the only one who cares about the well being

Besides their color scheme, red eyes and white/grey hair, Eri and Tomura come from a pretty similar background.

Both of their quirks activated and accidentally, or maybe in Tomura’s case purposefully, killed their fathers.

Eri’s mother abandoned her and Tomura’s mother is never shown but either she abandoned him or maybe he killed her too.

Both were raised by people who didn’t care about their well-being and only wanted to use them for personal gain.

Eri and Tomura have been mentally warped by the people that raised them as well. Eri into thinking she deserves to be hurt and used. And Tomura into being nothing more than a puppet for All for Ones goals.

I think it’d be really nice if one day Eri and Tomura could both get the professional help they need to overcome years of neglect and abuse and maybe even bond over everything that’s happened to them.

Why People Ship Reddie

I’m finally getting around to writing this post!! Thank you so much to all of you who messaged me (@richietozzzier @nikkiesea @coraz0n-delator @ardentverdure @fandomtrash2405 to name a few as well as a bunch of anons!). I just wanted to list some scenes from the movie and book explaining why so many people ship Reddie, so here you go! Please feel free to add stuff on :)

Movie:

- A good majority of the time when either Richie or Eddie are on screen, they’re interacting with one another. Not only do they have hilarious banter back in forth, it’s very obvious they also care about each other immensely.

- Richie is always seen worrying about Eddie’s well being and putting himself at risk to make sure Eddie is okay. During the projector scene, he grabs and hugs Eddie and rubs his back. At Neibolt Street, he holds Eddie’s face to calm him down/make him not look at Pennywise (despite the fact that clowns are his biggest fear!), he rubs Eddie’s shoulder when his hand gets cut. Just to name a few, there are many other moments in the film.

- Richie’s always using Eddie’s mom as the butt of the joke or playing his jokes off of Eddie (ex. when they go to the well, Richie asks Eddie if he has a quarter)

- Cute little moments they have together! Eddie getting Richie ice cream, them talking about something funny when walking into Ben’s room, being the only two that hug at the end

- Richie goes into the clown room (again, his biggest fear) because he thinks Eddie is in there. In reality, Pennywise is presenting himself as Eddie to lure Richie in. Pennywise shows itself as a person’s biggest fear, so at least for a moment Richie’s biggest fear is losing Eddie. He will risk everything to save him.

Book:

- Richie always calls Eddie nicknames, whether it be “Eds”, “my love”, or just calling him cute a lot. Eddie always says he hates it, but in the book he thinks to himself that he actually kinda liked it, too.

- Richie always making suggestive jokes to Eddie and winking.

- One day when they’re hanging out alone, Richie tells Eddie about all of his ambitions of become a famous ventriloquist as an adult. Eddie says he really admired Richie (although he saw flaws in his plan, since Richie’s ventriloquism wasn’t very good)

- Richie literally tells Eddie that he saw how cute he was the first time they ever met.

- In the book, too, Richie is often making sure Eddie is okay. (During the Rockfight, after it’s over Richie is the one to get Eddie’s inhaler and put it in his mouth for him, Richie is holding onto Eddie when they’re running from Henry and into the drainpipe)

- Stephen King literally wrote a scene into the book where Eddie is licking Richie’s “rocket” ice pop and it’s very suggestive and it does not seem like that’s an accident. All him not me.

- When Eddie gets his arm ripped off, his last words are to Richie. Richie is holding Eddie and Eddie is touching his cheek. His last words are “Don’t call me Eds… You know I… I…”

- The other Losers are sad about Eddie dying, but Richie is freaking out and sobbing and holding him. Richie tries to carry Eddie out and the others tell him to leave him. Richie nearly refuses to leave Eddie there, saying that it’s too dark and Eddie wouldn’t want that.

- When Richie finally has to leave him, he kisses his cheek before screaming “Fuck you, bitch” and kicking the door shut. When Bev asks why he did that, it says: “’I don’t know,” Richie said, but he knew well enough.” Take that as you will.

There are other things that make people ship them, including the amount of things in the book that point to Eddie being gay, as well as some moments they had in previous versions of the movie scripts. If you want me to make separate posts for those lmk!

You cannot care about what anyone else thinks. You must not allow for yourself to become shackled to others’ thoughts.
They are not you. You are not them.
Thus, it is only your own self perception that truly matters, for you are the one and only owner of yourself.

brooklyn nine nine is over rated, and yes I have seen it

oh cool. Which bit is overrated?

Is it the two female Latina women who are completely different character yet love and support one another? Amy who is going to be the youngest captain ever and who is so Type A but isn’t a killjoy? The person who would do anything for anyone?

It’s not Rosa. The Toughest and most independent person. Who wears black always but has a heart of motherfucking gold? Who is the complete opposite to most people but holds onto their friendship fiercely?

Or is it the male white Jewish man who calls out sexism, racism and “cool motive still murder?

Is it Terry? The black man who is family orientated, care about his girls and his wife more then his own life? Who enjoys yogurt and farmers markets and going to the gym?

Is it Gina? The woman who prides herself on being unique and independent? who is smarter then..well all the people in the precinct and doesn’t care? Just does her and helps her friends?

Don’t tell me it’s Charles? The softest of them all. The one whose been hurt so many times but keeps believing in love?

Ya know, it’s gotta be Holt. The openly gay Captain who is a great detective and has battled a life of being ostracised and left out only to find his home in the 99 and still maintain respect. Who is in love with his partner but is open about the challenges they face? Who protects his staff/family over himself? who is known to be a brilliant detective?

Are they overrated? Is it them? Or is it the feeling of comfort you get while watching it? The lighthearted humour that still challenges social issues? Is it the moo moo episode which challenges a modern issues like stop and frisk and racial profiling? Is it the femenist writing? Is it the friendships we all feel part of? Is it the cast? Is it the crew?

No, honestly tell me what you think is overrated because i sure as hell can’t work it out.

i’m actually begging those of you who attend secret sessions this era not to leak anything and not only because it could take away the opportunity from others to experience one but because taylors blocked out everything but us for her own mental well-being and safety and by doing that she showed that she still trusts us and if any of you guys actually care about her you’re not going to take advantage of that so please just don’t like i would really rather not know anything than know at the expense of her comfort and security thank you

My Top 3 pick: #2 Choon Entertainment’s Kim Yongguk/Jin Longguo (the hidden jewel)

“No one knows who i am. No one knows what kind of person I am. I would feel confident if there is someone that will care about me. I want to hear ‘Kim Yongguk did well’”

P/S: You did very well! You have changed a lot. You have improved. I am so happy you gained confidence. You made so many friends and no more being alone. I will always support you and let’s debut in the near future. I’ll wait.

ENJOY!

You both had been out on a date when you got into a fight and you had said some nasty things but so had he. Not to mention, you had a good reason to be angry.

You got out of the car before it even fully stopped and and slammed the door shut, making Jimin grip the steering wheel tightly, in efforts to control his anger. He couldn’t though. He stepped out of the car as well and ran after you and closes the door behind him once he enters his apartment.

“What is your problem?!” He yelled at you, clearly angry with the way you were behaving. You turned around sharply, with an incredulous look in your eyes.

“What is my problem? Are you seriously fucking asking me that, Jimin? We were out on a date after god knows how many months and you got your ‘rumoured’ girlfriend along?! What the fuck is wrong with me?! No, Park Jimin, what the fuck is wrong with you?!” You yelled back.

Jimin took a step closer to you, eyes red due to his efforts to keep his anger from taking a form which he might regret. “What the fuck, y/n? You know there’s nothing going on between us! She wasn’t feeling too good, and she wanted me to be there for her. You already know how hard things are for her right now, her career’s taken a hit after the news of the scandal broke out. She is not feeling okay and-”

“What about me?” You asked him with pure disbelief written on your face. “Did you think about how I felt when my man was being linked to some other woman? Or is she the only person you’re concerned about?”

Jimin let out a frustrated sigh, he was dangerously close to losing his temper. “Don’t be fucking ridiculous y/n. What you’re going through is completely different from what she is going through. You don’t know shit about our business, you wouldn’t understand. How can you be such an insensitive….bitch? You just walked out of the restaurant while we were having dinner. She must be feeling so awkward. Is this the way you should fucking behave?”

The only thing you could see was red. “Yeah? what about how I’m feeling? You don’t give a shit how I’m feeling, do you? All you’re concerned about is her.” You let out an angry scoff. “Well, you listen to me you asshole. Do whatever the fuck you want with her. You’ve clearly shown me who you care about. Go. Get out. Go to her and ease her awkwardness. Just let me tell you one thing though, whatever little plan is in her mind, it’s clear to me. Crystal clear. I’m not being fooled.”

Jimin frowned in anger and confusion. “What plan…what do you mean?”

“If she was that concerned about getting her career back up, she would be avoiding you at all costs right now, Jimin! Why would she accompany you to a public place? If you ask me, she planned this and she wants this rumour to be perceived as tru-”

THWACK!

You head snapped to your left as you stood there in shock from the impact of his slap. You didn’t bother to stop the tears. You just turned back to look at him with wide eyes.

Jimin stood there shocked looking at his hands, his breathing heavy and shaky, eyes shining because of unshed tears and his hands shaking. He finally turned to look up at you and let out a broken cry as his hands reached out to soothe you but froze as soon as he saw you flinch.

“No, no..” He stepped forward and fell down to his knees.”I-I didn’t mean to do that, y/n..I…I love you.” He said through his cries.

“Step away from me Jimin.” You finally brought your hand down from your cheek, you face blank. “We’re done.”

“NO!” Jimin was suddenly on his feet, your hands in his own, sobbing uncontrollably at the thought of what was going to happen. “No, please, y/n d-don’t leave, okay? Honey, I love you, I SWEAR! I am so sorry, p-please don’t go, hm? Please-” More cries “Don’t leave me, please y/n I swear I won’t ever, ever meet her again. I’ll do everything you say, just don’t leave me. Oh god y/n please..” He fell to his knees, your hands still in his own, looking at you with eyes drowned in tears.

You looked at the man you loved, begging you on his knees to stay and even if your sub-conscious mind was screaming at you to take him back, you couldn’t. You knew your soul wouldn’t forgive you, if you forgave him and let yourself be okay with what he had done. He had just…hit you.

You yanked your hands back and he let out another cry. Without turning back you picked up your purse and walked out of his apartment, leaving behind a sobbing mess of a Jimin crying out for you.

Then and maybe forever.

YAAAAAAAAAAS I’m such an angst-whore I luuuurve it.Tell me how you liked it babies. *Hitting someone is not acceptable at all. Please don’t ever give this pain to someone. Basic YouTube Etiquette

This is for all the assholes who seem to think they’re really Edgy™️ for being incredibly rude for no reason. (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

- Don’t type, “First.” Not only does no one care, but it is also annoying to the creator. They value thought-provoking comments or critiques made by fans who care about their content. Seven thousand “First!” comments clutter up the feed and can prevent the creator from viewing these well-meaning comments.

- Don’t complain about ads. That’s how creators make their money. Before you start moaning about how greedy they are for wanting money, you have no idea of their financial position. They might have family issues, medical issues, or just basic life issues that they never bring to the public but still need the paycheck in order to work it out. No, I don’t care how big of a channel they are. You don’t. Know. Their personal life.

- Don’t demand content from creators. They aren’t your slaves. No, you don’t pay for them. Whilst I’m sure they appreciate the time you place into watching their videos, you are not their boss and are not in charge of the content they create. If they create content you dislike, certainly speak out, but be respectful. Don’t give a basic, “Hey! Your stuff is dumb now. :I Make more Let’s Plays!”

- Don’t say, “Your channel is dying.” I shouldn’t really need to explain myself here. They know. They probably know before anyone else if their channel is not doing well since they have access to all the information to their channel. Imagine if you were falling on hard times and someone said, “Wow, you’ve fallen onto hard times.” It’s inconsiderate, and making a joke out of it simply makes it worse.

- Don’t kick creators while they’re down. This irritates me more than the “First” commenters. It’s kicking a YouTuber when their channel is already dead. “Hey, remember when this channel was relevant?” “Lol, ur channel is so dead.” It’s laughing at someone who practically lost their job. You’re an asshole if you do it simply so you can appear cool and relevant because you know who’s successful and who is not.

Please be considerate. I’m not trying to silence those I disagree with. If you want to speak your mind, I encourage it. However, it is taken in a better light if you do it in a respectful manner.

Dating Rin Okumura would include:
  • Him loving cooking for you and trying out new recipes on you
  • Often coming back to his dorm after cram school because you know he gets pretty lonely with Yukio working late
  • Him being pretty flustered when he first spoke to you
  • Being even more flustered when he tried to ask you out for the first time and his tail was nervously swishing behind him
  • After you said yes he grinned widely and his tail thrashed about like an excited puppy
  • Going on small, simple dates like to the park or the movies
  • Him feeling guilty because he doesn’t have a lot of money to take you on a date somewhere nice
  • Even though you insist its fine, it still bothers him so he saves up what he can and at the end of every month takes you out somewhere really special
  • him doing a small task for Mephisto and he gives Rin a half years pass free to Mepphyland and he takes you on a date there
  • Him using his demon strength to win you a huge plush at the games
  • Naming it Rinny, and him finding it adorable
  • Rin bragging about how he wants to go on all the big rides and then feeling noxious when he does
  • After you come of the ride he feels dizzy and you let him rest his head on your lap
  • After coming out the drowsiness Rin freaks out and blushes when he realised his head was in your lap
  • Attempting to help him study in both regular and cram school
  • Study dates turning out into cute, playful make-out sessions
  • Your first kiss was a month after you’d been dating and he tried to cook you a nice meal for your one month anniversary but he was so nervous he accidentally burnt it all
  • he felt so bad although you found it quite funny and adorable, and you cheered him up by kissing him
  • Rin was extremely surprised but extremely happy
  • Ordering pizza after that and watching movies with Kuro on your lap
  • Yukio walking in on you too kissing
  • “Nii-san, please refrain from kissing my students, and please give me warning if your going to be having guests over.”
  • Despite this, you and Yukio getting along rather well
  • He likes you because your a some-what hard working student and do well on the tests as well as the psychical work
  • And you help keep his brothers human side in check
  • Shima picking on you too but is actually extremely jealous
  • Mephisto making comments sometimes about you two
  • “My little bro’s first love! So adorable! Treat him well!”
  • He then looks at Rin and says “And you treat her well!”
  • Rin making a comment on how he doesn’t need dating advice from a clown
  • Rin being extremely protective of you
  • You being protective of him as well, but feel as if you don’t know how to protect him as well as he does with you, as he’s the son of Satan
  • Being the only one who didn’t really care that he was Satan’s son
  • Knowing that Rin is a good person from the start
  • Asking him if you can touch his tail, and after he agrees being amazed at how soft it is.
  • During breaks you visit him at his monastery and meet the priests he tells you all about
  • Them being very friendly and welcoming you into the family
  • Them telling you embarrassing stories and showing you baby pictures of Rin
  • Of course he is very embarrassed and flames up in defence
  • You kiss his cheek and tell him its okay
  • Going to visit his fathers grave with him and just sitting by the grave as Rin talks to his dad, and introducing you to each other and he tells his dad all about you.

If you want another blue exorcist character like this please let me know, I’d be happy to do it for you !!

I think Light and L are amazing together because beyond all the personas, they are both geniuses out of touch with their own human sides. And with L being the weirder one out of two, he is actually the more humane, self-aware, understanding, even caring one, while Light is the more well-adjusted, charming one with more fragile temper and ego.

Light was always performing some kind of a mundane role; a good son, a brother, an excellent student, a boyfriend, etc. Even in Yotsuba arc where he had a real challenging purpose in life and was being genuine about his pursuit, he was still low-key putting on a persona of a good son to his dad, a good team member, a good person. I think L was the only one who viscerally saw through pretty much all of that, and Light knew it, and therefore their interactions went beyond the surface, with this ‘I know what you are thinking, I know you are bullshitting’ unspoken dynamic. (So when they fought or get physical it’s also super fun to watch, all the tension playing out in raw violence.)

They are vulnerable to one another, able to provoke interesting reactions out of one another, and if Light had met L before he met Ryuk, perhaps he wouldn’t even need the Death Note to cure his tragic teenage boredom. (But there’ll be no story for us, so..) They have so much more to learn from, and with each other. (Fuck I love these two. After all this time I’m probably going to ship them forever, ok? And drawing them is so much fun too.)

No, Paul, It Wasn’t Because of “Growing Pains”

House Speaker Paul Ryan, in his press conference following the demise of his bill to replace Obamacare, blamed Republicans who had failed to grasp that the GOP was now a “governing party.”

“We were a 10-year opposition party, where being against things was easy to do,” said Ryan. “You just had to be against it. Now, in three months’ time, we tried to go to a governing party where we actually had to get 216 people to agree with each other on how we do things.”

It was, he said, “the growing pains of government.”

Rubbish.

Apparently Ryan doesn’t grasp that he put forward a terrible bill to begin with. According to the non-partisan Congressional Budget Office, it would have resulted in 24 million Americans losing health coverage over the next decade, hardly make a dent in the federal debt, and transfer over $600 billion to the wealthiest members of American society.

The so-called “Freedom Caucus” of House Republicans, who refused to go along with the bill, wanted it even worse. Essentially, their goal (and that of their fat-cat patrons) was to repeal the Affordable Care Act without replacing it at all.

Ryan is correct about one thing. Congress is in the hands of Republicans who for years have only said “no.” They have become expert at stopping whatever a president wants to do but they don’t have a clue how to initiate policy.

Most of the current Republican House members have not shared responsibility for governing the nation. They have never even passed a budget into law.

But their real problem isn’t the “growing pains” of being out of power. In reality, the Republicans who are now control the House – as well as the Senate – don’t like government. They’re temperamentally and ideologically oriented to opposing it, not leading it.

Their chronic incapacity to govern didn’t reveal itself as long as a Democrat was in the White House. They let President Obama try to govern, and pretended that their opposition was based on a different philosophy governing.

Now that they have a Republican president, they can no longer hide. They have no philosophy of governing at all.

Sadly for them – and for the rest of the country, and the world – the person they supported in the election of 2016 and who is now president is an unhinged narcissistic child who tweets absurd lies and holds rallies to prop up his fragile ego.

His conflicts of financial interest are legion. His entire  presidency is under a “gray cloud” of suspicion for colluding with Russian agents to win office.

Here’s a man who’s advised by his daughter, his son-in-law, and an oddball who once ran a white supremacist fake-news outlet.

His Cabinet is an assortment of billionaires, CEOs, veterans of Wall Street, and ideologues, none of whom has any idea about how to govern and most of whom don’t believe in the laws their departments are in charge of implementing anyway.

Meanwhile, he has downgraded or eviscerated groups of professionals responsible for giving presidents professional advice on foreign policy, foreign intelligence, economics, science, and domestic policy.

He gets most of what he learns from television.

So we have a congress with no capacity to govern, and a president who’s incapable of governing.

Which leaves the most powerful nation in the world rudderless.

The country on whom much of the rest of the world relies for organizing and mobilizing responses to the major challenges facing humankind is leaderless.

It is of course possible that Republicans in congress will learn to take responsibility for governing. It is possible that Donald Trump will learn to lead. It is possible that pigs will learn to fly.

But such things seem doubtful. Instead, America and the rest of the world must hold our collective breath, hoping that the next elections – the midterms of 2018 and then the presidential election of 2020 – set things right. And hoping that in the meantime nothing irrevocably awful occurs.

You stormed into my life like a summer rain over London - subtly announced your arrival, then burst into a confusing monsoon. I, as a deserted land in the middle of nothing, embraced you as a blessing I never thought could appear. Your words were syrup and honey, your looks even sweeter, so I fell for you piece by piece. It didn’t take long for your real personality to show up, though. From the mature boy who had a clear vision upon the society and environment, you became a self-centred person with a narrow way of thinking and a fucked up priority list. I knew you were the ultimate fuckboy before we met, but it seemed that I somehow managed to rip that apart from you. I saw what lied under that facade and brought it up, just to be tucked in again by your huge, undiminishable ego.
Here you are, standing in front of me, pretending nothing happened, your behaviour unrecognizable. How could you make me one of your side chicks when I was the only one who really cared about your well-being and tried to see deeper than the surface? How dare you cut off the wings of an angel? Your loss, babe. Run to that kingdom of lies you created, but remember, you don’t own the power that you claim you have. And don’t even dare to aspire reaching Heaven - the gates are locked and the key will always be mine.

More parallels with the anteiku raid arc to come

Sorry but I had to get this idea out of my head ASAP.

E14/V14, Juuzou/Arima, Touka/Kaneki, I don’t think I need to make a list of all the parallels so far and anyway, what I’m interested in is trying to predict the outcome of the next few chapters.

First of all, it’s quite obvious that Touka is not going to die (#plot armor) but there is indeed no way that she and Hina can win against Juuzou and all the other investigators with him (even if Ayato were in time to help). However…

this flashback bothers me. I’m personally convinced that Touka is the one who left them by Shinohara’s bedside (@coromoor explained why she would do that here), but I fail to see the point of Juuzou remembering about these flowers if it’s not supposed to play a role in the confrontation to come, especially…

since he definitely recognized her from somewhere (he says “ah”).

Of course it might be from that one time in Anteiku, it’s definitely possible, but nothing actually tells us that Juuzou didn’t end up finding out about who brought the flowers over time. After all, who knows, maybe he met her once as she came to bring more flowers? She definitely came more than once, as we know with ch16.

Anyway, my first point is, Juuzou’s memory is significant to the current face-off with Touka and there might be more flashbacks to these flowers if he indeed knows who brought them.

The second point is, Juuzou is wary of Furuta…

and of the current conflict, and it reached such a level that once he said…

which led to Nakarai and Hanbee speaking about him and wondering…

And this makes me think that, no matter how many times Juuzou was compared to Arima, he’s not ready to go on and on about pretending to agree with the CCG’s current plan when he doesn’t (unlike Arima, whom hardly anyone knew was the OEK before Kaneki).

So, if we’re saying that…

  • Juuzou knows that Touka brought flowers to Shinohara (hence him recognizing her and remembering about the flowers at the hospital)
  • but that as an investigator and Arima 2.0 he has to kill her because she’s a ghoul
  • but that he’s despising his current boss and disagreeing with his projects

…then maybe Touka’s (and Hina’s) obvious survival is linked to Juuzou not harming the one who apparently cared about visiting Shinohara from time to time despite being a ghoul, because Juuzou will choose turn against Furuta who’s currently right behind him instead.

And how could this be a parallel with TG ch141/142?

The Damage of Anon Hate.

If you ever sent anon hate or considered it please read this.

90 % of it we are usually able to shake pretty easily. But sometimes something hits just a little too hard or close to home. At the wrong point it time or you strike something that triggers the person you sent it too. I know that some of the people sending anons don’t give a fuck but this is for the rest of you.

Your words bear meaning. Your words are weapons. They can scratch us and make us angry or the bullet can hit deep making it hard to stand again. You don’t just hit one person when you fire off your words from your little hiding place either. You hit their friends. The people who love them and cares deeply about their well being.

As much as it sucks negative words are heard a 1000 times higher than each word of love. As much as we build each other up it only takes one ask to tear it all back down.

Consider this: What if the person you send your hate too is a deeply personal individual. Someone that doesn’t share their struggles on tumblr, but have them none the less. What if your words are what pushes them over the edge and makes them take the final desicion? The desicion there is no going back from. Do you really want someone else’s life on your conscience?

This is not related to any person in specific. It has just been something that has been on my mind with the hate some of my friends have gotten lately and with the amount of people leaving tumblr for the same reason.

This is not a rant or a scolding. It is simply me asking you all to think before you speak. Consider you are not talking at your laptop. There is an actual person on the receving end of your words. Someone that hurts, cries, bleeds, lives and dies - just like you.

Please think….

Pulsar’s 10 Favorite Anime Of 2016

It’s time for my Top 10 Favorite Anime Of 2016 List!

A few things to keep in mind:

1. Im not including any sequel series (which means Sound Euphonium 2 and Food Wars: The Second Plate arent on my list, although theyre both great shows and definitely worth checking out).

2. This is strictly my opinion. If you dont see a show you liked on here, Im not bashing it or saying its not any good.

3. Im only including shows I watched all the way through to the end. There are some shows I didnt get a chance to finish like Mob Psycho 100, Orange and Shouwa Genroku that I need to revisit.

With that all said, here we go with the Honorable Mentions!

—-

HONORABLE MENTION #1: PLEASE TELL ME, GALKO-CHAN!

This is a really fun series of comedy shorts revolving around three high school girls: an otaku, a gyaru (think the Japanese equivalent of a valley girl) and a sweet but airheaded rich girl. Most of the humor is sex-related and yet the show never feels mean-spirited. Definitely worth checking out if you want something quick to watch and laugh at.

HONORABLE MENTION #2: MAGICAL GIRL RAISING PROJECT

Dark takes on the “magical girl” genre have become more and more commonplace in the aftermath of Madoka Magica. This show revolves around a mobile app game that allows you to create your own magical girl, and gives 1 in 10,000 players the ability to become a real-life superhero. But soon things take a dark and violent turn.

What separates this show from the pack is the sheer variety of powers and abilities that it features. All the girls (and one guy) have different motivations for wanting to be a superhero, and their powers are diverse and interesting. Dont let the cute art fool you: this is NOT for young kids.

HONORABLE MENTION #3: SHE AND HER CAT - EVERYTHING FLOWS

The only reason I wound up not including this show in my top ten is because its literally 4 five minute episodes. But man does it pack a punch, especially if you love animals.

This is a short series about a young woman and her aging pet cat. The show is entirely from the point of view of the cat, and you see how he views the world and how he views his owner with unconditional love. If youve ever owned a pet, take the time to watch this one.

And now its time for my Top 10 Anime of 2016. Here we go!

#10: MYRIAD COLORS PHANTOM WORLD

KyoAni’s first series of 2016 was this overlooked fun little fantasy gem about a near future in which a virus has caused people to be able to perceive extra-dimensional and paranormal beings around them. The main characters are four students of a special school for students with special abilities who can seal off and fight phantoms, or in some cases help them resolve their unfinished business so they can move on.

This show got a lot of attention early on in 2016 and just as fast seemed to drop off the radar, mostly because people seemed disappointed that it wasnt a darker/more “serious” show. But thats okay. Sometimes I just want to be entertained. And Myriad Colors does that.

#9: KONOSUBA - GOD’S BLESSING ON THIS WONDERFUL WORLD!

Konosuba is the first of two “trapped in a fantasy world” anime series on my Top 10 list. This is a trope that has been done to death, but where this one won me over was in the sheer irreverence it has for its own genre.

The main character, after dying in a rather embarrassing fashion, is magically transported to a fantasy world by a goddess who turns out to be a bit of a screw-up. In order to find work in this new world, he assembles a motley crew including a masochistic knight and a mage who only want to blow things up. Sound ridiculous? It is. And it’s absolutely hilarious.

KONOSUBA returns for a 2nd season starting this month, so you have time to catch up before then!

#8: IZETTA THE LAST WITCH

In an alternate version of World War II, the archduchess of a small country about to invaded by the Germans is kidnapped… but is then rescued by her childhood friend, who turns out to be the last witch on Earth. The witch volunteers her help in defending her friend’s country from the invaders, and soon the tide has turned in a BIG way.

Do you like watching WWII-era dogfights? Imagine one with a witch flying around using a giant rifle as a broom and blowing Nazi planes out of the sky. If that doesn’t sound cool to you, I don’t know what to say. Check this one out if you like badass female leads and awesome action sequences.

#7: KIZNAIVER

Studio TRIGGER (Kill La Kill) returned in 2016 with this sci-fi series about a group of teenagers who are forced to be part of an experiment linking them emotionally. This show connected (see what I did there) with me on multiple levels. Adolescence can be an insanely painful part of life, and many people never move on past the things that are done and said to them during this time. The characters on this show, even if they aren’t always likeable, are always UNDERSTANDABLE. I genuinely felt for all of them and wanted them to end up OK. If you like sci-fi but want something different, give this one a go.

#6: 91 DAYS

This is another great series that seemed to fly under the radar this year. I never heard many of my friends who are into anime talking about this one, and its a shame, because this show is something special.

91 DAYS is set during Prohibition and is about a young man whose entire family is murdered by the Mafia. Seven years later, while in hiding, he receives a letter giving him the names of the men responsible, and he begins to work his way into the family in order to destroy it from the inside out.

This is a fantastic revenge story, with some twists and turns you won’t expect and a darkness to it that stuck with me a long time after it ended.

#5: PLANETARIAN

“I am just a little broken…”

Prepare to have your heart a LOT broken.

PLANETARIAN takes place in a post-apocalyptic future where hostile machines have taken over the Earth. A “junker” is scavenging for supplies in a department store when he is greeted by the android mascot of the store’s rooftop planetarium… who has been in stasis for years and has no idea what has happened to the world. The junker initially wants nothing to do with her but realizing he has nowhere to go decides to hide out in the planetarium for a while, and soon gets roped into fixing the projector so the android can present the show to any guests who may show up.

If you like your sci-fi with a healthy dose of feels, check this one out. Its only 5 episodes long but it stuck with me long after I watched it, and I’ll likely be coming back to rewatch it many times in the future.

#4: YURI!!! ON ICE

Yes, an anime about gay male figure skaters made my top 10 list? Why? Because its an awesome goddamn show, that’s why.

After suffering a complete meltdown at the previous World Finals, Yuri has given up on skating and has decided to come home to Japan. No sooner has he returned than his idol, a Russian figure skater named Victor, shows up at his doorstep… wanting to become his coach.

This show is consistently fun to watch, with great animation, some incredible skating sequences, and arguably the best romantic couple of the year in anime. And tell me the opening song doesn’t get you pumped, and I’ll call you a lying sack of shit. Yuri On Ice is awesome. Watch it. Like, now.

—–

My top 3 is where it gets tricky, because any of these next three shows could have been my #1. I’d rank them all at the top in terms of quality, so I’m going with them in the order of which ones had the most emotional impact on me personally.

#3: KABANERI OF THE IRON FORTRESS

If you liked Attack On Titan, this is better. Yes, I said it. I love Attack On Titan, but this is a better show.

Set in an alternate timeline during the Industrial Revolution in Japan, a virus causes people to transform into walking corpses who soon overrun the entire country. Humans are forced to barricade themselves in walled cities and use armor-plated trains to travel from fortress to fortress. One day, in the middle of his home being overrun by the “kabane,” a young engineer who has been working on a new steam-powered weapon designed to defeat the monsters is bitten by one of them… but instead of transforming all the way, he becomes a kabaneri, a human/kabane hybrid. He joins up with a fellow female kabaneri and the survivors of his fallen city in an attempt to make their way to safety on board one of the armored trains.

This show is essentially a nonstop chase sequence through the first half, and political intrigue comes into play halfway through. If you like nonstop action, gore and terror, this is your ticket to ride.

#2: RE:ZERO
I watched the first episode of this show the day after it aired, got bored, and didn’t come back to it…until about three months later, when I kept hearing people talk about the show and how it was affecting them. While on a road trip I decided to give it another shot, and ended up binge-watching the entire series in one go. It’s that good.

RE:ZERO is about a young man who, after shopping at a convenience store, suddenly finds himself in a fantasy world straight out of the games and shows he loves. While initially thrilled to be there, he finds out rather quickly that he is completely out of his element and ends up dying a rather grisly death… only to find himself back where he started from when he first showed up in the new world. It turns out that he has the ability to come back after dying to a certain “save point” (which changes over time), and while no one around him remembers the previous timeline, he does.

So, all good right? No matter what happens you can come back and fix it? Well, not so fast. Imagine falling in love with someone only for them to not remember who you are or things you’ve talked about. Imagine seeing the people you care about die over and over again because you keep messing up. Imagine making mistakes, thinking you can fix them by dying… and coming back further along in the timeline and NOT being able to undo them.

This show takes all the issues I usually have with the “transported to a fantasy world” genre and not only addresses them but essentially makes them the focus of the show. The main character alternates between being funny and likeable and selfish and arrogant, and while he can be hard to like at times, he’s easy to understand and identify with. The supporting characters are fantastic (including arguably my favorite female character of the year, Rem the demon maid) and the story has many twists and turns, with many more to come as the show has been confirmed for second season.

I’ve never been so glad that I gave an anime a second chance as I am with RE:ZERO. Definitely check this one out.

#1: ERASED

Imagine this: when you’re a child, two of your friends and a third child you don’t know but is in your class are murdered. You were the last person to see the third victim alive, but didn’t do or say anything, and you have felt guilty ever since.

Since then, you have had a curse: every once in a while, you will relive the same three to five minutes over and over again, Groundhog Day style, until you change something. It might mean pushing someone out of the way of a car, it might mean stopping a purse snatcher. But you are stuck until you fix what needs to be fixed.

Now imagine, after coming home to find a loved one murdered, you are blamed for the crime and are about to be arrested when you feel that same “rewind” effect happening… only when you open your eyes, it is 1988, you are 11 years old walking to school (but with your 29 year old mind intact), and the murders from your childhood are about to happen again.

What would you do?

ERASED is the best anime of 2016. No other show excited me, terrified me, made me think, made me cry, or made me remember as much as this show did. Even if you don’t like anime, watch this show. It’s my #1 for a reason.

Thanks for taking the time to check out my list! If you see a favorite of yours from 2016 that’s missing, shoot me a message and I’ll check it out!

“You know it’s not going to work anyway.” Sam huffed as he ran a hand through his hair but Dean gave him a hard glare.

“Not the point Sam.” Dean grumbled and with a roll of your eyes you huffed.

“Exactly. Not the point Dean.” you gave him a look “Gabriel obviously wants to have fun and mess around. We don’t have to focus on how to get him back for it but on how to get back to our place.”

“How are we going to get back exactly when we don’t even know where we are?!” he exclaimed, giving you a look of disbelief and you huffed, rolling your eyes.

“I’m going to ignore the fact that you this clueless and go look for something. Just stay here, I might have the solution.” you didn’t leave him any room for him to speak back as you disappeared through the crowd and Dean only blinked.

anonymous asked:

why do you hate jennifer lawrence?

Boy, maybe because she believes scratching her ass on another culture’s holy reliques is funny? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVSEPx1JGVs After the natives who live there and worship those sacred rocks explicitly told her not to do that? But she decided she just doesn’t care and after destroying a place of worship she actually has the audacity to joke about it because isn’t it super ridiculous what other religions believe in? Why should we take that serious, right?

Maybe because she was shocked when learning that Mystique of the x-men was outed as bisexual, claiming that “she’s old enough to have had a lesbian phase”. Because we all know that bisexual women are just going through their designated “lesbian phase”.

Or, while we’re at this topic, when she said this on SNL live: “I might dump my boyfriend because I’m thinking about being bi. Everyone in New York is bi because they’re in such a rush. They’re like ‘I’m a hurry, let’s do this. Whatever. I actually heard someone say that in New York once. I’ve been there two or three times”

Maybe because she describes her own style asslutty power lesbian???
Maybe because she believes the name “Quvenzhané Wallis” is super funny?Maybe because she thinks OCD is “quirky”

She is being celebrated because she doesn’t submit to Hollywood’s unhealthy beauty standards, and that’s great, but making fun of Anorexia, ie not treating it like the serious, OFTEN DEADLY ILLNESS it is, doesn’t make her exactly lovable to me neither.

She’s catering too the “I’m not like other like ~other~ girls.” mentality almost every time she opens her mouth.

There is probably more, but that’s what I can think off from scratch.

In one sentence: Jennifer Lawrence is the embodiment of straight white privileged feminism.

People applaud her for being a “feminist icon™” and I assume in ~ some , very narrow, specific, exclusive ~ way she is, but her racist, biphobic, homophobic and ableist statements make her a “feminist icon™” for one very specific demographic only.

It’s typical hypocritical bullshit behaviour, where we (as in “white” feminists) only care about the issues that directly affect us. We justify the discrimination, oppression and stereotyping of others because the rest of the package serves our specific cause. If we want our issues to be taken seriously, we should start doing the same for others. It’s called intersectional feminism and it’s the only kind of feminism that makes sense. Honestly, everyone’s always complaining about “how men have to become good allies too!”, maybe we should start with being “good allies” for women who are oppressed in more than one way and for other non-female demographics as well. By caring about issues that don’t hurt us directly, simply because they hurt other people. That’s what being a decent human being means.

Seriously, so many white feminists love to complain about men being “blind to the patriarchy” “because of their privilege”, “why can’t they just accept what women are telling them? What more proof do they need?”, without even trying to contemplate that they are blind to other people’s problems because of their own privilege too. And that’s what we are doing by giving celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence a card blanche for bullshit like this, because she’s “down to earth” and “relatable”.

I couldn’t stand a person like that in real life and I’m not even going to pretend to like a celebrity who mindlessly screams this bullshit for all the world to here. I do think “hate” is too strong a word for somebody I’ve never met, but I refuse to celebrate a bigoted, narrow-minded, disrespectful person like that. Sry, not sry.

Fish out of Water pt1

Reader x Yoongi

Genre: Fluff, humor

Warnings: Mild violence implied, minor injury, near drowning

Words: 2k

Anonymous said: “Hi Um I was wonder if you could maybe write a short or something for Yoongi with a MermaidAu theme???”

Thank you for the request! I have no idea if this is what you wanted, but I had a lot of fun writing it, and I think I’m going to continue it! <3

Humans were so strange.

It wasn’t new-news to you, it was just something you would never quite get used to. They were fascinating to watch—they didn’t have fins, couldn’t breathe under water, and yet they liked to just… Splash around.

Small humans ran up and down the beach during the day, with tired-looking older ones chasing after them. Some laid in the sand until they were sunburned, swearing and waddling away only to return a week later. Others attempted to ride the waves, slipping and falling off of their boards more often than not.

They were not sea creatures nor dwellers, yet they had such a fascination with it.

You liked to watch them from under the pier—from this distance, no one could tell if you had a tail or not—okay, maybe if they really looked they could, but you knew enough about humans to know that they didn’t believe you existed, so you were fairly sure you were safe. At night, the restaurant that was above you would light up, and even the blasting music couldn’t drown out the yelling from within. You loved listening to them—only last week you heard someone propose, and the delighted response when she said yes.

They sounded happy, and oh how you wanted to find out what it was like up there with them. You had been warned about humans—they were cruel, heartless, and would dissect you if they ever found you, according to your father. But what did he know? He had never met one.

Something was different about tonight on the pier. The lights were off, there was no music, and for quite some time, you didn’t hear any voices. You still had some hope of hearing some human interaction, anything would be nice. A storm was approaching fast, and the waves had gotten stronger than usual—not that it was an issue for you.

After quite some time, when you were about to give up and swim home, you heard footsteps near the end of the pier.

“Look, I told you, I don’t have your money.” You heard one voice say. “You should go ask the person who borrowed it, not me.”

“Yeah, well he said to talk to you. So pay up.” This voice sounded much angrier, and you listened as the voices got closer and closer to the railing. There were at least four sets of feet, and you bit your lip. You didn’t know what the human did to have three other people mad at him, but it didn’t sound good.

“Go to hell.” The first man growled.

There was a scuffle, then a yell, then “Toss him over the edge. He’s not going to do us any good anyway. Just as well that he doesn’t go to the police.” A moment later, there was a splash, and you stared at where the man had disappeared into the water. You waited for him to reemerge, but when he did no such thing after a few seconds, you dove after him.

You knew you shouldn’t mess with human affairs—it was dangerous. But you couldn’t very well let him drown.

You found him easily—your eyes worked quite well in the dark, unlike human eyes—and you were about to pull him safety when you really looked at him. He looked like he was sleeping, his eyes closed and a trickle of air leaving his lips. He had a gash on his forehead, and you guessed he must have been hit before being thrown into the water. You had never been this close to a human, and you reached out and brushed the side of his face—you had just touched a human! Just wait until everyone back at home heard about this. He had a name tag on his shirt that said “Min Yoongi: Manager.”

2 Yuzuru Hanyu Interviews from 2017-18 Media Day

(A short moment from Chopin at NHK Trophy 2015 * - * )

I decided to post the two exclusive interviews from Figure Skate Magazine and Figure Skate Japanese Representatives 2017 Memorial together, to be read side by side.

Perhaps, in a way, one gets a peek at the pillars of his beliefs and insight into figure skating. As he contends with the realities of competition and what leaves behind a GOOD memory for everyone, it isn’t just about fans becoming his strength, but also what he makes of that strength. Not only a well beloved skater, but truly one who loves and cares back with all his might. –– gladi.
