the bravest of them all

  • you: snape had the most tragic death
  • me, an intellectual: fred weasley had his whole life ahead of him. hedwig was the lost of harry's innocence and childhood, and dobby was a free slave that was murdered by those who thought they were above him. sirius black spent 12 years in prison for a crime he didnt commit, and yet still blamed himself for the deaths of his best friends, and then died after living his time in freedom in a house he hated, barely seeing the one person he loved more than anything in the world. remus and tonks had finally found happiness, and were going to have a child and won't live to see that child grow up. the creevey brothers were underage and shouldnt have been fighting in such a terrible war to begin with but they did anyway. cedric diggory was not meant to be in a war, but he was the bravest of them all, he was kind and good, and he was thrown aside like he was nothing, but spent his last moment standing beside harry potter, ready to face an unknown enemy.

Hello, Gryffindors.  I suppose it’s time we had a chat, isn’t it?  I’ll never understand the division between all our houses at Hogwarts.  It is, after all, the best wizarding school in the world, so we’re united in that.

First off, this nonsense of needing to be the bravest, most brash of them all to be in your house.  It simply isn’t true.  It’s one of the traits you might possess, and you can definitely be proud of it, but it might not even show itself in ways you might think of.  If the Sorting Hat put you in Gryffindor, but you feel like it isn’t quite the right fit, you could look at what some of your fellow classmates have said about their own houses.  It seems, that not everyone feels quite comfortable with where they’ve been placed.  That’s fine, of course, but try to take a moment to think about why you might have been put there.

Last week I had a man with special needs stop and talk to me in hot topic for at least a half an hour cause I was buying a hufflepuff hat and he had to tell me all about how hufflepuff was the best house and the badger was the bravest animal of them all. It honestly made my day. He was so passionate. I got a high five every time I agreed with one of his points too. A great ending to a terrible year I’d say.

I’ve seen posts calling taylor a coward for leaving calvin. That it’s cowardly to leave. That standing up for herself and having the courage to exit a situation she knew wasn’t right, and was causing a lot of pain, is somehow a spineless choice.

Maybe these people will understand one day, when they find themselves in Taylor’s shoes, and are faced with having to make that same decision. Maybe they’ll be subject to receiving the same kind of outsider’s harsh judgement. Maybe they’ll be strong enough to make the choice to say, enough is enough. Maybe they won’t. Maybe they’ll realize that leaving a painful situation like that is the bravest option of them all.

role reversal au: mary, lily, alice, and marlene are the marauders.

“They were inseparable. There was Lily Evans, a fiery young witch. Prefect then head girl. Marlene McKinnon was never far behind — the youngest girl to be accepted on the Gryffindor Quidditch team. Eventual captain, as well. Alice Fortescue, who could command and clear a room like no one else in her year, was often found with them. Then Mary MacDonald completed the crew — and she was quite possibly the bravest of them all. Astounding girls, they were, but they had a knack for trouble.”

Rules: Tell us your ten favorite people from ten different fandoms and then tag ten people

I was tagged by @bettsforjuggie. Thank you you’re sweet :)) Thing is I’m not in that many fandoms sooo I’ll just do as much as I can

1. Regulus Black (Harry Potter)

Oh Reg my dear, you are the bravest of them all. You saved a house-elf, do you realize how sweet this is ? You saved someone that is not even considered as a being in your society, you tried to save the wizarding wold by destroying Voldemort’s horcrux, a word unknown to many and an act of bravery unknown too. You died knowing that your mother would never know that you were a traitor, and knowing that your brother would never know you were on his side.

Regulus I would save and marry you if I could. You are the best slytherin of us all.

2. Lady Sybil (Downton Abbey)

3. Jughead Jones (Riverdale)

Juggie is kind, smart, salty, adorable.. he’s such a good and loyal friend and son, a protective and cute boyfriend and an awesome human being (okay he’s not a human being but you get me). Please be real and let’s be friends

4.  Castiel (Supernatural)

I feel like I did a loong paragraph for Regulus and now I don’t know what to say anymore… I like Cas because he’s loyal and deeply loves *Dean* Humanity and is truly human with his strong emotions that are - by the way - so well acted (congrats Misha). Ooh and I love how Castiel is that strong and powerful angel and Cas is that clumsy and adorable little thing

@itsmhayward @riverdalexoxo @milkshakejones @jasonblossomsghost @emoreggiemantle @themorningatthecastlesgarden @addcolortomysky I’m waiting to see yours you guys xxx

If you ever want to do it and I didn’t tag you just say I did and please have fun doing yours :)

someday, when you’re older
and don’t scare as easy,
i’ll tell you the story of my big brother.
some knew him as a criminal
some knew him as a king

for me, he was just a boy
dusted with freckles and eyes darker than the night
his smile is my first memory,
shining through the cracks of the floor
that i called home for sixteen years
all those years, and he was my only sunshine

he was the bravest of them all,
his blood and my blood
forged from the same kind of storm
and i know he would walk to the edge of the earth
just to remind me that i always had a home

he told me once that his life didn’t start
until the day i was born,
and that was the day i knew
that when my brother is gone,
the world will be flatter
when his light flickers out,
the air will be a little colder

i can survive this world without him,
he is the one that taught me to be strong
(but that doesn’t meant i want to).
