did u know that 1. it is @kane-and-griffin‘s birthday 2. she accidentally went viral for ranting about Friends and 3. once I start thinking about how A Thing (random example: Marcus Kane writing viral Friends tweets) would go down I cannot stop until I just write the thing
anyway happy birthday claire!!
Marcus Kane is, unfortunately, very familiar with the Nice Guy phenomenon.
It’s an occupational hazard of writing science fiction, especially in the internet age; all he has to do is look for his most obnoxious fans, and he finds an unfortunately loud contingent of entitled mostly white men who believe that the world owes them women and happiness without any effort on their parts. It’s something he tries to combat as much as possible, wherever he can, and he knows it works in some cases. For every reader who’s turned against him for being an SJW cuck (whatever that means), he has another who’s expressed appreciation for his opening them up to perspectives they hadn’t considered and broadened their empathy and understanding.
That’s what sci-fi should do, as far as Marcus is concerned. The heart of science fiction is acceptance and unity.
Which is why he tells Bellamy, “I need you to do one of those Twitter threads for me.”
“For what?” Bellamy asks, wary. As Marcus’s assistant, he seems to think his most important duty is talking Marcus out of interacting with social media. And he may be right.
It takes him a second. “The guy from Friends?” he finally asks.
“Yes. I want to explain to my followers why he’s bad romantic lead and role model.”
To his shock, the response is instant. “Okay.”
“No arguments? No lecture on how that isn’t what Twitter is for?”
“No, fuck Ross,” he says. “What do you want to say? I’ll make it happen.”
Marcus clucks his tongue. “I’ll write up a statement.”
I really respect Kim Jongdae. Not because of his voice or his looks. Because of his own existence. His personality, behavior, everything about him is just perfect to me. I’m not obsessing over a person who doesn’t know I exist, but I appreciate him so much that every little thing about him makes me smile. He is like a little ball of sunshine (along with yixing) in this dark world. I look up to him ever since I discovered EXO and I know so many people who think about him the same way I do. And I also respect and appreciate those people.
He deserves so much more and it annoys me when there are still stupid fans that say “I’m an exo-l, I like Chanyeol, Baekhyun and Sehun. Ugh, Chen and Yixing are ugly” like bitch what? You are an exo-l but you say that two of the members are ugly? How the f*ck? I never looked at a kidols face or body. They can be ugly and fat, I don’t care as long as they have a good voice and a better personality.
Conclusion? One doesn’t have to be the handsomest kidol there is as long at they have a nice voice, a good personality and a they work hard for everything.
P.S.: Chen is really handsome and when you look straight at him, he is just… beautiful.
• Victor and Yuuri arrive at the museum to immediately grab champagne, say Kampai!, clink their glasses together and start drinking
Victor: A Grand Prix Final museum?
Yuuri: It looks so interesting. Brings back memories too. So much happened then…
Victor: (to the listener) Oh, hello, you must be a Yuuri fan!
Yuuri: Eh? Wouldn’t they be… a… Victor fan?
Victor: (all flirty) Will you come and join us?
Victor: Ahahaha, sorry, Yuuri is saying he wants it to be just the two of us…
Yuuri: (panicking) Gimme another drink!!
• Upon seeing photos of himself in the Eros and Agape costumes, Victor reminisces about the Onsen on Ice event, and asks Yuuri why he chose the Eros costume. Yuuri, who is now a little drunk, explains that it’s the costume Victor wore the first time Yuuri saw him. He goes a bit fanboy, talking about how enthralled he was and how he thought, “there was absolutely no other choice. Having that costume, it was like a dream…”
• At that point, Victor asks Yuuri how many drinks he’s had. Yuuri answers, a bit slurred and in a Kyushu accent, that it is only his third
• …Yuuri gets even drunker and goes full on fanboy upon seeing, “A VICTOR AREA FULL OF ONLY VICTOR! ♡♡♡”
• Yuuri exclaims that he’s a GIANT Victor fan
• Yuuri asks the listener what they love about Victor, and then yells that he loves Victor even more than that, proceeding to brag about how he skated such a perfect copy of the Stammi Vicino performance to show just how much he loves Victor
• Yuuri yells about how Victor is “super eros” and shows off his “Victor Otaku Collection” with pride
• Yuuri: (shouting) VICTOR IS AMAAAAAAZING!!!
• Yuuri corrects Victor when he misidentifies one of his own costumes.
Victor: Ahh, how nostalgic, that’s my first senior skate…
Yuuri: No! That’s wrong! This was your gold medal win at the Juniors, come on! Even now, I can remember how amazing it was to watch!
• Yuuri has reached the point where he’s pretty much wasted…
Yuuri: I know everything about Victor, okay?! I love Victor so much! I even got a poodle because Victor had a poodle, and I named him Victor! Vicchan… Vicchan, I’m sorry (starts crying)
• Yuuri sees the giant Makkachin plush at the museum and cries even harder.
Yuuri: Vicchan, you’ve gotten so big… Vicchan… Vicchaaaan!!
Victor: Yuuri, that’s just a Makkachin statue…
Yuuri: I know that!
Victor: Yuuri, everyone is looking…
Yuuri: LET THEM LOOK!
• Yuuri calms down a little once they get to the Kiss & Cry, and mutters, “kiss, cry… cry, cry… kiss… kiiiiiisssss…”
(Someone please stop allowing Yuuri to drink so much in public)
• Victor talks about how sitting in the Kiss & Cry feels so much different as a coach than as a skater. He also says that the moment he saw Yuuri’s quad flip in the Finals was when he felt inspired to skate again, against Yuuri as a competitor
• Yuuri asks Victor if it is okay for him to eat katsudon now, and Victor says that of course they can have katsudon
• Guide ends with Victor and Yuuri thanking the listener and everyone who has supported their skating, because they would not be where they were without the fans…
Okay, I’m going to address a serious issue you here; usually I don’t post anything serious and about another band. But the picture above is a member of BTS(Bangtan Boys), Park Jimin, the reason why I’m talking about him is because of how skinny he’s got(photo on the left), it’s one thing to weight and gain muscle to be healthy, but he lost weight obviously not gaining any muscle. Jimin has always had some chub on him, he’s known for his cute chubby cheeks and thick thighs. But recently from the latest pictures posted from the airport and award shows there is a huge difference of his physical appearance in two comebacks. The picture on the right was two years ago and that was healthy, he was skinny but almost all of it was muscle. It’s alarming if you ask me, he’s really small now and he doesn’t even have muscle on him any more. Jimin is known for in the past to starve himself because of “fans” telling him he’s too chubby or he’s fat or that he felt like he was too big when he isn’t. He shouldn’t feel like he is too fat or needs to lose weight, and fans that tell him he does and doesn’t appreciate his body aren’t real fans. It’s his body he can have chub, it’s normal to have chub on your body. And saying that he can lose weight, IN A HEALTHY WAY NOT STARVING HIMSELF!!!! But he should be comfortable in his body!!! And not feel like he has to change for us!!! Or for anyone!!! It bothers me he does stave himself because it’s dangerous and unhealthy and I want him to be healthy and happy, and starving yourself doesn’t do that for you. His arms, neck, and face are smaller than before. It kills me to see idols, not just him to starve themselves to please fans, that shouldn’t be the case no matter what. It’s not about Jimin who has a history of starving to lose weight, many exo members, Seventeen members and Girl Groups have a history to starve themselves as well, in general I think it should all just stop together because there will be at one point an idol that will take starving too far and have a serious accident.
It doesn’t matter what we think, we should be glad they are alive and healthy and their bodies are none of our business because they aren’t ours to own or claim. I want Park Jimin to know that he was perfect the way he was and still his but he shouldn’t have to change his body for anything. I, and not just me love his cute personality and himself in general which is why it hurts me to see him starve himself again. You aren’t a real fan if you think that he should lose weight or any idol, let them be happy and healthy and I pray he eats well soon and gain some of bodyweight again because that boy shouldn’t have to feel like he’s fat. As long as he doesn’t lose anymore weight from this he looks healthy but still he is a lot more thinner. I posted this to make everyone aware of the fact that he has lost weight, I really hope it isn’t he’s back to bad habits and to bring light to a serious issue of idols starving themselves, not just him.
me: i’m not gonna like lotor. i already don’t like the way fans are shipping him with paladins, and i bet he’s gonna be just like a gross creepy villain. i’m not looking forward to his introduction
lotor: is an interesting multi-dimensional villain, shows he doesn’t have the same tendency for cruelty and wanton violence that other galra generals have shown, has a crew of female half-galra generals that he isn’t creepy with at all, brilliant tactician, maybe some ulterior motives besides continuing his father’s legacy, nice face & voice
Honestly, I know you are all coming at Jeremy and rightfully so but screw Melissa in particular. Because she is the lead. She is the main character. She is the role model of the cast, above anyone else. She is the one who holds the most responsibility. Not only to be a good role model but to be a feminist because that is what the show and character is about. And not whatever she is because it certainly isn’t feminism. Like yeah, she went to a women’s march. Nice. Yet she openly mocks and ridicules wlw. When she is the star of the show and when taking in such an important role she signed up for all the extra responsibility. This is a show where she plays Supergirl, a female superhero. As a lead. And a show with wlw canon representation. She plays a character that is meant to be the embodiment of acceptance, open mindedness, female empowerment and feminism in general. Yet she was having fun being homophobic on camera, on purpose, at a convention about said show, for the fans to watch, knowing most of the audience is lgbt.
Like this isn’t even about ships. The actors were not simply mocking a ship when they did that. Or making a joke. They were mocking the concept behind it. They were mocking the fact so many wlw saw two women on tv and thought maybe they could be together, maybe they wouldn’t be straight. They were mocking these wlw viewing themselves as these characters or seeing them as characters validating their identity. They find that funny. Melissa, who is playing Supergirl and has become a role model to young girls everywhere, openly mocked women even daring to relate to those characters and hoping that they could end up together.
Young girls everywhere will see these actors they look up to that play characters they look up to mock wlw. These girls will feel like being attracted to girls is ridiculous and wrong. Because they saw these grown adults mock and invalidate it. This is a show for families and for young girls in particular. Having the cast do this is awful. It goes against everything the show should stand for. Everything Supergirl and Kara as a character should stand for.
Not to mention how it validates homophobia. It will validate homophobes everywhere. In fact, it already has. I’ve already seen so many homophobic posts because of this. Because the cast was homophobic so everyone thinks it is okay to be that way. Young people learn from media. Everyone knows that. Young people will watch this video and repeat such behavior. They will start to think being lgbt is bad. That shipping gay pairings is ridiculous. This validates all that negativity.
Basically, Melissa should get as much or even more backlash. Not because Jeremy isn’t to blame but because she supported such behavior. And not only that but she joined in. While not only being one of the characters in such ship, therefore someone these women admired, but also while being the lead character of the show
You know who was the only person there that showed any actual professionalism and female empowerment/feminism? Katie McGrath, who tried to give the lgbt fans watching, wlw in particular, validation despite the fact the rest of the cast were mocking them and her for doing so. She went against her cast to try and make sure these young girls knew it is okay and that they are valid. Bless her. Because she did not have to do that. In fact, if anyone should have done that it was Melissa, who again, is the lead and the biggest role model. Yet Katie went out of her way to be the only one to actually display a good set of morals and risk ridicule for the sake of being a good person. She was in a toxic and tbh weirdly aggressive homophobic environment with people she has to continue working with and still decided to speak up about it. That is being a good person.
And then we have Chris Wood mocking the situation again and interrupting Katie. Because of course, the guy that is playing the love interest of Supergirl would do something gross like that. Not only that, but it adds up with all the Mon-El issues that teach young girls that they should look for abusive disrespectful entitled lazy guys who do not listen to them and then they should spend their time babysitting the guys until they are sorta barely decent boyfriends. Oh, and that these guys should definitely be their whole world and priority. Very progressive. Not to mention this was the same guy that said he loved the negative things about this ship. Which really means he ships it because he enjoys the abuse.
The worst thing is they knew exactly what this would do. Jeremy was purposely insulting the fans as he looked straight at the camera and aggressively yelled it out. He was yelling out homophobic things not to joke around with the cast but directly at the lgbt audience. Melissa called mocking lgbt people “brave”. You know what is brave? To dare to identify as such. Or to dare to identify with a character on tv when you know they will never be written that way. Or to openly support a gay ship despite the fact they are either canon and treated horribly or they are never canon. That’s brave. Being openly homophobic? That has been standard behavior since forever. That’s bigoted and close minded. It’s cowardly, not brave.
And don’t get me started on how they wrote Sanvers into their show as an attempt to lure lgbt fans in and exploit them for views yet everyone in the crew/cast are clearly homophobic. The crew is included for the treatment of their canon lesbian ship. They know the lgbt fans are watching because there is a wlw ship yet they had no shame in being homophobic on camera for everyone to see. If anyone had any doubt about why they wrote Sanvers now they have confirmed it exists for ratings only. Because clearly, the concept of women loving women is not realistic enough for them. Melissa supporting Sanvers? A publicity stunt because she obviously loves mocking wlw and their ships.
Im not even going to get into Jeremy’s “apology” that was really him making himself sound like the victim and acting like lgbt fans were overreacting and dramatic about it. We apparently can’t take a joke. Okay, but maybe being homophobic isn’t a joke nor is it funny. We have to deal with homophobia every single day. It is something that oppresses us. It is something that is used against us in every way. Homophobia can literally threaten our lives yet somehow we are supposed to laugh about it like it’s hilarious? Oh yeah, how funny. Silly wlw thought for once two women could be in a relationship or that they could simply pretend they are in one. So funny. Hilarious.
Great role models. Amazing. The CW should be very proud. Somehow there’s only like 3 decent people in the cast now and only one of them is brave enough to speak up against homophobia. And it isn’t the lead actress that claims to be a feminist. No. She’s too busy being homophobic.
“My date is tonight and I can’t cook to save my life so I was hoping maybe you can cook something and I could pass it off as my own,” Harry says.
Y/N giggles, walking down her hallway and into the living room where she can see her door is wide open, she closes it and turns back to Harry. He’s looking at her with a hopeful look in his eyes and a charming smile that Y/N can’t deny.
“Of course, I mean you helped me move, it’s the least I can do” Y/N smiled, “what time is your date?”
“Seven,” Harry says.
Y/N places her lower lip in between her teeth and her hands on her hip as she thinks, “okay yeah, I can do that, is this like a I want to actually date you date or a tinder type thing?”
Y/N rolls her eyes and hold the door open, “I’ll do it, but I do not agree with your motives.”
Y/N is the girl across the hall who tries to help Harry find a girl to settle down with, but Harry wants Y/N so he sabotages all his dates.
Harry was the first to notice Y/N.
She was standing next to her moving truck, pulling her hair
into a ponytail with the blue scrunchie wrapped around her wrist. She was
cute-not the normal type Harry would go for-but he would still try. Y/N was
cute, and somehow dressed modest on the hottest day of the year, a white
t-shirt tucked into a pair of sky blue shorts and sneakers, Harry was sure he
hadn’t seen a girl with as much clothing as she had on, and that spoke loads to
his character and choice women.
let us not forget fall out boy is literally made up of the weirdest cast of characters like
there’s pete “pisslord” wentz, ex-emo kid/king of the chicago hardcore scene turned relatable emoji snapchat dad whose favorite show is legitimately teen titans go
r&b tmnt stan, patrick “soft boy” stump, the fan favorite who despite popular belief is actually not a sweet shy child, and is actually a married grown man with children and also way more of a music snob than he’s made out to be
joe “reverse fan favorite” trohman, actually a really legitimately funny and awesome guy who gets overlooked because he’s “not hot” (that’s a lie, send me an ask i have loads of hot joe PROOF…) who manages to be a critically acclaimed, amazing guitarist and also have his twitter look like a shitpost tumblr run by a white 7th grader named daniel
andy “i’m sorry, i made gifts for joe, pete and patrick but i totally forgot to make one for andy im so sorry :(((((((” hurley, a vegan straightedge ICON, a friend of like literally everyone and a true beautiful boy that deserves flower crown icons just as much as the other three…… a strong guy he could lift me up……. love that man
please tell me that tom did not get a mole removed because people were saying shit about it? please please please tell me that we are not the fandom that makes their idol PHYSICALLY CHANGE something about them because we “don’t like it” or “hah it’s a meme now”. this is so fucked up.
the frog bullshit has to end NOW. it’s not funny. it’s not a meme. it’s not friendly banter. it’s offensive. it’s bullying. and it’s sure as hell not something fans should be doing.
people shouldn’t have to change the way they were born because you “it looks funny”. he said in an interview that he was relatively self confident. so who the FUCK are we to try and tear him down. he’s perfectly fine with how he looks, and for some of you to make fun of it is just awful.
if i see another frog meme joke about tom, i’m reporting your blog; idc if i follow/love your account, this needs to end.
