This scenario made me feel all kind of ways after I finished it. It was one of those fics that I couldn’t just forget. Her writing is absolutely beautiful and it’s like I’m reading poetry.

    • *SCREAMS* is an accurate represenation of me the whole time I read this, goshhhhhh Jimin scenarios are honestly my weakness and tie in the whole “I hate you and you hate me but I actually love you but my pride and ego won’t allow for that ha nope”

@exoticarmy127 **

Yes I just gave her actual account stars because I have read (I’m not joking) every single one of her stories and loved every single one like her writing is beyond this universe and yet it’s so simple and beautiful at the same time. I can even say that Kaye was the reason I wanted to start writing because I wanted to be able to read my works one day and say that “i wrote that” and that wouldn’t have happened if it wasn’t for Kaye. THANK YOU SO MUCH KAYE for being an inspiration, an amazing and beautifully talented writer who manages to blow my mind every single time.

For my followers who don’t know her, don’t even hesitate to read her works cause you will love them, a 100% guarantee from me. BUT I’ve still managed to compile my favorites from her writing below (probably the most difficult thing I’ve had to do lol)

  • cold & hold me tight
    • these two were one the first scenarios I read of Kaye’s and they had pulled me in asdfghjkl it was just so cute and so angst and so ajdnififisn
  • as promised
    • daddy taehyung has got me weak in my feels.
  • you, me, & the little things in between
    • I think I cried a good bit with this cause my heart was too fragile for all the angst and cutesyness.
  • laws of motion and attraction
    • low and behold the holy grail of Kaye’s work. This one was a rollercoaster of emotions and there were surprises at every single chapter that I had never anticipated and in a honestly, this was a real piece of art.

BUT that’s all for now guys! Once I read any more, I’ll definately update the list and let you in on the great fics floating around on tumblr. But if you guys have any recommendations for me ( I AM OPEN TO ANYTHING SEND ME ANYTHING I LOVE ANYTHING ), just drop them in my ask or message me and we can fangirl about it together once I read it hahaha!

Hope you guys enjoy the list and don’t forget to check out the other works of these writers too! They’re all amazing and truly talented!

Okay but real talk here, I’m huge into world building. It’s one of my favorite hobbies. And one of my favorite things to do is to look at an already set up system and try to figure out what the rest of the world is like, based on the few bits of info we know.

Lately I’ve been doing this a ton with g/t. I keep on thinking of the common set-up of a place that’s geared to tinies and to giants, and honestly stuff like that is so much more than just platforms here for tinies, different sized things, etc.

Is the weather geared for the small or giant figures? How did two different types of beings with vastly different sizes come to a peaceful conclusion to share, when being seperated would be overall safer? What are the politics like, are there equal represenatives of both sides, or is one more socially favored over the other? How do they handle crime, because crimes and assult would be extraordinarily easy to commit/get away with on a giant scale?

What are the schools like, especially younger schools? If the two races were seperated during younger years where interaction would be more dangerous, does that add in some slight racisim/judgement whenever the two groups eventually mix?

How would dangerous enviroments work out? Things like parades, parties, festivals, parties, those things can be dangerous for just one size, it’d be rather harsh with multiple sizes. Would events like that be segregated? How would people feel about the segregation?

How would romance and friendships be handled? Especially when one side can easily hold all the power? Would it be generally accepted, or would it be judged, or would it just be held in caution?

How would things be represented in fiction? Would it be like our media, where one race/sexuality/gender is generally shown more than others? Or would things be more even in this world? Or would work envorments like filming media be consider dangerous for mixed sizes?

And then there’s the possibilities for science, engeneering, the psycology of it, more social aspects, the crime, there’s literally so much that could be expanded upon in a world like this! Most of the g/t forms of media I see merely skim the surface of topics like these, but I can’t stop thinking about all the deeper things. Culture, politics, where all of this began and how it evolved and why things are the way that they are!

And this is just for a world where giants and tinies live peacefully. In worlds where tinies are kept as pets, that’s a whole different thing to think about and expand upon and pick apart. Giants as monsters? Or tinies and giants knowing each other and living apart? Or tinies living in a world unknown to giants? Each one presents entirely different oppertunites to expand and create more from it!

I’m totally rambling now, but I utterly adore building up the world on common concepts like this. If anyone has anything to add to this, feel free!

JKR vs. representation

My big problem with JKR meddling with Harry Potter post-script is that statements like “the wizarding world is very conservative” (which we can clearly see in the series) and “homosexuality isn’t really a big deal to witches and wizards” (which we do NOT see in the series) aren’t compatible, and her thinking that they are show how completely cisheteronormative her perspective is.

Conservative western societies create labels for people and had the society not been conservative, it would have been clear through a much bigger variety of self-expression. JKR not understanding this shows her privelege as someone who does fit into the conservative labels and never having had to look outside of them for something to call herself.

JKR claiming, through her statement that homophobia does not exist in the wizarding world, that cisheteronormativity (and through it opression of lgbtqa+ people) and conservatism do not go hand-in-hand sits really wrong with me. You can’t erase cisheteronormativity as a symptom of conservatism just because you don’t know how to address it correctly. That means you need to take responsibility for the gap in knowledge and educate yourself.

The fans have added to much wonderful represenation to the world of Harry Potter by interpreting clues in canon, by re-writing the past and looking towards the future. But the fans who do this understand opression. They have experienced it themselves. They see the signs and they use them with great skill to work with and around what little we get from canon. (I completely get it. It’s an adventure series. It’s not meant to address all the world’s issues all at once.)

One of the things I like about the books is that JKR deal with the complex issues she understand and does it very skillfully. Which is exaclty why she needs to leave the post-scrips additions alone, because she doesn’t understand so many of the issues she is trying to deal with now.

Not to mention that adding queer representation retroactively means that while she has not contributed to the decennia-long fight to normalize lgtbqa+, she is reaping the benefits that have come out of that struggle. She has taken no risks by presenting queer characters in her own text on which the books may have been be judged when they were published. This is not her profit to reap.

In regard to your reblog about there being no white people in the avatar universe I must ask if you think that most of the characters are blended to make the audience see themselves in the characters? For example, aang looks very white but also clearly modeled off of Asian monks and katara and sokka are darker skinned but look white sometimes. Animation is about making people see themselves in the art so would you agree with this?

At what point do Sokka or Katara ever look white in the show? They were pretty much consistently brown/Inuit looking characters and I can’t ever recall seeing them portrayed as otherwise outside of the occasional scene with bright white light. Aang may look white to you, but he is very clearly modeled after monks and Asian designs as is Toph Beifong.

This is a show that was made specifically with the intention of using Asian and Inuit culture to create a fantasy world. In every form of media we are flooded with stories revolving around white characters, so it’s incredibly damaging when people say that there are characters in the Avatar world who are white when the creators of the show have gone out of their way to produce something that is so very clearly based on Asian and Inuit people. I’m not saying you can’t relate to a character, but relating to a character by whitewashing them so you can “see yourself” in the story is racist and it erases what little media presence minorities have on television.

That last statement about animation might be true if we were talking about a show that was about a talking trashcan or something, but this is an amazingly detailed animated show revolving around humans, so the viewer is presented with a specific character view that isn’t left to interpretation. Please don’t think there are any white characters in the Avatar world because that’s a completely inaccurate and harmful view to have.
