Thank you penandpaperss for tagging me. I though that it would be fun to answer so..
RULES: ANSWER THE QUESTIONS FROM THE PERSON WHO TAGGED YOU.
TAG 11 PEOPLE.
1. Have you ever stolen a book? What book?
Not really stolen. There was this Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets paperback that was left in our classroom way back in high school. We have block sections and I asked my classmates if they own the book. No one claimed it so I decided to turn it over to our adviser. For months, no one turned up to claim it. When the school year ended, I was part of the clean-up committee and we were in charge of the lost-and-found items. Since the book was still there, my partner told me to just get it since I love books. I asked permission from the teacher and she allowed me. So yeah, that how I got an extra copy of HPCoS.
2. Which author has a name you love to say?
Leigh Bardugo, Jostein Gaarder and Tahereh Mafi. Don’t ask why. I don’t know either. Hahaha.
3. Have you ever bought a book twice on accident?
Nope. The book catalog I have in my mind is great that way. Even though I own 500+ books, I never forget which ones I already own.
4. Do you have to visualize characters as you read?
Part of the reason why I actually enjoy reading is the freedom it gives my mind to imagine and visualize characters, scenarios, etc. The possibilities are endless inside my head. It’s why I prefer reading to watching TV or movies. I get to control things in my head the way I want them to look or feel.
5. Would you buy a foreign edition of a book just for the cover? If so (or if you have) which cover are we talking about here?
If I could (if I was filthy fucking rich), I would all the editions of the Harry Potter series and The Night Circus. Never mind that I don’t understand the language. I could stare at their beauty all day.
6. Do you consider yourself a collector of books? Or a reader? Or both?
I consider myself both. Yes, indeed, I am a reader. I live for reading. As for a collector, I do tend to pick which ones I collect. I own multiple copies of books just because. And I have bought books just because I want to own them, even though I do not know if I’ll ever get to read them in the future. I also consider myself a collector because I aim to have a huge personal library in the future.
7. Neil Gaiman. Yay or nay? I can’t figure it out.
YES. DEFINITELY YES. His writing is super and uniquely fascinating. I love the eerie feel of his books and the way I get lost in his words.
8. The one author from whom you own/have read everything.
Sarah J. Maas. Hello, Throne of Glass series. BEST EVER. Also, A Court of Thorns and Roses got me so hooked and I’m pretty sure I’d buy the next books in the series. Auto-buy author. I swear.
One other is Sarah Dessen. She was my favorite YA contemporary author when I was in high school and I own and read all of her books except for the latest, Saint Anything, which I am planning to buy soon.
9. A book that was so bad that you were angry at it, or that you had to quit because you couldn’t take it anymore.
Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire (The abusive relationship in this book is just.. NOPE).
These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner (it’s one of those books that everyone loved and I somehow cannot stand)
Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James (Uhh do I even need to give you guys a reason)
10. Literary tea party. You are allowed 7 guests, who do you invite? (characters, authors…)
J.K. Rowling (definitely. I mean I could have tea with just her and I’d be flippin’ ecstatic), Celaena Sardothien (my baby from Throne of Glass), Katsa (the badass bitch from Graceling), Hermione Granger (duh), James Carstairs (TID bae), Magnus Bane (who wouldn’t invite him?), and Fred & George Weasley (they come together. okay. no arguments.)
11. What book has the worst title?
The Haunted Vagina by Carlton Mellick III. And if the title isn’t weird enough for you, then take a look at what this book is about here.
