the precious holy spirit

Isaiah 43:1-5 (ESV)

But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. I give Egypt as your ransom, Cush and Seba in exchange for you. Because you are precious in my eyes, and honored, and I love you, I give men in return for you, peoples in exchange for your life. Fear not, for I am with you.”

I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Comforter, that He may be with you forever, the Spirit of truth. John 14:16-17
The Holy Spirit is the permanent indwelling and empowering presence of Christ in our lives. Consequently, we will never be left orphaned or abandoned by God. He abides with us and in us forever. This is the inheritance of every blood-bought believer in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Sadly, some of us go about our daily lives as if we are defeated and powerless. Get acquainted and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, and experience His fullness in your lives.
Abba Father, thank You that You have not left me as an orphan. Thank You that I am Your child. Thank you for your living presence in me that makes me a conqueror in any and every situation. In Jesus’ precious Name. Amen

Question yourself as to whether this faith is within you, or perhaps you are led by worldly wisdom. And if you leave all things in the hands of God, behold! You have acquired faith and undoubtedly, without any question, you will find God to be your helper. And so, even should you be tried a myriad of times and should satan tempt you to abandon faith, prefer death a thousand times more and don’t obey worldly wisdom. In this way the door of the mysteries will be opened to you and you will be amazed how the chains of worldly wisdom previously bound you. Now you will fly with divine wings above the earth and breathe the new air of freedom, which, of course, others are deprived of. If, however, you see that within you, you are governed by worldly wisdom, and in the smallest danger you lose hope and despair, know that you have not yet acquired faith, and consequently also hope, in God.

Elder Joseph the Hesychast

by Dr. Charles Stanley

Father, how grateful I am for Your Holy Spirit’s work and Your precious Word, both of which You use to set me free from my pain and suffering. Thank You for always loving me and never giving up on me. It is a great comfort to know You will never leave or forsake me.

You know the wounds of rejection that have marred my heart. You know how useless, helpless, and worthless I feel when yet another person casts me away. So many of these feelings originated long ago and have deep roots. But I am grateful for how You have set me free from these feelings; how You have given me a sense of belonging in Your eternal, heavenly family as Your own beloved child; how You have blessed me with a sense of worth through Jesus’ death on the cross and resurrection; and how You have empowered me to accomplish all You call me to through Your indwelling Holy Spirit.

Father, I know I must make a decision - either I can believe what others have spoken about me, or I can trust what You say about my character and future. I know what You say counts in eternity, Lord, so I choose to listen to you. Thank You for your unfailing love and for creating me with a good plan and purpose. Help me to keep my eyes on You.

In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

seeking wisdom (poem)

wisdom guards the steps of those
who turn to you, who listen with their ear
to that quiet voice of stillness
inside us, for Your voice is very near

though our breath is near us, though our tongues
speak the words we hold within our cheek
nearer yet is precious Holy Spirit
Yours the voice and words I truly seek

Preps for the apocalypse:

•A Weapon. Whether it be a knife or gun, you will always need a weapon on you.
•Salt. Put it on your windows, pockets, food, etc. Bathe in the crap.
•Iron. Don’t have any? Ohh the irony… We’ll find some!
•Paint. Needed for protective symbols and such.
•A partenter. Someone one else to help you. Trust me. You need them.
Shelter. AVOID MAJOR CITIES. BAD IDEA. Half of the population will be possessed. Go in and loot later.
•Non-refrigerated food.
•Somewhere to get water, when you run out. Notice I said when, not if.
•Walkie talkies. Don’t get separated but in case.
•Holy water, a bible and water guns. Use the bible to learn how to make the water holy, then put it in the water gun.
•First aid. ALOT OF KITS.

Add on as needed. If you take regular medication. This is a reminder to take it now, and make sure you are filled for the upcoming apocalypse. Now, for some exorcisms.

The most detailed exorcisms we’ve seen used in Supernatural so far are the ones that Sam uses in the season 3 episode ‘Jus in Bello’ - there were three exorcisms used in that episode:

Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus, omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursio infernalis adversarii, omnis legio, omnis congregatio et secta diabolica
(This was the first exorcism)

Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus, omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursio infernalis adversarii, omnis legio, et secta diabolica,
Ergo draco maledicte et sectio
Ergo draco maledicte et legio secta diabolica
Ut Ecclésiam tuam secúra tibi fácias servire libertáte, te rogámus, audi nos.
(This was the exorcism for Agent Henrickson)

Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus, omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursio infernalis adversarii, omnis legio, omnis congregatio et secta diabolica

Ergo, draco maledicte et omnis legio diabolica, adjuramus te,
cessa decipere humanas creaturas, eisque æternæ perditionìs venenum propinare
Vade, satana, inventor et magister omnis fallaciæ, hostis humanæ salutis,
Humiliare sub potenti manu Dei, contremisce et effuge, invocato a nobis sancto et terribili Nomini
quem inferi tremunt
Ab insidiis diaboli, libera nos, Domine.

Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus, omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursio infernalis adversarii, omnis legio, omnis congregatio et secta diabolica

Ergo, draco maledicte et omnis legio diabolica, adjuramus te … cessa decipere humanas creaturas, eisque æternæ perditionìs venenum propinare

Ut Ecclesiam tuam secura tibi facias libertate servire, te rogamus, audi nos.
(This is from the mass exorcism at the end)

Here is the official English translation of a Rite of Exorcism - though I don’t think the full exorcism was used in Supernatural only bits of it:

I cast you out, unclean spirit, along with every Satanic power of the enemy, every spectre from hell, and all your fell companions; in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Begone and stay far from this creature of God. For it is He who commands you, He who flung you headlong from the heights of heaven into the depths of hell. It is He who commands you, He who once stilled the sea and the wind and the storm. Hearken, therefore, and tremble in fear, Satan, you enemy of the faith, you foe of the human race, you begetter of death, you robber of life, you corrupter of justice, you root of all evil and vice; seducer of men, betrayer of the nations, instigator of envy, font of avarice, fomentor of discord, author of pain and sorrow. Why, then, do you stand and resist, knowing as you must that Christ the Lord brings your plans to nothing? Fear Him, who in Isaac was offered in sacrifice, in Joseph sold into bondage, slain as the paschal lamb, crucified as man, yet triumphed over the powers of hell. Begone, then, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Give place to the Holy Spirit by this sign of the holy cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, God, forever and ever.

Therefore, I adjure you every unclean spirit, every spectre from hell, every satanic power, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, who was led into the desert after His baptism by John to vanquish you in your citadel, to cease your assaults against the creature whom He has, formed from the slime of the earth for His own honor and glory; to quail before wretched man, seeing in him the image of almighty God, rather than his state of human frailty. Yield then to God, who by His servant, Moses, cast you and your malice, in the person of Pharaoh and his army, into the depths of the sea. Yield to God, who, by the singing of holy canticles on the part of David, His faithful servant, banished you from the heart of King Saul. Yield to God, who condemned you in the person of Judas Iscariot, the traitor. For He now flails you with His divine scourges, He in whose sight you and your legions once cried out: “What have we to do with you, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? Have you come to torture us before the time?” Now He is driving you back into the everlasting fire, He who at the end of time will say to the wicked: “Depart from me, you accursed, into the everlasting fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels.” For you, 0 evil one, and for your followers there will be worms that never die. An unquenchable fire stands ready for you and for your minions, you prince of accursed murderers, father of lechery, instigator of sacrileges, model of vileness, promoter of heresies, inventor of every obscenity.

Depart, then, impious one, depart, accursed one, depart with all your deceits, for God has willed that man should be His temple. Why do you still linger here? Give honor to God the Father almighty, before whom every knee must bow. Give place to the Lord Jesus Christ, who shed His most precious blood for man. Give place to the Holy Spirit, who by His blessed apostle Peter open

Good luck out there.

Today, I got to experience heaven and earth colliding. As a worship leader, those moments when the presence of the Holy Spirit becomes tangible are so precious; I never want to leave. In an instant, it’s as if the room becomes fuller, the atmosphere changes and nothing else matters but Jesus. The joy we can experience is only a taste of what eternity is like; I think that’s why I crave to be back in those spaces because it’s one of the few times you physically feel who you’re living for.

In a world where the battle is raging within us against Spirit and flesh at almost every moment, it’s so difficult to focus on what we’re really here for. I woke up this morning and I just didn’t feel like going to lead. I felt like I’d gotten stuck in the mundane and the routine and I asked God if He would shake me out of it. I asked Him to give me renewal and a refreshed Spirit as I went to lead people into His presence and He showed up to remind me what it is I’m living for. I’m living for the moments that heaven and earth collide, that souls are redeemed from their pits of despair and hearts are awakened to His name- to His saving grace. To think I ever ran from this calling, oh what sweet moments I would have missed! I’m just in awe of who Jesus is to me and the beautiful places He brings me to, despite me being me and my failures and mistakes. He’s so beautiful.
