MAXON WEEK 2K16 : day two (Maxon and America)

“They slow dance when it rains. I have no idea why, but every time the sky turns gray, you’ll find them together.” I smiled. “I remember once Dad barged into the Women’s Room, which is completely improper. You’re supposed to be invited in. But it was raining, and he wasn’t going to wait to sweep her away. And one time he dipped her in the hallway, and she just laughed and laughed. She was still wearing her hair down then, and I’ll never forget how it looked like a waterfall of red. It’s like no matter what happens, they can find themselves again there.”

I heard chuckles from the Elite.
You were so bad, though, you didn’t even try one!” Kaden accused.
I nodded shamefully. “It was self-preservation.
They were pretty good, actually. Crispy, but good.” Osten took a bite of one of the pancakes in front of him. “They make these ones seem weak.

“You are not the world but you are everything that makes the world good. Without you, my life would still exist, but that’s all it would manage to do.”
“…I hope you find someone you can’t live without. I really do. And I hope you never have to know what it’s like to have to try and live without them.”

Reader problems
  • Me analyzing a school book:the mood is sad and there's like some character development I guess in this chapter like line 81
  • Me talking about a book I read for pleasure:OMG OK SO LIKE THIS CHARACTER IS MY CHILD THEY ARE SO PRECIOUS THIS BOOK IS AMAZING THIS SCENE IS SO PIVOTAL IN CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT IT LITERALLY SETS UP THE EXPOSITION AND FORESHADOWS THIS BUT YOU DON'T SEE IT COMING RIGHT OMG I KNOW AND THEN THIS SCENE IS AN ALLUSION TO THAT AND THERE ARE SO MANY METAPHORS COMPARING THIS TO THAT SO I GUESS you could say this book is written in reference to oppression faced by humans by their own government
