the god species

honestly the funniest shit in all of star wars is in return of the jedi when c-3po pulls out the random fucking prime directive ass shit out of nowhere like “it’s against my programming to pretend to be an undeveloped species’s god!” then everyone is just like “goddamnit 3po they’re gonna fucking roast us alive for dinner” and then he suddenly just doesn’t give a shit anymore and does it, complete 180 in the blink of an eye

One year after my original plan to finish this cosplay, i can finally say that Troll Tier Dave is complete! Ive been wanting to cosplay something that no one else has cosplayed yet, and ive always been inspired by the species swap au’s, but none of those au’s ever had a Dave in god tier( and to hell if i was going to pass up the chance to make wings for him). So i took my desire to cosplay Dave Strider and put a “you are making this way more complicated than it needs to be” twist on it. and after hours of staring at dozens different types of butterfly wings, my concept for Troll tier Dave was forcefully, but successfully pulled into existence.

Wow! This was a ton of fun to do, even though it took a few days to complete. I love banette, so I couldn’t resist doing the variations meme with it~ It was pretty tricky finding a good balance between the species and still making the design recognizable as banette, but ultimately super fun!

There are four designs which I didn’t like enough to finish - you can look at them here.

MYTHICAL CREATURES sketch preview - the second costume of Tigereye Peak! With this costume, a villager changes into a mythical creature or animal god based on their species. The horse turns into a kirin, the rabbit into a jackalope, the dragon into an oriental dragon, the wolf into Fenrir, the cat into a shisa, and the fox into a kitsune.

When Creationists talk about God creating every individual species as a separate act, they always instance hummingbirds, or orchids, sunflowers and beautiful things. But I tend to think instead of a parasitic worm that is boring through the eye of a boy sitting on the bank of a river in West Africa, [a worm] that’s going to make him blind. And [I ask them], ‘Are you telling me that the God you believe in, who you also say is an all-merciful God, who cares for each one of us individually, are you saying that God created this worm that can live in no other way than in an innocent child’s eyeball? Because that doesn’t seem to me to coincide with a God who’s full of mercy’.

  • What she says: I'm fine.
  • What she really means: In Zootopia, Nick makes at least two references to God, once when he finds the Jerry Vole CDs and once during his flashback. Additionally, Mr. Big's transport polar bear crosses himself when Mr. Big talks about his now deceased grandmother. All of these events imply that there is at the very least a Christian-based religion within the world of Zootopia. Ignoring the fact that this is a Western animated feature intended, largely, for Western audiences and that the scene with Mr. Big was a reference to the Godfather, what does this mean for the religious structure within Zootopia and its surrounding communities? Do they actually believe in God or a god? If so, what form does this being take? Given that there are hundreds if not thousands of species represented in Zootopia, what species is God or the god? What about Jesus, if he exists in Zootopia's world? Do certain species have claim to Jesus as one of theirs? And what about other religions, like Judaism and Islam, that have similarities to Christianity but are not the exact same? Are there different interpretations of the origins that have led to different religions with different species as the main figures in their canons? What of polytheistic religions? Are all religions limited to one species, or are there cross-species religions? Do some species have a greater claim to a religion than others? Have there been religious wars over who has the "right" claim to certain figures that feature predominantly in religious doctrine? Are these possible differences reconciled in Zootopia, like the predator and prey relationship is supposedly like? Or are they still an issue, but not as obvious, much like the predator and prey relationship as explored in the film?

My thesis is the reverse: playing God (in the sense of being intelligent designers) at planetary level is essential if creation is not to be irreparably damaged or even destroyed by humans unwittingly deploying our newfound powers in disastrous ways. At this late stage, false humility is a more urgent danger than hubris.

THE TRUTH OF THE ANTHROPOCENE IS THAT THE EARTH IS FAR OUT OF BALANCE, AND WE MUST HELP IT REGAIN THE STABILITY IT NEEDS TO FUNCTION AS A SELF-REGULATING, HIGHLY DYNAMIC, AND COMPLEX SYSTEM.

Most Greens also emphatically object to geoengineering - the idea that we could consciously alter the atmosphere to counteract climate change, for example by spraying sulphates high in the stratosphere to act as a sunscreen.

BUT THE OBJECTORS SEEM TO FORGET THAT WE ARE ALREADY CARRYING OUT MASSIVE GEOENGINEERING EVERY DAY, AS A HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE STEP INTO THEIR CARS, A BILLION FARMERS DIG THEIR PLOWS INTO THE SOILS, AND 10 MILLION FISHERMEN CAST THEIR NETS.

THE DIFFERENCE SEEMS TO COME DOWN TO ONE OF INTENT: Is unwitting and bad planetary geoengineering really better than witting and good planetary geoengineering?

The Age of Humans does not have to be an era of hardship and misery for other species; we can nurture and protect as well as dominate and conquer.

But in any case, the first responsibility of a conquering army is always to govern.

One of our primary motivators for finding extraterrestrial life is them sharing their advanced technology with us, but what if the aliens are super fucking conservative about that?

“You lazy god damn carbon species are always so entitled, no one handed US ion laser propulsion systems. You have to work for it like everyone else, the universe isn’t just going to GIVE you the cure for cancer. Christ. Young species…

Alien Species Contest

Hey guys, I’ve never made a contest before, so let’s do one related to a favorite topic of mine. Sci-fi!

The contest is simple, design an alien species along with their planet, and I’ll chose my top 3 favorites! The winners will get their species mentioned in my book Intertwined: Aliens and Robots, and will have a lace in the council (I might also draw them, though it won’t be to good). Which currently only has humans and Macaterians in it (Macaterians being my made up species.)

Rules For The Species:

-Can not be over powered. Ex: Power of time/power over the universe, or any god like abilities.

-Cannot be taken from any shows, movies, games, or books. It must be made by you. (It can be inspired from another species though, just can’t be that exact species.)

-Seriously. If they’re are freaking gods species who can do anything in the universe, I will ignore them. keep them within reason.

-Does not matter if hostile or friendly.

-it can in fact be a kind of robot.

Rules For Entry:

-Do not have to be following me to enter.

-Send entry through submit.

-Must include: Picture or description of species, descriptions of their behavior, traditions for them, planet description, means of defense, if they are hostile or not, and what status are they (primitive, advanced etc.)

I can’t wait to see every one’s designs and ideas! I also can’t wait build up the council of galactic protection (also taking suggestions for the council name ‘_’)
