An adorable sketch for a page from Don Freeman’s Corduroy. It is housed in the Children’s Literature Research Archives at the University of Minnesota. It’s neat to be able to see what goes into putting together a children’s book.
Here is the cover of Kinder-und Haus-Märchen, by Jacob Girmm. It’s from 1857! It pains us to put a facsimile stamp over the image of such a beautiful cover, but you can always see the original (As well as the equally beautiful illustrations inside, and the interesting gothic font they used) at the archives.
