the lady of the house

women contributors to iasip

y’know what’s fucked up? i don’t know anything about most of the women behind the show in any capacity. and by most, i mean Anyone besides kaitlin olson. i couldn’t name any women writers or directors. so, i decided to look it up.

do you know how many episodes have women credited as writers?

five. six.

out of 134.

the gang gets held hostage had the story written by lisa parsons.

the gang exploits the mortgage crisis, mac fights gay marriage, and dee gives birth are written by becky mann and audra sielaff.

the gang tends bar was written by megan ganz.

edit: old lady house was written by dannah phirman and danielle schneider.

that’s it, folks.

for women who have directed episodes, jamie babbit (the lesbian director behind but i’m a cheerleader, the L word, malcolm in the middle, and gilmore girls) has directed three episodes in this season: hero or hate crime?, ptsdee, and a cricket’s tale.

that’s It. that’s all the women writers and directors of the show.

and we wonder why dee gets the shaft

Coco Chanel said, “Before leaving the house, a lady should look in the mirror and remove one accessory.” Going even one step too far can ruin your whole look. This analogy can also be applied to a PR push that went at least one step too far and fucked up the intended appearance. But instead of taking off one accessory, they should have removed a scarf, sixteen pieces of flare, the brooch someone’s grandma smuggled out of occupied Belgium, one of those chains that attaches from an earring to a nose ring, all of the bracelets Johnny Depp owns and a floppy hat the size of the Lido Deck. Because they did the absolute most and it backfired.

wait why do we know the iasip book is canon thanks to season 12? was it mentioned? because if so i missed it lol

not explicitly no! it was confirmed canon in a VERY roundabout way

okay so like…. in old lady house, the letter from bonnie to charlie has a photo of a cat on it very prominently. in the book, we learn that mac taught charlie that his name is spelled “cat,” and charlie repeatedly uses the word “cat” to refer to himself in all of his chapters throughout the book.

therefore, i think it’s fairly safe to say that bonnie put the cat on her letter so charlie would know she was talking to/about him! and therefore that means the book and everything in it is canon, which actually gives us a LOT to think about when it comes to the characters

the Goddess Selki (Srqt) represented as a personified standard of the “West” with the arms raised in adoration and an uraeus with the Solar disk and the ‘Ankh’.
Detail from the inner side of the coffin of Henettawy,“Lady of the House”, “Chantress of Amon”, “Chief of the priestesses of Amon”, “Flutist of Mut”, and “God’s Mother of Khonsu”.

Michelle and Barack Obama’s last annual Christmas address is a poignant reminder of how much we love these two

President Obama says that Christmas inspires him to strive toward love, compassion, and hope. “Those are values that help guide not just my family’s Christian faith but that of Jewish Americans and Muslim Americans, non-believers and Americans of all backgrounds,“ adds the President. Plus, the POTUS and First Lady are just totally adorable.

lady olenna’s reaction to seeing/meeting brienne is still one of my favourite scenes ever❤️ brienne is so used to people making fun of her height and appearance, and just generally being cruel to her because of her physical traits. so when lady olenna is kind to brienne about her looks, she can’t help but be shocked but also show a hint of a smile. women being positive towards & complimenting other women is the shit i live for

“This family. What can I say. What an honor to have photographed them for eight years. A couple of months ago, the Social Office came to me and said they were thinking of using a family photo for this year’s White House holiday card. So I thought of Justin Trudeau. I know you’re wondering what the heck I’m talking about. Earlier this year we hosted the Canadian Prime Minister for a formal State Dinner. Malia and Sasha attended as guests. Before the dinner, I did a family photo in the White House residence. But later, when the Trudeaus arrived, the two families spent some time on the Truman Balcony with their respective delegations. At one point, the Prime Minister asked if we could do a photo of he and his wife with the Obama family. Click, click, click. Then, he said I should do a photo of just the Obamas. I could have said, ‘Sir, we already did one before you arrived.’ But instead, I clicked off a few quick frames. And lo and behold, it was this picture that Justin Trudeau asked me to take which everyone loved as the choice for the 2016 White House holiday card.” —Chief Official White House Photographer Pete Souza

Thank You to President Barack Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Malia and Sasha Obama, Bo and Sunny Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden for the grace and dignity you have shown over these past 8 years in the White House. You will be missed. Wishing you all the very best for the next chapters of your lives.

I cannot express how happy I am with this commissioned piece completed by @cocotingo. They were so quick, really receptive to my requests for adjustments and were a treasure to work with! I could not have picked a better artist to capture my most important original character.

I highly recommend taking a look at their artwork, especially if you are looking for an artist who isn’t afraid to express the angles and contours of the face. They do some beautiful portrait work and really capture the subtle emotions and facial expressions.

Thank you again, @cocotingo for being so easy to work with. It has been a great pleasure.

Beyond the obvious beauty and grace of our First Lady, one must consider the historic importance of this photo. Our history books sweep under the rug the fact that the White House was built by African American slaves. For the next 150 years the majority of the serving staff of the so called “people’s house” were African American. In 1901 Booker T. Washington was the first African American to be received there as a guest by Theodore Roosevelt, to the horror of Washington society. They are all at last vindicated in our first African American first family. Note…It is my humble opinion that no matter what family should occupy the White House after January 2017, and the following generations for that matter, they will never equal the style, debonair, and class as that of the Obamas.
