NurseyWeek Prompt #2 - Surprise

Bitty almost jumps out of his skin when the Haus’ front door bangs open, the loud slam of wood against wall echoing through the hallway and reaching Bitty where he had been sitting placidly at the kitchen table. He relaxes when he recognizes Nursey in the archway of the room, but something about the way he’s standing makes Bitty double take.

It looks like someone took Nursey and gave him a good shake, sloughing off all that hipster cool that he so carefully cultivates for his everyday persona. Nursey’s lost the regular slouch in his shoulders, the serene look on his face; now, he’s swaying slightly, legs and arms tucked tight into his body. It’s like he’s unconsciously trying to take up as small a space as he can, which, being a 6’2” college athlete, isn’t all that small. His curls are slightly mussed, and he has lines of exhaustion written across his face.

“Bits,” he says, a note of solemnity in his quiet voice, “I need your help.”

Raymond Reddington in 4x13

Life is made through our choices, I feel on the spiritual path it’s really about honoring what comes up for you. You can either choose to react from fear and listen to the bs or you can choose to rise above it by creating new choices in the present moment.

It’s always your Choice. <3

Happy 15 years of Moulin Rouge! We ranked all the musical numbers

The greatest thing you’ll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return, and the greatest songs you’ll ever know are all made over and mashed up in Baz Luhrmann’s flashy jukebox musical Moulin Rouge!, which hit theaters 15 years ago on May 18, 2001.

‘Moana’ Star Auli'i Cravalho Says Bump on Her Head Is a Reminder That the Oscars Wasn’t a Dream

The bump slowly going away on the back of Cravalho’s head is a reminder that it wasn’t a dream. During her song, she got hit with one of the dancer’s blue flags. At dress rehearsal, the same thing happened. At the time, she laughed it off – hoping it wouldn’t happen on the big night. “It was during the exact same part,” Cravalho recalls. “That person is forever holding his peace, that’s for sure.” Cravalho proved to be a true professional and kept going. “I think I had that the show must go on ingrained in my mentality,” she says of the moment. “My mom is the one who tells me to roll with what life throws at you.” Before walking out onstage, Moana composer (and Hamilton creator) Lin-Manuel Miranda had some advice for the young actress: “Breathe.”

“He was a really great support for me during that time,” Cravalho says. “To have the person who wrote your song encourage you in such a way was amazing.”

Breathe? Nah.

Respira. It’s her anthem, after all.

2016 was terrible but...

I did lose 75lbs, moved to the 3rd largest city in the U.S. (Houston, TX), got into the University of Houston for my Graduate Program, & recently started my new position as a Food & Beverage Supervisor with Starwood Hotels. So yeah, small victories after a year filled with endless battles. I can’t thank God enough for what He has done for me. I know He has a lot of work to do with my healing process but as long as I continue to believe in Him and walk by faith, anything is possible. Amen 🙌🏾🙏🏾
