The Polybius Mystery:

Polybius is an arcade cabinet described in an urban legend, which is said to have induced various psychological effects on players. The story describes players suffering from amnesia, night terrors, and a tendency to stop playing all video games. Around a month after its supposed release in 1981, Polybius is said to have disappeared without a trace. There is no evidence that such a game has ever existed.

The game has shown up in movies & tv shows like The Simpsons and Wreck it Ralph.

joan of arc died 586 years ago and there are more speculative novels, novellas, short stories, biographies, comedies, Big Books of Saints, simpsons episodes, movies, tv shows, pornographic & little kids books mangling her story to fit the narrative role she must in any given medium so she is more a mythic figure at this point so anyways. bitch was gay

Westworld was great. So I drew some fan art of it, based on the original film’s poster with Yul Brynner, replaced by Evan Rachel Wood’s Dolores. Awesome thing actually, she retweeted this artwork on Twitter.

This piece was massive, and it took a lot of time trying to figure out what to include and exclude, and how to do it. The orange and brown colour scheme, a very 1970′s palette, was swapped for the more futuristic/modern cooler blues of the season, with William and Logan replacing James Brolin and Richard Benjamin’s guests from the original. And so many other little things you may spot as you look closer and compare it to the original.
