the rain king

And so I was the beast. I gave myself to it, and all my sorrow came out in the roaring. My lungs supplied the air but the note came from my soul. The roaring scalded my throat and hurt the corners of my mouth and presently I filled the den like a bass organ pipe. This was where my heart had sent me, with its clamor. This is where I ended up. Oh, Nebuchadnezzar! How well I understand that prophecy of Daniel. For I had claws, and hair, and some teeth, and I was bursting with hot noise, but when all this had come forth, there was still a remainder. That last thing of all was my human longing.

here's a thing that I love

Fanfic writers have come up with hundreds of more or less plausible ways to get Mulder and Scully in the same motel room overnight. Conventions. Renovations. Holiday weekends. Volleyball tournaments. Academic conferences. Music festivals. Hunting season.

And when the show writers did it?

THEY DROPPED A FUCKING COW THROUGH THE ROOF.

The Rain King - Episode 125. I created a version of this poster a while back which you can find here. I’ve wanted to revisit it to give it more of a vintage quality similar to the Singin’ In the Rain poster on which it’s based. I replaced my illustrated characters with more photo-based versions plus made a few other tweaks and it finally popped!

Well it seems to me that the best relationships, the ones that last, are frequently the ones that are rooted in friendship. You know, one day you look at the person and you see something more than you did the night before. Like a switch has been flicked somewhere. And the person who was just a friend is suddenly the only person you can ever imagine yourself with.

Request 17: The Rain King - 6x07

Requested by nuniqueequeg. A funny, sweet episode deserves a funny, sweet poster. This one was inspired mostly by an international poster for Singin’ In The Rain. I wanted the poster to have that sort of 1950’s musical comedy aesthetic. Follow the project! Make a request! Spread the word throughout Tumblr and the Internets!
