Gorillaz Animated Series Set To Premiere In 2018

Cartoon Brew reports: Ten episodes of the Gorillaz series will be produced for release in 2018, according to co-creator Jamie Hewlett, who spoke about the project in an interview yesterday.

“I’ll direct the first and the last one,” he told Exclaim, “but we’ll have to get someone in to direct the other episodes. I think even attempting to do it all by myself will kill me.”

Notably, the Gorillaz  crew will all be 2D. Said Hewlett:

“I think it’s a beautiful style of animation. Everybody does cg now, and it is great when you’re making backgrounds, like environments and landscapes, but not the actual characters. I’m still very much inspired by the work of Chuck Jones, and I love that animation. It’s art. I’d like to keep the characters in that style for the rest of this campaign. So the characters on the show will be 2D, but everything else is up for grabs.”

I got a request to explain how to apply a doodle gif texture, and since I couldn’t find a tutorial, I decided to make one myself! I will be explaining (with lots of pictures) how to apply the hearts gif shown in the banner. I used the hearts gif from this doodle pack.

What you will need: photoshop. I use cc 2015.

You better Marry her One Day (Draco Malfoy x Reader)

Prompt/Request: ‘’Hi!! I really liked my last imagine that you wrote for me. Do you think you could write another Draco Malfoy imagine, where the reader meets his parents and she later overhears his mother telling Draco that he better marry the reader one day? Thanks!’’ -  abbeyshadowhunter

Word Count: 1,181.
Warning(s): Fluff, I guess?
Note: Thank you for the amazing request, I liked it to write. :) Hope you like it too! xx

The nerves were killing you as you stood in front of the Malfoy Manor, a very big manor, almost like a castle with its own, little kingdom. Even though everything looked very clean and neat, it still had a very dark look. Yes, even when you were sorted in Slytherin and a pureblood, you still disliked dark colours. But following Draco his advice, you wore some black jeans, a dark blue shirt and a black leather jacket. To finish of your outfit, you wore black shoes, hoping the family wouldn’t hate it.

God, everything mattered if you thought about it. You were so concentrated on your appearance and manners you didn’t even realize someone opened the door already you had not even knocked on.

‘Good day darling, I’m assuming you’re Y/N?’ a woman with dark hair and dark clothes greeted you. In her hair were some grey locks and immediately you liked it the way she slowly accepted growing old. Well, that’s what you thought, maybe that was not the reason behind the grey locks after all.

You nodded and shook her hand, which reached out to you already. ‘Yes, Y/N Y/L/N. And you’re Draco’s mother?’ you questioned, not trying to sound rude at all as she led you in.

Inside it was dark too, as you expected, but it was very beautiful and all the stuff looked very expensive. Even when you’d touch the walls, you felt like it would break down right down to your feet. This was a whole other universe than your own, ordinary home. You shook your head and let your thoughts drift away.

‘Yes, yes I am. Narcissa Malfoy,’ she smiled before letting your hand finally go. The door behind you was now closed and you started to follow Narcissa to another door inside. Narcissa opened the door, which seemed to be the door to the living room. On the couch was Draco, laying down, reading a book for school while on the chair on the other side of him, was another man. He looked a lot like Draco. The blonde hair, the same face expression and his whole appearance made you conclude he was his father.

‘Draco, Y/N is here,’ Narcissa announced, making Draco look up. He shot up immediately and walked towards you with open arms.

‘Hey babe,’ he whispered when he was close to you, pressing a small kiss on your lips, before letting go of you and wrapping his arm around your waist. And there you stood, like Draco was presenting you to his parents, despite your little meeting with his mother.

He took a short breathe, looking at his father, who had not a single emotion on his face nor in his eyes.

‘Hi, I’m Y/N,’ you shortly introduced yourself, waving a little before a small laugh left your mouth. Narcissa was already smiling, but Draco’s father stayed silent.

‘Father?’ Draco said kind of unsure about his words, also nervous because his father hasn’t said a single thing but sending you glares. Well, you thought it were glares.

‘Lucius Malfoy,’ was the only thing he said. The corners of his mouth went a bit upward and you questioned yourself if this was supposed to represent a smile.

But to prevent any other awkward situations, you just said: ‘Nice to meet you, sir.’ And you showed your most beautiful smile, feeling Draco chuckle. His grip around your waist stiffened a bit, so you smiled even more, but not towards Lucius anymore, but Draco.

Your eyes met, feeling the spark inside lighten up again. He nodded, gesturing it was going okay. A wave of relief washed over you, before Narcissa and Lucius started to walk to another room. Draco hold on tightly when he walked with you, entering the big room which seemed to be the dining room.

‘Dinner’s almost ready,’ Draco’s mother said as she smiled, walking to the kitchen to check the food one last time.

‘Good,’ you answered, turning towards Draco and his father, ‘mind if I use the bathroom real quick and wash my hands?’ You showed a grin and frowned a bit. Draco nodded, ignoring his father as he told you were to find it. A quick thank you rolled over your lips and before you knew it, you were already inside.

‘Come on Y/N, you can do this,’ you whispered to you reflection, trying to encourage yourself, ‘it’s all going well right now. Kill it out there.’

You took a deep breathe, fixing your hair and make-up again, washing your hands before exiting the bathroom. That’s when you realized you got lost in the house. It was a bloody maze in your eyes.

Voices were heard, so you assumed it were Draco and his parents and as you were approaching the voices behind the door, you saw it was a direct door to the kitchen and not via the dining room.

The voices belonged to Narcissa and Draco.

‘What a beautiful girl Draco, reminds me of the younger me,’ you heard Narcissa say, making you smile and your heartbeat quicken.

‘She’s the prettiest and sweetest woman alive,’ Draco told his mother, love lacing in his words.

Narcissa laughed and laid her hands on the shoulders of her son. ‘Your father will love her too, darling. She makes you so happy, I’ve never seen you so happy.’

Draco just nodded, hearing things he already knew. You were indeed one of his only lights that brought him happiness and made him turn into a good person. Well, let’s just say you made him have a good side too.

‘You better marry her one day,’ Narcissa smiled while stroking the arms of her only son. Draco laughed and grabbed his mother’s hands.

‘Don’t worry mother, I will,’ he assured her, making her nod.

On the other side of the door, you were almost fainting. A hand clasped in front of your mouth, you silently left the door, finding the other way around immediately as the smile on your face wouldn’t fade away.

When you were in the dining room again, everyone was finally there, Draco sitting on a chair next to an empty chair. The whole table was filled with so much food, you almost lost count of the different meals.

Once you sat down, Lucius lit the candles with his wand and filled all the four glasses with some wine.

‘A toast for Draco and Y/N,’ Narcissa said, raising her glass as you followed her actions. Draco did the same and then everyone looked at Lucius, who still hadn’t raise his glass.

But after a few seconds, his mouth went open, his eyes showing some sympathy as he looked at his loving son.

‘To the beautiful, kind Y/N and my only, dear son Draco,’ he said, finally showing some of his opinion on your relationship.

You smiled, mumbling a ‘cheers’ but you were at cloud nine at the moment, so happy with this meeting.

Soon enough, Draco’s hand found yours, him squeezing your hand a little as you were smiling like a dork, happier than ever before.

WINTERVINE
by Lindsay Smith

I will rule for a thousand years, and none shall defy my reign.

I am the sole queen of these lands. Sole heir to the winter and the forests and the streams, sole arbiter of the echoing city streets of stone. So many would keep me from my throne, my true calling. But I have earned my place. I have shown them all what it means to rule.

It started with my sister. From my first hazy memories I remember her shadow weighing down on me, stifling my every move. “One day one of you must rule,” our father said to us, night after night when we gathered at his feet. “If it must be one of you, then I will be the one to choose.”

How could we learn to be sisters with such a decree? All I wanted was a friend, someone to look up to, someone to whisper to at night to keep the darkness away. But I learned quickly that that was only the surest path to her scorn. She saw me as weak, as foolish, as younger. I would reach out to her to pull me up and she would shove me right back down. I would show her my weakness and she would pry it open wide, ragged and bloody.

I didn’t realize the significance, at first, of what our father wanted us to become. Didn’t know what it meant to be queen, or why it was something worth fighting for. But as I learned from my sister, I learned to covet it, to hunger for it so fiercely that everything else tasted dried out and dull. She wanted to rule so that all would obey her. I wanted to rule so she could not.

The first time she tried to kill me, it was my nurse who gave it away. She woke me up in the dead of night and bundled me into a closet, told me not to make a noise no matter what followed. Then the guards came, swords drawn, visors lowered. They were only boys infatuated with my sister, but at the time everyone seemed impossibly old to me, unstoppably strong. I feared them, but I believed my nurse invincible too.

They taught me, quickly, how wrong I was.

After that, my father sent me to the country for a spell. Armed guards, a fleet of tutors, and an ailing count who watched over me with a gaze like sharpened knives. Sometimes the threats came in letters that the count would burn before he thought I could read them. Sometimes, It was assassins in the night.

Worst of all, though, were the long silences. The heaviness of her inaction dragging me to the bottom, drowning me. I never knew when the next assault would come for me.

Slowly, finally, I could wait no longer.

I found the woman in the country market, slender fingers grazing over her wares of pewter charms and crystals and bundled flowers. Her skin was smooth, her hair like silk, and when she looked my way, I saw the kiss of winter in her eyes.

“You look troubled,” she said, and the words wrapped around me like a soft breeze. “You look far too troubled for someone your age.”

I looked away then, ashamed to be so young. If I was older, if I was cleverer, I wouldn’t have to be sent away. I could prove myself worthy of the crown. I could beat my sister for good, beat her just enough that she’d never need attack me again. How foolish, that I thought winning once would be enough.

“Come closer.” She swept her hand over her goods. “Perhaps I might ease some of your pain.”

I started to meet with her every time I could sneak away from the count’s estate. It wasn’t often, but her lessons in the ways of magic filled me up with a sustenance I didn’t know I craved. I wanted to be her, to share her easy confidence and capability, to bend the world toward me with a subtle call the way she did. Her poultices cleared away blemishes and made water drinkable, but they also could boil blood, shatter bones, freeze a pond. She let me practice these skills as though they were interchangeable. She let me build on them, stringing them together like beads on a necklace, as I practiced on the woods beyond her hut.

The more power I gained, the more I sought. At long last, I understood the hunger in my sister’s belly. For now, I hungered too.

“You have a keen mind for magic,” she told me, when I worked something particularly cruel on a sparrow we found feasting on her garden. “A cruel mind. But I think a girl like you has to be cruel.”

“My sister is cruel. I just wish to survive.”

“Then I hope I’ve equipped you well,” she said. “Be like the wintervine. Feast on cold, on nothingness. For they have given you nothing. Use it to sprout your ice, your thorns.”

I looked at the wintervine where it flourished in the ice, and I felt its loneliness, its stubbornness, its scorn.

At long last I was of age, and my father sent for me once more. The time to choose was drawing near, but, he confided, in some ways he feared us both. His kingdom needed a decisive leader, yes, a sturdy leader, but compassion, too, he said, was called for. He did not see that he’d been the one to rob us of that. He didn’t see the dark seeds he’d planted in both our minds take hold.

My sister began her attempts anew, but this time, I was ready.

The first men she sent to kill me simply disappeared. They became nothing more than char burned into the cobbles of my bedroom floor. The next, though, I made sure she saw, their flayed corpses piled at the palace gates. Cruelty was my reflex, now, and each test made it stronger still.

“You cannot beat me,” she hissed, over a banquet table while our father entertained. “I deserve this. I will earn this.”

She cut her steak with a furious scrape of knife and fork. The noise grated at my soul. When was the last time she had shown kindness? It had been carved out of her, if it had ever been there at all.

Father wanted to make one of us a queen. He wanted someone compassionate. Maybe compassion was still in me; maybe not.

But it would never be in her.

As she swallowed, the lump of meat grew thorns. I could almost feel it myself as I directed it, as it swelled inside her throat, tore its way through her flesh. She gagged and choked, and I imagined she gagged and choked on all the hatred she’d let fester for years and years.

I wanted the coldness, the loneliness I felt to be visible to everyone. I wanted those thorns.

Frost sprouted from my fingertips and webbed across the banquet table. She scrabbled for a goblet of wine to try to wash the meat down, but everything turned cold. A guard stepped forward—but she deserved no kindness, no comfort. I never felt her embrace, so why should she feel the same? He withered, cold and empty, before he could reach her.

“What is the meaning of this?” my father cried. “Stop this at once!”

But the cold was radiant, alive now, warming me even as it drew warmth away from everything. The dark thorns in my sister’s throat flourished, drinking up the cold, and twined their way across the table to wrap around everyone’s limbs. My breath hung in the air before me as I stood, untouched, unsnared by the darkness and frost.

I had to beat her. I could not let her win.

And if I could feel no warmth, no freedom without her darkness over me, then neither could anyone.

I do not remember what came next, but it did not come for a long time. Icicles hung from the chandeliers; black thorns sprouted from the walls. All was still and glistening and cold. I walked through the hall like a phantom, soundless, for it was how I felt. But I was all that remained of my sister’s hatred. I was her greed given form.

And I will rule for a thousand years. With this cruelty beating inside me, my sister’s words, her greed, her anger—with the coldness she left inside me—I will rule for a thousand more.

“What do you mean [Y/N] just up and left,” Gabriel shouted, taking a step closer to the younger Winchester.  The archangel’s amber eyes glared at Sam, waiting for an answer.

Dean stepped in between Sam and Gabriel, holding a hand in the air.  “Look we didn’t know [Y/N] was going to leave,” Dean defended.  “She didn’t tell either of us, Cas, or you.”

“There has to be a reason as to why she left,” Sam reasoned.  “She didn’t leave a note or anything.  She hardly took any of her stuff with her.  Maybe there’s some unfinished business that she doesn’t wanna talk about?”

————————————————————————————————–

“Owowowow,” you strained as Trevor adjusted your leg on his shoulder.

“I CAN’T SEE PAST YOUR BOOBS,” Trevor yelled from above you.

“We can do it,” you assured him, turning to check your position in the viewfinder.

Ricky snorted from the couch, and pulled out his phone. “(Y/N), stretch your arm out further,” he said, recording you.

You did as Ricky said, pleased to see that you were successful in recreating the yoga pose, but not for long. You began to shake violently under Trevor’s weight.

“I swear, if you even think of dropping me-” Trevor began.

You shook beneath him, your leg slipping, causing you to roll sideways, with Trevor collapsing on top of you. His hands flew out, grasping your hips as you toppled downwards in a fit of laughter.

“Ha ha,” Kian said sarcastically, “You can let go of her now.”

“Okay man,” Trevor laughed, offering you a hand back up.

You hopped back in place, “Okay, last one,” you panted in exhaustion.

JC stared at the computer screen, a smirk spreading across his smug face, “This one.”

“JC!” you groaned, looking at the extremely complicated position he’d chosen out.

“We got this!” Trevor laughed, bouncing up happily on his heels.

Kian glared at the screen, his arms folded over his chest, “I can find you a better one,” he offered grimly.

You sighed and shook your head with a laugh, “We got this,” you said, giving Trevor a big high five.

The pose required one person to lie on their back with their legs in the air as someone else climbed up over their legs, suspended in the air as they would rest their head on the first person’t feet, and their legs held up by them, too.

“Bottom,” called Trevor.

“Thanks for giving me the complicated part,” you grumbled under your breath.

Trevor slid into place, raising his feet up, “Get on me,” he smirked.

You snorted and slapped his foot, “Shut up.”

You hoisted yourself onto Trevor’s feet, and his hands came to your sides as he helped you up. He squeezed your sides causing you to writhe in frustration, “I’m ticklish!” you snapped.

“I know,” he smiled and slid his hands down to help push you up.

Kian glared daggers at Trevor, “Hey pal, wanna get your hands off my girlfriend’s ass?”

“His hands aren’t-” you started. “Never mind,” you corrected yourself.

JC tilted his head to get a better angle, “We should do this challenge together, (Y/N),” he grinned.

Kian gave JC a shove with a roll of his eyes.

“Sorry,” Trevor yawned lazily, fixing you into the right spot over him.

“Bit more,” you said.

You arched your back, Trevor taking your feet in his hands, his eyes blinking up at you.

“Have we done it!?” you exclaimed.

“Wooo,” Ricky hollered, “You bet!”

“Really? I think we should stay like this a second longer to make sure we’re doing it right,” Trevor teased.

“Let me down now,” you giggled.

“Oookay,” Trevor said, letting you fall from the air suddenly.

You yelped out, crumpling onto Trevor’s chest in a heap.

His hands shot up, catching you at the last second and holding you to his front.

“Jerk” you laughed and nudged him with your foot.

Trevor rolled across the floor so that he had you pinned beneath him.

“Please like this video,” you gasped for air, “And subscribe if you want Trevor to GET OFF ME!” you writhed.

“Okay, video over, good job,” Kian said, shutting off the camera.

“Buzzkill,” Trevor raised his eyebrow’s at Kian.

“How bout’ you let me go?” you panted.

“But tickling you is more fun,” Trevor complained, his hands pinching your sides.

You burst out into uncontrollable giggles, your head turning this way and that as you begged Trevor to let you go.

Without warning the pressure on your belly was gone, and you sat bolt upright in confusion. Trevor lay sprawled on the floor, and Kian stood above you, his hand extended.

“My hero,” you smiled and accepted his hand.

Kian smiled weakly, pulling you up from the ground and into his chest. You knocked his front, your head sliding over his shoulder, his own two arms slinking around your waist.

“Mm,” you cooed into his chest, startled by the affection.

JC whispered something at Ricky, who laughed and nodded.

“What?” Kian snapped at them.

“Is someone a bit of a jealous boyfriend?” JC challenged him.

Kian grimaced, releasing you and spinning towards JC, his nostrils flared.

“Come at me,” JC laughed, standing.

Kian made a move to shove JC, but you grabbed his wrist before he could.

“Kian, calm down,” you hissed.

Kian brought his brown eyes back down to yours, his body relaxing a bit. He sighed and shook his head sadly, before simply walking right out the room.

You pouted at a pleased looking JC, “Thanks alot.”

You followed Kian into his bedroom, where he sat perched on the edge of his bed.

“Hey,” you tried.

Kian ran his long fingers through his dark hair, his smile forced, “Hey.”

You sighed and gently shut the door behind you, sinking onto the floor on your knees before Kian.

He kept his eyes glued to his lap, so you bent forward and pecked his rosy lips gingerly to get his attention.

“Talk to me,” you whispered softly, placing a hand in his lap.

Kian’s lips twitched as he entwined his fingers in yours, his gaze holding yours.

“Don’t think badly of me,” he spoke nervously.

“Never would think of it,” you smiled and squeezed Kian’s hand lightly.

“I’m..I don’t know,” he paused, “I don’t like seeing you so close to other guys.”

You raised an eyebrow with a small laugh, “Really?”

Kian blushed furiously, “I don’t want to be the jealous boyfriend.”

“Are you?” you asked.

Kian coughed nervously, shrugging, “Yeah, I am.”

“Kian,” you giggled, pulling him close to your face, “Look at me.”

His eyes sad, he opened his mouth, but you cut him off.

“Babe,” you smiled, “it’s okay to be jealous. But you have to know that I will never think of anyone the way I think of you. You, Kian Lawley, are mine, and only mine.”

Kian’s cheeks warmed under your cold fingertips.

“These lips,” you said, tracing your fingers gently around his mouth, “Mine.”

“Those eyes,” you smiled warmly, “Mine.”

“Every little thing about you, the good, and the bad, are mine,” you breathed.

Kian’s familiar smile crept up on his lips, “I’m the luckiest guy in the whole wide world, so I guess I’m just scared someone else will see what I see in you.”

You shook your head with a laugh, “Doesn’t matter, that won’t change the fact that I only want to be with you.”

Kian chuckled, swinging his head down and back up, his eyes glowing again.

“Wanna show me I’m yours?” he smirked cheekily.

“There’s my boyfriend,” you grinned, bending into his lips. You lifted yourself from your crouched position, Kian’s arms coming around your waist and pulling you up gently into his lap. You wrapped your legs around Kian’s waist, perched in his lap as your lips collided. You slid your arm’s around his neck, smiling into the feeling of his lips on yours, your fingers weaving through Kian’s hair. Kian pressed himself into you, his lips curving happily as they brushed against yours.

You pulled back, your eyes closed, but smiling wide.

Before you could open your eyes, Kian’s hands came to the small of your back, forcing you to bend back into him. He dropped a kiss on your lips, nose, forehead, and any skin he could reach. Your skin grew bright from the warmth of his lips all over your face. You opened your eyes, meeting Kian’s round and unblinking one’s.

“I liked that,” you said, your eyes flickering across Kian’s face.

Kian did his adorable little lip bite that melted your heart into a puddle.

“Then why stop?” he murmured.
