the heart and soul of excalibur

I hate that Rumple’s one, SUPPOSEDLY noble action, suddenly makes him a hero. One good does not erase lifetimes of evil and that selfish heart he had long before becoming the Dark One is not suddenly pure simply because he no longer has power. It’s more than the dagger, his narcissistic nature is deeply rooted and festers within his very soul. Regina and Hook have had to work diligently to become the heroes they now are and yet their hearts do not remain without mar. However Rumple, with one action, is suddenly more worthy then they to remove Excalibur and the saving grace for Storybrooke? It is a pointed insult to the arch and positive progression the others have so struggled to make.
