the blog part of my blog

What are your favourite blogs on Tumblr?

*Clears throat* Oh boy, here we go. Sit tight!

@sonofhistory - One of the first blogs that I followed. I noticed immediatly how good the admin was when it came to being accurate when answering questions in asks. I think this blog is an inspiration for most history blogs, and rightly so!

@bantarleton - I must admit, this blog was part of the reason I started my segment on history facts. I love the fact that they post all sorts of pictures with great captions about the 18th century.

@bbcphile - Ok, but have you read @bbcphile‘s Hornblower fanfiction? Because if not, you’re missing out. It’s fantastic, and unless I’m mistaken, a few more chapters have been added on the latest gripping series, Harboured and Encompassed. Yes, yes, yes!

@ploddingthroughthepresidents - I love both the tumblr blog and the actual online blog. I wish I had this much dedication when it comes to reading about history. Also, the admin has some great insight on the founding fathers.

@marq-de-laf - So much amazing quality information on one of my favourite historical figures! Keep it up. People need to know more about the real Lafayette.

@whatsaflyingjib - This is the place I get most of my ship pictures. I love Age of Sail blogs, and this one is especially good. Also, a rare, actually active source of Aubreyad stuff.

@cslewiscarroll - Literally, this blog is the reason I started reading up on Lord Byron. And, as I now know, Lord Byron is fabulous. So go and give them a follow!

@wolfecalmplusplus - They don’t always post history stuff, but when they do,  it’s really good. Also, unless I’m mistaken, the username is a combination of the surnames of James Wolfe and the Marquis de Montcalm. I love them??? Unless, of course, that isn’t the case. But I hope it is.

@greetingsdr - This blog is incredible, seriously. The art is so good, and most of it is fan art for Washington’s Spies, which makes it even better.

@longmaytheysail - Dear old vessels indeed. As I may have mentioned, I love ships. This blog is a wonderful place to find wonderful ship pictures. Case closed.

@fuckyeahnaturalphilosophy - The perfect combination of Age of Sail, various sea creatures, and the Aubreyad. I think they reblogged a post of mine once and I was duly flattered.

I could list so many more. The history fandom is full of incredible writers and historians. Also, this doesn’t even touch on my favourite roleplaying blogs, but the list would grow ever longer, so I’ll stop.

I hope this answers your question!

Anyways it’s unfortunate I even need to make this post but I have a stalker (yeah MJ/Madison this is about you!!) that’s been creeping on me for years and I truly should’ve said something sooner instead of brushing it off and just hoping she’d go away cos clearly that isn’t going to happen!! She won’t stop coming to my blog or sending me and some associated with me weird ass intrusive anons even after I publicly asked her to stop and even had the audacity to come to my stream last night to creep on my friends and I (still after I asked her to stop!!) and I am legitimately considering leaving tumblr and ghosting all social media so she can’t find me I am so uncomfortable!!

So just a heads up if you know me/were a part of my life at some point in the last few years and you get some weird ass/creepy ass anon (or your blog gets lit up from Greenville/Asheville) it’s probably her so just block it thanks! I wish I could give you an @ for you to block but she literally only made a tumblr to stalk me/try to talk to me which is how I even found out this was happening and it was her to begin with and she deleted after I wanted nothing to do with her but that didn’t stop her from coming to my blog lmfao?

There’s pages and pages and pages of this :^) every single day!! And it’s been like that for a year+ ever since I reinstalled statcounter!! I don’t even wanna think about what was there before I reinstalled!!! And she’s dug up posts about my ex from 2+ years ago too and even mentioned her among other things she picked up on from creeping on me when she tried talking to me a few months back?? Fucking creepy punch in the gut!!

This is the last time I’m going to acknowledge you or this situation Madison/MJ/Maryjane/whatever the fuck you go by now. Leave me and everyone associated with me alone. ESPECIALLY the others!! Don’t message them! Don’t creep on their blogs! Leave them out of it! It’s been years and we didn’t even fucking date like there’s no reason you should be so obsessed with me!! Move. On.

Taking a Break

I know I haven’t been drawing a whole lot, but I’ve decided to put the blog on a brief hiatus. It will probably last a few days (so honestly you probably won’t even notice).

The truth is, I’ve really been hating my art lately, more specifically the method by which I create the digital part of the art. It just felt really tedious and annoying during the last couple updates.

I’m hoping a little break where I force myself to do something else, or at least not think about having to update the blog will help me out. Maybe play some video games or write or something. I don’t know.

Anyway, I’ll still be around and hopefully update again soon after I get through this frustration with my artistic process.

since no one seems to be happy with lgbt, mogai, or any other acronym or umbrella term, i came up with a new one that i think is gonna cover all our bases:

mpreg = marginalized people of romantic, erotic and gender

one of the reasons why I did straight white boy problems was because I wanted to grow as a person. This blog was my medium and I pushed myself to create, and to create, I had to expand my perspectives.

In some ways, the straight white boy character that you became acquainted with was an exaggerated version of myself. Many of the problems were real life occurrences/observations/events that I drew from personal experience, but some problems also came from friends or were satirized to the point where the anecdote was unrealistic. Straight White Boy Problem #965 is honestly one of my personal favorites because this “problem” was actually a real situation in my life, and this situation could apply for several dudes that are questioning the meaning of masculinity.

The person that started at problem #1 is not the same person that finished with problem #1000. I was very much a self-entitled brat when I started this blog, but i have grown since then. I will be graduating college in december with a dual degree, leadership positions in student organizations, and the confidence that I can go out and do anything I set my mind to.

having a level of internet popularity (this blog finished with just over 164k followers) on a medium such as tumblr is very scary. one bad move, and you lose your rep - we have seen that with zubat, pizza, and most recently, sixpenceee. my advice to yall is to keep holding people in these positions accountable, but NEVER elevate internet famous people above other people. not everything i said over 3 years was 100% politically correct, but when i was in the wrong, i had fair and jovial conversations with people to figure out why i was in the wrong. no matter where you go in life, try to treat everybody fairly and equally - hopefully they will do the same to you.

as for my name, you can call me alec. i did promise i’d tell you guys who i was after everything was said and done so there ya go.

thank you for following this blog and thank you for being a part of this experience. this blog was a giant, beautiful mistake that just kinda happened and im happy that yall enjoyed it as much as i did. i may do something in the future, i may not, but i leave this blog a changed and better person.

do you ever think about how when even was manic he said 'we're so going to get married' and then when he was depressed he said 'in another universe we're together for all eternity' and cry

I cry more about what that turned into actually??? They started off talking on such a grand scale, “man of my life” and “married” and “eternity”, and while that might be romantic… I feel like that didn’t serve Even particularly well? If you’re living life as a film, you might make the big gesture and let the curtain fall. If you’re living life thinking of all the parallel universes, you can comfort yourself that one of them is getting it ‘right’. What I really loved about season three was that it wasn’t too precious about anything, Isak and Even enjoyed all the talk about the infinite and du er mannen i mitt liv but it wasn’t what ended up actually meaning the most to them.

What wound up being the most important thing was you and me and this bed and now. And then ‘move in with me because I want you and your dirty socks and your elbow next to mine on the kitchen table’. The everyday, every day. The “now” means more to me than any hypothetical forever and they’re giving everything they could right at this minute. That’s what gets me more than anything with them, seeing them take such good care of each other because they aren’t counting on anything else. Because life is

feelbending  asked:

Thomas I hope you're okay with all the current drama, I personally believe that you did nothing wrong at all. You're always making sure you're inclusive and doing the right thing, sorry your fandom's exploded :(

Hey!! Yeah, I’m doing fine!! Please don’t worry, these sorts of things happen sometimes and it gets very hard to address and handle all at once! I have made mistakes though, so please don’t feel like you have to defend all that I do, that’s not your responsibility, and I’ve been doing what I can to make sure things were addressed!

There was a piece of art of myself that was posted a while back that I put under a Read More and tagged nsfw because it was, and it was revealed later, after the artists’ bio was updated, that they were not of appropriate age, and that was a complete mistake on my part to make sure! I’ve always made a point to clarify, if people asked me, that if they were to do any nsfw art of me and submit it, that they should be of appropriate age to be doing so. My tumblr started as a personal blog and I thought tagging things appropriately would be enough, but this occurrence absolutely made me rethink how my blog was laid out and how much more consideration I needed to be putting into my blog and who was viewing it, so I made a public apology for it yesterday (in the #TSask) and decided to restructure my blog in order to make sure this never happens again. Posts I deemed too questionable, I have removed and if they ever go up again, they would be going up on a sideblog of some kind. I absolutely appreciate those who brought this up to me. I should have been the one to catch it, and I need to be far more vigilant about what I post from here on out!

There was also the post I responded to about why I felt it right to include asexuals and aromantics of any combination in the community. I’ve been having many really awesome and respectful conversations with people on both sides of this argument and its been really good, for me and I think for a lot of them, to gain understanding on where we’re both coming from. I am so grateful to those who came to me and got to discuss with me incredibly important things to remember and respect: the early struggles of the trans and gay community, the Stonewall Riots, the travesties and systemic oppression that still happen around the world today that need to be fought. We also got to discuss issues like arranged marriages that affect people on all areas of the spectrum. We talked about different demographics of the community and where they would like to stand or not stand. And the importance of limited resources made available to people of the community were discussed with me as well. I’ve been so absolutely grateful to those of you who came to me and are still coming to me to talk through these things, because I don’t claim to know everything, and many of the discussions were ended wonderfully respectfully. In the end, obviously, I have no, or maybe just really little, say in what defines the community. In what I say, I am absolutely making no attempt to prioritize people over another, because there are some extreme things that need to be fought. I can only be in control of myself and who I deem to be valid and who I would like to offer my support. I truly am trying to put myself in everyone’s shoes and see where they’re coming from. And I am so grateful so many of you came to me so respectfully to talk! That’s amazing! That, I think, is the most optimal form of discussion for people on both sides. I don’t like seeing anyone on either side attacking each other, and it’s so devastating to see so much of it.

I truly hope this helps bring clarity for those of you who were confused or looking for an update! The internet can be a confusing place and the truth can be mangled, but I am doing everything I can to make sure I amend for any bad decisions and hear you all out as best as I can. I’m only human, and I truly do care about you and where you’re all coming from, so I hope you can all bear with me!

As a Christian

I can honestly say that understanding, tolerance, compassion, and acceptance are the main characteristics of my religion, and many people in the practice don’t believe that, and it makes me really sad. The scripture says bring your weary, tired and broken, not your white, male, and cis.
