the flame that burns within us

Assistance in Weight Loss Candle Spell

Need help losing weight? Here’s a little spell I thought up

What you need:
Your sweat (seriously)
A white candle

Instructions:

Do whatever you are physically able to do to work up any kind of sweat.

By doing the physical activity of your choice you are building up energy.

When you are finished, wipe off your sweat and use it to dress your candle. Essentially you’re wiping your sweat on the candle. By doing this, you’re adding your physical energy to it.

Burn the candle

Envision yourself losing the weight as you meditate on the flame

Chant:

“Inch by inch
off my waist,
pound by pound
I will lose.”

Substitute the unit of measurement as needed.

End the spell with:

“(In deities’ name/As I will it) it will be done”

Let the candle burn out.

Then treat yourself to a healthy snack! Exercise as often as you can, and within your ability to do so. Don’t push yourself beyond your limit. Continue to eat your recommended amount of meals per day, please don’t starve yourself.

I hope this helps.

Girl,
you were born with a fire inside you,
and this world is determined to stamp it out.

You will see it when you stand up for yourself
and you are told ‘it isn’t ladylike to raise your voice.’

You will hear it when you wear something that hugs your body
and feel the uncomfortable sensation of being stripped naked
by the eyes of men who call you names you are still too young to understand.

You will know it when a man tries to use his strength
to have his way with you the first time,
and you need to use your fists/teeth/legs to get him off.

You will understand it when you see
your mother’s eyes filled with terror
because you are an hour later than you said you will be home.

But you must never ever let them take
those flames from within your soul,
Instead, you must burn brighter than ever
because you are a daughter of the Sun,
And you belong only to yourself, not to this world.

INCINEROAR
As its fighting spirit increases, the flames that Incineroar produces within its body burst from its navel and waistline. Since the flames somewhat resemble a championship belt, they’re known as its “flame belt,” and the Pokemon unleashes moves that use flames from it. In the heat of battle, Incineroar shows no concern for its opponents—and sometimes even launches attacks that strike the opposing Trainer! As a result, many tend to dislike this Pokemon and keep it at a distance. If a crowd watching it battle is pumped up, Incineroar’s fighting spirit will burn brighter. But a lackluster crowd can make it lose focus or fight shoddily. When it receives the admiration of young Pokemon and children, it may keep up its cold attitude on the outside, but in its heart of hearts, Incineroar is immensely happy. It loses the desire to fight when faced with a Pokemon that’s clearly weak or injured, and it sometimes gets taken advantage of as a result.

Do you have any recommendations for spells for finding your truest self? I'm working through some gender dysphoria and related sexuality issues. (I'm currently seeing a therapist through it but was hoping to work the magical angle too.)

This spell is best done over time, generally I would suggest doing it for the week from the first quarter moon to full moon. You can repeat it monthly for as long as you feel you need to.

Take a white candle (or choose a color that represents you) and carve seven lines to divide the candle into seven equal parts. Every evening you will light the candle and burn one section, as you light it recite:

“Within my heart a flame is lit,

Truth be found or made to fit.

My self revealed to inner eyes,

No more to heed my old disguise.”

Use the time while your candle is burning each evening to write and allow your truest self to speak. You’ve just summoned them so now it’s time to listen to what they have to say.

You might even try writing from the perspective of your truest self, “My true self feels…” or “My true self wants…” can be powerful prompts. Every time you find yourself stuck as you’re writing start the next sentence with “My true self needs/feels/is/etc.” and allow whatever follows to just flow. The idea is to get out of your head and out of your own way as you do this, your truest self is in there, all you have to do is give them the chance to speak!

I could feel it
with my fingertips
how your body danced like flames under my touch.
It was precious to us,
I thought,
how our hands always ended up joigning,
heathing up my cold skin,
like I was self-providing,
creating the fire that I needed within you.
It seems though,
that the things that come go,
that waves burned through,
and that I am meant to drown.
Fire ain’t no hell or I’d wear the crown.

What inspired you to get involved in activism?

Once I became more informed and saw the world for what it is I became enraged and a flame lit inside me. I started actions in the streets before primaries when Trump was about to be the republican nominee. I have this burning passion within me and it’s a force that I use to fight fascism, sexism, homophobia, xenophobia, racism, nationalism, islamophobia, etc.

Mahal’s Forge

How had the line of Durin been brought so low?

The thought swirled like a storm behind Thorin’s brow, clouding his eyes, seeping down his spine and chilling his chest. It was a phantom ache he had grown used to, but at the same time, he knew he could never embrace this coldness. His pride would not allow it, nor would his stubbornness.

Dis used to say that within the chest of a Dwarf lay a forge, burning with determination to create and shape the world around them, whether by heat of intent or by mallet of force.

Anthologia Palatina 5.221 = Paulus Silentiarius (6th cent. CE)

How long will we go on
Casting furtive glances at each other,
Trying to conceal the flame
   That burns within our gazes?
We must proclaim to the world
   Our cares and agonies,
And if someone should try
   To hinder the soft entwining
Of the union that set us free
   From the suffering we feel,
Then the sword will be
   The remedy for us both.
For it is always sweeter for us
   To pursue a common fate,
Whether it be life
   Or whether it be death.

Because he didn’t just ignite a flame within me.

The Aries Witch ♈ Candle Magick

Candle magick is one of the simplest forms in witchcraft. You need nothing but the candle and fire to light it with. Candle magick can also be seen to be complete within itself, as the body of the candle is made up from the elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water. Spirit can be represented by the wick of the candle, as the wick is where the potential of the candle lies and will be unfolded with. With the candle lit, the flame of your intent will burn

Another fancy piece for my fancy personal project.

He loves me, he loves me not.

I sit tearing each petal one by one.
He loves me, he loves me not.
The day I met him I understood what a metaphor might feel like.
It hit like a truck—my heart dropped.
The day he smiled, ice seemed to replace the blood running in my veins.
Shivers raced down my spine, yet warmth filled me as a smile formed in reply.

He loves me, he loves me not.

I even remember the day he called me “his.”
Pinching myself in self-doubt of the possibility.
In HIS eyes, I belonged to HIM.
Those beautiful eyes, I looked into them every time I had a chance.
Those beautiful eyes that reflected his inner beauty, opening a pathway to his uncensored thoughts.
Those eyes he used to stare deep into mine, losing his breath or smiling straight after.
The eyes that illuminated with fire whenever he became passionate, burning a flame within his heart as he ranted to me.
The eyes that soften when mine were flooded, and could whisper that it would be okay.

He loves me, he loves me not.

As time moved on, it seemed he did as well.
I denied all, crying and praying for the lie to be dissolved.
Until I came face-to-face with the one I trusted the most.
His words soothed me, easing a pain in my heart, telling me what I wanted to hear.
But looking into those once gorgeous eyes, the truth stung like poison.
His eyes spoke what his words wouldn’t.
Flower petals piling around me continued to grow.
I knew the right answer, but my heart screamed no.
Tearing a garden apart for answers I wasn’t going to find.
Just like those beautiful eyes tore up my once beautiful mind.

He loved me, he loves me not.

Gothic Harry Potter - Locations: Durmstrang

Even those used to snow found the castle and grounds to be frigid. Trails of footprints, small and large, appear in the extensive grounds; meandering in no particular direction. Following them could lead you to a rare potion ingredient, or far into the forested slopes of the mountain with no way back. Clocks slow and stop within a week, and candles burn with cold flames. The light that enters through wide windows is cold, tinted, and weak.

so i was in my religious studies class (it's a requirement, I go to a Catholic school :( )
  • teacher: so what can you tell us about this parable of the rich man and lazarus
  • me: well when the rich man is in hell and is calling out to abraham, abraham addresses him as "my child"
  • me: so, while abraham is watching this man burn alive, he knows it is justice and it is right.. but he still holds affection in his heart for the wayward man and there is remorse within him as he sees the flames devour the man
  • me: wait a minute
My heart aches
for some sort of traveling.
I want to get acquainted with promising places,
with sheltered corners, with quaint memories.
Let me build a bridge to connect
you to me
and take a detour
straight to the part of your heart
where an old flame used to burn.
I’ll kiss you with my flames
and it’ll be short of a catastrophic passion.
This is courage.
This is acid on wounds
but not flinching.
This is trying.
This is a whisper of love.
A flickering potential.
Let me make you tremble
because there’s an ocean of me inside you
and when doubt shakes you,
you’ll hear my waves of love
crashing within your body and soul.

Today in history: August 6, 1945 – The U.S. drops nuclear bomb on Hiroshima, Japan, the first use of nuclear weapons in war. Three days later the U.S. also uses nuclear bombs on Nagasaki, Japan.

Within the first two to four months of the bombings, the effects killed 90,000–166,000 people in Hiroshima and 60,000–80,000 in Nagasaki, with roughly half of the deaths in each city occurring on the first day.

The Hiroshima health department estimated that, of the people who died on the day of the explosion, 60% died from flash or flame burns, 30% from falling debris and 10% from other causes.

During the following months, large numbers died from the effect of burns, radiation sickness, and other injuries, compounded by illness. In both cities, most of the dead were civilians.
