Hello! My birthday is April 3rd and I was wondering if I could request a drabble. I love arranged marriage fics but any type of Everlark drabble will do. Thank you!

A/N:  Happy birthday on installment!  Here is part 1, with the rest of the story soon to follow!  This “drabble” was going to be bittersweet, but for a number of reasons it became a five-chapter story with angst, bittersweet, and (yes, gasp!) happy/playful.  (The title “geometry” will start making sense as of the next installment.)   I hope you have a great day today!

Contract for Marriage

Heretofore exchange Graham Mellark, father of Peeta Mellark, and Lily Everdeen, widow of James Everdeen and sole legal guardian of the minors Katniss Everdeen and Primrose Everdeen, the following pledges for the marriage of Katniss Everdeen to Peeta Mellark as follows:

  1. Graham Mellark shall ensure his son, Peeta Mellark, a male recently turned eighteen years, both marries Katniss Everdeen, a female of seventeen years, and assumes the role of legal guardian for Primrose Everdeen.
  2. In exchange, Lily Everdeen shall convey the Everdeen home, property and all her personal possessions, to Peeta Mellark.
  3. Graham Mellark further promises to employ Peeta Mellark for reasonable wages for the purpose of providing for Katniss and Primrose Everdeen, paid as a mix of food stores and monies, for a period of at least five years following the date of said marriage.
  4. Graham Mellark further promises to provide new school clothes for Primrose Mellark at the start of every school term.
  5. Graham Mellark further promises to pay Katniss Everdeen the sum of Fifty Credits within a day of said marriage.
  6. Graham Mellark further promises the Mellark Bakery will purchase goat cheese exclusively from Primrose Everdeen, at market rate, up to the weight of three stones a month as supplies allow, for a period of at least five years following the date of said marriage.

There’re signature blocks, signed by Katiss’ mom and my dad.  There’s a stamp of “accepted,” and official filing notations at the bottom, and I also recognize Mayor Undersee’s signature too.

It’s official, apparently in all ways except for Katniss’ and my forced vows.

Vows I found out less than an hour ago we’d be making.

Let No Man Separate

Author: @setoutwithme

Rating: T/M for Language and suggestive adult themes

Trigger Warnings: None other than an extremely brief mention of abuse. (If others please let me know)

Summary: Canon AU: A wedding ceremony that has the power to break Katniss and her heart.

AN: Honestly was thinking of this all week and procrastinated till the end. I don’t know where this came from but I just ran with it. Usain Bolt style. ;)

“If there is anyone here that thinks these two should not be wed, speak now or forever hold your peace.”

The church was silent as the guests discreetly looked amongst each other. Yet, Katniss could feel the pressure of almost every eye falling on her as she stood behind the bride. Her posture rigid and frozen as she kept her head down and her eyes locked on the bouquet in her hands. The petals rattling as she tried to control her shaking that certainly had nothing to do with being nervous.

No. It had everything to do with the tremendous wave of anger, frustration, and betrayal coursing through her at that very moment. A consuming need to lash out at everyone around her against an intense instinct to bolt from her place to avoid the damage. Still, in her own misery she remained standing and hoped that the audience of this spectacle realized just how lucky they were that she didn’t carry her bow at that moment.

so here is your throne.
here are the prejudices that you call home.
here are the eyes of young girls closing,
locker room doors opening,
patchwork pulled from the seams,
skin pulled from the seams
to hang up as curtains.

so here is what you didn’t care about:
new york city, a hand down my pants in the subway
and me, not wanting to upset him.
my grandmother with her back bent over an ancestry,
trying to carry it home.

look her in the eye, she’s engaged to her girlfriend,
tell her that she matters
with yesterday’s facebook status “lol not going to vote.”

so here is your future,
a room full of red hats and plastic masks
using skin color as curse words,
using “she” as a symptom,
using hate in a hailstorm as shelter.

turn off the television
and look in the mirror.
there is his throne.

Everlark Advent: Day 20, For Unto Us, Part 4

Part 4 of what will be a five part story. Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.

For Unto Us, Part 4

Rated T

“Listen,” I say, moving as close as I dare. She lifts her reddened eyes to mine, defeat plain on her face. “I can help. I - I want to help. Please let me help you, okay? You’re not alone, not anymore.” Relief flows through me when she nods.

I’m freaking out so much I can barely breathe. The beautiful meal Peeta prepared sits like a rock in my gut, threatening to make a reappearance. This isn’t supposed to be happening. The books I read at the Seam library said my baby wasn’t due until the end of January. I was supposed to have time!

And now I’m standing in a stranger’s bathroom, soaked with amniotic fluid and shame. Terrified.

Though he doesn’t feel like a stranger. Not anymore.

 “You survived!”

Chloe was situated at the headboard of the bed, Beca’s laptop perched on her knees. She had her own - of course, who didn’t? - but she liked exploiting the fact that she knew Beca’s password. There was something exciting about having access to the one thing that Beca trusted no one with, even if she used it to watch cheesy dramas about doctors or reality television shows about love.

She also took some enjoyment from filling Beca’s internet history with those things, if only because she knew that, in the middle of the night, Beca would notice and feel a second-hand embarrassment from it all.

What’s your fandom story… what brought you here?

My first contact with THG was through the movies. My husband practically had to drag me to watch the first one! After watching CF I was completely hooked, so I downloaded MJ.
