the raven boys maggie stiefvater

Story time: I had to study for my cardiology exam all week and couldn’t go to the Maggie Stiefvater event, so my sister had to go alone even though we usually go to these things together. @less-than-one, being the amazingly thoughtful person she is, got me a copy of The Raven King and told @maggie-stiefvater about me and asked her to write something. Today after my exam she surprised me with this inspiringly inscribed gift. ❤

his feelings for Adam were an oil spill; he’d let them overflow and now there wasn’t a damn place in the ocean that wouldn’t catch fire if he dropped a match.

I was doing some genealogy research today and I stumbled upon an article on Wikipedia about a certain Geoffrey of Monmouth. The name looked familiar, so very familiar, so I started reading the article, and the first paragraph King Arthur is mentioned, as well as Wales and Latin, and a lightbulb went off. Monmouth, the name of the place where Gansey, Ronan, and Noah live while looking for a Welsh King and speaking to trees in Latin.

I found your Easter egg, Maggie, and it made my day.
