Prompt: “Please marry me.”
Kent’s home, watching Bob’s Burgers with his cat and eating way too many potato chips for his own good. Seriously, his mouth is starting to feel all cut up and even Kit looks disappointed in him. He didn’t exactly care, because Alexei was out on a roadie and couldn’t talk much. So Kent wasn’t exactly keeping himself together like he did around everyone except Kit.
Around the same time Netflix asks if he’s still watching, Kent hears a light knock on his door. It takes him a while to convince Kit to get off his lap and untangle his feet from his blanket, and he throws the door open a second before the person knocks again.
Kent is just staring, because the person at the door is none other than Alexei Mashkov, his long-time boyfriend who was supposed to be on a roadie. Only, Alexei’s not towering over him, like usual. No, he’s down on one knee and looking up at Kent and that’s, like, a first.
“Please marry me,” Alexei simply says, sounding like he’s practiced it a million times in front of his mirror like some high school kid. He reaches into the pocket of his jacket and pulls out a ring. Kent isn’t really one for marriage, or for big flashy rings and Alexei must’ve known that because it’s simple. A single little diamond inlaid on a thin gold band, subtle enough that nobody would even notice it if they weren’t looking.
Kent drops to his knees in front of Alexei, grabs his face in both hands, and kisses him like the world is ending around them. He pulls away to breathe and Alexei grins at him, face flushed. “You never answer,” he says, sheepish. Kent laughs.
