the sieg heil

i have a love/hate relationship with south park because it has such edgy humor, but at the same time it has a lot of important messages that not a lot of other forms of media cover.

for example: i recently played the south park RPG, Stick of Truth, and in the game, one of the secondary antagonists is a bunch of Nazi Zombies that literally only speak in audio clips of Hitler giving speeches.

groan

but, a running gag was a bunch of people responding to the phrase “nazi zombie” by retorting with “Well we don’t know if they’re Nazis, all we know is that they’re German” even though they literally had Nazi uniforms on and were sieg-heiling.

i think that’s an important joke to have in this age of rising fascism where people are quick to defend Nazis that we “dont know are nazis yet”.

The invincible German soldiers were human too. Here they are seen catching up with their sleep during the move from Holland to Belgium. May 1940.

Swingjugend

Translating to ‘Swing Kids’ or ‘Swing Youth’ the Swingjugend were a group of teenagers between the ages of 14-18, that opposed Nazi Germany and the Hitler Youth. Their name acts as a parody of the numerous youth groups that flourished before the National Socialists. They also referred to themselves as Swings or Swingheinis (“Swingity”); the members were called “Swing-Boy”, “Swing-Girl” or “Old-Hot-Boy”. Throughout Germany, many young people were encouraged to join the fascist Hitler Youth movement. As swing music and Jazz music was offensive to Nazi ideology, because it was often performed by blacks (Negroes) and a number of Jewish musicians, the leaders formed their own group, focusing on American and British swing and jazz.  They organized dance festivals and contests and invited jazz bands. These events were occasions to mock the Nazis, the military and the Hitler Youth, and they even chanted “Swing Heil!”, mocking the Nazi “Sieg Heil!”

The term altright is an extremely broad term that fits a huuge group of conservative people into it. Technically I'm altright because I'm not a republican but I'm conservative. I guess I'm complaining because it's such a useless and broad term. If you want to attack white nationalists im all for it but call them by their actual group not just "altright" it does no one any good and it lables decent people as nazis.

“Alt right” is a term coined by avowed white supremacist and little rich boy Richard Spencer in 2010 as a way to repackage white supremacy and fascism.  Spencer himself advocates for a “whites-only” “ethnostate” where racialized people are removed.  Spencer has questioned whether Jews are people or have souls and has endorsed black genocide.  He uses a term coined by Nazi propagandists to refer to the news media and his alt right pals respond by sieg heiling him.

White supremacists coined the term “alt right” and have used the term to push their racist extremist agenda into the mainstream.  If you choose to call yourself “alt right,” this is the kind of person and the kind of ideology you are choosing to associate yourself with.  Knowing this (and having read this you can’t say that you didn’t know) and continuing to refer to yourself as “alt right” = deserving whatever consequences befall you as a result.

As Joy Kogawa put it, “if there’s one thing that history teaches us, just one thing, it’s that bystanders and perpetrators are on the same side.”

Time to choose your side, Anon.

A politikai korrektség vége vol valamennyi

Sieg Heil!
