the work of the people

I’m totally crying now bc we were messaging with my cis, possibly-straight sister (who is ALSO pregnant, but due in Feb which is four months earlier) about pregnancy stuff.

And I went to reply to something she had said about how pregnant people survived for centuries without all the knowledge we have now.

And then I realized she had said pregnant PEOPLE 😭😍

Flash/Supergirl Musical Episode Stages Glee Reunion, Casts Darren Criss as the Menacing Music Meister
Music makes the Glee kids come together again! In a pitch-perfect piece of casting, Darren Criss will reunite with his former Glee cohorts Grant Gustin and Melissa Benoist
By Michael Ausiello

“Menacing”, come the heck on, have you seen this man?

0/0 superheroes are actually menaced by him. Endangered, yes, but he’s menacing the way that guy who spent a half hour yelling outside my window at seven am this morning was menacing. That soulful gaze is not the image they should have chosen for this article.

There we go.

so my stepdad is watching Bill O'Reilly, which unfortunately he does a lot and i have to put up with overhearing, and he was just talking about the Donald Duck administration

he was trying to spin President Bump’s protracted war with the media and tendency to attack anyone who said anything bad about him as a good thing

he even insinuated that, not only is this normal, other conservative presidents like Bush who got slammed by the media and didn’t attack newspapers for it should have done so

he was like (and i’m paraphrasing but confident i’m accurate about the meaning) “liberal news sources have a vested interest in delegitimizing our new president”

gee, golly gosh, there was never an attempt to delegitimize President Obama by, e.g., claiming he wasn’t born in this country, claiming that he was a “communist” who would topple the foundations of American democracy, and insinuating that he was Muslim and somehow this have disqualified him for the office or made him unpatriotic?? That didn’t happen for the entire term of his presidency?

Fox News never had any bias against Obama, right? We all know they’re a neutral party who’s always willing to call out bias in both the conservative and liberal sides, right?

And Obama totally personally attacked news sources that attacked him, sent his hundreds of followers after them, and exploded on twitter about insults, just like Donald Bump does, right?

Oh, wait.

Ford confronts the Northwests on August 3rd. He invites Fiddleford to work with him in Gravity Falls on July 20th. July comes before August. Either Bill corrupted Ford’s memories or there is nearly a year’s worth of anomalies and  discoveries that are unaccounted for. Either way, there’s no way that Ford met Bill in 1981. Something fishy is going on here.

Other people have said this far more eloquently than me, but apparently I need to say it too:

Hi Anon. FYI, leaving sarcastic negative comments does not encourage me to write the way you want me to. It encourages me to write less, or not at all.

I could write a long essay exploring the genre tropes prevalent in fanfiction (which you are apparently unfamiliar with), point out that fanfiction is essentially a transformative interpretation of what is usually a loose bundle of canon characterizations, or suggest that if you disagree with or even just don’t like my take on a character, you use that back button to your heart’s content - but I suspect that engaging in good faith is a losing argument. I suspect that the intent was, in fact, to get me to stop writing something you disagreed with.

To which I say - if you didn’t like that story, you are really not going to like the next one.

one of the reasons mental illness sucks so fucking much is because people around you can literally tell you again and again that they love you, that they think you’re cool and funny, that they support you in every way, that you’re talented or intelligent, and no matter how many times they say it you’ll always cringe and shake your head and say “no, no i’m not, really” but the SECOND someone says one bad thing about you, even just once. You believe it completely.

There’s this discussion right now about getting your lore/art seen and I just want to throw in some advice of my own: Tag the shit out of your work.

If anyone looks at my tags you might notice I add, like, a billion. If it’s somehow relevant to the drawing, I’ll tag it, even if it’s a very small detail. Now, I think tumblr only counts the first 5 tags you use, so make sure you use up those tags wisely. Monster folks get lots of traffic on here, so I tag monster boys/girls/enbies first [and, well, most of my characters are dragon people, so they fit], then flight rising, then humanoid/gijinka, etc. until I use up the five. Then I tag whatever else just in case.

It might feel silly, but trust me, it works. Even if it nets you just one more extra like/reblog, that’s one more person who’s seen and likes your art or writing, and might’ve missed it if you hadn’t tagged.

Also, double reblog your stuff. It helps get your work seen by people who might’ve missed it due to timezone shenanigans, it’s your blog, and anyone who doesn’t like it can stuff it.

I have made a Discovery

okay carry on
