I feel like this is something that Bilbo would do, or that all hobbits would do in general maybe? Make wreaths to put on their cheery round doors with different flowers with different meanings for different occasions, like the changing of the seasons, birthdays, births in the family, marriages, and different holidays! And then also different combos for times of mourning, when there’s a death in the family, when someone in the home is sick and warning others not to disturb them. I absolutely love the headcanon that flower language is prevalent in Hobbit culture, and I can just so clearly see wreaths of all kinds of flower and plants combinations hanging on those round doors!
