the gate of worlds

anonymous asked:

@Harry: Wait.. 'current' Cerberus?? There were others before him?

My first Gatekeeper is where you’ve probably gotten the legends about a “three-headed beast” and the sort. Though, like all my previous gatekeepers, they decided to go through the quest gate to earn their way back to the world of the living. And they did. After that, Cerberus became a title for all gatekeepers after that in honor of the first one.

As for my current Cerberus’ real name? He went by XD:0021 in life, and got a new name when he came here.

wow I just thought of a whooole idea of a dragon’s gate equivalent for sailors overseas, and how it’d be similar to the Bermuda Triangle and Lake Michigan Triangle where ships just vanish beyond the fog (theories once thought maybe into a different world/dimension — alas, overseas dragon’s gate).

me, less than 15 mins of being awake: wow that’s the coolest shit ever this works so well with oversea travelers

now it sounds weird as hell and dragon’s gates are likely on land-only.

Underrated Anime

Here are some titles that I feel deserve more love than they get!

From the New World - This anime was a masterpiece. Paced and well-planned, the show entangles you without you knowing until its too late. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to sink their teeth into a psychological fantasy that leave you with a strange mix of innocence and uneasiness.

Princess Jellyfish - A love story between a confident and fashionable crossdresser and an awkward, introverted girl. This is golden!

Welcome to the NKH! - Just the right amount of humor and psychological torment to keep every viewer enthralled. Is it a conspiracy?

Monster - What happens when a promising young doctor saves the life of a boy who was fated to die? A gripping thriller of justice and revenge!

Bokurano - A group of kids become the chosen pilots of a robot faced with saving the planet, a beyond awesome experience for them!…or so they think. They sign the binding contract and now each one of them must pay the price.

Wolf’s Rain - As legend has it, wolves will open the gate to Paradise in a dying world. This anime is a gripping, heart-wrenching tale of an unlikely pack of wolves searching for promised Paradise. Out of any of the shows on this list, Wolf’s Rain is worth watching. It is a legend it its own right.

Samurai Champloo - THE MUSIC. The music alone should be enough to draw you into this epic tale, but in case you need more persuasion, know that this show revolves around the two most badass fighters in town and their quest to help a girl they are indebted to find the samurai who smells of sunflowers. Ugh its so gooooood.

Mawaru Penguindrum - Weird and comical sum up this anime pretty nicely! It is a fun watch that you will find hard not to binge on once you start. Stay with me people: An alien penguin-hat grants a girl her life back in exchange for her two bothers’ help in acquiring the Penguindrum (whatever that is). I know what you are thinking, but please give it a try! You won’t regret it!

Eden of the East - “This nation faces a great crisis. One among you must save us. I cannot tell you how. I cannot tell you why. Should you fail, you will be eliminated.” 12 people have been chosen to save Japan, each given a phone with 10 billion yen on it and the simple instruction to save Japan–their lives are on the line. Despite this harsh description, the actual show also has an element of humor, so don’t be afraid to jump in! Noblesse Oblige.

Steins;Gate - Many of you have probably heard of this and thought that is was too stuffy or complicated for you, but I’m here to tell you that you will watch this show, make it to episode 22, and then thank me. YOUR WELCOME. Sure, this show takes some getting into, but once you delve deeper into the plot, you will find things falling into place. It has unconventional characters, a really great romance stuck in there, and a pretty refreshing, sciency tone. Enjoy.

Nodame Cantabile - To think that so many people have not seen this gift to humanity sickens me. Nodame is most assuredly the most interesting and unique anime character to walk this little anime earth. There is music! There is romance! There is SO MUCH HUMOR! There are 3 seasons!!! You can’t really pass up this opportunity to watch a legend.

Hunter X Hunter (2011) - This is the only long-running shonen series I will ever watch. This is a series for those of you who like action but not fight scenes that span multiple episodes and like actual character development and good animation consistently throughout the show (I swear its perfect the whole way). Gon wants to be a Hunter just like his father and he meets Killua, the boy-assassin (an resident cinnamon roll), Kurapika, the last of the Kurta clan hell-bent on revenge, and Leorio, a guy who wants to strike it rich. Follow these four on a journey you won’t forget!

Dare to take the challenge and guess all my Fav Characters?

World History: Ishtar Gate

The Ishtar Gate was the eighth gate to the inner city of Babylon. It was constructed in about 575 BCE by order of King Nebuchadnezzar II on the north side of the city. Dedicated to the Babylonian goddess Ishtar, the gate was constructed using glazed brick with alternating rows of bas-relief mušḫuššu (dragons) and aurochs (bulls), symbolizing the gods Marduk and Adad respectively. It was excavated in the early 20th century and a reconstruction using original bricks is now shown in the Pergamon Museum, Berlin. How far can Usopp fire his Kabuto?

Let’s use his feat at Enies Lobby for example. He successfully shot down several Marines across an incredibly long distance through a very windy day. But how far WAS it?

Here’s a picture of Dorry about to fight Luffy

Luffy is 5′7 according to the One Piece wiki. Stacking him up against Dorry makes the giant 13 Luffys tall.

Run that through the calculator 13 times and you get 72 feet and 7 inches.

Now let’s assume that’s the average height of a giant. Hang in there, we still have a bit to go

Here is two giants bending down in front of the main gate. When you bend down like that, you drop about 2 feet (I measured myself with a tape measure for this). Bent down, they’re about as tall as the main gate. So let’s assume the main gate is 70 feet tall. Here is the main gate compared to the Tower of Justice.

Not counting the flagpole it’s 3 Gates tall. Which makes the Tower of Justice 210 feet tall.

Now here is the MASSIVE Gates of Justice

Stacking the tower on top of each other (Not counting the flagpole again) we see how tall it is. We can’t see the top of the curve in this picture, so we can only assume it’s 6 towers tall. Run that through the calculator and the gates are 1260 feet tall

Now here we CAN see the whole door (I didn’t use this picture since the tower here is bigger, and this is more of a perspective shot).

Taking the tower from our previous picture and going from the sides to the middle, each gate is 810 feet long.

Trust me, you’ll see where I’m going with this

Here’s the Bridge of Hesitation, where several Marines were shot down by Usopp.

With the open gate in the background, putting them up against each other makes the bridge 2 and a half gates long 840 x 2 + 420 (*snicker*) The Bridge of Hesitation is 2100 feet long

But wait! What about the water in-between the tower and bridge? While this is an angled picture, this is as good as I can get.

The distance between the bridge and tower is about 3 bridges long with the third bridge going behind the tower due to the perspective. Which makes it 6300 feet long.

So after all of these calculations….we can come to this conclusion.

Usopp was able to successfully snipe off several Marines and save Robin while standing at a height of 210 feet at targets that were 6300 feet away, with severe wind, while using A FREAKING SLINGSHOT.

Rogue One planets: Scarif

Scarif was a secluded and tropical planet in the Outer Rim Territories region of the galaxy. Despite its remoteness, it played an important part in the Galactic Empire’s military-industrial complex, becoming a center for Imperial top-secret military research. In this capacity, it housed a multitude of different projects, including the construction of the first Death Star battle station. Because of its importance, the planet was protected by an impenetrable deflector shield that enveloped the entire world, with the only opening being the Shield Gate.
