Would you be willing to share some of your thoughts about Yuri's motivation over the rings, at least? I'd be curious to read your thoughts especially since that scene in particular has a lot of cultural terminology and background that doesn't translate perfectly for International audiences to begin with.
This is a hard one because, as you wrote, I think there are cultural differences especially regarding the concept of “omamori” (protective charms).
First of all it would be very useful to read this interesting and complete post about “omamori”. Although regarding the part about the rings being round and that symbolizing a bond I’m not sure, I think that might be reading too deeply. At the end there’s also my comment on the meaning of the word “omajinai”, which is also not that easy to translate…
This said, the rest under the cut. Of course this is just my personal interpretation based on the Japanese dialogues in the anime and partly on interviews (I think it doesn’t even clash with the “soulmates” thing in the interview from CREA). All quotes from the dialogues are translated by me and do not use the English sub/dub. I am translating “omamori” as “protective charm”.
Warning: it’s kind of long and has pictures because if I don’t explain it thoroughly it might be hard to get my point across.
do you think there was some major beef/internal conflict in 1d (Niall, Louis, & Liam V.S. Harry)?? because I really get the impression that Harry was very separate from the other members of the band, always kind of off doing his own thing while the other boys seemed to be a band of their own... am I crazy or do you sort of see this divide as well??
OK, so I truly never thought it was OT3/4 vs Harry, I really didn’t. I thought it was all tabloid fodder, made up by Dan and Simon, etc. And I would like to preface this whole post with “this is all image, we don’t really know what’s going on behind the scenes, this could be part of their solo pushes,” and so on and so forth.
But having said all of that, yeah, I’m starting to think that view has some truth behind it.
Keeping in mind that Liam tended to act as the spokesman for the band, and he’s doing active promo for the first time, let’s look at him…
There was this sort of weird tweet. I remember at the time, the fandom was like “that’s kind of weird.” But whatever, who knows who wrote the tweet, and he did say he’s proud of Harry.
But then we come to hear it was Harry who wanted the hiatus first (per Harry’s Rolling Stone article) and Liam says that Niall had the hardest time with it, and that Liam didn’t even know what a hiatus was (which sounds like bullshit, but that’s the story he’s pushing), and that’s just…something to note. OK.
Finally, we get these weird questions from Dan toward both Niall and Harry, where they both leave open the possibility of One Direction existing without Harry. And we have Liam including Zayn in his answers about what the band is doing for their solo music. And go bacik to the first link in the above paragraph, where he says, “It’s difficult to see how everyone’s gonna work out at the moment.”
Now, you asked about Louis, Liam, and Niall as a unit.
When I rewatch OTRA clips now, I wonder if the other men ever got annoyed with Harry being all over the stage and sort of taking over, especially while they were singing. A post crossed my dash today about stage Harry in OTRA and he was swinging around his hair, bounding across the stage, dancing with mics, etc–and in this clip, it wasn’t when he was singing. I’ve talked about how Harry’s stage presence on SNL was not what I expected, and in rewatching OTRA clips now, it’s clear often Harry was able to be stage!Harry because the other men were singing. I wonder how they felt about that? (I wonder. Truly wonder. I’m not making assumptions, I’m rethinking old assumptions.)
I think Niall will always try to be a neutral as possible. He’s like Switzerland. But even he left open the idea that 1D could come back without Harry. Which…?
I think there is clearly no love lost between Harry and Zayn, and I think that’s for real.
Louis seemed more in sync with the other men (Niall and Liam) in OTRA. We know Harry had his own stylist, etc.
So. To answer your question, yeah, I see it. And I don’t know if it’s just for promo purposes or what. But I see it.
also i really really hope the good lars isn’t gonna be another one of those episodes that tries to get across that lars can be nice but only when he wants to be accepted so therefore he’s not nice at all, he’s just selfish.
like i could go on and on about this…the moment i saw the episode lars and the cool kids i was super interested in lars; he seemed to be a recurring human character with huge potential for character growth. he was socially insecure and his low self-esteem made him lash out on others because he desperately wanted to be accepted. he constantly changes his outward opinions in favor of the cool kids accepting him, he keeps trying to act cool from everything from speech to posture, etc. horror club was a huge part of setting up that character too, with the scene where lars accidentally tore apart ronaldo’s picture because he was absolutely horrified at the thought of an awkward photo of him being broadcasted.
as much as i don’t like the whole messy conflict/conflict resolution in island adventure, hell, that was so telling of lars as well. upon realizing that there are no social constructs for him to adhere to on the island and no one else for him to act differently around for approval, he opened up and started being himself.
and the song steven sang in that episode, “wherever you are?” the last line was why don’t you let yourself just be whoever you are
honestly island adventure did that part of lars’s character development right up until it was revealed that sadie secretly kept him there the whole time, with the episode basically ending up pressing the reset button on lars.
like, the situation isn’t even like it is with kevin, where he’s portrayed as nothing but unsympathetic. lars has been portrayed as sympathetic before, and it’s just so weird how he’s painted as this complex character, but only potentially. he could have been the perfect example of a character having negative traits but also learning to not let them get the best of him in the process and maturing as a person. so tl;dr, the good lars better deliver some much-needed development that doesn’t end with pressing the reset button again. if there’s one thing that saddens me the most it’s seeing really good concepts for characters being abandoned partway.
Spoilers most likely so look away if you haven’t seen the movie and don’t want spoilers…but…
This movie was amazing.
You have Zack a non cliche Asian man who is well developed and has a scene about his Mom and how much he loves her that just hits all the right emotional spots.
Trini who is an lgbt character who isn’t defined by that aspect, who isn’t apologetic about it and shows the struggle of accepting herself and the struggle that her family may not accept her. She’s strong and yes more could have been done with it, but it was an awesome step.
Kimberly who starts off as kind of the bland cheerleader girl but through the film we see that she’s not perfect and she has struggles and guilt. She fucked up and she knows it, it shows that one mistake won’t define who she is and she comes to terms with the fact that she has to live with it.
Billy who is arguably the best part of the movie is a male, black, canon autistic character who doesn’t falter from who he is and it’s beautiful. And there isn’t fun poked at his autism. When Jason has his wounds healed by getting the powers, Billy remains the same because their is nothing wrong with him and I think that sends an amazing message to both adults and kids. He is so well built and he deserves to be recognized for how well his character is done.
Lastly my boy Jason. What could have been the cliche white male jock leader is morphed into someone with flaws. He needs the others because he isn’t whole without them. He is allowed to cry, the team male leader is allowed to cry. That’s just so huge. Not only that but he builds a beautiful friendship with all of them and he hugs the other men, shows male affection without fear or homophobia or acting like being vulnerable and intimate is anything other than normal.
The fight scenes are okay, the plot is cheesy at times, the nostalgia is ripe. But, at the end of the day the core five are well done and have way more depth than I ever expected. I felt for these characters and even teared up at points in what was effectively a kids movie. I loved this and I think the representation in this film is crazy important.
Critics and other people can say whatever they want, I thought this was a damn fun and enjoyable movie.
This episode in its entirety is so weird. The way the story is set up, with Alison asking a question, Charlotte answering it, and Ali moving on, just seems too formulaic. It’s a little too perfectly executed, with Ali knowing exactly what to say to keep the story moving…almost like it was rehearsed ahead of time.
Why does only Ali get to actually be in the room with Charlotte, interacting with her and questioning her? The others are relegated to a television screen far away, where they’re unable to do anything but silently observe. Why didn’t all six of them get to be in the room with Charlotte? Or why wasn’t Alison with the rest of the girls in the space lair? It seems convenient to me that Ali is the only one who actually gets to speak to Charlotte and question her. How would the story have changed if they were all there in the room? It wouldn’t have…except the other girls would have been able to question her and point out contradictions. And notice that Ali doesn’t call out any of her inconsistencies, including the big ones. Why is that?
So Alison and Charlotte were supposedly as close as could be, and yet Ali never thought to question why her best friend’s last name just happens to be the same as her mother’s maiden name? Sure, people can have the same surname, but it’s a bit of a stretch to think that she wouldn’t even comment on it or find it strange.
In her 4x24 tell-all, Alison claims that she could hear Jessica, clear as day, crying “what have you done?” to someone unknown as she was being buried alive. And yet she didn’t hear Charlotte, who was only sitting five feet away, sobbing and begging for forgiveness? How is that possible? There’s no way she could hear Jessica that clearly without at least being aware that someone else was talking as well. She has to be lying.
Going along with my theory that this whole episode is a big show that Ali and Charlotte are putting on for the girls, this scene seems fake as hell. Charlotte’s over dramatics when pushing the button, Ali’s lackluster protests, her weak reaction to the possibility of being blown up...are we seriously supposed to believe this is real? They’re both so clearly acting this whole time.
So Alison gives up leaving Rosewood, decides to stay in the town that she has only bad memories of, just so she can dedicate the next five years to taking care of Charlotte? That’s pretty damn forgiving, considering all of the terrible things Charlotte did to her and her friends. Has Ali really become with a forgiving, loving person, or is there another reason why she doesn’t seem to hold a grudge against A at all? Like, perhaps, because she was on her side the whole time?
I just had a horrible thought and now I’m sad. Like…Killian literally saw how upset David was about his father’s death, how absolutely distraught he was when he thought George had killed him.
He saw first hand what impact such an evil act had on one of the people left behind to deal with the aftermath.
And now Killian knows he’s actually the one that hurt David like that. His actions are the reason David was sobbing in his arms.
Killian caused this:
And that whole scene takes on a whole new meaning.
Now…imagine Killian sitting in that booth at Granny’s, his thoughts moving between the memory of David crying on his shoulder and the potential for Emma being hurt like that when she finds out what he did to her family (well, she didn’t know the guy, so maybe not - but still, Killian would’ve gone there in his head).
For the lovely anon who asked “can you write jercy when they are secretly dating and decide to come out under ridiculous circumstances” on @pjofluffguard ! Hope this is what you wanted! (hah take that @ ashlee and dan we’re fighting back)
See, the thing about secretly dating was that you had to be conspicuous. And although Jason and Percy seemed to think conspicuous was their middle name, having gods for fathers really didn’t help their case.
When Percy first asked Jason to be his boyfriend, when they were tangled up in a makeshift fort on Percy’s bed in the middle of the night, a lightning storm appeared. Jason couldn’t stop grinning, and couldn’t stop saying that yes, of course, there was nothing in the world he wanted more (“shut up Jason, you’ve said it five times already, we’re already together”) and just outside the camps weather-protected walls rain pelted the earth relentlessly.
The first time Jason hugged Percy, long before they started dating and just when Percy started to realize that a lip scar was the most beautiful thing in the world, faucets in the bathroom a few yards away started to go haywire. A poor, unsuspecting Hecate kid got a jet of water right between the eyes.
Damn there are some scenes where she takes my breath away as Clarke. Everything in 315 with her mother was stunning, and then that little moment in 316 when Abby wakes up? I was almost crying for both of them. What a force. Other major moments for Eliza were the 307 death scene, the reunion with Abby in the end of 316, and how she manages to show FIFTY DIFFERENT EXPRESSIONS AT ONCE when she sees Bellamy safe and sound—in 316 and in 405.
And then we have something that’s more subtle that builds, like the list scene in 403. that’s probably a minute or more of silent performance from Eliza, and it’s all about her indecision and the weight of her responsibilities. She only breaks down when Bellamy wakes up and joins the scene. Yet in that minute we can see how torn up with remorse she is.
Eliza also does really well with some of the small humor moments? She gets so few opportunities being the super serious lead character of a super serious show, but one if my favorite acting beats for Clarke this season was the small reactions she gave to Murphy in the kitchen in 407. That whole scene is beautifully done, from her little smile when makes a joke about the good ones being taken, to her “omg good food” face right after. They have good chemistry and are both strong performers. But this little smile here, with her dry commentary that is half sarcasm but also half amusement and being charmed.
The 100 as a show does a pretty good job with casting–at this point I have no complaints about the mains and their talent for subtle performances. Sometimes it’s tough if the script is too on-the-nose, and the 100 as a whole isn’t known for subtle or layered dialogue. The characters tend to be very upfront with what they’re thinking and feeling as they react to the disasters of the moment. So I actually attribute a lot of the show’s success to the cast, and how they can take heavy-handed lines and bring them down a notch or crank them up a notch as necessary to deliver evocative performances. Especially once the show figured out how to write toward these actors better (mid season 1) it got really strong. Eliza is a huge part of that, and she deserves serious applause for being a pillar of the show.
Her character is also half of my OTP, so I love her work on that too. Every little glance that Clarke has with Bellamy, every delicate vulnerability or outstretched hand–Eliza and Bob made those screen moments together, to entertain us. And damn am I entertained.
So… I literally just finished watching. And I had to pick up my jaw off the ground after that ending.
I can’t believe how unbelievably good this episode was. In comparison to last episode, which had some big flaws from my perspective, this one is light years beyond that. My faith in Wit Studio has once again been destroyed. Still, goddamn motherfucker Araki.
We kind of new from the official screenshot we got a few days back that we would get the entire part before Lynne interrupted them-
Okay I need to cut here and mention a very important detail: R.I.P Lynne, another very attractive SnK character dies. :(
Anyway, we got the talk between Reiner and Ymir. The part where Reiner reacts at the writing is SO GOOD. Both the little details in animation, as well as Yoshimasa Hosoya’s BRILLIANT voice acting! The gasp, the whole reaction (on Ymir’s side as well) was way too good to not remember. Basically, every single second of this chapter is memorable. From Gelgar’s dedication to alcohol until the very end, to Reiner and Bertolt.
Oh god the foreshadowing, as if it wasn’t great enough already. Honestly, every anime-only would have picked up something suspicious by now. So far, Reiner’s talk to Connie in the beginning of last episode was the first hint something was off about him. Now we get the Ymir scene, the Bertolt scene and.. the flashback.
ZEKE’S FUCKING ROAR BITCHES!!!!!! SO FUCKING AMAZING I CAN’TFSEGHSHG SO EPIC AFHPISDAFHDSAG AHHHHHHHHHHH
So Marcel has red hair? I did not expect that. Do we have any other male snk character with red hair? I’m not sure. Either way, the way it was animated was really good!
THAT ANIMATION WAS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL. I expected another song to play in the background, but GODDAMN not that one! AND I’M NOT SAYING I DIDN’T LIKE IT, HELL NO! It was amazing. The jump, the tracking and the FUCKING TRANSFORMATION ITSELF.
Me and @shifter-lines came to the conclusion that those DNA-Helix shapes that formed when her limbs were generating were NOT a coincidence or something unintentional. We already saw it in both PV’s, but the Paths/Titan Generation thing REALLY gets more focus! And omfg… so good, so bright, so flashy, so AWESOME! AND THE PREVIEW FOR NEXT EPISODE AFAIGFSDGHS
Overall, this is the best Season 2 episode so far. I am glad Wit took this approach with this one and didn’t repeat their same mistake as last chapter. They are excused for now!
This whole storyline is heartbreakingly believable. Everytime something like this happens irl, it’s one more time than is acceptable.
It’s incredibly well acted, and very well put together. And does it not shy away from real and extremely upsetting scenes. I’ve cried a few times in earlier episodes but the final one literally had me gasping for breath because I was sobbing so hard at certain scenes.
I would say that everyone should watch this show or read the book but I also don’t think everybody is ready to.
If you are going to watch this then take the warnings posted at the start of the episodes seriously because they are very serious.
It’s seem weird to say that I enjoyed this show because it almost feels like I shouldn’t have.
I guess I’ll say I enjoyed the emotional roller coaster.
I loved this whole episode, Leah’s acting was on point as always and it’s just great when she gets to play those emotional scenes. Cami standing up to Klaus is always nice to see as well, especially that “This is not about you” line, so good.
Okay. How about this? List all of these and why. Favorite WA kiss? Favorite WA angst? Favorite WA love declaration? Favorite funny WA scene? Favorite Barry moment? Favorite Iris moment? Favorite WA moment in general?
1) Favorite WA kiss: Other than the hot make-out in episode 4, I would have to say my favorite kiss between them happens in episode 9 of season 3, because Barry just gifted Iris with their amazing loft and he was so excited to show her. After that, Barry tells her that moving in together isn’t a big step for him (because really, it’s not – Barry has waxed poetic to Iris multiple times, and done things like get her a replica of her mother’s ring). He was ready to move forward with her, to take the next step in their future together. The moment was just so sweet, also because he basically proposed to her when he told her that she was the last thing he wanted to see when he went to bed, and the first thing he wanted to see when he woke up (before Iris cut him off with a kiss lol). I know they had two kisses in the scene, but I’m mainly talking about after Iris said she loved him (and SHE USED FULL NAME WHICH KILLED ME) and Barry told her he loved her too. That moment was so sweet and genuine, and that scene alone showcases how much they love each other. Both kisses had me shook, though!
2) Favorite WA angst: Hands down, and I think my favorite scene of all time in season one, was the scene from Grodd Lives 1x21, where Joe was kidnapped by Grodd and Iris questioned why the team couldn’t figure out how to save him. The angst aspect was when she walked out, and Barry followed her. I loved their argument in that scene in the hallway, mainly because Iris got to express how she felt about Barry lying, which we all needed to hear since she were kept in the dark for pretty much the whole season. It’s also my favorite because Iris was tearing up, because she was truly hurt that her dad and mainly Barry would lie to her, because “you were supposed to be my best friend, Barry!” That line.. shook! “I am your best friend!” I literally know the entire dialogue in that scene, lol. It was just heart breaking because Iris was truly hurt, because she gave Barry that much capacity to hurt her, because she loved him. Also, I will never not laugh (and roll my eyes) at Barry equating keeping the secret from Iris to her hidden feelings for him. Not only that, but the acting from both of the actors, specifically from Candice was A1. Definitely my favorite scene from season 1.
3) Favorite WA love declaration: This is so hard to choose! I feel like moments that can’t be considered love declarations, are in my opinion. I’ll keep this one short, but I guess I will go with Barry’s first confession in 1x09. I think it was so sweet and raw from Barry, and it’s been the most open he’s been to everyone. He wore his heart on his sleeve, and he felt like how owed it to Iris to tel her then – although it was ill-timing. The part that made me choose this declaration was because of Barry’s “I loved you before I even knew what the word love meant.” That line did it for me because Barry defines love int he way he loves Iris. When you’re young, you don’t really know what love is. You know it’s characterized my some feeling, but Barry as a child knew whatever he felt for her, must be love. He essentially said, “that, that right there, whatever I feel for her, it has to be love.” And that makes me cry. Of course Iris’s silent tears added tot he scene, because you could tell she were mad and sad, because it’s like “Why now?” in her mind, everything has completely changed for them. She’s always seen Barry as her best friend, and probably couldn’t differentiate her romantic feelings for him vs her platonic ones, so she buried them – and characterized them as one. Now, that Barry told her he loved her this entire time, you have to imagine in her head she’s thinking about and questioning every single moment they have shared, because for her it’s always been one thing. Now that Barry told her this, she knows that in every moment they have shared, he’s been in love with her. I lied, that wasn’t short at all lol!
4) Favorite Funny Scene: Have WA had many funny scenes? Lol. I don’t know if this scene be classified as funny, but the first scene that popped into my head was in episode 3x09, when Barry just showed Iris their soon-to-be lovely home together, and Iris said “I got you a wallet.” LOL. That line made me alight and cry, because Iris was so genuine and sweet and she’s in shock that he gave her that, while she gave him a wallet. And Barry’s “I’m sure I love it” made me CRY (but also laugh while crying) because HE WAS DEAD ASS SERIOUS. Barry is going to cherish that wallet for everything it’s worth, simply because Iris got it for him lol. I’m sure he tells everyone t work that Iris gave him that wallet, just to show it off. This scene also solidified that Barry is the better gift giver :)
5) Favorite Barry moment: If this is speaking about them individually, this is tough, because there are so many Barry scenes to choose from, lol. I don’t know if this classifies as “favorite Barry moment” because it’s his tears and his conversation with Nora in Welcome to Earth 2 on the phone that made me cry. It was the first time Barry heard Nora’s voice since he were a child. Technically it’s not his mother, but Earth 2 Barry’s but it was still all the same for Barry. The moment he heard her voice on the phone, and had to play off as E2 Barry and started to cry (which makes it even more sad? Because E2 Barry still has his mother). It was just a heart breaking scene, and well-acted one all around. Kudos to Grant.
6) Favorite Iris Moment: This is difficult as well, but not as difficult because Iris has had so many wonderful scenes that made me cheer for her. I loved the scene where she’s talking to Joe in Grodd Lives in CCPN, because she was again, expressing her POV which was lacked in season 1 due to her being in the dark about Barry’s secret. My favorite moment so far though, is in 3x11 where she has the conversation with Wally in CCPD. She had so much agency in that episode, but in that scene alone because she wanted to mattered. She got to express her fear of dying, but also getting to do something about it because she got to be. She knew about her potential fate, so she took matters into her own hands and didn’t let her consume her (at that moment). She wanted to be more than just a daughter, or sister, or a girl friend. The dialogue in that scene was A1, and really shows what kind of person Iris is. She loves being all of those things, but it doesn’t always define her. Her compassion, her need for justice and truth is what’s also important, her job as a reporter! I cried and cheered for her so much in that scene and the entire episode (like I always do).
7) All of my favorite WA moments are here, although they aren’t that updated. I want to add the scene from 3x10, where Barry tells Iris about her potential fate int he time vault. 1) the acting was so good? Grant and Candice play really well off of each other, but I felt like this particular scene had a much bigger impact because of the context and the emotions. 2) Poor Iris! Her whole life has been turned upside down, and she was so selfless to the point where her first thought was to tell Barry to stop letting criminals go to save her, and to protect Joe after. I loved Barry’s anger in that scene as well because he felt like Iris gave up a bit when she asked when it would happen. For him, it’s like Savitar already won. The entire scene just had me in shambles.
I believe my feelings can be summed up in one gif:
Just watching the ‘previously on’ segment has me nervous.
Oh, god, we’re starting in the hospital with
flickering lights. That’s probably not a good sign.
And we’re staring with Liam. Definitely not a
good sign. And did his hair actually get worse? I think it got worse.
Okay, so, they’re actually in
nowheresville/alternate dimension? But why does nowheresville now have a
replica hospital instead of just being a train station?
Still not over the fact that they named a town
…so…wait…Liam is still actually in Beacon Hills? Why are the signs there? I’m less than 2 minutes in and already confused as fuck haha.
“SHERIFF: Give the boy some room!” So the ghost riders just let people come with their weapons lmao? And sheriff is dumb enough to shoot up
into a crowd? And can people actually get hurt here in nowheresville? Like, if
sheriff just straight up started shooting right now, what would even happen? The people were already erased from reality, can they even get hurt?
Also, how long was sheriff in there? Because, like, back in 6x05 when new people got dropped off, the ghost riders legitimately dropped them off right in front of everyone else, they didn’t just inconspicuously materialize. So, given that logic, sheriff’s been there at least a hot minute and, yet, he didn’t automatically go to Stiles? It’s not like Stiles was hard to find, he was standing off to the side all by himself? Or why didn’t Stiles notice him arrive? Maybe this was explained in another episode, but I kinda doubt it, so:
as I love Stilinski family moments, I’m still bitter as fuck over the fact that
Stiles wasn’t worrying about his father this whole damn time.
Well, that nice moment lasted all of 2 seconds before
getting shot down by stydia baiting.
“SHERIFF: We’ll find each other again.” What the fuck even?
Can’t let Stiles relationship with his own fucking father encroach on the
“SHERIFF: I’ll hold them back.” literally how the fuck?
True alpha scott and his pack couldn’t do that, but human sheriff can? How? We
already know guns don’t work against them?
Okay this is all ridiculous and I’m in pain, but
damn Dylan looks good
“LYDIA: When I kissed you!” …did they kiss again?
Somehow? Like through a mirror portal or some shit? Did I fucking miss it? Or are they
talking about when she slammed her mouth on his back in 3a? Because I swear to fucking god if they’re suddenly playing
that her stopping his panic attack was
because she has feelings for him….
Look how awkward her hand is:
And seriously I’m seeing nothing but:
Posey is me while watching this:
“MALIA: We didn’t see anyone.” Okay, so, one I’m really
over this whole ‘only Lydia has any connection with Stiles shit’ as if
Scott wouldn’t and the credits haven’t even rolled yet. Like, unless it’s because she’s a banshee, they can miss me with this bullshit. Two, why does Malia answer for other people? Like
how could she know what Scott saw? Three, get out of here with this scalia. I
can feel it coming.
So Stiles canonically has a stronger bond
with his jeep than he does with Lydia, Scott, or Malia? I’m here for it. #stoscoe
Question: how the fuck did Stiles make it through without being burned to death?
…how are the credits just now rolling? I feel
like I just sat through a half hour of bullshit and it hasn’t even been 5
Whoa, his hair did get worse:
He looks like a wet dog. I guess that’s fitting.
Seriously? They just wrote Scott out of that
scene because Liam doesn’t know how to use his words? So they could go full
throttle with the stydia bullshit with a stalia love triangle that is literally
seasons too late?
Aw, but Stiles still goes to Scott’s house
first. That’s how it should always be. Why they gotta play at this dumbass ship
baiting when they could focus on their friendship instead?
Still not over the fact that they change what
the McCall house looks like in every season haha.
Why would Stiles even go to the station? He knows his dad is missing? Who is he looking for? It’s not like Beacon Hills Sheriff’s Department has ever been any help to him lmao
And a radio? Why is he not just, y’know, getting
a fucking phone and calling people?
And if the whole town is gone, why didn’t we see
any of those people in the station when we saw sheriff?
Okay, how do they know Stiles actually made it
out into the real world? Like, I get that Lydia says she saw him, but when he
didn’t just walk through that tunnel thingy, why would they assume that this means he made it
into their world? Wouldn’t the logical conclusion be that it didn’t work and
he’s still stuck in nowheresville?
“MALIA: Stiles isn’t coming here. If he was, he
would have. And he hasn’t, so he’s not.” First of all, what the fuck kind of
logic? How long has it even been? 20 minutes? Chill the fuck out. Second, if
they all think Stiles is out running around, why the fuck wouldn’t they automatically all
split up and go to the places they think he would go? Like, y’know, his home,
or Scott’s home, or the sheriff’s station? Third, I hate when this show makes
it to where Lydia has-an-IQ-of-170 Martin is dumb as a fucking rock while Malia spent-the-better-part-of-a-decade-licking-her-own-ass-in-the-woods Tate is somehow the only with a
Okay, so the two worlds are converging…what’s
the point of this?
Oh god, not this fuck again:
Oh sweet baby jesus:
I got a whole list for this one:
Stop trying to put these two together, Teen
Wolf. They ain’t friends and Lydia doesn’t deserve this.
Why are they staring at the tread marks when
obviously the JEEP IS FUCKING GONE. LIKE, IS THAT NOT A BIG ENOUGH CLUE?
And wouldn’t they have been keeping tabs on the
jeep during this whole ordeal? So they should know it had to have been moved recently?
Is Lydia fucking Scooby Doo? She gonna sniff
that tire mark? The fuck she doing on the ground like that?
I am not fucking here for a Malia and Lydia
scene to be paralleling Stiles and Derek:
And how can Malia suddenly not smell him?
And what in the absolute fuck is Malia
Why is that shirt so fucking long? And look at those boots. Why does wardrobe hate her
“MALIA: Well, half the time he got it started with a
I get so mad when they act like Malia would be the only one to
know this and not Lydia. Lydia’s been around Stiles and that damn jeep way before Malia was even a thing.
Parrish is evil now? Or just controlled? Boy, they’ll literally do
anything to force stydia in this episode, won’t they lmao?
“NAZI: And I’ll have a true alpha by my side.” Lmao as
if that’s a selling point by now. Scott never does shit because they’re too busy trying to make Malia and Liam special.
All I’m getting from this scene is that even after
spending fuck knows how long in nowheresville, Stiles is still the only
competent one and he accomplishes more in the short time he’s been back than
all of them have in months lmao. Like, did he essentially save himself? And
then he found them? And then he’s probably gonna be the one to save the town
Watching that sciles hug, man, I started out like:
…then came the weird back patting…
…and then they completely destroyed it with Liam and a
cheap attempt at getting a laugh
Oh my good god:
“MALIA: Why is there a train station in the middle of
the library?” Is this line supposed to be funny? Teen Wolf, making the
character you just tried to play off as intelligent suddenly mentally challenged
is just confusing, not amusing. ·
“MALIA: Any chance they’re connected?” What
the fuck. No one is that goddamn stupid
“MALIA: ITS’ BAD WE HAVE TO GO!” Literally what I am saying to myself as I watch Shelley’s attempt at acting in this scene.
“LYDIA: Maybe there’s someone who can.” It better not be…
Aw fuck I managed to get forget about Mason
and Hayden until this point.
Look at Mason in that shirt:
transformation into Stiles 2.0 is complete, I see.
Now there are 57 rooms in the train station? What
Is that Randall on the train’s pa system? Why?
And how does Mason always know where Randall is? Is Mason supernatural or is this show just stupid? I’m guessing stupid.
if they don’t let me graduate, I swear to god!” Oh, I’m sure they will. Makes
as much sense as anything else in this damn show. I foresee a painful scene
with Natalie in this episode’s future. And I guess we know how they’re writing
Stiles/Dylan off. Love how the dropped this just 11 minutes into the
finale. Do I even need to keep watching now? He’s clearly gonna graduate and go
off to college or maybe the academy·
And, wait, he was gone for 3 months? Like, I know they’re doing that so graduation can happen, but there
was a 3 month time jump since season 5 which put us at January. Now it’s been
another three months so they’re at March, maybe April if the show wants to push
it. But they’re acting like graduation is happening right away? So either Teen
Wolf fucked up their timeline again which would not be a surprise or there’s
going to be a time jump of at least a month in this episode? I don’t know which option is worse…
How can they just grab Parrish when he’s on
fire? Werewolves aren’t fire proof? At all? Like the show is pretty heavily
based in werewolves not being fire resistant *cough * the Hales *cough* I mean, how many fucking time have they burned Peter now?
And Liam screaming? Is this supposed to be
funny because I’m too distracted by the fact that they are completely unharmed and
their clothes aren’t even singed to remember to laugh.
I’m still not over Parrish’s magical modesty
“STILES: Buddy, I love you, but we’re way past that.”
He wants the supernatural army in their world?
Okay, but, like, wasn’t it already?
You can divert it? They’re just gonna be like,
‘well, fuck the town to the left of us’
So now there’s a complete other world? Fuck this
plot, man haha.
“LIAM: We can’t move between worlds, but Corey can!”
Deus ex Randall strikes again. And I swear to fucking god they straight up
yanked his plot right out of monster’s inc. I’m predicting that someone is
gonna end up banished in the Himalayas at the end of this episode.
Why can’t anyone run like a normal fucking person on this show?
“STILES: Were we like that?” “SCOTT: Worse.” I love when this
show tries to play that angle and make it seem like the newbies are how the originals were. No. Nobody in the first three seasons was ever
that terribly written and illogical.
“SCOTT: You wanna split up?” “STILES: Never again.” All right,
you know I’m a sucker for some sciles, but does Scott never learn?
If they’re going to insist on all having all of these shots of
Liam running I am going to have to insist that someone teaches Sprayberry how
to run without looking like he just shit himself and is trying to hobble to a
“LIAM: I hate horses.”
Next season they’re bringing in a chick that’s
part horse and Liam’s gonna fuck it, calling it now.
Aw fuck what happened to Theo’s hair:
Liam’s bad hair contagious?
He just jumped off a balcony onto a horse. His poor dick.
Seriously, Lydia has a stronger
connection to Peter in canon than Malia does or ever realistically can at this point.
“MASON: I know his smile, I know his touch, and I know
that that’s his voice.” Lmao I know they’re trying to do some progressive ‘look
at our adorable gay romance’ moment here, but a voice is way more distinguishable
than anything he just said.
Oh and now Mason is having the same wires/PA
system moment that Stiles had in 6x05. You’re so fucking sly, Teen Wolf.
And now a slow motion kiss.
“HAYDEN: When’d you learn how to ride a horse?” “LIAM: Just
now.” These lines aren’t funny, Teen Wolf. And is that really the first fucking
question Hayden is gonna ask? Not ‘what the fuck are you doing here?’ Or ‘are you
fucking crazy?’ Or ‘Did you stop the ghost riders?’
As if Stiles is the one who would ever think something could be that easy. That’s Scott’s M.O.
“PETER: Where do you get this implausible optimism?”
“MALIA: Definitely not from my father.” “LYDIA: We don’t have time for this!” No, we really fucking don’t and yet you continue to waste it on this bullshit daddy/daughter relationship that is apropos of nothing. Knock it the fuck off.
“STILES: I finally saw the girl’s locker room. It’s not
that different. It’s kind of disappointing.” All right, I’ll give you that one, Teen Wolf. That line was actually pretty funny….except you really telling me
all those nights spent in the school and he never went in the girls locker room?
How many times have they done this shot this season?
How are Peter’s claws going through the ghost
riders now? Like now they suddenly don’t have a corporeal form?
Seriously, Teen Wolf:
*Malia gets hurt* ..me:
And now Peter is screaming for Malia because he’s oh so concerned about what should realistically be a minor injury. This seems like a good place to stop.
why did Ouma choose to play the villain role in particular rather than just laying low like Tsumugi did? it interests me that he chose to play a role that he probably knew he'd get so much hate for
I’m not sure if these two asks are from the same person or
just about the same topic specifically, so I decided to answer the both of them
This is a very interesting question, and understanding the
answer requires understanding a lot of the general way Ouma’s mindset works. It’s
also, in my opinion, one of the biggest tip-offs that he’s not nearly as
chaotic or antagonistic a force as he likes to pretend to be. After all, for
most liar-type characters, the obvious choice for how to play the game would be
to try and fool other people into thinking they’re not a threat. It’s a lot easier to lie to people in order to
get them to like you and think of you as harmless than it is to lie in order to
get people to hate you, distrust you, and be generally pissed off at you all
Henry and Elizabeth have pretty much ruined me for every other tv couple. lol. I mean, even from the first time I watched the show I believed that they were married for 25 years because of the ease with which they interact with each other. It’s really something special, what Téa and Tim have, that could make it so believable that their characters know each other so well and love each other so much. Idek how to explain it, but now when I watch other TV shows, couples who i used to think, “omg they have so much chemistry,” are like, “eh”. I mean, I still enjoy watching those couples, but I guess with Henry and Elizabeth it’s like the whole package of love and chemistry and ease in the way they relate to each other. Plus I think Téa and Tim are given a lot of freedom when acting in scenes together. I don’t think they get a ton of direction. So that allows for a more natural feel to their scenes together, too.
And it’s also amazing that a couple who has been together for 3 years plays a couple who has been together for probably almost 30 years so seamlessly and naturally.
