Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5

I love the moment in The Ersatz Elevator when the Baudelaires finally arrive at the Squalors and the lights go back on. While climbing up the stairs everything was dark, and while reading this I really felt like I was in a very dark room, not able to see anything. Then they arrive and Esmé gets a call that light is in again, and they open the blinds. I loved that because it made me feel like light suddenly being switched on after watching a film in class or leaving a movie theater. While reading this moment I felt like my eyes had to get used to seeing light again. I love when writers make you feel like this.

Star Wars Watch: Rogue One

so as there has always been a debate on “how to watch star wars” one of the most popular ones is called “flashback” where you go 4 > 5 > 1 > 2 > 6

So my question is, how would you incorporate Rogue one? I would put it at the beginning, here is why.

1. Title Scroll. All the other films has this, not this one. The title scroll gives an almost “Last Time on Star Wars” kind of feel, while this one is obviously stand alone and leads into episode 4, so putting it “last” or outside the “watch” doesn’t really work if you want a real good narrative.

2. Luke is the New Hope - As others have said, the brings more emphasis on episode 4 and what it meant to get the plans and destroy the death star; but it also brings out the fact that the movie makes mention that “The Jedi are no more” a couple of times in the film, so when Luke learns he is a jedi, he is literally the galaxy’s new hope.

3. Darth Vader - so in the orignal film, Darth only had about 12 minutes of screen time, and only a little bit of a shadow on everyone (it wasn’t really until 5 where he came off as the threat) here, not only is Vader introduced as someone that is “known and not seen” we are also given only a bit of what he can do as well as well as we have seen what he can do to just mere soldiers, meaning once we see him again in episode 4, we know he is a threat cause we have seen what he can do.

So from one’s perspective.

The Empire > “There is no Hope” > an extremely dangerous person appears > Suddenly a new hope > Someone that can stand against vader > holy shit, vader is luke’s father > the origin of Vader and the Jedis > How the villains won > Episode 6

so again: Rogue One > 4 > 5 > 1 > 2 > 3 > 6 > 7

One thing I noticed after finishing Iron Fist and watching some Asian martial arts films, is that the Asian martial arts films has a sense of impact in the fight scenes. It feels like characters are actually be hurt, while in Western made stuff it seems characters just go down just because. Is it just me? Or do you get that feeling too?

“Iron Fist” in particular has some very soft moves. The throws are always over the shoulder and look like one fighter is just gently putting the other one to the ground. It’s the same with the many arm locks in “Iron Fist”. They just don’t have any impact.
I think a massive part of the problem is sound effects. “Iron Fist” has some weak sound effects. We should be hearing crunching bones and the real sound of impact, but we’re just getting dull thuds and people tumbling to the ground with a whisper.
You’re right though. Nobody looks like they got hurt in the show. Like, there isn’t a single moment I’ve uttered “Ouch!” under my breath. Everyone looks like they can get up, dust themselves off and be just fine.
They could have utilized special effects and done CGI zoom in shots to nerves being severed and bones being shattered. That way they don’t even have to act out the impact. They can actually show it. That would have been dope.
I’m hoping they made some major changes with “The Defenders” because “Luke Cage” had the worst fight scenes I’ve ever seen and “Iron Fist” is definitely lacking. We can hope they brought on better choreographers. Choreographers that actually make Luke Cage look strong and Danny Rand look like a living weapon.

Do you ever watch too many horror movies or ghost hunting shows and get the feeling that there’s a ghost hanging out around your house? Because that’s me right now. I just got back to my apartment in New York after being gone for weeks due to filming and other events, and I’m pretty sure a ghost moved in while I was away. Things just seem to keep disappearing and getting moved around. I’m Ansel, and I feel like either I’m losing my mind, or I need to contact Ghost Hunters asap.

I’m getting a couple messages like this. Sorry everyone. I haven’t stopped YouTube. I have some video ideas. It’s just taking me a while to do them because I use up so much of my energy live streaming. I’m hoping to film videos this weekend. Sorry for the lack of uploads; I really want to get back to it.

So my dad has started reading Lemonade (I sent you an ask some days ago about that, remember?) and you have no idea how much Rick smiling while reading Magna's sms annoyed him. He went like (talking to Rick): "Liiiiiiisten.... What the fuck are you doing, boy. What are you making me read?" (I don't know if this last sentence makes sense in English, but it's exactly what he said). He get always so involved whenever he reads/watch things and my filming ANYTHING. I swear, Ash, you have to watch it.

I love this, and yet, I feel like I’m in trouble? Please tell him I’m sorry. And I can’t wait to hear/see more of his reactions! 😂👀

“The mean reds, you mean like the blues?”
“No. The blues are because you’re getting fat and maybe it’s been raining too long, you’re just sad that’s all. The mean reds are horrible. Suddenly you’re afraid and you don’t know what you’re afraid of. Do you ever get that feeling?”

It’s been a while since I drew something new so here’s a thing from the beginning of January.

Hate This Jealous Feeling (Requested)

Summary: You hated the feeling of jealousy, but you mostly hated that Suga didn’t understand how you felt. Maybe getting even would help him understand.
Members: Suga x Reader
Type: Angst/Fluff
Length: 932 Words

I really hope you like this scenario. It was fun to watch because I realize I would be kind of a jealous girlfriend if I was dating an idol like Yoongi. Hope you enjoy <3 I do not own this gif.

It had been a while since the filming of We Got Married, but you still felt a bit uncomfortable watching beside the episodes beside your boyfriend. Yoongi insisted that you didn’t have to watch it, but you knew that he really wanted you to. So you sucked it up. Every week you took your spot on the couch, sitting between Yoongi and Jimin, and watched the show with the rest of the boys. You watched the show in silence as you saw you saw your boyfriend flirting with the female idol he was paired with.

Your stomach tightened every time you watched him smile over at her during their dates. He was an absolute gentleman during the events and treated his partner with all the respect that he showed you when you were together. For some reason, this rubber you the wrong way. You weren’t normally the jealous type, but you never saw Yoongi so close to another idol. Halfway through the episode, Yoongi and his partner were having a lovely picnic in a cute park. You watched as he reached over towards her and tucked a lock of her hair behind her ear, resting his hand on her cheek for a little longer than you would have liked.

You couldn’t bear it any longer. You quickly stood and excused yourself from the room. You made the excuse that your stomach was hurting, which wasn’t entirely a lie, but you would hate to admit to any of the boys that you were jealous. You entered Suga’s room and shut the door behind you, collapsing on his bed and screaming into his pillow. You hated this feeling more than anything. It was unfair. You had to be the secret girlfriend. You had to remain out of the public’s eye. You had to watch your boyfriend flirt with these girl groups and you couldn’t blame them; to them you didn’t exist.

You heard a light knocking on the door before it opened. You didn’t bother to lift your face out of the pillow, knowing exactly who was standing in the doorway. “I don’t understand why you are upset, jagi.” He said in a blunt voice as he approached the bed. You felt the bed shift beneath you as he took a seat beside you. He placed his hand on the back of your head and lightly brushed his fingers through your hair. You swatted his hand away. “Come on! I have explained this to you several times. It is just a show. I have no feelings for anyone besides you, ____-ah. You are just over-reacting.”

That was the last straw. “Over-reacting? How would you feel if you saw me acting like that with another guy?” You snapped at him as you finally looked up. You felt your heart pounding in your chest out of anger. Usually you would just sigh and agree with him, letting your jealousy roll off your back, but you couldn’t handle it anymore. Before Yoongi could reply, you quickly stood and went towards the door.

You’re right, jagiya. I am just letting my emotions get to me.” You say in a cold voice. It doesn’t take a genius to tell that you were still upset, and Yoongi definitely wasn’t an idiot. He followed you out of the room as you went straight to the living room. You found Jungkook and Jimin sitting on the floor playing video games. You took a seat on the couch, right beside Taehyung. “Why aren’t you playing with them?” You ask in a playful tone as you lean closer to him. Tae was one of your best friends in the group, closer to your own age than Suga, so he didn’t really think anything of this.

However, you knew your boyfriend was not completely happy with your relationship with his group member. He watched from a few feet away as you talked to Tae. “I’m just waiting for Kookie to lose so I can play.” He informed you with his signature rectangular smile. You laughed as Jungkook argued that he would be the one to win. Your hand slowly rose and started to play with Taehyung’s hair, something that you normally did with all the members. It wasn’t anything new to them, but you knew Yoongi wasn’t fond of your habit. You slowly turned to face him and gave him a sly smile.

You watched as Yoongi’s face turned red from anger. He charged towards you and grabbed you by the wrist, dragging you to his room. He slammed the door loudly behind him before turning to you. “What the hell was that?” He yelled at you.

“Didn’t feel good, did it?” You ask in a calm voice, knowing that you proved your point. You watched as the anger slowly dissipated from his expression. A small smile tugged at the edges of his lips. He came over to you and placed his hands on either side of your face. “Okay, okay, I guess you were right. Jealousy feels like shit. I’m sorry I ever put you through this.” He said as he placed a light kiss on your forehead.

“I’m sorry too. I know it was immature of me to make you jealous, but I needed you to understand.” You explained and delicately placed a kiss on his lips. A bigger smile formed on his face. “Then how about I announce you as my girlfriend. That way other girls know not to flirt with me.” He suggested. You were overwhelmed with joy and threw your arms around his neck, placing several kisses on his face.

There were a couple of times I looked at Adam like, ‘EEEEEE!’ and then obviously it was nice because I was laughing at bits. I think I’d much prefer to watch it together because you get a sense of how other people are feeling as well, and that’s exciting. But we all went downstairs and we didn’t really talk about it. We sat around and I had some pie because it was the day after Thanksgiving and pretended like we hadn’t just seen it.

Hiii Kristen! I'm not feeling very well (I have fever and a terrible cough) and I was just wondering if you have any fic/movie/series recommendations that I can spend my time in the sofa on? Thank you so much!

sorry you’re feeling ill my friend, i hope you feel better soon!!!

if you want fics that will take a while to get through and will occupy you for longer i recommend:

First Impressions (Perhaps I Was Wrong) // There is a Light That Never Goes Out // The Traces We Leave // I Dare You To Love Me // Professionally, Yours // But It Takes Someone To Come Around To Show You How // Pacman 300 // Stirring In Love

as for movies, last time i was ill I watched Enchanted, both Joe and Caspar Hit The Road films, the Simpsons movie, Laid in America and Marley and Me (i don’t know why i did that to myself either) and then the Little Mix Get Weird tour dvd which isn’t a movie but i thought i’d throw it in there because I genuinely did watch it haha, but i recommend comedy movies for when you’re ill because laughing always makes me feel even a little bit better!!

and as for series, Friends is always a winner! but if that’s not your cup of tea then i always find myself watching whichever Family Guy and American Dad episodes are available on iplayer, and if that’s not your biz then my mum recently got me into a series called Catastrophe that might be worth giving a watch, i find it funny anyway!

Summary: While covering as a substitute teacher for Snow’s maternity leave, Killian is entrusted with a class pet, and the pirate gets a parrot. Feathered fun ensues. More to come.
———-

It had all started rather innocuously.

Henry and Emma both enjoyed watching pirate-themed films with their real-life pirate. Henry was always full of inquiries, questioning nearly every scene, wanting to know if things were accurate. They usually weren’t. Hook, for one, was very thankful he didn’t know anyone with a peg leg.

“How about the parrot?” Emma had asked one night, her words mushed around a mouthful of popcorn. “That one’s got a parrot on his shoulder."

"So he does,” Killian said.

“You ever meet a pirate who had a parrot?” Henry asked.

“The only pirate I ever knew who might’ve had one was Captain Silver,” Killian responded.

“Long John Silver?” Henry said, incredulous. “You knew him?"

"Wait, the crappy fish restaurant?” Emma asked, confused. Henry shook his head at her in dismissal, before looking back to Killian eagerly.

“Aye,” Killian said with a portion of disdain. “That’s the one. My brother and I had the misfortune of working under the man. It was said he had a green parrot–”

“Captain Flint,” Henry confirmed.

“–Aye,” Hook said, continuing, “But I never saw such a bird, myself."

That had ended the matter, for the most part, and the film had gone on. Most of the time during pirate movie marathons, Killian was the first to fall asleep. (Pirate movies bored him. Star Wars, on the other hand, had been a completely different story; he had been especially enthralled by Han Solo’s character.) He guffawed the innacuracies, but eventually they bored him, and he ended up asleep, his head in Emma’s lap, as her fingers weaving gently in and out of his hair, tickling at his scalp until he drifted away.

So I decided to take a trip down memory lane. I was curious about how JaDine’s past music videos will make me feel now that I have accepted the fact that I ship them. HARD. Reel or for Real.

Alam Niya Ba

Now, this was JaDine’s first ever project together. While watching it, I did get some feels but it was obvious that Nadine wasn’t that comfortable. Nevertheless, they still looked cute and really good together. It was a bittersweet music video and throughout the video, I did see some little sparks that proved that they did have natural chemistry together. I also commend James’s lovey dovey looks towards Nadine, but I could still tell that it was only reel.

OJD: 7

No Erase

This song was from their first ever blockbuster film Diary ng Panget. At this point, it was obvious that they were more comfortable with each other.Nadine’s smiles were more genuine albeit I could tell that it was still reel. I couldn’t deny how in the music video they did look like they  more comfortable with each other compared to Alam Niya Ba. I saw more of their developing friendship in this music video. One thing that didn’t change was that they still looked really good together.

OJD: 7.5

Bahala Na

NOW WE’RE TALKING! Guys. I just can’t with this music video. It’s super obvious how they’re better friends now and I can already see some snippets of the real JaDine. Their chemistry was just exploding I had to hold myself back from squealing. This is actually my favorite song of theirs, so I’m not biased or anything. They look more comfortable with each other and their sweet gestures for this music video was just too much for my shipper heart. The part were they were just nuzzling their faces against each other really got me. Like dayuum guys, have mercy on my heart. Even though this music video was more genuine than the last 3, I knew that they could still top this.

P.S. They still looked really good together.

OJD: 9

Hanap Hanap

Okay, let’s talk about Hanap Hanap. This music video was oozing with natural chemistry. Those prolonged looks and hand grabbage got to me. The part where James slowly encircled Nadine’s waist around his arms was just epic. The whole music video as a whole was very touchy which I loved. JaDine legit went from 0-100 real freaking quick. I can’t believe that from Alam Niya Ba to Hanap Hanap their comfort level with each other has surpassed my expectations. I can vividly tell how close they have gotten with each other in a short amount of time. Is it reel or real? Who knows. A round of applause for these two for messing with my feels, please.

P.P.S. They still looked really good together. Just saying.

OJD: 9.8

On The Wings Of Love

Halp. Have mercy. Please. These two are too adorable for their own good. This music video sent chills down my spine. The line between reel and real was too blurry. They looked like they were not even acting, they were simply just being themselves and having fun. My thoughts were proven right on this, when I watched an interview with James saying (pertaining to this music video) “after we were done acting, no, not acting. After we were done having fun.” [not verbatim but pretty close.] I literally teared up while watching this mv. Their smiles, the consistent heated looks, the intimacy and everything that should be cliché pierced an arrow through my shipper heart. It was all too much. I just can’t with these two. Plus, you know what? The still look really good together. They are individually really attractive, so I guess it makes sense why they make a beautiful pair. *whipers* imagine what their babies will look like.

Why Borrowed Time was made:

At first I was gonna attach this to a post that came across my dash, but I feel that the person who reblogged it might feel that I was criticizing them for reblogging, which is not my intent or goal. Plus I feel it’s better to just start fresh and post my own thoughts separate from the comments already made on that post to avoid confusion or miscommunication.

While I am actively avoiding mentioning spoilers of the short film, I do recommend you watch it before reading further- it’s worth the watch and beautifully animated and rendered.

“I watched the animated Cinderella film recently hoping I’d appreciate it more than I did as a kid. While I do like Cinderella’s character much more, I feel bad for still thinking her film is boring, because it’s such a beloved classic. On the other hand, I watched the live action Cinderella when it came out, and I loved it immediately, movie, character, and all. To me, it’s nearly as perfect as a fairy tale movie can get, and one of my favourite live action films of all time.”
