WH official: We'll say 'fake news' until media realizes attitude of attacking the President is wrong
Sebastian Gorka, deputy assistant to President Donald Trump, said Monday that the administration will continue using the term "fake news" until the media understands that their "monumental desire" to attack the President is wrong.
By Chris Massie, CNN

Sebastian Gorka, deputy assistant to President Donald Trump, said Monday that the administration will continue using the term “fake news” until the media understands that their “monumental desire” to attack the President is wrong.

“There is a monumental desire on behalf of the majority of the media, not just the pollsters, the majority of the media to attack a duly elected President in the second week of his term,” Gorka, a former Breitbart editor who also holds a PhD in political science, told syndicated conservative radio host Michael Medved.  “That’s how unhealthy the situation is and until the media understands how wrong that attitude is, and how it hurts their credibility, we are going to continue to say, ‘fake news.'  I’m sorry, Michael.  That’s the reality,” he added.

Trump and his staff have repeatedly used the term “fake news” to discredit reporting on the presidential administration from mainstream outlets such as CNN and The New York Times, often offering no evidence to back up their disputes with those outlets’ stories.

Earlier in the interview, Gorka was asked by Medved whether he would acknowledge that the administration’s controversial statement on Holocaust Remembrance Day was “at least questionable in being the first such statement in many years that didn’t recognize that Jewish extermination was the chief goal of the Holocaust.”

Gorka replied by calling criticism of the statement “asinine,” arguing that it was motivated by the media’s desire to attack Trump.

“It’s a Holocaust remembrance statement,” Gorka said.  “No, I’m not going to admit it.  Because it’s asinine.  It’s absurd.  You’re making a statement about the Holocaust.  Of course it’s about the Holocaust because that’s what the statement’s about.  It’s only reasonable to twist it if your objective is to attack the President.”

Gorka also sparred with a caller who contended that “every time you call everything fake news, it just turns everyone except your hardcore fans off.”

“Not everything’s fake news,” the caller added.

“You know, I would beg to differ,” Gorka shot back.  “Every single organ that generates these kinds of stories comes from the same clique of media organs that predicted that Hillary (Clinton) would win and that Brexit wouldn’t occur.  I know what fake news is.  And it’s coming from those organizations. It’s time that you yourself understood that as well."

So the Trump Administration outright says they’ll continue to de-legitimize the media until they toe the line and stop "attacking” (i.e. disagreeing with, or presenting facts that disagree with) the President and his agenda.

THIS IS NOT NORMAL!

"Relationships in books are unrealistic"

Why is it “unrealistic” to want someone as patient as Sam?

Why is it “unrealistic” to want someone who cares and loves you unconditionally and does everything in their power to make you feel safe like Rhys?

Why is it so “unrealistic” to want someone who loves you for what you are, even if you’re completely shattered and broken like Rowan?

Why is it unrealistic to want to help each other grow like rowaelin?

Why is it unrealistic to show each other true emotions and not hold back like feysand?

I don’t understand why thats “unrealistic” Are my “standards to high”? Why is it wrong for me to want these things? People tell me constantly my standards are to high and I don’t understand why. I want someone who truly loves me for me, not to date people to look cute and be “goals” on twitter. And don’t tell me to give someone a chance when they straight up ask to date. I want them to know me, the REAL me. Not none of that “slide into their dms” shit.

Why is it so unrealistic?
I’m just going to have to wait.
Sorry I just needed to rant

Why are the gods so displeased that they have sent the four horseman of the apocalypse into the wlw community?

Conquest : Queerbaiting and badly written shows.
War : Division in the community over petty shipping wars
Famine : Lack of good representation or 3 minutes of screen time.
Death : literal death to wlw characters. rip.

I would like to tell you a story, if you’re willing to listen.

It’s the story of how, four years ago, I was depressed. Few people noticed, because I was a “good kid” who had straight A’s, didn’t get into fights or talk back, didn’t do drugs or drink alcohol. I didn’t fit the “type” so I flew under the radar. Six months later, I was self harming and severely suicidal. I tried to kill myself three times in the span of two years, until Fall 2015, when I stopped going to school and it became obvious that I was not okay. My mom (my wonderful, strong mom) reached out to my school and that kickstarted the process of therapy. It took me 18 months and a hell of a lot of fighting against myself, but I’m happy to say that I no longer consider suicide an option for myself. It doesn’t flash in the back of my mind like an emergency exit sign anymore.

My point here is, being suicidal does not signify the end of your story. That is why I hate seeing hype around a certain show, that I’ll keep unnamed because I don’t want to give it more advertisement than its already gotten, that romanticizes suicide. It makes it look like the ultimate revenge, the biggest “fuck you” to everyone who did you wrong. Let me tell you, that’s not right. Want to know the ultimate revenge against those who wronged you? Living, saying “I’m still here despite all you’ve put me through.” Not a series of tapes putting the blame of your death on everyone around you.

I’m not posting this for pity or anything of that flavour. I’m posting this because it seems to be the only way I have left to try and make you understand why media like this is so toxic, and how wrong those narratives are. Truth is, most people, as far as my experience goes, have considered suicide at some point in their life, and the solution to the suicide pandemic in our society is not some show glorifying it on Netflix. That’s all I have to say.

Media is really influential to young kids, but in all the wrong ways.

In 2nd or 3rd grade, I saw the SpongeBob episode where he said he’s wearing three pairs of underwear, so I wore three pairs of underwear, one on top of the other, to summer camp the next day. Needless to say, I was very uncomfortable and sweaty that day.

A gunman opened fire during an early morning baseball practice for Republican members of Congress on Wednesday, reportedly firing dozens of shots at a field in Alexandria, Va. The victims include Majority Whip Steve Scalise of Louisiana, Rep. Mo Brooks of Alabama told CNN.

“Suspect is in custody and not a threat,” the Alexandria Police Department tweeted. The agency says the victims are being transported to the hospital.

The shooting occurred around 7 a.m. ET in the Del Ray area of Alexandria, just south of Washington, D.C. Afterward, a helicopter arrived to medevac at least one victim.

The shooter opened fire at a baseball field at Eugene Simpson Stadium Park, across the street from Alexandria’s YMCA, according to accounts from witnesses and police.

At least five people were wounded, Brooks said, naming Scalise along with a congressional staff member, two law enforcement officers and another officer who was either with the Capitol Police or Secret Service.

Daedric Princes, Loosely Interpreted
  • Molag Bal: Prince of bosses who call their employees "family" when they're in a good mood but exploit and underpay them consistently
  • Nocturnal: Prince of greasy goth dudes who only come out of their house at night to go to underground speakeasy bars
  • Peryite: Prince of peak hour train passengers who smell bad and not being able to sleep because there's a mosquito hovering around somewhere (or maybe it's just tinnitus??)
  • Mephala: Prince of kinks you didn't know existed and Deep Web drug dealing
  • Sheogorath: Prince of neurotypicals who think mental illness is quirky and at some point in their life had a "random" phase
  • Jyggalag: Prince of DM's who insist on players following the narrative they decided on in advance that get mad when players attempt to circumvent their rules creatively
  • Namira: Prince of making people profoundly uncomfortable by telling them things about you they really don't want to know
  • Hermaeus Mora: Prince of Sapiosexuality, Lovecraft's better known works and Deviantart
  • Azura: Prince of being so out of touch you don't see what's wrong with constantly spending money on clothes, wearing them once, then throwing them out
  • Mehrunes Dagon: Prince of temper tantrums in public because the manager won't refund the item you bought at a different store over a year and a half ago
  • Sanguine: Prince of Goon Sacks pegged on the washing line and a long cycle of snacking while you wait for other snacks to cook
  • Meridia: Prince of university political groups that have similar ideals to you but thrive on creating petty drama and are really only involved for what it can do for their resume
  • Hircine: Prince of having pay tv but only the sport channels and believing that killing animals is a good, character building exercise for boys
  • Vaermina: Prince of using drugs in the hopes of having a life changing epiphany only for it to reduce you to a twitching heap of regret
  • Clavicus Vile: Prince of taking advantage of new players in MMO's by befriending them and convincing them to give you all their good loot and ripping them off when trading
  • Boethiah: Prince of smirking and sneering alternatively as you scroll through social media of people who Wronged you in high school
  • Malacath: Prince of overcompensating for loneliness by being outwardly cynical, standoffish and aggressive

I just don’t get it. People want LGBTQ+ and mental illnesses normalised, but whenever there are realistic or just different depictions of it in fiction, where they may not be the main focus of the story, or the story may not bother to be a “good representation” like KS it’s “not healthy” and “fetishised” or something.

Depicting those people happy is not realistic, unrelatable and insulting because “you are ignoring the struggles of the people”, and depicting those people upset and struggling is unhealthy and “you are making people who chose to view this media struggle and get wrong ideas about how relationships of these people may work even though the fiction makes no point in telling this is a healthy depiction”?

You want it to be normalised, like healthy and straight relationships or characters, but you don’t want those things to be explored thoroughly with fiction, like…I don’t understand.

If you want healthy depictions, look elsewhere. Read a pamphlet or a children’s book. You are obviously not ready to consume media in a way that you try to digest it and think about it and understand what it means or may mean instead of just staring at your screen for 5 seconds and jumping onto the first thing you think but never get much farther.

There’s tons and TONS of literature and art and fiction and series out there with a million different depictions of what you are looking for, and if you are only looking at one depiction of it, reading it over and over again, and whining that you are still unable to find what you are looking for, maybe you are not doing it correctly.

Nobody will censor themselves because you take what you read too literally and can’t think over it, because you are blinded by thinking everyone is out there to get you. You can’t go out there and “fix” everyone you see and how they think.

People are unable to consume art anymore because they are so ready to start shouting and crying at the slightest hint of discomfort or thought provoking they may come across while that’s the point of art.

He wouldn’t want to break up with you. He would be calm and tell you that the scandal isn’t real. He would tell you that the girl was just someone he was doing a duet with. He told you you guys can get through this together.

He wouldn’t even know why you were upset at first. You would have to tell him and he would let you know that the scandal isn’t real. He would be freaking out and you would know because he would be slightly shaking after he figured out you were serious about breaking up.

He would be pissed that you didn’t trust him and he would honestly think if you can’t trust him then you don’t deserve him. When you actually leave he would realize that he loves you and he would get Namjoon to get the company to deny the scandal and he would go to you and apologize.
