the old that is strong does not wither

All that is gold does not glitter

Not all those who wander are lost;

The old that is strong does not wither,

Deep roots are not reached by the frost

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,

A light from the shadows shall spring;

Renewed shall be the blade that was broken,

The crownless again shall be King.

Part 2/5; wip (part 1)

This may mean nothing but Andy Samuels just tweeted this.

Its from the Tolkien poem ‘All that is gold does not glitter’ from Lord of the rings. This is it in full.

All that is gold does not glitter,Not all those who wander are lost;The old that is strong does not wither,Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,A light from the shadows shall spring;Renewed shall be blade that was broken,The crownless again shall be king.

As I said may mean nothing, they are pretty words after all.

Shahid: (x)

The text from the Lord of the Rings poem is:

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;

The old that is strong does not wither,

Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,

A light from the shadows shall spring;

Renewed shall be blade that was broken,

The crownless again shall be king.

It says ‘wander’, not ‘wonder’. I can hardly believe Andy and Shahid made the same spelling mistake by coincidence. Andy’s is even written with a capital letter. It might mean something, though I do not know what.

“All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.”
