the power of a voice

canadianunicorn  asked:

Can you please get BioWare to make another Kotor game and get Kat and James to voice act?

Well. I’m just one Kat, and have v little power over BioWare. This seems unlikely. But I’m enjoying the video game voice work I’m doing for Grumpy Witch a great deal and am #hireable for this and any other video game vo endeavors. Whatever Kreia legacy wants to step on me, I’m like *way* down. My body is ready.

I’m sure Jame feels the same… about the vo parts

Guys, please please PLEASE don’t do this.

Blizzard has ALWAYS said right at the beginning that the interactions in game are not canon to a particular storyline. That the in-game stuff aren’t canon interactions. The payloads aren’t canon. Standing on the points aren’t canon. This is nothing new. We knew this going in.

Information divulged in them? Yes.
They’re for our amusement.
For laughs.
Or to get the theory gears rolling.
To INSPIRE us to create fan content.

They have retconned nothing. They are being wishy-washy about nothing.
They’re doing the exact same thing that we’re doing when when rp, make comics, write fics.

“What would these two characters say to each other if they met and had to work together?”

The added bonus is that they have the power to let us HEAR the things being said in their voices, and not just reading text.

We are, essentially, playing with action figures, as they put it. While the story of Overwatch happens in the comics and animations. (And maybe soon a story mode IN game once they settle on how best to do it with the current mechanics.)

This game isn’t even a year old and the fandom already has a huge stink cloud over it that are pushing people away and making them disinterested in the game

Can we please.
For once.
Let creators create and have fun without throwing tantrums?
Please?
If you want to see your favs talk to each other in game y’all need to chill the fuck out because at this rate they’ll just STOP putting in new lines and interactions, because it won’t be fun for them coming up with stuff and they’ll just think they’ll make people angry anyways.

One of the reasons why Metzen left Blizz was because he was getting panic attacks from the anxiety of wanting to please Blizz players all the time.

So can we please.
Chill.
Before we lose out on new interactions content because they feel like it’s not worth it.

For the first time ever this Women’s History Month, MuslimGirl.com is teaming up with dozens of partners to designate March 27 as #MuslimWomensDay. We’re calling on our allies to pass the mic to Muslim women by centering their voices and stories online.

We’re proud to partner with Tumblr and our friends at MTV, Refinery29, Teen Vogue, Huffington Post and many more to bring this day to life right on your dashboard!

How can anyone participate in #MuslimWomensDay?

  • Center Muslim women’s voices: With the power of social media, we can give space to those that are underrepresented. Make an effort to reblog, RT, and plug your favorite Muslim women online and what they have to say!
  • Share Muslim women’s experiences: We’re flooding the internet with dope content from our partners across the web highlighting Muslim women’s stories. If they come across your dash or newsfeed, share them with your network!
  • Celebrate Muslim women all day! Take part in the #MuslimWomensDay convo online and share thoughts and photos of the beautiful Muslim women in your lives, or even why you’re proud to be a Muslim woman yourself!

“You are blinded,” said Dumbledore, his voice rising now, the aura of power around him palpable, his eyes blazing once more, “by the love of the office you hold, Cornelius! You place too much importance, and you always have done, on the so-called purity of blood! You fail to recognise that it matters not what someone is born, but what they grow to be!

Spell to be Heard

Grab a lipstick, chapstick, or anything you prefer. Write a pentacle on a surface, place the lip item in the center.  I chose to embellish mine with crystals and items that called to me, but they are not necessary. Once you place the lip item in the center, say these words.

“My words are power

I am Heard

I am valid”

May it be!

Use this spell on any of your lip items! Use it for poetry, work meetings, voicing your needs. Enjoy!

Various Powers of Mermaids 🌊

Weather Magic - whether it’s because a mermaid was captured and inclement weather dooms and follows whoever took them, or simply a power the mermaid has, this is something that happens often in mermaid lore. the weather and mermaids are almost intrinsically tied to one another. (ex: Sea Mithers, Ningyo, Cecelia)

Disguise - many mermaids have the ability to disguise themselves as something appealing to humans, or to hide themselves from humans entirely. the ability to transform comes in many shapes, from a cap or coat to mystical powers.  (ex; Melusina,  Merrow, Finfolk, Ceasg, Selkie)

Enchanted Voice - perhaps the most famous quality of a mermaid is the voice, as throughout mythology they are known for their beautiful singing. it is also a common theme that their voices can bewitch the listeners, though sometimes for less than virtuous reasons. (ex; Siren, Merrow)

Drowning - drowning can be interpreted in both the physical and metaphysical sense, to drown the spirit of a person and surround it with negative energy that is hard to rid.

Granting Wishes / Prosperity - just as a mermaid might curse varying types of doom and damnation and bad weather on those who harm or threaten them, there are those that will bless those kind to them, often with wealth and good weather. (ex; Ben-varrey, Ceasg)

Prophecy - some mermaids, though less heard of, may even prophesize the future for a human, though their reasons for doing so are often unknown. (ex; Siren, Amabie)

Crying Pearls - though it is little more than a curiosity that pops up in lore, the idea that mermaids are able to cry tears of pearls is present, though its purpose or reason is unknown. (origins in chinese lore, but doesn’t refer to any specific kind of mermaid)

Funny Phantom Fopa

One time I was at a friend’s house and we were watching Harry Potter. We just had some movie site on their Xbox and we started to get a little bit bored because they’re not quite a potter fan. Their dad tells us to be quiet because he’s going to bed, (thin walls in this house, and it was reasonably late at night.) My friend tells me to pick some random movie, and since I knew they’d never seen Phantom of the Opera well I had to share that. I started playing Phantom from the Royal Albert Hall and played it at a random point in the show because we wouldn’t have time to watch it all.

However what I forgot was the volume on the TV was full blast because for some reason the Harry Potter movie was very, very, very quiet.

So, full blast in this friends room, ear piercingly loud, with their father in bed, we heard:

“DID I NOT INSTRUCT THAT BOX FIVE WAS TO BE KEPT EMPTY!?!”

This organization is raising money so Muslim American filmmakers can tell their own stories

  • A community of Muslims and allies in San Francisco are raising funds to provide Muslim American filmmakers with grants to counter false narratives about their religious community.
  • The American Muslim Storytellers grant is in partnership with the Islamic Scholarship Fund, a nonprofit organization providing scholarships to Muslim American community members.
  • The crowdfunding campaign was launched on Saturday on Indiegogo, with a campaign goal of $10,000.
  • The funds will provide Muslim American filmmakers grants between $1,000 and $4,000.
  • “We wanted to give people a way to directly support the American Muslim community,” Michael Morgenstern, founder of the grant, said in an email. “Anyone who believes that Muslims deserve a powerful voice today can give directly to people who want to tell their own stories.” Read more
