Worth the Wait

(You aren’t sure why your boyfriend Jimin has taken things so slowly but you are now finally ready to have your first night together.)

Warning: Romantic smut, hand-job, oral, intercourse, grinding, masturbation

The first time you saw Jimin was while you were working as a production intern at a broadcast station. It was your first week doing a rotation for a music show.  On show days, you were supposed to escort the talent from their dressing room to the stage and make sure they had everything they needed for a successful performance. BTS was performing that week and as you walked them to the stage, you could feel Jimin staring at you the entire time.  You waited with them in the wings while stage hands cleared off what was left from the previous group.  You could see Jimin continuing to stare at you.  Every time you looked in his direction, he looked away, but you could clearly see him from the corner of your eye.

After waiting in silence for a few minutes, Jimin finally turned to you and spoke.  “I don’t think I’ve seen you here before.  Are you new?”

“I’m an intern.  It’s my first week doing a rotation for this program.”

“Ah. I see,” he replied. He said nothing further.

The second time you saw Jimin was at the following week’s filming.  Their manager was asking you about making changes to the lighting set up and you were taking notes on what he wanted.  You saw Jimin looking at you again.  He was standing separate from the other members, inching his way towards you as if wasn’t sure if he wanted to approach you or not.  When you finished speaking to the manager, you turned towards him.

“Hi,” he said.

“Hi,” you responded. “I saw you looking at me.  Was there something you wanted?”

“Oh, that, um… uh… no, not really.”  You turned to walk away when he stopped you.  “I guess there was one thing.  I forgot to ask you your name last week.”

You told him your name and he just stood their grinning before remembering to formally introduce himself.  “I’m Park Jimin.”

“I know,” you said.

“Ah,” he said, “of course you already know that.”  He stood there in silence.

“I’ve got to go find the stage manager to tell him you guys want to change the lighting.”

Jimin just smiled and nodded, giving you a small bow and a wave good-bye.  As you turned to leave the room, you could see Jimin’s reflection in the dressing room mirror; he was kicking the ground and hitting himself in the head out of embarrassment.  You thought it was cute how awkward he was in front of you.

The Preschool Teacher - Chapter Four

“Don’t mess with it, you’re going to mess it up!” Harry told his son, trying to adjust the makeshift Halloween costume he was attempting to create.

“It’s scratchy!” Jack complained.

Exasperated, Harry pulled the offending item off of his son and blubbered his lips in frustration.

“What are we goin’ to do about a costume?” Harry asked, looking at his son’s same perplexed look he knew he must also be wearing. “Autumn Festival’s tomorrow, and we’ve yet to figure out a costume.”

Connected — Jung Hoseok (04)

Words: 2110

Warnings: Fluff, Internet best friend!Hoseok :)

Description: You and Hoseok are internet friends with secret feelings for each other. The only problem (besides the distance) is that you’re both in relationships with other people.

[01] [02] [03] [04] [05] [06] [07]

“Y/n-ah! There’s only three more weeks until I get to see you! It’s gonna be amazing!” Hoseok smiles.

“I know! I can’t wait!” You smile.

“I have a secret to tell you.” He says.

“What is it?” You asked, being more interested in the conversation.

“You know how you gave Joshua a second chance after everything that happened?” He asks.

“Yes.” You nod, curious about what the secret was.

“Well, I decided to give Jae a second chance. We’re dating again!” Hoseok smiles.

Others would’ve expected you to smile, but you didn’t. You weren’t happy at all.

“Why aren’t you smiling?” He asked.

“Why did you decide to give her another chance?” You ask.

“I don’t know. I felt bad, I guess. She said that she would change.” He explains.

“And what if she doesn’t? What if she just breaks your heart again, Hoseok?” You asked.

“Y/n-ah, calm down. I’m sure I’ll be fine.” He says.

“You weren’t fine the last time. Remember? You cried for like three hours on our video chat.”

“Thanks for reminding me.” He says, sarcastically.

“You’re welcome.” You say.

“I’m confused. When your best friend tells you that they’ve made up with their ex, you should be happy. I was happy for you when you decided to give Joshua another chance.” Hoseok explains.

“My situation with Josh is nothing like this. Jae cheated on you, I don’t understand how you could trust her again.”

“And Josh yelled at you and made you cry. How could you trust him after that?”

“Hoseok, I’m just saying that you shouldn’t have given her another chance. I don’t think it was the right thing to do.” You tell him.

“Since when are you in control of what I do?” He asked.

“I’m not. I just think that you could do better than Jae.”

“Don’t say that, Y/n. I never said these kinds of things to you when you told me that you and Josh were back together.” Hoseok says.

“That’s because Josh didn’t cheat on me, and you had no reason to say anything like that.” You said.

“Why are you acting like this?”

“Because I don’t want Jae to break your heart again. I don’t think she’s right for you. It’s my job as your best friend to look out for you.” You explained.

“And it’s my job as your best friend to let you know when you’re wrong.” He tells me.

“Hoseok, I—”

“I had so many things to say after you told me that you and Josh got back together, but I kept them to myself. You know why? Because I saw that you were happy with him, and I didn’t want to get in the way of your happiness. I was happy for you. Why can’t you be happy for me?” He asks.

“I think you’ll be happy if you break up with her.”

Hoseok raised an eyebrow. “I’m not breaking up with her just because you say so. You’re being an idiot.”

“I’m being an idiot? I’m not the one that gave my girlfriend a second chance after she cheated.” You tell him.

“I gave her a second chance because I think she can change. If you don’t support my decision then you can keep it to yourself, just like I did.” He says.

Why was he acting like this?

You were the one who was right, right?

“I never asked you to keep anything to yourself. If you wanted to say something about Josh, I didn’t stop you.” You point out.

“I was being a good friend. Obviously you don’t know what that’s like.”

Your eyes widened. Why would he say that?

“I am a good friend to you.” You tell him.

“Well, you’re not being a very good friend right now.”

“I’m trying to look out for you. How is that not being a good friend?” You asked.

“I don’t need you to look out for me, Y/n. I made the decision to forgive Jae, and whatever happens after that is my responsibility, not yours.”

“Hobi, I just think that—”

“Maybe we should just stop talking about this.” He says.

You nodded, sighing.

Hoseok rarely every got mad, but you knew that he was mad at you now.

You could just tell by the look on his face.

For once, he wasn’t smiling.

“You’re mad at me.” You stated.

“I’m not.” He says.

“You are. I’m sorry, Hobi. I didn’t mean to make you mad.” You apologized.

“It’s fine. Look, I have to go. I’ll talk to you tomorrow, okay?”

“Okay.” You said before he hung up the call.

You closed your laptop and laid on your bed, clutching a pillow.

You don’t want Hoseok to be mad at you.

You should’ve just kept your mouth shut and said nothing.

Why are you so stupid?

Maybe you’re just jealous.

Why would you be jealous?

You have Josh, so there’s nothing for you to be jealous about.

You had no reason to be jealous.

It’s not like you had any feelings for Hoseok.

Did you?

You sat in math class, waiting for the bell to ring, as always.

You were pretending to pay attention when a paper airplane landed on your desk.

You looked in the direction that it came from to see no other than Josh.

“Open it.” He mouths.

You did as told and oped the piece of paper, seeing the note inside.

Are your parents home? If not, can I drive you home?

You looked at Josh and gave him a thumbs up, signalling that the coast was clear.

He responded with an ‘okay’ sign. And you went back to learning, or at least pretending to learn.

You and Josh fixed your clothes, making sure you both looked normal before he went into the driver’s seat and you went into the passenger’s seat.

“That was amazing.” Josh breathed.

“I know.” You said, trying to catch your breath.

Josh started driving and you received a text message.

You got excited, thinking that it was finally Hoseok. He hasn’t spoken to you since the day of your mini argument. Every time you try to call him, he doesn’t answer.

But it wasn’t Hoseok.

It was Jae-eun.

“Y/n? What’s wrong?” Josh asks, trying to focus on the road, but also on you.

“Who’s texting you?” He asks, looking at your phone.

“It’s Jae.” You tell him.

“Hoseok’s girlfriend? Why is she texting you? Why do you look so upset?”

“It’s not important. I’m fine, baby.” You assured him.

You didn’t want to tell him what really happened.

You just confessed to having a crush on Hoseok while you have a boyfriend.

Was Jae really going to show Hoseok?

Your life is so over.

It was Saturday afternoon. Your parents weren’t home and neither was Abby.

You were babysitting Olivia, but she was currently in her room, sleeping.

“I haven’t been in your room in so long.” Josh says, laying on your bed, hand on his stomach, looking at the ceiling.

You were sitting beside him, scrolling through twitter on your phone.

“Don’t get used to it. My mom is supposed to be home everyday next week.” You tell him.

Josh groaned.

“I wish we could just be together with no interruptions.” He says, putting his hand on your knee and rubbing it.

As if on cue, your laptop started ringing.

Hoseok was video chatting you.

Once you saw the name, your face lit up.

“Hey, Hoseok.” You say after you pressed the answer button.

His amazing, perfect face lit up your screen.

“Hi, Y/n. I’m so sorry I haven’t been speaking to you for the past few days. A lot of stuff has been going on.” He tells me.

“Stuff like what?” You asked, putting your phone down on the bed without locking it.

“Jae.” He sighed. He didn’t sound happy.

Did Jae tell him about what you said?

“What did she do?” You ask.

“She was being mean to you.” He says.

“You saw the messages?” You questioned, curious to if he saw your confession or not.

“Not all of them, but most.” He tells me.

“Well, what happened?” You ask.

“She told me that if I wanted to be her boyfriend, I have to stop talking to you.” He says, sighing once again.

Your eyes widened.

“If you want to stop talking to me, I’ll understand. Jae is a really pretty girl. You should—” You started, but he cut you off.

“So, I broke up with her.” He announces.

Your jaw dropped. “You did what?” You asked.

“Y/n, you’re one of my best friends. Did you really think that I’d let some silly girl come between us?” He laughs.

His laugh brought a smile to your face.

“You’re amazing, Hoseok. I don’t know what I did to deserve you.” You smile.

“I don’t know what I did to deserve me either.” He laughed. “Is that Josh?” Hoseok asks, seeing his hand on your knee.

“Yeah, my parents aren’t home so he came over.” You explained.

“Hi Josh.” Hoseok says in English so Josh would understand him.

“Hey, Hoseok.” Josh says, not looking up from the game he was playing on your phone.

You looked back at Hoseok and asked him about his day.

“Besides the whole thing with Jae, I’m fine. You were right when you said that I’d be happier without her.” He tells me.

“By the way, I’m sorry for most of the stuff that I said that day. You were right, whatever you do is your decision and I shouldn’t make decisions for you.” You say.

“Don’t worry about it, Y/n. You were just worried about me.”

“I think we should—” You started but you were interrupted by Josh.

“Y/n, what the hell is this?” He asks.

You turned to look at him. He had your phone in his hand, showing you the text messages between you and Jae.

He had seen the part when you said that you had a crush on Hoseok.

“You went through my messages?” You asked.

“Don’t try to turn this on me.” He says, standing up. “Why would you do this to me?” He asked.

“I—” You didn’t get a chance to speak as you stood in front of him.

“You’ve like him this whole time, huh? The whole time we were dating, you had a crush on Hoseok?” He asks, grabbing your arms and pushing you into the wall.

“I should’ve known.” He says, his grip getting tighter on your arms.

“Josh,” You gasped. “It hurts. Josh stop.”

He continued to hold your arms tightly.

“If you liked him, then why did you agree to date me again?” He asks.

“I just—”

“Don’t answer that.” He says, letting go of your arms and going to put his shoes on.

“Josh, wait.” You say.

“Have fun with him.” Was the last thing he said before walking out.

You stood there, shocked.

You almost forgot that Hoseok was on video chat with you until he spoke.

“Y/n, are you okay?” He asks.

You sat on your bed, in front of the laptop.

“Oh god. You heard all of that, didn’t you?” You said, putting your face into your hands.

“Yes.” He says. “Do you really have a crush on me?”

You looked up at him.

“Can we not talk about this?” You asked.

You weren’t in the mood for him teasing you.

“Just answer. Please.” He begged.

“Fine. Maybe I do like you. Maybe.” You admit.

“Okay.” He says. “What did you eat for dinner?” He asks, changing the topic.

“Why’d you change the topic?” You ask.

“You asked me to.” He says.

“Right.” You say. “I didn’t eat anything.”

“You should eat. It’s good for you.” Hoseok says.

You groaned.

“Hoseok, can I hang up and call you tomorrow when I wake up? I don’t feel too good.” You say, trying to get off the phone with him.

Hoseok sighed. “Y/n, I know you’re lying.” He says.

You couldn’t look him in the eyes. You were too embarrassed.

“Listen, if you’re really that embarrassed of me knowing that you like me, we can—” he started.

“Please, Hoseok. I don’t want to talk about this. I’ll just call you tomorrow, okay?” You said, looking everywhere but his face.

“Fine.” He says. “We’ll talk tomorrow.”

“Bye.” You said, waving at the camera.

“Bye.” He waved. “Love you.” He adds.

You hung up the call without saying anything else.

You felt so bad.

Your secret was out.

Hoseok knew that you liked him.

Wow, your life really is over.

It's Peak Day of my Birthday Week!

“Cake or pie?” Ashton questioned, looking between the two desserts in thought. You glanced over your shoulder at him, hands filled with croissants.

“Pie,” you replied tossing the container into the cart and heading over to grab some cookies.

“Pie? You’re suppose to have cake for birthday parties!” Ashton exclaimed with furrowed eyebrows. You laughed at his words and shook your head.

“Then why’d you ask my cake or pie?” you said, “Besides I like pie more, but get a cake too if you want me to stick to tradition.” Ashton smiled at your words and headed towards the baker behind the counter. The two of you were getting some last minute groceries for your birthday barbecue. One thing you forgot was to get desserts and bread for the hot dogs and hamburgers.

“What else did we need?” Ashton mumbled to himself, pulling the grocery list from his back pocket. His eyes scanned down the list for a few seconds then looked up at you. “So far we have everything except paper plates,” he said, placing the cake and pie into the cart. Ashton held out his hand for you to take and you intertwined your fingers with his. He brought your locked hands up to his lips and kissed at your knuckles. “Are you having a nice birthday so far?” he asked, beginning to push the cart towards the aisle with napkins.

“Mhm. Thank you for the wonderful breakfast this morning,” you smiled, lightly squeezing his hand. What Ashton really wanted to do was go all out for your birthday, but you wanted to keep it low key and just have a small get together with close friends. After grabbing a few more items you both headed to check out.

It was a great day for barbecuing. The sun out with only a slight breeze, barely any clouds. The event had started slow, your parents being the first to show up then Ashton’s family. You were a bit confused as to why your grandparents showed up, but ultimately grateful that they were here to celebrate your birthday. Music had filled your backyard as more people began to show up. “So you’re doing it today?” Michael asked Ashton, catching the attention of Calum and Luke. All four of them were crowded around the grill. Luke was leaning against the brick wall of your home with a beer in hand, Michael standing next to Ashton in front of the grill, and Calum was sitting in a lawn chair munching on potato salad.

“Yeah it’s going to happen today. Right after Y/N blows the candles out,” Ashton told them. He was nervous about what your answer would be.

“That’s not too long from now isn’t it?” Calum said, looking down at his phone for the time. This party had been going on for about three hours now and from what it seemed like your friends just went inside to light the candles on your cake. Before Ashton could even reply, he was interrupted by one of your friends whispering in his ear.

“Well I guess it’s happening now,” he announced, eyes widening in nervousness. The three boys wished him luck and Ashton handed the flipper over to Luke before darting inside to get your present. It was only three minutes later that you could hear the “happy birthday” song. The lyrics were muffled, but grew louder as Ashton walked out the house with your cake in hand. People began to join in and was soon crowded around you. “Happy birthday dear, Y/N happy birthday to you!” they sang. You smiled at their words, waiting for the song to finish. Once it was done you leaned down to blow out your candles. It wasn’t until you lifted your head and actually looked at the cake that you realized the letters didn’t spell out “Happy Birthday.” Instead in neat light purple cursive letter were the words “Will you marry me?” Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

“Ashton, I think you got the wro-” you words were cut short when you turned around to see Ashton kneeling down on one knee with a ring in hand. Your hands came up to cover your mouth and you could feel tears spring at the corner of your eyes. You weren’t expecting Ashton to propose to you at all. This whole day he had been showering you with gifts and had said there was one more surprise left. This must have been it.

“I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Travel around the world and take cheesy pictures with you. I want to start family one day tell them about the clumsy girl that spilled hot coffee on a guy. Will you marry me?” Ashton asked, holding his breath as he waited for your answer.

“I want to do those things with you too,” you gushed, “Yes, a thousand times yes!” Ashton couldn’t stop the smile that was taking over his face. He took the ring from inside the box and placed it on your finger. Everyone began to clap and cheer. Ashton was quick to scramble to his feet, pulling you into a hug and kissing you. You were glad you didn’t go all out for this birthday, happy to have your friends and family around for the proposal. It was more intimate than proposing in public. Both you and Ashton were excited to start a new chapter in your lives.

Genre: Angst

Word Count: 1.4k

It’s something you both chose to ignore. You both knew it was there, you needed to discus it at some point, but like everything else in your life, you decide to leave it to the last moment. That’s how you ended up in the same cafe where, about a year ago, you first met him.

He had blonde hair then. You would be lying to yourself if you said you didn’t have to do a double take when your eyes first landed on him. Yes he was undoubtedly handsome, but he had this vibe, an aura that emitted from him. It seemed like his entire existence attracted you, not sexually, but he simply peaked your interest. It didn’t seem too complex, you could walk up to him and strike a conversation, however, you were never good with words.

He would constantly tease you about that.

So you chose to watch him from afar. It wasn’t as creepy as it seems, you didn’t constantly stalk him, you both came into the dainty little cafe every morning. You would arrive around 8:30am, you were always a morning person, you enjoyed the tranquility mornings brought with them. He would arrive at 9:00am sharp.

He would always be on time, never a minute early or late.

One thing you admired about him was that he always had a book in his hands. He was constantly reading, whether it be Everything, Everything or Shakespeare’s Tragedy of Othello, The Moor of Venice. You did a quite of reading yourself, you constantly daydreamed of having late night conversations with him, whether Ethan Frome was actual literary genius or a whiney man who just wanted to leave his wife for a younger woman, but ultimately screwed up his life (You would argue the latter).

It was like life threw you a bone. The universe knew you weren’t going to speak with him on your own, so it give you a small nudge of encouragement. You remember the day very clearly.

He walked in, as he usually does.

He ordered a large black coffee, as he usually does.

He stayed at the cafe for about an hour, as he usually does.

He left his book on the table and left, he usually doesn’t do that.

You sat in the cramped cafe booth, many people would think the small establishment was overdue for a remodeling, but you liked the way the cafe looked. It was rustic, it had character. However, interior design was the last thing on your mind that day. You opened the book the blonde forgot on his way out, some classic literature you probably read in high school english.

Strange how you can no longer remember the name of the novel.

‘Jin’s Book’ was the only thing scrawled on the inside cover. You remember you tried to hide a smile when you skimmed over that bit, it seemed like such a childish thing to write inside of a book to indicate ownership. You imagined the blonde, Jin, to be more, for lack of better words, refined, but you liked this more. It showed that he had a humorous side to him. You were more, if that was even possible at the point, attracted to him.

The memory of the following day was crystal clear. You decided to arrive at the cafe later than usual, when Jin was already seated, his nose in a different book. “Jin?"

He mumbled a quick, "Gimme a sec,” before turning the page, finishing a chapter from the novel in his hands. “Sorry,” He looked up and smiled. “What can I help you with?"

"Oh um,” you cleared your throat, suddenly wishing you had taken a sip of water before speaking to the man before you. “I was here yesterday and I think you left your book here as well, you are Jin right?” Life was apparently on your side that day, you didn’t stutter once as you spoke.

“Wow, thanks. I was positive this was gone for good. I appreciate you returning it to me…uh"

You sputtered out your name. To be fair, you didn’t expect the conversation with him to go this far, let alone him ask for your name.

"Oh, well thank you again. It was very kind of you,” he coughed awkwardly, “Um, would you like to join me for some coffee?” He gestured to his empty table, beside his two books and black coffee.

The seat across from him practically begging you to sit with him, or maybe it was just your imagination, convincing yourself to sit alongside him. You ordered yourself a small black coffee and plopped yourself across from him. The rest of the morning consisted of what seemed like endless chats about literature and cups of black coffee.

He has brown hair now.

He dyed it about 4 months ago, 2 months after he stopped carrying books around, and 3 months after you stopped waking up early.

The tiny cafe where both of you sat held several memories of your relationship with Jin. Your first few dates, your go to spot for late night book talk, and just a safe space for you guys to talk about anything and everything. However, the last time you both visited the cafe was over two months ago.

You don’t remember when times with Jin started to change. It wasn’t like one day you both stopped all communication with one another, rather, it happened so slowly that none of you noticed until it was too late.

It’s ironic really, how the coffee shop changed for both of you. It used to have an enjoyable and cheerful ambiance, but now it was awkward. The small shop emitted a silence that neither of you could bear, but neither of you chose to end it. Because ending it meant everything finishing it for good.

You stared at the handsome boy across from you, and you glanced at the restaurant around you. The barista was different than the one from a year ago, and the guitar player that sat outside the building wasn’t there anymore either. The small shop was the same however. The same dusty booths that looked like they haven’t been changed in decades and the same tacky paint job from the ‘70s.

He broke the silence first, “I think we both know what’s about to happen, and we just don’t want to realize it’s happening."

You stared at him intently, unsure of what to say. There were so many thoughts racing through your mind, but none of them would leave your mouth.

He sighed, "I don’t know what happened. I loved you, I really did. And I know you loved me too. You made me so happy and…I-we don’t talk too much anymore we stopped opening up to each other-"

You interrupted him, "I think…this happens sometimes,” he raised his eyebrows, begging you to continue your thought. “I mean- I- we need to get away from here- like from each other. We are two creative minds who just clashed and fell out of love I guess, it happens."

"I didn’t want to fall out of love with you.” He spoke so softly, almost as if he didn’t want you to hear.

“Neither did I, but it’s like-a sign, times changes things I suppose.”

Jin was quiet for a while, you don’t know how long, it felt like an hour, it was probably for a minute or two. “So, this is it then?"

"I guess so.” You replied weakly. You didn’t want it to end. Jin was the only person you’ve cared so much about, but it just doesn’t feel right anymore, being with him. You don’t belong with each other, not now at least.

He looked out the window, the guitar player who plays outside the cafe setting up his mic and tuning his guitar, the same one from about a year ago. “Do you think we could ever go back to how we were before?"

"I don’t know, maybe. The future is unpredictable. You know that, Jin?"

He stifled a laugh, "Yes, I do know that."

You both sat in silence for a while. You don’t remember for how long. Once again he broke the silence, "I better get going. Let me buy you something before I go. Black coffee sound good?"

Jin left the shop half an hour ago, you still sat at table, the conversation you had with Jin replaying like a tape in your mind. You knew this is what you wanted, what you both wanted, but you couldn’t help let a few tears fall here and there. You wiped the tears, sat up, and left the cafe, leaving the thoughts of Jin behind with every step you took further from the shop.

The coffee Jin bought you remained on the table, cold and untouched. You stopped drinking black coffee, you never did care for it much anyway.

Pairing: John Laurens x Reader

Warnings: unedited and not grammar checked; also a little short

Summary: Y/n, John, Alex, and Eliza go on a camping trip, and things get fluffy when you forget your sleeping bag.

Bam: This fic is in honor of the camping trip I just went on! I do hope it’s at least okay. Send requests if you want to see something! Remember, love always.

Even though it wasn’t the most glamorous of activities to be enjoying with your friends, you agreed to go camping with them. John, Alex, and Eliza had invited you, and you figured you could keep John company if Alex and Eliza needed alone time. You packed the night before, and you couldn’t help but feel like you forgot something when you woke up. Nonetheless, you threw all your stuff into the trunk when they picked you up. You got into the back seat of Eliza’s little Toyota and sat right next to John.

“John, why is your sleeping bag so big?” His sleeping bag took up as much space as Alex and Eliza’s, but they were using a dual sleeping bag.

“It’s a couple’s sleeping bag,” he nonchalantly responded.

“I like to have room when I sleep!” He goofily smiled at you.

“Whatever you say.”

The drive was four hours long with one stop, since Alex insisted on getting there before three. The campsite was very rocky with a flat spot for the tent. It had trees surrounding it, and you could hear a river raging near by. You did, in fact, get there by three, but it was still very windy. You struggled to set up the tent, and when you finished, you were all ready to collapse by the fire. Alex set his glove on fire, Eliza panicked, and you and John tried not to die of laughter.

The night came out before you had time to take in the sunset, and one by one, little fireflies came out of hiding. One landed on John’s nose, perfectly illuminating his freckles and his lovely green eyes. You snapped a picture just in time. Secretly, you set it as your lock screen. After the fire went out and the cold had set in, you all got your sleeping bags from the car. Except, you didn’t bring a sleeping bag. That’s what you had forgotten this morning.

“Y/n? Where’s your sleeping bag?” John rolled out his onto the tent floor. Alex and Eliza were already fast asleep.

“Uhh….. funny you should ask…. I packed my bag last night and accidentally forgot it? So, that’s a thing,” you mumbled. John stared for a moment, then stood up.

“Well you have to sleep in my sleeping bag then.”

“What? No! You’ll freeze.” You crossed your arms.

“Oh, I didn’t say I wasn’t gonna sleep in there. It’s a COUPLES sleeping bag. Now come on, I’m tired.” He pulled you down and zipped you two up. Your entire face was red; you weren’t used to being this close to John. Soon soft snores came from his side, so you figured you might as well try to get some sleep.

Sleep came surprisingly easy, but when you woke up, your face was buried in John’s chest. You slowly lifted your eyes to find John staring at you with something in his eyes that made you feel warm and fuzzy.

“Hey sleeping beauty. Comfy?” He wrapped his arm around your shoulder.

“Very. You’re nice and warm.” You nuzzled your face further into his chest. The low rumbling of laughter shook his shoulders, and he shifted to get up.

“Come on. Al and Liza are already up.” You really didn’t want to move, but he was insistent.

It was already 12 in the afternoon, and you could sense that Alexander and Eliza we’re getting antsy. Your observation was confirmed when Eliza pulled you aside while the boys were talking.

“Y/n?” She grabbed your shoulder.

“Could you and John go explore for a few hours?” She gave you a pleading glance.

“If you want alone time that desperately, you could have just asked.” You gave her a wink and she sat down beside Alexander.

“Hey, John, come explore with me!” You tugged his arm and he quickly followed. You followed the sound of the river, and cane upon a log to cross. John took your hand and helped you over. On the other side, there was a huge boulder with many faults in it. John started scaling it, and you tried your best to get up. After a long struggle, you were finally looking at a beautiful skyline of the trees against the mountains and the baby blue sky.

“Hey, let’s take a picture!” He pulled out his phone and scooted closer to you.

“Smile!” You took a nice picture with both of you smiling and holding each other.

“Okay, now time for the mandatory silly face photo!” You said.

He set the camera on timer mode for 3 seconds. You weren’t quite sure why, but you kissed his cheek when he stuck his tongue out for the picture. Right after the picture was done, he went beet red and turned to you.

“What was that for?” His face got closer to yours.

“I felt like it.” Your noses were touching now.

“Well, I feel like this.” His lips brushed against yours before softly pressing down. You grabbed his hand and rubbed small circles onto it, and pulled away from him.

Camping, Man.

Hey, I’m Here

It is a sad time for you and your team, despite defeating the light, it came at a great cost. You lost your teammate and dear friend, Wally West. Unfortunately, he just wasn’t fast enough to survive, he was targetted by excess energy and completely vanished. Everyone accepts the possibility that he is dead but part of you refuses to. He has to be out there somewhere, wherever he is and somehow he will find his way back.

A month has passed and the team can’t help but notice how distant you have become. Without Wally, there is a part of you missing. You don’t laugh or smile much anymore, mostly because Wally would be the one to cheer you up. You don’t talk to Dick or Kaldur anymore because they kept things from you during the whole invasion. Dick made you believe your teammate Artemis was dead when she wasn’t and she ended up working with Kaldur on an undercover mission in Black Mantas organisation. How could they possibly keep that from you? Also, Dick quit the team, handing over leadership to Kaldur because what happened to Wally hit him hard too, so you barely see him anymore to talk about things. Kaldur really does try to make it up to you but it will take a while longer for you to trust him again.

You return from a mission with Bart, who is now Kid Flash and Blue Beetle. The two of them talk about hanging out now that they have some free time. Jaime tells Bart that he can’t because he has a lot of school work to catch up on. The speedster pouts at his best friend in annoyance before zooming in front of you to stop you in your tracks.

“What about you?” He folds his arms and taps his left foot on the ground.

“I don’t know Bart I–” You begin to say but as always he cuts you off before you can finish, he is impatient like that. It must be a speedster thing because Wally used to do it too.

“You got something better to do?” He raises his eyebrow in question. “We never hang out anymore.” He sounds a little disheartened.

“There’s a reason you know that.” You remind him and he looks down at his feet for a moment realising that Wally’s death is still affecting you.

“When was the last time you had fun and forgot about things?” Bart looks back up into your eyes and for the first time, he is being serious.

Your mouth opens as if to answer but no words come out. It has been too long since you last enjoyed yourself. Perhaps it is just what you need. Bart looks at you hopefully as he sees the look on your face that tells him you are considering his offer.

“Okay, we can hang out for a bit.” The second you agree Bart dashes off to the changing rooms and gets into his casuals, ready and rearing to go.

“Then what are we waiting for?!” He exclaims.

“Uh not so fast, Speedy Gonzales.” You laugh and shake your head at his eagerness. “Incase you haven’t noticed, I still have to get changed.”

“Oh yeah.” He scratches the back of his neck awkwardly. “At least I made you smile!” He calls after you as you head off to get ready.

“Looks like you did.” You give him a smile over your shoulder and he suddenly feels really proud to be the one to cheer you up a little, even if it is just a little.

Bart doesn’t want you to be consumed by grief anymore, he wants you to be happy again. Over time he has gained feelings of affection towards you, so your happiness is really important to him. When he came here from the future, he never thought that he would actually fall for someone. He hides it well but you actually make him really nervous.
