Sister Rosetta Tharpe (1915-1973) -  The godmother of rock’n’roll!
Singer, guitarist and songwriter, she became famous in the 1930s for her gospel program on American radio. Legend has it that the king of rock'n'roll, Elvis Presley, as a kid, run from school to listen to the show and the songs she sang on the radio. Although unrecognized today, she was in fact the queen of kings, she inspired, in addition to King Presley, other noble artists: BB King, Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry and many others.
