the psalm of life

Time and again we all get disappointed with our spouses, our parents and our children. They don’t understand, they don’t always reciprocate our love or hurt us with words. David was betrayed by His son, despised by his wife Michal , almost stoned by his friends and he himself committed adultery. But he knew the perfect love of his God. “Your love is better than life, my lips will glorify You.” (Psalm. 63:3) . But you see, we are all flawed people. None of us can really love perfectly. Only God can. He is love. His love alone can completely satisfy our every need.

Lord, teach me your ways,
   and I will live and obey your truths.
Help me make worshiping your name
   the most important thing in my life.
—  Psalm 86:11

im a longtime christian and found out not too long ago that i identify as trans/nonbinary... im afraid that im very wrong in the eyes of God. what should i do about this? :(

“There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free,nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:28

“But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7

“For you created my inmost being;
   you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
   your works are wonderful,
   I know that full well.”
Psalm 139:13-14

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39

God loves you because of who you are. He doesn’t love you because of your gender. He made you exactly as you are and He loves you regardless of what you feel, believe, or think. There’s nothing that can separate us from His love.

I have hidden your word in my heart
that I might not sin against you. —Psalm 119:11

Oftentimes the enemy wants to come into your life and rip away at the joy and peace you find in God. When you hide God’s living Word inside of your heart, he cannot do that.

When God’s Word is within you, it becomes a deeply rooted well of living water the enemy cannot destroy, no matter how hard he tries. Every part of you is wrapped around it, and you start to find you cannot go a day without it.

If you want to stay away from sin, stay close to God’s Word. Keep His Word in the vault of your heart, and let it become the light that shines from within you, radiating outward. Become the friend who can encourage others with the Word of God. Become the coworker who loves unconditionally, in the way Jesus would. Become the kind of believer who remembers the Lord’s commands when she’s tempted to make a bad decision.

The more you begin to submit to God in this way, the more the enemy will have to flee.* You will find you’re increasingly interested in what God has to say and less interested in what the world wants to tell you. Hide His Word in your heart today. Let that be what keeps you on track!
