the intimate adventure of a london call girl

the adventure of the greek interpreter may easily be my favourite canon short story because:

  • “during my long and intimate acquaintance with mr sherlock holmes,”
  • mycroft holmes, “the queerest man in London”
  • watson having to call holmes “sherlock” in his writing to differentiate him from his brother (s2g I was giddy everytime it happened)
  • the whole holmes brothers one-upping each other with their deductions
  • in general the holmes brothers banter is delightful
  • watson actually deducing stuff correctly and making holmes happy
  • the greek girl stabbing to death the fuckbois who kidnapped her
If it helps you breathe (1/4)

Summary: “In London, you can keep secrets. You can be anonymous, you can be whoever you want. A/N: Many thanks to the lovely fadewithfury for her invaluable help.

She was on a roll, typing away about a couple fornicating on a train, when she was rudely interrupted by her Beyonce ringtone. Jackie. Hannah winced as she picked up.

“You’re invited to Sunday lunch,” her sister said in a honeyed voice.
