hunk: hey have you ever thought who shiros favorite is?

lance: oh hunk. oh my hunky honey bear. you do NOT want to know my thoughts on THAT whole situation

hunk: oh boy. ok I’ll bite, who is shiros favorite?

lance: fine you asked for it. it’s pidge.

hunk: …..huh. I would’ve thought you might have said keith.

lance: oh yeah he is too

hunk: ok you lost me

lance: look the way i see it is, pidge is the favorite the way the baby of the family is always the favorite. Keith is like the eldest son, born to take over the family business or whatever.

hunk: alright….so where do we fall in all of this?

lance: well pidge is first with keith running a close second so while keith may not get more desert at the table or get away with murder like pidge does, he’s given more responsibilities and will ultimately gain more of the inheritance. after him comes allura who’s sort of like the hot girl next door shiro has a crush on but he’s too shy to ever ask out. then it’d be you, the cuddly middle child who’s kind of left to his own devices cause your can obviously take care of yourself, then coran, alluras whacky uncle, then the Lions who are the family pets, then me

hunk:

lance: the other middle child who’s the obnoxious class clown only there to get a cheap laugh out of the audience and kind of just there to make shiro angry or exasperated and give him more personality otherwise he’ll look boring

hunk: ….lance

lance: but then again I’m not the last one anymore cause now slavs in the picture and HE’S the one who makes shiro angry and annoyed…..although, he is a lot smarter than i am and he brings out an even funnier side of shiro so I’m probably still the least favorite…….what were we talking about again?

hunk getting up and hugging lance from behind: lance you know you can always talk to me about stuff right?

lance trying not to tear up: uh yeah hunky bear i know that why wouldn’t i know that

hunk: us ignored middle children need to stick together

lance: heh yeah

What would a open mic night standup in ML Paris look like? Can you even fathom how hilarious that would be? Just a handful of comics cracking jokes about what traveling abroad is like.

Comedian: “The stereotypes against the french are just out of control now. Everyone expects me to be wearing a beret and eating snails and that’s not fair. But you know, you have to hand it to them, there is a pretty sure fire way to know if someone is french now even from a distance. Because if we see a butterfly we will freaking scream.”

I love the character specific ones, like Nino gets sorta well known in the comedy circuit when he’s a little older and he’s up there, smiling and interrupts his own jokes half the time with laughing, but his timing is impeccable.

Nino: “So, super villains.” *the crowd waits for him to say more, but he shrugs as if the sentence needs nothing else, and laughter picks up. He’s grinning before he ‘sobers up’.* “Bad news, obviously. Probably. But, I can’t be the only jaded guy out there right? Like, am I not the only one who hears ‘MONSTER!!!’ and asks without looking up from my phone like, ‘Well, where? Like here?’” *crowds starts laughing and Nino pantomimes texting. “’Cause like, if it’s not on this block man, I was gonna order in probably.’” *laughter continues. Nino waits for a second nodding and smiling. “Have I put a pizzaman through hell by ordering two large pizzas in the middle of a warzone?” *nods* “Yes. Yes i have. Those guys are the real heroes.” *crowd laughs and he chuckles, taking his own queue to get back on topic. He readjusts the mic stand, feigning apprehension.* “So yeah. Super villains, bad news. Some more than others, and like, don’t get me wrong! It’s bad, but, come one. Everyone is a little curious what their super villain is. JUST A LITTLE.” *he calls over the laughter of the crowd, making them laugh even harder. He holds up his free hand that isnt dedicated to the microphone like hes placating them.* “I’m not saying that’s cool! I’m saying that’s the way it is. Paris is a weird freaking place now, gotta take those changes in stride. And for some of us, we already know, right? Got any other akumas in the house? *he waits, listening for the three or four cheers from different parts of the room* “Respect! Alright, so I’ve got something to ask, now that we’ve got that out in the open.” *he pauses, gesturing a little and looking around, building the tension* “Be real with me… But, come on. Was anyone else just a little disappointed?” *the crowd freaking explodes. Nino waits and tries to start again but he starts laughing too, and eventually has to raise his voice to be heard over the crowd.* “I mean, come on! You’re already striping me of my free will, now I don’t even get to pretend in the back of my head that maybe I looked super cool? I mean listen, we’ve all had our moments but, please appreciate the fact that I now have to live with the fact that my ‘dark’ alter ego is a bubble wielding super clown. Really, Hawkmoth? I don’t even get that much?” *Nino lets the laughter ride out, shaking his head and pacing the stage, chuckling to himself. In a slightly quieter voice he says* “Paris is weird man.” *slight laughter* “It is, it really is. But I grew up here you know, I remember the ‘pre-butterfly douchebag days. How weird is it? For the people who move here? Like when they pack their bags, hop on a train, get all moved in then BOOM” *Nino makes a large explosion with his hands* “Huge explosion! Shakes the earth! Fire down the side streets, evil cackling in the air, and they are seized with terror only to realize” *he pauses, turning full circle on the stage before shrugging* “No one cares. Everyone looks up, sure, they’re checking where it’s at but the people of Paris have got the calm and orderly exit thing down, it’s been years we are used to it. We’re just like ‘Oh, wow thats a rather big one isn’t it? Huh, anyways-’ Yeah no one cares. Unless it’s Mister Pigeon.” *huge laugh, a few foreign looking people look confused and Nino chuckles* “For those of you with an intact survival instinct and dont live here, it’s worth explaining. That this city has, twice, been taken over by a mad, pigeon wielding bad guy. TWICE. This is some real shit. People respect pigeons now, I will pay you to find one native citizen who still has the balls to kick at a pigeon. ONE.”

and so on and so forth, with such famous bits as ‘Cat Noir makes a shitty roommate’ ‘Best Man at a superhero wedding doesnt really make you feel like the best man’ and ‘The Bubbler II: Return of the Super Clown (God Damnit)’

There’s a Fine, Fine Line

Jughead x Reader

The Reader and Jughead have a complicated relationship. Based on the requested song: 7 Things by Miley Cyrus

Warning: some swearing

Word count: 2,562

A/N: I know the request wanted it focused on one line and I tried I really did but the other parts were too cute once I started writing I’m sorry I hope you like it still. Also PS  It would have helped if Miley would have numbered the seven things because like I swear i was counting like 9 things at one point in my childhood. Also speaking of childhood the flashback actually happened to me let’s all relive my worst middle school memory yay.

You make me laugh, you make me cry

I don’t know which side to buy

There’s a thin line between love and hate. Jughead Jones rides that line with you, and it frustrates you to no end.

You had been ‘friends’ with him since you can remember, now only hanging out when Archie and Betty are there. You didn’t hate him at first, in fact, when you were a kid you had a crush on him for what seemed like the longest time.

At the 8th grade dance, you even asked him to dance. You remember what happened vividly, almost like a movie.

A short blue dress, black flats, and a braid down your back. Your makeup is done to perfection, and you feel on top of the world. Betty meets up with you at your place before the dance, her dress is a short milky white with a black necklace and earrings. Her blonde hair  tied up in a bun, a few strands hanging down in a perfect messy kind of way.

“Wow.” you say.

“Do you think Archie will like it?” she asks, going to your mirror and fiddling with the hem of her dress.

“If he doesn’t I will punch him.” You say with a small giggle.

“Thanks.” She smiles in return.

A car horn beeps from outside and you both jump up. It was Archie and his dad. They were going to drive you there.

You both race down the stairs and out the door, tickets in hand.

Archie sits up front, and so you both open the door and get in the back.

“There are my girls.” He says with a smile. All of you, plus Jughead, have been an inseparable crew since the beginning of time, and it all seems to work. You like Jug, Betty likes Archie, Archie and Jug are best friends, and you and Betty are best friends. It all just works.

You arrive at the dance and meet up with Jug, going to the dance floor to sway and jump the night away at your last dance of middle school. Half way through the night a slow song begins to play.

Archie smiles as you see him searching for Betty, and Jughead goes to the side of the dance floor. It didn’t look like he was going to ask someone.

Betty seems to have disappeared, probably to the bathroom, and before you know it Archie has come up beside you and has asked you to dance.

You say yes, of course. Archie was your friend, and you know nothing could ever come out of it. He is just a friend, this is a friend dance. People do that right?

His hands are on your hips and your hands around his neck. You can’t seem to look him in the eyes. You didn’t want to see him looking at you, as this should be Betty’s dance.

Soon, one slow song ends, and yet another begins. You thank Archie, as you see Betty coming back from the bathroom, and almost immediately he makes his way to her. He is just being nice, wanting to dance with both of us on our last 8th grade dance.

You search out Jughead on the side of the dance floor, finding him walking out of the room. His body seems tense, like he wants to leave.

You approach him, trying to chase after him.

“Juggie!” you say, touching his shoulder.

He stops and turns around.

“I don’t like you, (Y/N).” he says plainly.

A pain shoots through your body. The boy you had liked since the 2nd grade was standing before you, one of your very good friends, saying that they didn’t like you.

He turns around again and storms off, before you can ask what exactly he means. Did he mean that he doesn’t like like you? Or does he mean that he just doesn’t like you in general? Does he not like you as a person?

Your head spins as you go out to the hallway, sitting against the wall in your dress and braid, putting your head into your knees as you take deep breaths, already trying to deny what just happened.

That was only two years ago. After thinking about it over and over again, you came to the conclusion that he meant that he didn’t like you in general. It was a painful discovery, but it was one you learned to deal with, and one you’re still dealing with to this day.

You seem to only tolerate each other now, never speaking outside of when you hang out with all four of you. Like today.

You aren’t entirely sure what the plans are, but you just know that he will be there. You take the whole day to mentally prepare yourself before texting Betty.

‘what’s the plan?’ you send.

‘Pop’s, then a movie at Archie’s place.’ she replies.

You respond with a smiley face emoji, and as the last bell rings you pull your hoodie up over your head and walk to the diner.

They’re at the normal booth when you get there, Jughead on his laptop, a space open across from him. You scoot in across Archie, taking your spot and ordering a milkshake.

“How was your day?” Archie asks.

“The usual.” you say, shrugging your shoulders, “I went to Geometry class, my calculator died, and continued to spiral into the torturous hell of triangles.”

Your friends chuckle, but Jughead only raises his eyebrows.

“Are you sure that’s not just high school in general?” Jughead smirks, causing even more laughs from Betty and Archie. Oddly enough, you can’t help but crack a smile yourself.

Your friends they’re jerks

And when you act like them, just know it hurts

Jughead doesn’t have many friends he hangs out with besides you and Betty and Archie, but the ones he did have weren’t the kind of people you would think.

He basically lives at the Drive-In, and you can’t help but notice that some of the Southside Serpents are starting to hang out around there.

Okay, so technically you can’t exactly call them Jug’s ‘friends.’ They more are just forced to hang out around each other because of a common interest, but he’s still starting to pick up on some things that weren’t exactly desirable.

He’s late all the time, cancelling plans all of a sudden, not telling even Archie where he is or how he’s been. He’s dropped off the face of the planet, you actually haven’t seen him in a few months, and neither has Archie, and you can tell it’s taken a toll on him. Even you were starting to worry about him.

On your walk home from school you decide to take a different route. You had to cut through a few yards and walk down a trail through the woods at the back of your house, but the day was beautiful and you couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see the leaves change.

You see a figure sitting on a bench with a big backpack on the path, and only when you get closer do you notice the familiar beanie. It’s over his eyes, like he’s sleeping.

“Jughead?”

“(Y/N)?” he jumps, nearly falling over. He lands in the leaves on the ground, his beanie falling off on the path. He straightens himself up, quickly grabbing his signature hat and putting it back on his black locks.

“Where have you been?” you ask, putting your hands on your hips.

“Around.” He says, putting his hands in the pockets of his sweatshirt.

Really?” you raise your eyebrows, challenging him to tell you more.

“Yeah.” he responds, not taking the bait.

“Well Archie is worried half to death, so is Betty. You should probably talk to them.” You say, deflecting the conversation away from how you might be affected. You cross your arms and shuffle your feet on the path, causing some gravel to kick up and roll towards his feet.

“I have been. It’s only been like a week since I saw you guys anyway.” he shrugs.

You look up. Did he not realize how long he’s been gone? “It’s been two months, Jughead.” you tell him.

“Oh…really?” he raises his eyebrows this time, genuinely confused as to how that amount of time has passed.

“Yes. Please explain.” You state simply, looking at him.

“Why would I tell you?” he smirks, scoffing at the implication of telling me.

“Okay, whatever.” you brush it off. You are used to this by now, “Just please tell Archie about whatever this is.” you say, giving him a look up and down.

“What does that mean?” he challenges.

“You don’t think I don’t notice? You hanging out with all the serpents at the drive-in?” now it was your turn to raise your eyebrows at him.

He looks shocked, and doesn’t say a word.
“They’re making you a different person.” you tell him, walking away.

“Wait,” he says before you get too far.

“What?” you say, spinning on your heels and turning to face him again.

“I’m not hanging out with them.” he tells you, his eyes to the ground.

“Really? That’s what it looks like. And it hurts Archie, and Betty and it hurts-” you stop yourself from saying it hurts you. You’re too busy trying to pry it out of him you don’t notice that he’s looking at you now.

“Hurts what?” he probes.

“It hurts the relationship you have with them.” you cover for yourself.

It’s silent for a minute, you now meeting his gaze.

“Come with me.” he sighs, picking up his backpack and walking in the direction opposite of where you were going initially.

You didn’t argue, though.

Maybe today will be different, maybe today he’s decided not to hate you.

And the 7th thing I hate the most that you do

You make me love you

He leads you to the Drive-in, going to the back room.

He opens the door, leading you into a room with a mattress on the floor, a mirror on the wall, and some clothes and posters tossed carelessly around the space.

You instantly realize, that’s why he’s been spending so much time here. He lives here. This is his home, and nobody noticed it. Not even Archie knew.

“Jughead, why didn’t you come to any of us?” you finally ask, looking around the room, walking to the center.

“I can take care of myself.” he says simply.

“The thing is, you don’t have to. You have Archie, and Betty, and..me.” you say, looking him dead in the eyes.

“Really? Cause last time I checked you seem to hate me.” he takes his hands out of his sweatshirt, taking a few steps toward you.

“I’ve never hated you, Juggie.” you say, not breaking eye contact.

“Don’t,” he takes a breath,  “call me that.” His voice is rough and deep, pointing at me with every word. His eyes are flaring, yet stone cold. He is angry at something or someone, you can’t tell.

“I don’t know what I ever did to make you hate me, but I know I sure as hell wasn’t the one who started this.” you say, throwing your hands up in defeat, waiting for a response.

All he does is scoff.

“Fine, have fun being alone, but don’t say I never tried.” you say, pushing past him and making your way towards the door to leave.

“Tried? You’ve barely given me the time of day.” You turn around at this, walking back over to him.
“The only reason I haven’t is because you said you didn’t like me.” You tell him.

“Why would I say something like that?” he gets defensive.

“Don’t act like you don’t remember.” you scoff now, folding your arms once more and rolling your eyes.

He just stares at you.

“You don’t like me, I get it. I’ve moved on with my life. I’ve accepted it. You’ve never liked me.” you say, wanting the conversation to be over.

“I don’t think you do get it.” he says, looking down at his feet.

“Then tell me what I’m missing.”

“The way he looks at you. The way he smiles when you walk in the room. His attention, devoted to you.” he looks at you again, trying to meet your eyes.

“What? What are you talking about?” you ask, confused as ever.

“Archie! It’s clear he likes you. He has since 8th grade. I wasn’t stupid, (Y/N), I saw you dancing with him.” he nearly screams.

“Wait.. what?”

“He only had eyes for you.” He says, hurt now behind his eyes.

“Oh my god.” You put your hand to your head, bringing it down over your eyes. You can’t help but crack a smile and let out a little laugh at how fucked up the situation is. It’s been so muddled and there’s been so much miscommunication.

“What?” he says, his face a mix of confusion and sadness and still some anger.

“Jug, I like you.” You say without thinking.

“What?” he asks.

“He asked me to dance because Betty was in the bathroom. I thought he wanted to dance with her.” you ramble, not realize what he’s asking.

“No, no. What did you just say?”

You pause a moment, just hitting you that you just admitted that you liked him, that you still like him. He obviously heard it, there was no turning back now.

“I- I like you, Jug. I always have.” you let out with a sigh, unable to look at him.

You’re afraid of what he’s going to say, bracing yourself for another rejection. Instead, you feel his hand going to the back of your neck as he pulls you close, placing a kiss on your lips. It was sweet, and simple, a thousand words said in just one touch.

“I’m so sorry.” he whispers against your lips as you break apart, keeping your foreheads together.

“For what?”

“For saying I didn’t like you. When I saw you guys I got so mad, and when you came up to me afterwards it was the only thing I could think of. I was… well, I was in middle school.” he lets out a small laugh, unable to find another explanation.

“It’s okay, we both were.” you come back, letting out a small laugh as well.

He takes a small step back from you, brushing the hair out of your face with his fingers, but you can still feel the heavy weight in the air, a mix of your heavy breathing and the anticipation of what could happen next.

“I hate this.” Jughead breaks the silence, and you’re unable to read his expression.

You pause. The memory flashing in your mind. This was going to be a repeat of middle school, you could feel it.

“Hate what?” you ask this time.

“I hate that you make my stomach tie in knots, I hate what your smile does to my heart. I hate that I’ve liked you for such a long time, and I’ve been too blind to see that you liked me back.”

“There’s a fine, fine line between love and hate, Jughead,” you say, “you just have to decide which side to be on.”

“Then I don’t just like you, (Y/N),” he says. You can feel yourself stop breathing.

“I love you.”

Peter Parker X Reader - Fairytale

This is so long I’m so sorry!!! Anyway, Tom Holland Peter Parker X Reader, enjoy!!!!

Word Count: 2603

Summary: After a princess filled movie night, you tell Peter your princess dreams. Being the person he is, he decides to try and make that dream a reality.

“I wonder what it’s like.” You pulled your legs up onto the couch, sitting on top of them.

“What what’s like?” Your best friend, Peter Parker, sat on the floor in front of the couch, a bowl of popcorn in his lap.

“Being a princess. For real.” You grabbed the TV remote and clicked the off button, turning the previously colorful screen black. “Can’t you just imagine it, Pete?”

“Oh yeah, that princess life would be awesome.”

“Oh, you know what I meant,” you said with a laugh, swinging a pillow in his direction. He dodged it with a smile, tossing a handful of popcorn in your direction to fight back. “I just think it’d be refreshing.”

“To rule an entire kingdom?”

“No, to just be somewhere new. Plus, who doesn’t want to wear a beautiful gown?” Peter opened his mouth to speak, but you swung the pillow at him again. “You know what I meant!”

“Alright, alright, truce!” Peter laughed, pulling the pillow from your grasp. “I think that’s enough princess movies for tonight.”

“Just one more,” you insisted, clicking the TV back on. “I think… Beauty and the Beast should close out our movie night.”

“Fine. I’ll put it in.” Peter stood to find the disk and put it in. “Am I Adam or Belle this time?”

“Adam. I’m Belle, obviously.”

“Oh, right. You’re in a princess mood.” Peter pressed play and took his spot on the floor again, bowl of popcorn secure in his lap. He could hear you take in a breath as you prepared to sing the first song of the movie.

“Little town…”

_______________________________________________________________________

“I walked through the door with you, the air was cold… but something bout it felt like home somehow…”

"Come on, love, you’re going to freeze to death!“ Tom called.

I smiled at him and ran up the sidewalk to join him at the door of his parents’ house. Tom sat my bags on the ground and reached into his pocket to pull out his key. As soon as the door was open, the loud scream of Tom’s name filled both of our ears as his family came running around the corner to take in the rare sight of Tom Holland standing inside their home.

Tom hugged all of them before turning to introduce me.

"Guys, this is Y/N. The love of my life.” Tom said with a wide smile across his face.

Tom’s mother smiled at me before pulling me into a loving hug.

"Oh, I can just tell you’re going to fit right in with us! Tom, take her bags up to her room! We’re going to give her a tour really fast!“

I smiled at Tom before following his mother down the hallway.

"I told you they’d love you.” Tom whispered in my ear as he pressed a kiss to my temple.

"Autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place and I can picture it after all these days…“

Tom’s hand held mine as we walked down the path. His other hand held the leash that Tessa was on. I pressed myself into his side as another cold strike of the wind hit us.

"I told you to bring your coat, love."

"I know, but it’s not that bad when the wind isn’t blowing. And besides, I have you beside me to keep me warm."

Tom smiled down at me and kissed my forehead as we continued our walk through the woods. Tom let go of my hand and wrapped his arm around me as I hugged his torso. We both walked in silence as the leaves began to fall around us.

"This is my absolute favorite time of year. It’s so beautiful, I could just stay out here and watch it all day.” I said.

 Tom hummed in agreement.

"Well, as great as that would be, cuddling up by a warm fire with some hot chocolate is pretty great too.“

I laughed and hugged Tom even tighter. Tom then stopped walking and turned to face me.

"I have to tell you something, Y/N…"

 "Okay… what is it?"

 "I-I love you."

I stared up at Tom in shock. Neither one of us had said those three words yet. I could tell Tom was growing anxious by my silence.

 "I love you, too, Tom."

Tom’s smile grew huge and he pulled me into a kiss as the leaves continued to fall around us.

"Cause there we are again on that little town street, you almost ran the red cause you were looking over at me…"

"Why does Harrison have to live so far away from you?” I whined as we continued on the long drive towards our friend’s house.

"Because that’s the house his mum and dad bought.“ Tom whined back.

I giggled and reached over to turn the music up. I began to quietly sing the song that was playing in the radio. My feet were placed on his dashboard. Even though he hated when I did that, he had given up on trying to keep me from doing. Because I always did it.

"Uh, Tom? Why aren’t you slowing down? Tom! That’s a red light! Slow down!"

Tom then hit the breaks as hard as he could so that we wouldn’t fly out and get hit by other cars.

"What was that all about?” I asked as I put my hands on my hips.

"Sorry, love. You’re just really beautiful. The wind was blowing through your hair and you’re voice, God your voice. I just couldn’t look away…“ he said as he began to blush.

"Alright, lover boy. Just pay attention to the road.” I said, causing us both to laugh.

“Photo album on the counter, your cheeks are turning red…"

Tom groaned as his mother continued to flip through the old photo album.

"And here’s Tom after he lost his first tooth. He got so scared and thought he was dying! He woke up and screamed at the top of his lungs. It was hilarious!”

Tom then stood up and grabbed the photo album from his mother.

 "Please mum, not now!“

Tom’s cheeks were bright red which made me and his mother laugh even harder.

"Well, I think you were very adorable, Tom.” I said as I leaned across and kissed his cheek.

The action only made his cheeks turn redder.

"Oh! I have to show you the one of him from the time he put my make up on himself!“ Nikki said as she raced off towards her room.

"NO!” Tom screamed as he chased his mom down the hallway.

"Cause there we are again in the middle of the night, we’re dancing round the kitchen in the refrigerator light…“

I had woken him up after I had a bad dream. Tom immediately took me to the kitchen to heat me up a glass of warm milk to help me go back to sleep. As we waited for the milk to warm on the stove, Tom pulled me into his chest and began to dance with me around the kitchen.

"And you can tell everybody that this is your song…” Tom quietly sang as he twirled me around.

Tom knew how much I loved this song solely from the fact that Ewan McGregor sounds like an absolute angel when he sings it in Moulin Rouge! Tom immediately became jealous the first time I expressed my crush on Ewan McGregor because he had played his son in The Impossible. Although Tom wasn’t as talented in Ewan, I loved his version a million times more because it was coming from him.

"Maybe we got lost in translation maybe I asked for too much… but maybe this thing was a masterpiece till you tore it all up…“

"Tom, I’m not comfortable with this… I want you to follow your dreams, but this is too much. Please, just be honest with me. Is it true?"

Tom stared at me. His silence was all I needed. I slid out from the booth in the coffee shop and began to walk towards the exit. As I reached the door, I turned to face Tom one last time. He had his head placed in his hands.

"I just wanted you to love me.” I said to him before I walked out.

“You call me up again just to break me like a promise, so casually cruel in the name of being honest…“

I hadn’t left my house in days. The thought of seeing Tom was too much for me to handle. I still love him. I think I always will. I felt my phone ring beside me and I answered it stupidly without looking at the caller ID.

 "Hello?"

 "Y/N? Thank god…"

 "Oh.. hi, Tom."

"Listen love, I know I hurt you but she meant nothing to me. I love you. I will always love you. You’re the only girl I’ve ever wanted! I was drunk and I hadn’t seen you in weeks and I was so lonely and she looked so much like you. I love you. I only want you. Please give me a second chance, I won’t let you down."

I felt a single tear fall down my cheeks as I heard his pleas. My heart was pounding against my chest, begging my brain to just forgive him so that it’s suffering could end, but I knew I had to stay strong and stick to my morales, because if I didn’t, I would lose who I am.

 "Tom, never call me again."

And with that, I hung up.

"Time won’t fly its like I’m paralyzed by it, I’d like to be my old self again, but I’m still trying to find it…”

I spent what felt like years trying to fall back into my old life, but Tom was everywhere. His new success with Spider-Man had his face plastered on every magazine. I knew it had only been a few weeks since the phone call, but it felt like centuries. Tom had invaded my heart and I knew he would never truly leave it. I walked down the path that I had walked many times with him and Tessa. The same path where we first told each other “I love you”. I felt more tears slip from my eyes. I felt my heart break a million times more as I saw the leaves fall around me. Memories of the time I spent with him were constantly running through my mind, reminding me of what I had lost. I wish I had taken him back. What he had done was wrong, but if I hadn’t have been so stubborn I know we could’ve overcome it, but now I’ve ruined it. He’s probably already got another girl wrapped up in his arms, whispering all the sweet things that used to be for my ears only. He probably took her down this very path to tell her he loved her. He probably dances with her in the middle of the night and sings to her now. These thoughts ran through my mind as a constant reminder that Tom Holland was no longer mine.

Not on Your Life (Sherlock x Reader)

“Come now Sherlock. You aren’t presently occupied. Besides, we both know I’ve better things to do,” Mycroft reasoned.

“Fine,” Sherlock huffed. “But don’t get the idea that it’s to help you. It’s just a convenient way to further my research is all.”

“Whatever you have to tell yourself, brother dear.” Mycroft gave his tight-lipped smile. “Just get it done.”

“Mr. Holmes…” Both brothers turned toward the new voice. In the doorway was a new assistant Sherlock hadn’t seen before. His eyes quickly skimmed over your appearance. Like all of Mycroft’s previous assistants you were in black designer clothing. Except unlike the others, your high heels were reflective gold and probably cost more than the entire flat you were standing in. Your makeup was pristine and meticulously done along with your waved hair. Everything on you was designer from head to toe, including the phone you held out in front of you. “Apologies, I meant Mr. Mycroft Holmes.”

“Is it who I think it is?” he asked turning to you.

“Afraid so,” you replied with a slight smile. He rolled his eyes before taking the phone from your hand and stepping downstairs. You leaned against the door frame and crossed your arms, awaiting the elder brother’s return.

“You’re new,” Sherlock stated. He stood in front of you and you had to look up to meet his gaze.

“Just to you,” you replied.

“I’ve always wondered where Mycroft found all is assistants. The real mystery though is where they go once he’s done with them.”

“An island in the middle of the Atlantic,” you replied nonchalantly. “But that’s only if you don’t do well. It’s part of the job orientation. They make you sail past it so you know what awaits you if your late too many times.” Sherlock gave the slightest hint of a laugh.

“You’re an interesting one,” Sherlock began. “Very highly educated for being so young. Fluent in 3 languages, not including English. Physically fit, charismatic, and a natural leader. Your skills are wasted as an assistant.”

“You’re really keen on me being an assistant, aren’t you?” you smirked. Sherlock squinted at you.

“Of course, you are what else would you be?” You smiled innocently and shrugged your shoulders. “What’s your name?”

“What’s yours?” you asked.

“You know who I am,” he said, not a bit amused.

“Oh, someone’s confident,” you laughed. “I feel like I might have seen you before. Maybe in the lonely hearts section of the newspaper. Or the side of a milk carton.”

“I’m Sherlock Holmes,” he huffed. “And if you’ve seen me in the newspaper it would be on the front cover.”

“Oh that’s right I’ve heard that name,” you said. “I never really looked at you in the pictures. I was too distracted by the other man your always with. The cute blonde one,” you said with a smirk. “Is he here? I’d love a chance to get to know him.” Sherlock narrowed his eyes at you. He wanted to be annoyed with you but he couldn’t deny that your snarky attitude was refreshing compared to the other dull people he usually conversed with. He still didn’t like it though. Or more accurately, he didn’t like that he liked it.

“What’s your name?” he asked again.

“Your brother elects to call me Apollo,” you answered.

“Why would he do that?” Sherlock said confused.

“Because when you join Mycroft Holmes’s team you become so important you get a code name,” you replied smiling. “And because I’m a sun god.”

“That’s all you’re going to tell me?”

“That’s all I’m going to tell you,” you smiled.

“Anyway you’d tell me more?” You shrugged.

“Anything’s possible I suppose.”

“What if I took you to dinner?” You laughed.

“Please,” you scoffed. “You couldn’t afford me, sweetheart.”

“Aah,” Sherlock drawled. “High maintenance are you?”

“Oh you wouldn’t believe,” you said with an exaggerated hair flip. Before Sherlock could press you for  more information Mycroft returned. He handed you the phone and turned his attention back to Sherlock.

“You’ve got three days, Sherlock. Three,” he emphasized.

“I’ll do it in one,” he said smugly. He looked at you and you rolled your eyes. Mycroft looked between you and Sherlock and eyes lit up with realization. He turned back to his brother.

“Like I said, just get it done.” He gave a forced smiled and made his way downstairs with you following close behind. When you got to the landing you stopped and turned back. Sherlock got excited, hoping for your name, your number or… something. He smiled smugly and expectantly.

“Do tell that John I said hi,” you smiled. “And if he has the time he can reach me through Mycroft.” Sherlock’s face fell and you laughed before turning to rejoin his brother. He went to the window and watched as his brother held the door open for you, something he’d never seen him do for anyone. You must be more than an assistant. Or maybe just Mycroft’s new project.

~*~

Sherlock recounted the event later that evening with John.

“Wish I had been there,” he said. “I quite enjoy watching people give you a hard time.”

“She was inquiring about you,” Sherlock said. John sat up straighter and leaned forward a bit.

“Did she?”

“She did,” Sherlock said irritated. “Though I don’t even know why I’m telling you.”

“Well what did she say?” John asked. Sherlock rolled his eyes.

“She said she’d like to get to know you. And if you had time, you can reach her though Mycroft.” John laughed and bit his thumb with a boyish smile.

“Really?”

“Yes really,” Sherlock said annoyed.

“Is she pretty?” John asked.

“Do you remember Anthea?”

“Oh yeah,” John said with a grin.

“Anthea’s hideous compared to her.”

John scrambled out of his chair and rushed into the kitchen to grab he phone. He quickly punched in some numbers before grabbing his coat.

“Mycroft? Yeah it’s John… I was just talking to Sherlock…”

Sherlock didn’t get to hear how the rest of the conversation went because before he knew it John was out the door hailing a cab. He huffed and grabbed his violin. But before he could play a note his phone vibrated. It was a text from Mycroft. All it said was “: )”. Sherlock threw the phone against the wall.

Often when I go to this cafe in the late afternoon I see the couple sitting at the same window table. They are both attractive, middle aged, and well dressed. The one really noticeable thing about them is the woman’s auburn red hair. I’m always pleased to see them because they appear genuinely content with each other’s company. They are usually reading magazines or newspapers and drinking something. They rarely speak to each other but there is a peace around them, a balance you can almost physically see in certain couples. When one has finished with their reading material they automatically hand it to their partner. The other takes it without a word and lays it down on the seat between them. The person without the magazine drinks their coffee or looks out the window until the other is finished reading. Then they talk for a brief time, sometimes laughing quietly, always paying full attention to what is being said. They are like an island of tranquility in the middle of the human rush. Seeing them, watching them, invariably makes me feel a little better.

Sanvers just having a laugh and silly night with pillow fights and climbing all over each other and just being adorkable (prompt)

Before Maggie, Alex’s go-to after long days – the days where she needed to be alone, where not even Kara’s company would do – was a bottle of bourbon.

Before Alex, Maggie’s go-to after long days – the days where she needed to be alone, where not even M’gann and the bar would do – was a heavy bag.

Since Maggie, Alex’s go-to became the massages Maggie would give her, the root beer Maggie would crack open for her, Maggie’s fingers running through her hair as Alex laid in her lap.

Since Alex, Maggie’s go-to became the baths Alex would draw for her, the vegan ice cream Alex would buy for her, the soft jazz Alex would play throughout the apartment for her.

But Maggie still needed physical release; Maggie was wired for physical release.

Sometimes, it was sex; sometimes, it was begging Alex to shove her backwards onto the bed and fuck her senseless, and sometimes, it was bending a pliant, panting Alex over the couch and slamming into her until the were both weak in the knees.

But with Alex, she was also learning about other kinds of intimacy.

With Alex, she was learning to laugh again. More than that, she was learning to giggle.

Because one night, after a particularly long day – after a particularly bloody day – she comes home earlier than expected, and there is a pile of blankets, a fort of pillows, meticulously assembled in the middle of the living room.

And in the middle of all this soft pillow-y chaos, her head and wide, deer-in-the-headlight eyes poking out from under one of the blankets, is Maggie’s badass, take-no-prisoners, secret agent soldier girlfriend.

“You weren’t supposed to be home yet!” Alex squeals, and Maggie tilts her head and saunters forward, barely holding in a laugh.

“Do you… want me to leave? You could be alone with your… fort?”

The fort trembles and Alex’s upper body emerges in protest. “It’s not my fort, Maggie! It’s yours! Well, ours, really. I – it – Kara makes me forts sometimes, when I have a really rough day, so I thought maybe you’d like a fort too!”

Her eyes are still wide and her face is getting redder and redder with each syllable, and Maggie kicks off her boots without breaking eye contact with her, and she bites the corner of her upper lip, and she knows she’s never been in love like this.

Without looking away from her suddenly shy, suddenly nervous girlfriend, Maggie reaches out to the couch for one of the only pillows that hasn’t yet been integrated into the fort.

“Do you uh… need extra pillows for our fort, Danvers?” Her eyes glisten dangerously, and Alex fully emerges from the fort now, holding her hands up protectively.

“Don’t you dare, Maggie Sawyer,” she cautions with a growing smile, and Maggie lunges.

Alex shrieks, part with laughter and part with shock, as she tumbles back into the fort, fall completely cushioned by soft blankets and more pillows than Maggie even knew she owned.

Maggie’s frozen on top of her with laughter, and Alex takes the opportunity to flip her over, to wrest the pillow from her hand and bring it down into her side.

“Oh, that’s how you wanna play, Danvers?” Maggie laughs as she grabs above her head at another pillow.

“You started it, Sawyer!” Alex breathes as she rolls over to avoid Maggie’s pillow blow, but Maggie must know some pillow fighting tricks that Alex never learned in the DEO, because before she can regain balance, Maggie’s found her shoulder with the memory foam pillow.

“Oh, bringing the memory foam to a pillow fight! You play dirty, Sawyer.”

Maggie straddles Alex so suddenly that Alex hisses, suddenly turned on beyond belief. “You know I do, Danvers.”

Alex leans up for a kiss, but Alex comes up empty, because Maggie launches herself off of Alex to the other side of the fort to grab at one of the blankets and wrap it around her shoulders.

“Every good pillow fighter needs a cape,” she declares, hands on her hips, and Alex giggles.

“And you call me a nerd,” she laughs as she swings Maggie’s favorite throw pillow her way.

“Takes one to know one, Ally,” Maggie counters as she blocks the blow, and she can’t stop the last syllable from turning into a scream when Alex scoops her up bridal style and spins her around until they collapse in a dizzy, painful, breathless, hysterically-giggling pile on the fort.

They laugh until tears sting their eyes and stitches ache in their sides, and they laugh until they’ve forgotten what sadness feels like.

“Pillow fights need to be an institutionalized part of game night with the gang,” is the first thing Maggie declares when she gets her breath back, and Alex kisses her soundly, relieved and profoundly, profoundly thrilled that Maggie is exactly who she is.

“Kara and Winn are fiends; we’ll have to team up with James to stand a chance.”

Maggie snuggles into Alex’s still slightly heaving chest and smiles. “Teaming up with you, Danvers? I could do worse.”

“Love you too, Sawyer.”

AN: My contribution for Sakura’s birthday. Quickly jotted down on my extra long lunch break ^_^ Enjoy!

“This,” Sakura Uchiha grumbles as she drives her fist into the face of a particularly grimy bandit, “is not how I expected to spend my birthday.”

Sasuke makes a vaguely inquiring noise as he carries out a variation of his Shishi Rendan, sending his opponent flying through the air with several cracked bones.

“Never mind,” she mutters, ducking a clumsy kunai strike and using her attacker’s momentum to throw him over her shoulder.

The large band she and Sasuke have stumbled upon have been plaguing the nearby village for months, according to the inhabitants. They’ve take up residence on the only bridge in the area and have been charging travellers a toll to get by. Those who refuse have been violently robbed and left for dead, according to the warnings of several survivors.

It should have been the work of ten minutes to neutralise them and tie them up, but neither she nor Sasuke expected the majority of them to be former Kusa-nin. Even in this time of peace, missing-nin present a constant problem – especially those who made their livelihood pursuing war.

At least the Akatsuki had an actual purpose – these creeps just want to bleed people dry for their own benefit!

In the end, in the name of expedience rather than anything else, Sasuke traps them all in a genjutsu and Sakura rounds them all up. She’s kept the use of her strength to a minimum, not wanting to accidentally destroy the bridge they are trying to liberate.

He loves to talk, but not all the time. He tells me that talking doesn’t mean anything unless it’s worth ruining perfect silence. Most people, he says, waste their breath on everything that means nothing. But he likes when I talk. About the people in the coffee shop, and old cities I wish I’d been to, and which constellations I like best. About anything, really. We talk until the sun rises, and then we sleep all day. And we sing loudly when our favorite songs come on the radio, and we let our hands drift out the window like soaring birds, and we live. God, we live. Like addicts, and nomads, and kids with wicked minds and screaming hearts. Half the time we don’t know what day it is, but we don’t care. Because his bed feels the same on Monday and Thursday and Saturday, too. And we eat when our stomachs grow too loud, and we press close when we can’t pay the electricity bill, and we learn that sometimes what is perfect and what is enough live oceans away from each other.
But when enough becomes too little and we don’t even have our two pennies to rub together, he performs on the street with an upturned top hat at his feet. Old, bluesy songs about wild girls and townie boys. And even though his voice is only ok, with cracks in all the important parts, people see his long hair and his big smile, and they stop to watch with enormous eyes. Look, they point: a boy who never learned how to worry playing at maturity, his face bent over a guitar, long fingers threading the strings. They stand on the streets, a cigarette break from their white collar routine, and see in him some other life. Some different path. They see themselves, a little happier, a little louder, a little more carefree. The kind ones wish him well as dollar bills float from their hands. Fives and tens and twenties from those who would do everything differently if they had another shot. One man with a fading ring tan above his left knuckle gives him a crisp hundred dollar bill, his face lost in thoughts of what might have been. Transparent. He’s like that with people: prying them open without even trying. He sees through them, and you, and even me. Especially me.
We lay in bed that night surrounded by paper that will only pay a fraction of our bills, but we laugh like we’ve won the goddamn lottery. Laugh so hard we can barely breath. I laugh until I cry, and he holds me in his hands and tells me that when he has the money, he’ll buy me a ring and make this whole shindig official. My voice raw with tears, I tell him he better.
And he has the warmest hands with callouses on all the fingertips, which I don’t think anyone else knows. Not like I know. Not like they feel them against their palm and cheek and thigh in the middle of the night. I like that I hold a million tiny fragments of him that no one else has even touched. Like he calls his sister twice a week to make sure she’s not using again, and he only watches scary movies because they make my blood flow faster, and he’s an all consuming, thousand-watt, stars in his eyes kind of person. The kind people want to be around without ever knowing why. The kind who tells you he loves you and really means it.
He only says it sometimes. When it’s just us two and the perfect silence is worth being broken. And I trace road maps across the skin of his back, and I wonder. I wonder what I did to deserve all this. The affection, and the easy smiles, and the list of kid names we like tucked away in his desk drawer. Shuffled between coins and nicotine gum. And then his breath is heavy in my hair. I never fall asleep before him because I don’t know how to stop thinking. I wonder and I wonder and I wonder how I ever thought I’d be better off on my own. And he pulls me closer. Whispers my name like a promise. All the world stands still for just this moment. And I wonder how a person- one single, broken person- can come along and make so much sense.
—  I hope you find this kind of love, and I hope you never let it go.
