was scared of what she would think. In his opinion, she was extremely out of his league; smart, funny, pretty were only a few things people could use to describe her. The second reason was just that he liked the mystery of it, but that was all going to change.

(Y/N) had agreed to meet her soulmate at a coffee shop nearby their school. She was anxious, but she knew that no matter who he may be, she was happy. He seemed really funny and smart, and she was happy to finally be able to meet him.

Showing up to the cafe, (Y/N) ordered a coffee and sat at a table near the front window. She looked down at her phone and scrolled through her Instagram feed, waiting for who her soulmate would be.

A tap on her shoulder sent her bolting upright. In front of her stood Peter Parker, holding a rose. She smiled widely and ran out of her chair. Immediately hugging him, causing them both to laugh. He handed her the rose, and when (Y/N) gave him a confused look, he said, “It was the first thing that you drew on yourself that got drawn on me.”

(Y/N) took the rose and smiled, starting a conversation. The two talked for hours, and when it got late (Y/N) looked at him and said, “I’m glad that out of all the people that could’ve been my soulmate, it was you. I mean, there are loads of assholes that go to our school, and even though you’re kind of a dork, you’re my dork.”

Peter laughed and pretended to be offended, “Well, excuse me! At least I’m not a loser like you!”

(Y/N) smiled again, she hadn’t stopped smiling since the start of the date and her cheeks ached, “But in all seriousness, I’m glad you’re my soulmate,” she said honestly.

He beamed at her and said, “I’m glad you’re my soulmate, too.”

Do you think on the ride home Dean took off his flannel and made Cas put it on to replace his bloody shirt?

“I really am alright, Dean. You don’t need to sit back here with me.”

Dean ignores Castiel’s reassurances, just like he has been ignoring them for the last fifteen minutes.

Dean?

“Cork it, Cas! Mom’s drivin’, Sam’s shotgun, and I’m back here with you, makin’ sure you’re really holdin’ it together. That’s just the way it’s gonna be so stop tryin’ to fight me on it!”

Both Mary and Sam give each other wide-eyed looks, but stay quiet—knowing that Dean is still processing everything that had happened back in the barn. He’s still drowning in the feeling of being out of control, and it’s driving him absolutely nuts.

“Here, Ma” Dean grunts, shoving the Impala’s keys at the woman and then turning back to tend to his angel.

She swiftly nods and takes the keys before ushering her other son around the far side of the car—and then, all at once, they climb in to join Castiel, who has already been carefully placed in the backseat by Dean’s steady hands.

“Does it hurt anywhere?” Dean asks—slightly calmer now but his voice still has a rattle to it.

“No, Dean. I’m feeling fine—just like I said before.”

“Well, you don’t look fine. You’re kinda pale. Sam, doesn’t he look pale to you?”

Sam turns around and gives Cas a sympathetic look before shrugging silently at his older brother, knowing that his opinion doesn’t really matter right now anyway.

“Yeah, see—Sam thinks so. You should lean back a bit.”

“These seats don’t recline, Dean.”

Dean frowns at him. “Then scoot down a little! Jesus, Cas … I’m just tryin’ to make sure you’re okay!”

“I am okay … I have already told you—”

“Scoot down, Castiel!” Mary grits  firmly from the front of the car—glaring at him through the rearview mirror, eyes flicking back and forth between the angel and her eldest son.

He wants to protest again, but then Castiel nods, finally understanding that the only one not fine right now, is Dean, and doing what he asks—no matter how pointless it is, will make him feel a little better … a little more useful. Cas scoots down in his seat.

Dean smiles, happy that his friend is finally listening to him. “Alright then … better?”

Castiel stops himself from rolling his eyes. “Yes … better.”

The proud smirk that immediately graces Dean’s face seems to trim away the tension in the car—until the moment that the folds of Cas’s coat fall away, exposing the dirty, blood-stained white button up beneath. “Oh … shit, man! That looks bad!” the man yelps as soon as he sees it.

Castiel squints and cocks his head to the side, finally following Dean’s eyes down to where the usually clean looking garment, is now a tattered mess strewn about his body. “Oh. Yes, well … I can just—” Cas begins, already lifting his hand to will the mess away, but he stops mid motion—cutting the magic short because the man beside him is starting to fidget in his seat. “Dean? What are you …”

Dean teeters back and forth, wriggling from side to side in the confined space until he finally manages to free one of his arms from the black coat and plaid overshirt that he’s wearing.

“Hold on … almost …” Dean soon rocks all the way over until his head is practically in Cas’s lap—but he doesn’t seem to notice because he’s too focused on freeing his other hand. “There!” he yelps victoriously, finally holding up the plaid shirt for everyone in the car to see.

Sam nods and Mary holds back a chuckle, and Cas just continues to stare at the man—confused and slightly annoyed by everything that he’s doing.

“Okay, Cas. Your turn” Dean says after another moment, eventually turning happy eyes back on the angel.

“My turn?” Cas asks, feeling suddenly nervous about what he’s expected to do.

“Yep” Dean chirps, looking Castiel up and down with a long pull. “Strip and put this on.” He holds the flannel out towards him, but he doesn’t hand it to the angel just yet, as if he’s planning on dressing him himself … and at this point, Cas wouldn’t be surprised if that’s what Dean had in mind.

“Dean …” Castiel grumbles again, now—rolling his eyes for all to see. “You realize that I can fix this, don’t you?”

Dean only grips the shirt tighter in his hand.

“I am an angel … I have the power to—”

“Just put on the damn shirt!” All three Winchesters bark in unison.

And that makes the angel finally throw up his hands in defeat. “Alright!” he exclaims, quickly sitting straight and leaning forward so that he can work his body free from his coat. But before he can completely shimmy it off, Dean’s hands are on him, fiddling with the buttons of Cas’s dirty white shirt. “Um … what are you doing?”

Helping” Dean snaps, but his cheeks are turning red and his hands are starting to shake against the angel’s chest.

Cas stares at him a moment, and then up to the front of the car where Sam and Mary are vehemently avoiding eye contact with anything but the road. So he turns back, just as Dean undoes the final button and pushes the cloth aside, displaying every inch of Castiel’s unmarred skin.

The man then stills for some time—never looking away and holding his breath until the second Castiel is finally able to speak.

You see, Dean … I’m all healed.”

Dean quirks up the side of his mouth, but his face quickly falls flat again, while his eyes bounce away and back several times, seeming torn as to where to look now.

After that, it only takes another minute for Cas to slip out of the ruddy, old shirt and into Dean’s flannel—and for the first time since they left the barn, Dean doesn’t interfere, nor do Mary and Sam act like anything is happening just behind their heads. In fact, the frenzied tone of their drive has seemed to mellow, and even Dean appears to have settled down; although, his hands still twitch with the need for something to do … which doesn’t go unnoticed by the angel at his side.

Castiel sighs, flicking his eyes down towards the soft plaid that’s now draped over his own shoulders—the fabric is warm and smells like Dean; so just as he begins to fasten the last two buttons, he purposely skips one—so the thing is now bunching up across his stomach. “There” he confirms, drawing Dean’s focus back to the task at hand, and of course—Dean notices the mistake instantly.

“Ah—jeez, Cas … you’re helpless, ya know that?” Dean mutters with a smile, reaching over eagerly to straighten out the buttons and get them all in the right order.

But Castiel just smiles too, taking the moment to take in the worried Winchester—his charge, his family … a man that he loves—and he nods. “You’re right. What would I do without you?”

Okay yall real talk, something bad's going on with Star vs the forces of evil right now.

Basically, what’s going on is that Disney apparently is trying to errase the episode Collateral damage/Just friends. They are not planing to show it during their current season 2 rerun and pulled it off of their website. The thing here is that this episode in particular shows three same sex couple kissing during a concert and this treatment hasn’t been given to *any* other episode.

Now it’s to note that the creators *are not* responsible for this actions but the blame lies fully on Disney. Please do not harass any of them since Disney prevents them to truthfully talk about their opinions on that matter without risking being fired.

This episode is not only a huge accomplishment for lgbt representation in childrens media but also is extremely important for the show in total. It also contains a original song segment which is one of the hardest things to make in animation and literary took monthes for the team to do.

Please spread the word about this injustice and let Disney know how upsetting their actions are by using the hashtag #justiceforstar

Don’t let homophobic attitudes destroy the labor of love this entire episode clearly was!

EDIT: The episodes are back completely unedited! It’s still unclear what exactly Disney’s reasoning for their behavior was but the episodes aired yesterday unedited on Disney XD! I am not sure about the website though. Either way as of now it’s no longer necessary to contact Disney, if something like that happens again I will update you guys as soon as possible!

Shipping discourse honestly could be avoided entirely with these simple steps:

1. If you ship a ship that may possibly trigger anyone or that people have expressed they are uncomfortable with, please tag appropriately. Better yet, put the ship name and any warnings in the actual post (possibly in a disclaimer) so even if others reblog and don’t tag, blacklist should still notice it.

2. If a ship makes you uncomfortable for any reason, don’t follow those who ship it, blacklist the ship name and any content warnings for things that make you uncomfortable or trigger you, and perhaps block those who are often making content for said ship if you don’t wish to see their posts in the searches or tags. Xkit and Tumblr Savior, as well as Tumblr’s own block feature, are very useful tools. Use them.

3. Similarly, if you do ship it, you can follow the same steps for avoiding those who don’t and are vocal about it.

4. You can post your opinion against the ship on your blog. That is fine. However, put slashes through the ship name if you mention it (both in the post itself and in the tags) so that it doesn’t show up in the search where the fans of said ship will be browsing in hopes to see more content of that ship. They are not, ever, in a million years, hoping to see your negative opinion while looking for content. Same goes for using the tags they use.

5. If someone expresses they are uncomfortable with a ship, do not press the matter. Do not bug them until they give you a reason (that reason could be trauma that the ship reminds them of and they, under no circumstances, are required to reveal that information to you). Do not intentionally send them it. Do not push it on them. Do not expect them to possibly cater to you and your wants just because you do happen to like it. You would not like the same done to you.

6. If someone does ship a ‘problematic’ ship, they are not obligated to give you a reason in order for their shipping of said content to be ‘acceptable.’ Again, past trauma may be involved and they are not required to give you that information under any circumstances. You may trigger them. Don’t press it.

7. Do not target specific blogs or vague about others that have the opposing opinion of you in regards to a ship. Or anything, for that matter. It’s not only rude but crossing a line. You want them to respect you and your boundaries? Respect theirs.

8. Do not throw around serious accusations/insults like ‘pedophile’ or ‘abuse apologist’. For one, what someone ships does not at all mean they condone any problematic content involved in real life. Secondly, you may be throwing shade that could very well be related to past trauma (ie calling a csa survivor a pedophile) and that could cause flashbacks and/or panic attacks. That’s not cool at all. Have some human decency.

9. If a ship is generally considered bad by the fandom and you create content of it, please attempt to avoid using the general character tags. If unavoidable (like with the case of fic, where the character names are likely to come up) please be sure to put warnings in your post and try to make it as easy to blacklist as possible.

10. Do not intentionally seek out drama from people on the opposing side. Do not intentionally try to start shit or go after anyone over it. I would think this would be obvious, but it apparently isn’t. No matter your side on the matter, this is unacceptable and only makes others on your side look bad and take away from the credibility of your opinions. It also will make people less inclined to care about your side of the matter and won’t really benefit you in the long term.

11. Remember that YOU are responsible for YOUR comfort in your browsing experience. No one else is. If you are bothered by anything in fandom, whether a ship or those who oppose said ship, then you need to do what you can to make your browsing experience safe from it all. YOU. Not others. No one else is responsible for that but YOU.

12. However, you should also do what you can to make your content able to be avoided easily by those who will do what they can to do so. Remember to make sure you make your post easy to blacklist by those who may want to avoid it. If someone sees a post that upsets them because you didn’t do whatever you could to make it possible for them to not see it, then that isn’t exactly fair either.

13. Remember that there is a real, live, complex human being behind that computer. There is more to them than what they ship or don’t ship, and acting like that is the all there is to them is not showing them respect. It doesn’t matter if they do things you think isn’t okay. They deserve respect as a fellow human being. Even if there is discourse between you guys, please don’t forget there is a human being there and they are just as complex as you and deserve to be thought of as such. There is always more to these things than is shown on the surface, and that should be considered when interacting with them. Stay calm and consider their side as well as yours and be respectful of both sides. It’s hard, I know. It’s so much easier to dehumanize a person and judge them entirely off of one aspect of their lives. But the easier path isn’t always the better one.

Please consider all of these points for the future. If we could all learn how to get along and respect each other, then discourse about this could easily be in the past. We should all be coming together to celebrate a piece of media we all like, not tearing each other apart over insignificant things like ships.

'La La Land' fails to make America great again
"La La Land's" succcess is troubling, because its candy-colored nostalgia masks a toxic complicity in the dark side of a longing for "simpler times," says Jeff Yang.
By Jeff Yang

“Because “La La Land” is at its heart all about longing for an era in which showy choreography and saturated color could elevate inconsequential first-world troubles into epic distraction. One where — other than John Legend — only white people matter enough to have dialogue, and where Ryan Gosling’s Sebastian can be unironically presented as saving jazz from black sellouts, like Legend’s character.”

I love that skam can place important and meaningful messages within the show not just through actions and events but also in the dialogue without sounding cliché or slipping from the narrative voice. These are legitimate things that teenagers think about and say. Yes, they’re mature but it comes from reflection, observation, and learning about how the world works and who we are. It’s never dumbed down to the point that it sounds cheesy or discredits teenagers’ ability to genuinely think, and it’s not so elevated and structured that it sounds fake or forced. It’s raw and real and beautiful
