the dw tumblr adipose reblogged this

Hello Whovians. Does anyone else feel that chill in the air? That stillness? That feeling as if time has

Ah, that’s right, it must be the feeling of the Doctor Who off-season. Season 9 is coming later this year but we would do anything to have our own TARDIS right now to skip ahead so we can watch!

In the meantime- we were wondering if anyone has anything specific they’d like to see more of on the blog. More Bessie? Perhaps more TARDIS drawings? More adipose or cosplay pictures? More contests or reblog chains? A day dedicated entirely to nail art and Minecraft skins? We’d very much like to know!

Send us an ask or reblog this post with some feedback and we’ll take it into consideration. Also remember that we’re always searching the tags, so post more of what you like and it may show up here!

(That’s the tiny dance we do every time we get feedback from everyone)

idk I just get highly amused when I make a gifset of an RTD-era Moffat episode and people reblog it with tags like “remember when Doctor Who was GOOD?” like.

1: It’s still freaking amazing

2: That one happened to be written by the dude you’re pretending to hate for really close to no reason at all

Good morning Booooovians! The sun is shining, the Terileptils are singing, and it’s finally one of the best days of the year: Wholloween! We even made sure to break out our best costumes for the occasion.

To celebrate this ghostly day, we’ll be reblogging everyone’s Wholloween costumes, pumpkins, decorations, prose, art, and anything else you guise can think of all day long. If anyone decides to post a thing, make sure to tag it with #Wholloween so we can find it!

And some tips that everyone should remember for tonight-

  • Don’t blink
  • Don’t breathe
  • Don’t think
  • Don’t turn around
  • Don’t look under the bed
  • Don’t…um, just don’t!

(Also, before anyone asks- no, we’re not sure what would happen if a weeping angel and a Silence were having a staring contest, but we’d love to find out.)

Hi Whovians! Happy December, and happy 25 days until the Doctor Who Christmas special ‘Last Christmas’! This year in the spirit of the season we’ll be doing something special that involves flexing our little adipose fingers and posting something brand new every single day. (Spoiler alert: we’re not making daily lasagnas, we know everyone was thinking that.)

If anyone’s #NewToWHO or new to the Doctor Who Tumblr- the DW Tumblr is run by a team of Adipose hopping about the keyboard, and besides reblogging things and providing everyone with Doctor Who news and articles, we also take pictures in front of cool things we find and dress up in funny costumes.

So we couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate December and the Doctor Who Christmas special than by doing a Doctor Who advent calendar! Starting today, we’ll be posting a new Adipose picture every day leading up to the Doctor Who Christmas special on December 25. What sort of pictures will be posting? You’ll have to wait and see, but luckily only a few hours because that’s when we’re posting the first one!

We’ll be tagging all of our advent calendar pictures with the tag #DW Advent Calendar if everyone wants to follow along. We hope everyone’s as excited as we are about this super fun thing and we’ll see everyone later today with our first picture.

Are you guys doing anything for NYCC?

Yes! BBC America will be hosting a fan screening of episode 8 ‘Mummy on The Orient Express’ Saturday October 11th from 8:15 PM - 9:15 PM, Empire Stage 1-E. Here’s some more info:

BBC America presents its first ever Doctor Who Fan screening at New York Comic Con with the new episode “Mummy On The Orient Express.” The episode, written by Jamie Mathieson (Being Human, Dirk Gently) and directed by Emmy-winning Director Paul Wilmshurst, will be shown to Fans at NYCC ahead of its premiere on BBC America.

The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and Clara (Jenna Coleman) are on the most beautiful train in history speeding among the stars of the future. But a deadly creature is stalking the passengers. Once you see the horrifying Mummy you only have 66 seconds to live. No exceptions, no reprieve.

As the Doctor races against the clock Clara sees him at his deadliest and most ruthless. Will he work out how to defeat the Mummy? Start the clock!

Guest Stars in the episode include Frank Skinner, Foxes and David Bamber.

We’d also like to mention that Arthur Darvill (Rory Williams) will be doing autograph signings on Thursday (today!), Friday & Saturday, and that Alex Kingston (River Song) will be doing signings Saturday and Sunday. For the full schedule of signings please check out New York Comic Con’s page here.

Alsoalso, be on the lookout for a little adipose running around the con floor, because we’ll be on the hunt for Doctor Who cosplayers to post to the blog. If you’re at New York Comic Con this weekend and come across some amazing Doctor Who cosplay, be sure to tag your uploads with #DWNYCC. We’ll be reblogging stuff from the tag all weekend!
