Whiskey Lullaby

Reader Gender: I don’t think I specified one
Warnings: Reader death, alcohol poisoning.
Love Interest: Dean (SPN)
Note: I’ve been writing this on the side for like a week now, and since I just finished it, I decided to post it c: This is based on the song by Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss. I think I dragged out the last half a little too much, but I hope you guys like it! Also, I’m sorry my posts have been so slow. I’ll try to post more c:

It had been quite a while since Dean and I parted ways, both for our separate reasons. Well, in reality it was one collective reason, but I’m sure you’ll get a different story if you ask him. He cheated on me, more than once might I add. The last time he did it, I couldn’t take it anymore, my heart couldn’t take it anymore. So I left, and I didn’t bother with getting my things. They didn’t matter, nothing did anymore. I haven’t been the same since, and I’ve taken to alcohol more and more as the days go by. I love him more than I love myself, but it’s been years and I’m sure he’s changed his number by now.

Nowadays I drink it away with whiskey, and then I end up crying next to a picture of him when I get to my motel room. Dean and I were in the same business, and I was in it before I even met him. That was partly why our relationship had worked out so well in the beginning. Then I found him with another woman, and while he promised not to do it again, he would let me down. I wouldn’t have been driving over to his motel room if it wasn’t for my current case. Whatever I was chasing was after him, and it was powerful. This creature had a rep for killing people, and making it look like a suicide.

She put him out, like the burnin’ end of a midnight cigarette.
She broke his heart, he spent his whole life trying to forget.
We watched him drink his pain away, a little at a time.
But he never could get drunk enough to get her off his mind,
Until the night.

While I know that Dean probably already has a handle on this case, I still worry for him. I didn’t want him to die, and if I got to him before this thing did, everything will be alright. I’ve already injured it pretty badly, and in my book it should be dead already. The creature was black and smoky, but thankfully my weapon collection is pretty big, and I usually always have something to use. After reading about it, I found that it’s weakest point is where it’s the smokiest and the darkest. So, that’s where I struck it, and I don’t give it long to live. However, it could live long enough to have one more victim.

He put that bottle to his head and pulled the trigger,
And finally drank away her memory.
Life is short, but this time it was bigger
Than the strength he had to get up off his knees.

That wasn’t happening on my damn watch, and I’d drag it back to Hell myself if I had to first. I pulled into the parking lot of the motel, parking my car in the first available spot I came across. I quickly got out of my car and jogged up to his door, my heart pounding from pure fear. Cas told me where they were, but I feared he wasn’t able to get there in time. I knocked on the door at first, hoping that he’d just answer or tell me to come in. After a moment of silence, I knocked again, and when he didn’t answer I entered the room myself. As soon as I opened the door, the smell of alcohol hit me like a brick.

“Dean?” I questioned, looking around for a moment.

We found him with his face down in the pillow,
With a note that said I’ll love her till I die.
And when we buried him beneath the willow,
The angels sang a whiskey lullaby.

As soon as I saw his body, I screamed at the sight. He was laying lifeless on the bed, bottles of alcohol surrounding him. Normally, this wouldn’t be anything out of the ordinary, but I knew him and he never drank alcohol with this proof in mass quantities. He wanted to be drunk, not dead, and there was a fine line. I quickly ran over to him, shaking his body in hopes that he would wake up. There was a little bit of foam coming from his mouth, making me cry even harder than I was. My heart wasn’t ready for this sight, and it never would be. I shook him harder, knowing that whatever I did wouldn’t work. He was gone, unless I could do something about it.

“He is dead, there is nothing you can do.” I heard a monotone voice say.

“Yes there is.” I shot back in a hard tone.

Guilt started flooding my mind as my hand gently caressed his face. The tears never stopped flowing freely from my eyes, and I doubt they ever would. Just like how my guilt would never stop pouring into my mind, haunting me. This is my fault, all of it is my fault. I should’ve warned him sooner, or killed the creature earlier. I should have done something sooner, and maybe he would still be alive right now. No, not maybe, he would still be alive right now. My forehead rested on his chest, tears staining his shirt. He can’t be dead, not now, not ever. He was too important, not just to the world, but he was too important to me.

I slowly pulled myself off of him, my own emotions slowing down my actions. I went back up to his face, my thumb gently gliding across his cheek. I took a shaky breath, the weight against my chest feeling heavier than ever. I heard Cas finally leave the room, and I knew exactly what I had to do. I looked over to the floor, seeing the creature in a slightly more humanoid form. My gaze shifted back over to the one who still held my heart; Dean. My lips bushed against his cheek, and I tightly shut my eyes. The tears still fell, and how tightly I shut my eyes didn’t matter. It seemed as if nothing did anymore.

The rumours flew, but nobody knew how much she blamed herself.
For years and years, she tried to hide the whiskey on her breath.
She finally drank the pain away, a little at a time,
But she never could get drunk enough to get him off her mind.
Until the night.

I took a deep breath as I tore myself away from him, looking down at him. I heard the creature chuckle lowly from the floor, taunting me. I took off the necklace he gave me when we were together, giving it a kiss before placing it in the palm of his hand. I wrote a note on the pad that was on the night stand, simply telling him that I loved him. My heart ached with each stroke of the pen, it felt as if my world was coming down on me. I took another breath as I set the pen back on the wooden stand, moving over to were the creature was laying. I bent down to its level, noticing black goo slowly leave its figure.

“You son of a bitch, you bring him back.” I demanded.

“And why would I do that?” The creature asked in an amused tone.

“Because I fucking said so.” I spoke dangerously.

“Sorry, sweetheart, that doesn’t work for me. Sweeten the deal.” The creature demanded.

“How about the satisfaction of watching me die the same way he did.” I offered.

“Hm, I like it, but you gotta give me just a little bit more.” It said, and I swore I could’ve seen a grin.

“What more could you possibly want?” I questioned, my voice breaking.

“Share your memories with me. All of them. It gets boring after a few hundred years, you know,” It spoke in a strained voice, “It’ll give me something to look back on when I get sent back to Hell.”

“Done.” I immediately said and he chuckled.

“I guess we have a deal, Sweetheart.” It said.

I felt something enter my head and pain spread through out my entire body. It was as if he was twisting my brain around, as if the thing was dissecting it. In a way, I suppose he was, how else was he able to do what he did? As the pain left my mind, a sudden and uncontrollable urge was now in it’s place. I had an urge to drink and drink until I couldn’t drink anymore. I had an urge to drink myself to death. I grabbed one of the untouched bottles that was nearby, downing it as fast as I could. I slowly felt a migraine enter my mind as I went for another bottle, downing that one as well before I could even react to the headache.

She put that bottle to her head and pulled the trigger,
And finally drank away his memory.
Life is short but this time it was bigger,
Than the strength she had to get up off her knees.
We found her with her face down in the pillow,
Clinging to his picture for dear life.
We laid her next to him beneath the willow,
While the angels sang a whiskey lullaby.

As I grabbed a third bottle, nausea travelled down to my stomach. It wasn’t enough to make me vomit up the contents of my stomach, and that was probably the creatures doing. My vision began to blur as the clear liquid burned my throat. It was an oddly comforting burn, like a promise of relief. Memories of Dean and I blurred through my mind, and I felt a tear escape from my eye. I wish I could tell him how sorry I was, I wish I could just talk to him one last time. The weight on my chest got a bit heavier, making it just that much harder to breathe properly. I felt myself grow weaker, as I grabbed a bottle that was only half-full.

I brought the bottle to my lips, only to fall back onto the bed. A little bit of the drink spilled onto the sheets around me, but I couldn’t’ve cared less about it. The clear liquid rushed into my mouth and down my throat, making me choke a little bit. When I finished the bottle, my arm went limp beside me. I heard someone stirring, and I smiled as I realized that it was Dean. He was alive, and he was going to be alright. I turned my head to look at the creature, only to see a puddle of black ooze in it’s place. A little bit of the weight left my chest as I realized that it was now dead. Nobody else was going to die because of that thing, I was going to be the last.

I didn’t know if he was awake or not, but I can die peacefully knowing that the creature kept his word. Exhaustion clouded my brain, my eyes feeling heavy. I slowly closed my eyes, feeling weaker with ever second that passed by. I was weak, but I was happy; something I haven’t felt in a long while. Darkness completely covered my vision, and I felt the life I had in my veins leave me. I didn’t see a light, or anything like that. Just darkness, but it was a comforting darkness.

A darkness that took the rest of the life I had left in me.

Spike’s design for the “what if” story where Twilight Sparkle travels into an alternative and dark future.
A little warning. This concept involves my favorite pairings: Rainbow x Fluttershy, Pinkie x Twilight and Applejack x Rarity. Thou have been warned!

I’m going to say what everyone is thinking; FINALLY!! ‘8D This piece took me longer than I expected, and then there were so many interruptions with other works. But what matters is that’s done! TwT

Here’s the usual, and final, summary regarding the character’s background:

Spike was the first to notice Twilight’s mysterious disappearance when the said girl was nowhere to be found in the Golden Oak Library and the same place was turned upside down as if someone had just stormed inside.
The young dragon boy searched around the town for Twilight with Pinkie’s help in the hopes that she was just dragged out by their friends or that she forgot to buy something. Unfortunately he couldn’t find her anywhere, nor any of their friends knew where she was. Spike, concerned, decided to send an immediate letter to Princess Celestia about the strange situation and the Princess took action right way. She assembled searching teams to spread over Equestria in order to find the lost princess and Spike, along with Pinkie Pie and their friends, joined the search.
Spike was determined to find Twilight even if he had to walk to the end of the world, because he knew that she would do the same for him. As the time goes by his friends gave up one after another, and when Rarity and Applejack prepared to leave the search Pinkie suggested that Spike would go with them. He was determined to continue but his body refused to obey and it was frustrating for him.
Spike did as Pinkie told him and went back to their town with Rarity and Applejack, only to find out that it was under attack by the Changelings.
He steps into the battle with his friends, Rarity, Applejack, Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash, and they manage to win the fight. However that wasn’t the last and the most difficult yet.
As the days passed the attacks became more frequent and Spike started training intensively to be able to protect his beloved friends. His training proved to be successful as his dragon abilities, such as the flames and strength, became quite powerful.
Years went by after the fall of Canterlot, and even though many towns and cities have fallen under Chrysalis’ power Ponyville was one of the few that remained strong against her. One of the main sources of power was Spike, now much older and matured. Thanks to his intensive training over the years he was now able to turn into a fully grown dragon and defend the town from the incoming armies of Changelings.
His determination to protect his home and dear friends have been his motivation to keep getting stronger, he just wished Twilight was there with them, she would be able to figure out a way to regain the kingdom back.
For Spike’s surprise a part of his wish came true as Rainbow Dash came up with a plan to infiltrate the castle and ambush Chrysalis, by the looks of it it was flawless.
Unfortunately when Spike, accompanied by his friends and some comrades, entered the castle they were caught in an ambush by the Changelings. Refusing to give up and be locked in a cell, Spike stepped into battle by turning in his grown dragon form and soon his friends followed him into the fight.
Even though the best fighters were in that battle it seemed to be a lost cause as they were killed one after another, even Spike wasn’t strong enough to hold those many attacks and his closest friends were getting terribly injured too.
When he saw the awful state of the main five he somehow knew for sure that none of them would leave that place alive if they stayed there.
So he turned to Pinkie Pie and Rarity and told them to lead the others out of the castle immediately. He fired his green flames at the Changelings so they couldn’t get ay closer as his friends escaped. Then he slammed his gigantic body against the castle’s crumbling walls with the objective of making the ceiling fall over them and vanquish the Changelings and their Queen.
Spike was getting weak from the many wounds he was taking all at once but his resolve gave him one last bit of strength to accomplish his task and successfully destroying the main hall of the castle.
Spike turned back to his human form moments after the whole place crumbled and with his vision blurred he tried to see if he had defeated the Changeling Queen. He didn’t hear anything, there was absolute silence around him, and that made him smile.
In his last breath he mumbled, “I did well, didn’t I, Twilight…?” and lastly closed his eyes to finally get his rest after nine years of endless fights.

Well, that’s all folks! Sorry if I broke your heart! D8

2. “I’m sorry, I mistook you for someone else”

11.  “The day I fell in love with you…”

Type: Fluff

Word Count: 990

You had been wandering the streets all night, your brother was nowhere to be seen and everything seemed to be in a big blur. “Ugh, where are you?” You groaned as you spun around, checking the busy street one last time before walking off towards another. You continued to search around for him, growing a bit tired, as it was around midnight where you lived.

Turning onto a different street, you scanned the area, hoping to find your brother. Sighing in defeat, you lowered your head and groaned. “Just where the hell are you?” You murmured, “just wait until I find you ya’; ya’ little shit!”

Looking back up, you saw the back of your brother’s head. Examining him a bit longer, you walked up to him and grasped his arm tightly. “I swear to hell (B/n). I’ve been looking for you this whole time. And if you ever try to run off again because you’re throwing a fit then suck it up and stomp to your room. I have work tomorrow and I’m out here until…” letting go of his arm, you pulled up your sleeve to check your watch and read the time. Turning to face him, you realized it wasn’t your brother, but someone else.

“Oh my god. I’m sorry, I mistook you for someone else,” you panicked, walking back and forth in front of the boy, you took deep breaths and sighed. “I’m so sorry, I’ve just been looking for my younger brother all night and I haven’t found him, and I thought you were him, but obviously you’re not. I’m so sorry.” You apologized once more.

“Hey,” he laughed, “it’s okay. I completely understand.” He held out his hand for you to shake and you did. “I’m Minghao, what’s your name?”

“I’m (Y/n),” you replied, “I’m so sorry…” You apologized once more, but Minghao laughed.

“Really, I swear it’s okay.” He spoke as he nodded his head up and down. The street light flickered on above you, letting you get a proper look at the tall boy, and him, a proper look at you. “Wow, you’re really pretty…” he said softly.

Turning a bright red, you lowered your head and shook the thoughts from your head. “I’m sorry, for wasting your time I mean. I gotta go,” you then said and turned to walk away.

“Wait up a bit (Y/n)” Minghao called out to you. “I’m going to help you find your brother too.” He said as he sped up to walk next to you. “I mean I might as well while I’m here.”

“Hey where ya’ going?” Your brother called as he turned his head slightly. Watching as you checked your outfit in the mirror by the front door of your house. “You’re all dressed up. Interview? Business meeting?” He guessed, hoping to find the correct one.

“Nope, Minghao asked me out on a coffee date.” You replied with a smile. Turning to look at your brother, you saw him roll his eyes and you laughed.

“Ever since that night I ‘ran’ away. It’s only been Minhao; this Minhao that. You’re obsessed!” He exaggerated, throwing his hands up in the air as he jumped off the couch.

“First, it’s Minghao. And second, you’re just mad I snagged the cute boy before you did.” You joked, sticking your tongue out playfully. “Don’t run off, I’ll be back soon.” Unlocking the front door, you opened it and walked out. “Bye!” You shouted as the door closed behind you.

You arrived at the cafe where you planned to meet Minghao at and walked in. You saw him standing in line, his back faced towards you. With a smile, you walked towards the boy and poked his sides.

“Hi Hao!” You greeted, giving a giant smile. He chuckled lightly before patting your head and turning back around to look at the menu. “Hmm, what are you ordering?” You asked curiously, looking in the direction he was in.

“I was thinking of a vanilla latte,” he responded, “you seem to like the drink a lot, so I wanted to try it.” He said as he looked down at you and smiled. You nodded your head in agreement, wondering how many times he saw you order the drink.

Once you both got your drinks, Minghao walked to a table in the middle of the cafe and sat down. “(Y/n),” I need to tell you something.” He let out an exaggerated breath and looked down at the table.

You took a sip of your drink and waited for Minghao to gather his thoughts. You swayed slightly to the song that was playing softly in the cafe and fell into a calmer state of mind. “(Y/n),” Minghao spoke in an airy voice. “The day I fell in love with you, we were in this cafe. In this exact spot because there were no more booths left.” He spoke, letting out an awkward laugh.

“What I want to say is… I know it’s only been a couple of months since we met when you dragged me along with you, but I hope you give me a try.” Your face was frozen still, and you had no idea what to say. You knew you liked Minghao back, but you didn’t know if you were ready to date. “I love you (Y/n), but you don’t have to accept me into your heart yet!” He said quickly after. “I just wanted to tell you what I feel.”

“Minghao… “you trailed. “I love you too, but I don’t think I’m ready to date just yet.” You let out an awkward laugh, trying to steer away from the topic. Looking up awkwardly at Minghao, he gave you a warm smile and nodded his head softly.

“It’s okay. I understand. And I’ll wait until you’re ready to date. I’m in no rush, we can wait as long as you need.” He said, giving you an assuring smile.

“Thank you.”

promise me we’ll be alright

Wasn’t your life supposed to flash before your eyes? Or were you supposed to see a white light?

Whoever said that is full of shit, Timothy thinks with a grimace, pain racking his body with each gasping breath he took. All he could think about was that he didn’t want to go – he wasn’t ready to go. Because… Because…

#7 The morning after (Cashton)

You can find the Muke one here ( )
To the anon who requsted this, sorry for the wait but I hope you’ll like it :)

Calum: You awoke from the sound of shower and squeezed your eyes shut before opening them again, trying to remember anything from last night. You had been drunk but not that drunk that you felt like shit just a bit of a headache that was bearable. The hotel room that you were in was big and fancy looking with modern furnitures and a king size bed, which you currently was laying in. White satin sheet was the only thing covering your naked body and you saw your clothes sprawled over the floor together with a man’s clothes. You slung your feet down from the bed and stood up but had to stop for a moment to steady yourself since you were apparently not back to normal just yet. Once you had regained your balance you found your underwear on the floor and had just clasped your bra on when the door to the bathroom opened and a guy around the age of 18 stepped out with only a towel round his hips. He was hot, with black raven hair that was still dripping from the shower and a toned very fit body, he was tall too, at least 6ft 2 if not more. “I was wondering when you were gonna wake up” he said before pulling out a pair of black boxers from one of the drawers. You giggled, not because he was funny but because you he was really hot and without alcohol in your system you didn’t have the same confidence as last night. “I don’t mean to be rude” you said, after composing yourself. “But what was your name again? Last night is all just a big blur to me, I can’t remember anything. I’m sorry.” You looked down at the floor and blushed since you couldn’t remember such a hot guys name. “It’s fine, I also had a little bit too much to drink. I’m Calum” he said reaching his hand out. “Y/N” you responded shaking it, surprised by his action. An awkward silence spread in the room so you leaned down and picked your dress up and pulled it on and grabbed your shoes. “I probably should go. Bye Calum, it was…nice meeting you” you said waving slightly before walking towards the door. “Wait! Let me atleast by you breakfast.”
“I don’t know, I can’t really go out like this” you said gesturing to your dress. “That’s the beauty of staying at a hotel, there’s room service” he said with a big smile. “Fine, I’ll stay for breakfast.” You dropped your shoes to the floor and returned back to the bed. “Where’s the menu, I’m hungry” You said pouting making Calum laugh before handing you the menu. “Here, you can order whatever want if I get your number” he said grinning. “I’ll think about it” you said looking at the menu making him laugh.

Ashton: Ashton was still asleep so you stood in the kitchen alone with the radio on low volume, humming along to the tune that was playing. You grabbed a cup of coffee and sat down and that kitchen table with your phone in your hand. With nothing better to do you opened twitter and scrolled through your mentions. There were some very cute messages from fans which made you smile and one had drawn a picture of you and Ashton together with flower crown on your head while holding hands which you just had to retweet cause it was so good. A pair of arms wrapped around your waist and made jump a little. “Morning babe” Ashton whispered in your ear with his husky morning voice. “Morning” you said kissing his cheek. “Look what some fan drew of us. Isn’t cool?” He looked at your phone and studied the picture before smiling wildly at you before kissing you. “Looks amazing.” You got up from the chair and turned up the volume on the radio. “I love this song” you said wrapping your arms around Ashton as he stood by the counter and rested your head on his chest. He started to hum along and you swayed slowly back and forth to the music. You looked up at Ashton and saw a love bite on his neck and one on his chest. A small giggle escaped your mouth and he looked down confused at you. “You have some very beautiful marks from last night” you said gesturing to purple bruises. He looked down on his chest and then over to you. “Well look at that. And you have one right there” he said putting his finger on the side of your neck. “We’re gonna have to cover that up before we go out” you said. “I don’t think I ever wanna go out, I just wanna stay here with you” he said and wrapped his arms around you pulling you close. “I’m gonna lock you up so that you can’t leave the apartment and just stay here with me all day long…and night.” You laughed and cuddled more into his chest. “How did I end up with such a cute boyfriend?” Ashton grinned down at you. “I don’t know but I think I’m the lucky one here” he said before kissing you again.
