the face of the (wo)man behind the blog

So I’ve decided that from now on, I’m going to do a new daily activity on my blog every month, and for the month of July I’m going to post a photo of myself daily with an anecdote of what I did that day. SO…here we go!

JULY 1ST: LOOK AT MY NEW SHOE! I finally have a pair of heeled ankle boots! AND IT HAD BLACK SEQUINS! Can’t wait to wear these in NOLA (because God knows I can’t wear them here…I need places to hide them from my parents xD) My friend, Kelsey bought me them, so my parents wouldn’t question my purchase, if they saw the charge on my debit card. As compensation, I bought her a pretty vest of the same price c:

4 / 15 / 11 - DAY OF SILENCE

Please understand my reasons for not speaking today. I am participating in the Day of Silence, a national youth movement bringing attention to the silence faced by LGBT people and their allies. My deliberate silence echoes that silence, which is caused by anti-LGBT bullying, name-calling, and harassment. I believe that building awareness and making a commitment to address these injustices. Think about the voices you are not hearing today.

What are you going to to end the Silence?

I can pretty much call this semester over, and I’m checked out of the dorms now…so I’m trying to get in the holiday spirit! MATHIEU THE PANDA AND I WISH EVERYONE A HAPPY HOLIDAY!

JULY 21ST: Today was a rather fun day in the toddler room, but my little ditty for today isn’t about that. So my high school principal, who’s been with my school since it was opened in like the 60’s, died last week. Tonight, I went to a prayer service where we prayed the rosary with his family and everyone else in the school community (which mind you is an all-boys Catholic high school). In typical me fashion, I managed to still stick out, while still in a nice more conservative, more masculine than what I usually wear outfit (half shown above; LOOK AT THE WAFFLE CROSS =D), since all of the students/alumni donned the usual assembly dress of coat and tie.

It was interesting going back to my high school…I remembered the sheer brotasm of majority of the guys there, and I could remember most of the people that were there and what grade they were in when I was there and what they did (the entire row sitting behind me at the service was filled with guys from my graduating class)…I wasn’t your typical Strake Jesuit College Prep boy…I wasn’t your frat-boy-in-training, show school spirit at sporting events, talk about hooking up with that girl at that party, getting wasted and/or high on the weekends, “hey, bro what’s kickin’” type guy - it’s just not who I am and never would be. But then again it dawned on me after I graduated that part of the reason I felt so uncomfortable there wasn’t really my sexuality (which I was open about if asked about it), but rather because of my gender identity and not being so decidedly MALE in a place overrun by testosterone fueled egotism.

Today made me realize that I definitely appreciate the time I had at Strake. It helped me realize a societal view of the world that I want to challenge in my life now. It brought me the much needed view of the world from the lens of men, which I never really got when I was younger, and it has kind of completed my own personal view of the world and gender and sexuality, especially in regards to men and those who revel and deliberately delve into the trappings of masculinity.

So rest in peace, Mr. Nevle, a great principal and true “man for others”. The school that you loved will miss you dearly.

So currently I am in Las Vegas with my family. We are staying at the Bellagio AKA one of the most beautiful places I have ever been in, and I want my life to be just like this - being deliciously deviant surrounded by absolute beauty and decadence. Now…if only I can find some way to do some sinning in the City of Sin, then that would make this trip so much more perfect…I’ll be tweeting the whole time, so you can check out that here. Until then my followers!

JULY 29TH: Today was fun, so I had fun playing around with poses for the camera and just settled on this one. It was my last day as an acting member of Team Toddler at The River for the summer…sadface…I really enjoyed this summer at The River, made a lot of new friends, created new inside jokes, and grew to love several little ones…I will miss all of them, and I hope to see them all next summer!

My night was spent with my friend, Kelsey. We kind of had a bro night…we had wings for dinner then watched Captain America! Although, we totally lost bro points for a) playing DDR in the theatre arcade before the movie, b) commenting on how hot Chris Evans is throughout the movie (mainly me commenting), and c) making way too many comments during the movie and having the people in front us hate us…actually that last one might’ve given us bro points for being disruptive…anyways, the movie was awesome, and if you love superhero flicks based on a classic with a more than decent plot, great special effects, and a hot leading male then this is a movie you should go see. Watching this movie reminded me of how much of a bromosexual I am..because Chris Evans is one of the most brotastic actors ever…and he’s just really damn sexy…and they were lots of hot bros that watched the movie…and I can’t have them…and I wanted them V.V But tis my life.

ONE DAY I WILL HAVE A BRO, AND HE WILL BE ALL-AMERICAN AND BEAUTIFUL AND HE WILL BE MINE! xDD I kid…I’m not that desperate…but I would like a cute boy in my life…

Holy shit, this is the last weekend of July, y'all! LET’S FINISH THIS SHIT RIGHT!
