are you familiar with the feeling of oh-my-holy-moly-my-life-is-a-complete-mess? me too fam. but now, it’s time for change. It’s time to get our shit together and here are some tips to get started.

note : this is just a beginning guide; which only includes 1/100 of the tips to get you life together. I’ll probably make a part two if this is helpful?


1. do not procrastinate.

sounds crazy? but honestly, just don’t. procrastination leads to stress and anxiety and helps you lose your shit.

but, how do we not procrastinate?

  • ‌get things done early. remember that sheet of paper your professor gave around in class having the list of all the assignments to be done that semester? yes, do that work months before if you have time.
  • do your homework the day it’s given. (no watching tv before you do)
  • ‌study in the time you’re actually studying. don’t go on your phone half the time. If you’re doing that, you may as well put your books away.

2. become the master of  “fake productivity”

fake productivity is basically when you do mechanical work (i.e. stuff which doesn’t require much brainpower) to get into the real “productivity” zone. it helps you brain prepare for the big task ahead. here are some things to do -

  • make your bed
  • do the dishes/laundry
  • clean your room (i know it’s messy yo)
  • get your closet together
  • empty your inbox (be it gmail or tumblr)
  • do a smol workout?
  • make a to-do list/ organize you calendar
  • do a easiest or the most enjoyable task off your to-do list

3. plan, plan and plan

your planner/bullet journal should be your best friend. plan those essays you got to write, that research paper you have to do, down to the time you need to go out for dinner with friends. Plan. Every. Single. Thing. I. Really. Mean. It.

+ and follow up with those plans!! you have already wasted a lot of time on planning, you hAVE to follow up with that planning, right?

4. wake up early

why?  waking up early gives you the time to do things slowly and carefully so that you get it perfect in one go and your life isn’t a complete disastrous mess.

how to wake up early? i got you.

5. have a healthy lifestyle

an example -

x wakes up at 7 am every morning, goes for a short run to wake herself up and comes back to have hearty breakfast of eggs, bacon, slices of bread and a mug of steaming hot tea. she starts on her work after that, doing it without stressing about it. Then, after a nice hot bath and a delicious lunch, she goes out to a cafe to work on her online classes and to hang out with her friends. coming back home, she does a quick workout, takes a shower and heads off to make dinner. Having an early dinner, she spends the remaining few hours relaxing, drafting blog posts and spending time with her dog. at 10 pm everyday, she heads off to her bed, looking forward to a glorious tomorrow.

..sounds like a fairy-tale, right? you can definitely live it though.

In general, your day should have the following stuff  -

  • ‌sufficient hours of work using which you can get all your work done
  • ‌a healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner (yep, no skipping meals)
  • ‌a workout, generally of 15 - 30 minutes at the least
  • ‌interaction with people, like hanging out with friends or family
  • ‌sufficient sleep and resting time (preferably 8 hours of sleep)
  • ‌a fixed routine consisting of you waking and sleeping at fixed time
  • ‌a ‘me’ time at some point of the day where you don’t worry about work or anything and focus on relaxing after a long day.

6. believing that coffee sucks

why? its basically a drug and if you need three cups of it just to get started on work, you’re going to have a really hard time during finals.

Instead, get enough sleep so that you have enough energy to study without being a coffee addict. or you can even swap coffee for water. (hey, you’ll be more hydrated!)
side note - a cup of coffee per day is okay though. I love coffee too and I totally feel you but don’t overdose on it, okay love?

some extra things to know about -

  • ‌have a companion to keep you accountable at the start.
  • ‌do have a laid-back day once in a while, you’re human after all.
  • balance work and play. reward yourself for shit done.
  • keep track of your spending, earnings, investments, etc.
  • stop being a perfectionist. seriously, you dont need to rewrite all those notes, trust me (comes from a was-a-perfectionist-kind-of-still-am-but-trying-not-to-be perfectionist)
  • ‌don’t stress yourself out. getting your shit together is a journey and not a result.
  • remember, change will come. yes, it will; but only if you take action. start now.

also, on a side note - and this might seem very ironic, but sometimes you don’t have to have your shit together. life is always a mess and trust me when I say this, no one - yes no one - has their shit together and sometimes it’s worth it to lead a messy life and enjoy it without having any fixed rules and regulations like you would have if you wanted that perfect life. enjoy the life you lead and stay wonderful, loves!

Summary: You have a perfect life. A perfect little house, perfect little son who just went to Kindergarten for the first time and finally your more than perfect husband, whom you love more than your life. Of course that was three weeks ago. Before your husband decided to leave the family.

You wake up on a Sunday morning with a sigh. Now you perfectly understand the meaning of that one saying. As if you’re a schoolgirl and it’s finally the last day of your holidays. But in your case you haven’t missed what’s to come even for a bit.

But this time, you decide not to sulk and make the most of the day which will probably be the last one you’ll ever spend with your complete family. Negative thoughts try to find their way into your mind but this time you do your best to keep them out and just enjoy last Sunday you’ll spend happily.

You won’t ruin it.


You quickly get out of the bed. this time you don’t wake up next to your almost ex-husband which is quite a disappointment, but then you sneak a look inside Tae’s room and see him hugged by his father in sleep. And it’s quite enough for you. You can share Jongin with your son even if you’re very selfish.

You don’t lose time swooning over the perfect picture and step inside the bathroom to get ready for the day. After washing up and putting on a comfortable sundress, you head to the kitchen. You plan to make this day perfect for everyone and in your family’s case that means food.

Although you like the thought of healthy diet, the thought of Jongin and Tae’s happiness when they see fried chicken for breakfast is enough persuasion you need.

Time goes quickly while you do everything to make sure that the “breakfast” table is flawless. And just when you’re about to put the last plate on it, you hear footsteps and soon both of your favorite boys step inside the kitchen. You don’t know who’s more excited when seeing what they’re about to eat.

“You’re just in time for breakfast.” You say with a big smile, even though it’s already half past two in the afternoon, it’s normal with Jongin and Tae who goes after his father in everything.

“The smell woke us up.” Jongin can’t take his eyes off the table. “This smells so good, how could we have slept more.” He laughs and sits next to Tae. They’ve both already started devouring the food.

“Wow this is really good.” Jongin comments. “I haven’t tasted anything better for a while, where did you order this?” he asks while handing Tae the neck of chicken. “Start with this.” He adds.

“I made this actually.” You say quietly. Jongin stops and widens his eyes while chewing slowly. “Mommy is the best cook ever, isn’t she?” Tae says with a full mouth. You laugh and wipe his lips.

“Yeah, she is.” Jongin says quietly and you feel your cheeks redden. It’s like you’re returned to high school phase, or just the start of your friendship with Jongin. Not as if you’ve spend years next to him.

Almost an hour passes when the three of you are finally finished with the food. Tae tries to keep up with his dad whose tummy seems to have a hole and is never satisfied. But when the plates are finally empty Jongin suggests watching television so the three of you move to the living room and get comfortable on the couch.

And that’s how the last day (as you hate to call it) is spent. Nothing is special but amazing at the same time. The only time either of you move is to get to the bathroom or get the next fill of snacks. You’re watching cartoons and the Disney movies even Jongin enjoys singing along to.

When the sun is set, Tae runs to his room to get his favorite blanket and returns jumping in his father’s lap. He covers both of them with it and grabs your arm to bring you closer. You’re hesitant at first – you don’t want to make Jongin uncomfortable, but then you see them all cuddly and warm and there’s nothing that can hold you back from joining.

You move closer slowly also getting under the blanket but keeping some distance from your husband but you’re surprised, that when your neck is getting too uncomfortable for it to be laying naturally, Jongin is the one to pull his arm around you and let it rest against his shoulder, right in the position where you can also reach to kiss Tae’s head. You didn’t expect it. Definitely didn’t but for the first time in a month you feel that you’re warm again and you hadn’t even realized how frozen your body had become, deprived of his warmth.

There’s something different about him. Always has been. Just like no heating system can warm you up as well as a walk under the sun can, Jongin’s arms are the same. He’s your personal sun, your only natural way to life.

You can’t even imagine how much you crave for it.

After a while you realize that Tae has fallen asleep on his father’s chest. But you can’t blame him. Jongin is just so warm and so comfortable all you want to do is to finally get the good night’s sleep peacefully for once. But the other part forces you to stay awake to remember every single second of the time you finally felt so, so happy.

In that moment you clearly realize one thing.

He’s here. With a woman who will soon become his ex-wife. And there’s one logical question jumping in your mind.

“Jongin?” you call out, quietly enough not to wake up your son.

“Yes?” he answers, so softly that you never want that sound to leave your ears.

“How does she feel about you being here?” you drop the question, you’re truly curious about. But nothing could surprise you more than what Jongin says next.

“Who?” he asks.

You don’t know if you’re imagining it, or that you’re already stepped into your nightly dream, but you think his fingers are slowly caressing your arm. He truly seems to not recognize who you’re talking about.

“Fei.” You answer with a single word. That name won’t ever leave your memory.

You look up at Jongin secretly and see momentary confusion dwell in his eyes.

“Oh, her.” He adds and stays quiet for a moment. “Well I don’t think she likes that I’m here. She told me not to come.” He says quietly.

Of course she doesn’t. As negatively as you might be inclined towards that girl you understand that she wouldn’t want Jongin to stay over here. But you can’t sympathize when she’s the one going after a still-to-be-divorced man.

Soon after another thought occupies your mind. You know it’s childish to compare how Jongin treats Fei to how he treated you, but she told him not to come and here he is, in your living room. Not once would Jongin ever make you uncomfortable with his decisions when he lived with you. In the good old times he wouldn’t have left you alone like he did with Fei.

You’re absolutely sure of that and that thought makes you even warmer inside. Curling deeper into Jongin’s chest you have no negative thoughts raiding your mind.

 


On a Monday morning Jongin wakes up just on time without the need of an alarm clock. Slowly dressing in his formal attire he proceeds to the bathroom and kisses the head of his son who’s diligently brushing his teeth. Next he walks inside the kitchen and sees her.

She turns around to look at him and doesn’t even try to form a smile. Jongin can see how the light that was so bright inside her eyes yesterday is now completely gone. Breakfast goes in a quiet matter, so unusual to this happy household. Jongin offers to take Tae to Kindergarten and soon sees his son jumping inside his backseat. Moving like a robot she walks over and fixes his tie, he doesn’t even notice it was crooked. Well she was always better at handling it anyway.

Turning around she slides a sheet of paper in front of him, Jongin looks closely and sees lots of too professional words he hates so much.

“I signed it.” she says quietly. “Like I promised. You’re free.” That’s it. just a little doodle of Jongin’s signature is needed and everything will be over. Isn’t it what he wanted? Without a word he slides the papers inside his laptop bag and walk to the door.

Similar to the times before she walks him to the door and just like it used to be usual, he kisses her forehead and says “Bye”. But this time it doesn’t feel like usual at all.  



The day goes as usual for you. Just like it’s been this past month. You go to work, use your lunch period to pick up Tae and chew on a small bun to get you through the day. You make sure Tae doesn’t mess around and does his homework, then you take his hand and go back to the journey back home. You unlock the house, take off your coat, wash Tae’s hands and heat up the dinner you cooked the previous day. As if everything is the same but at the same time nothing is.

Even if usually you always manage to put a smile on your face just for the sake of your son, today you can’t. Today you can’t force yourself anything. You don’t have enough energy. And you know Tae feels it. Not just your feelings but you can see the same mood from him. Your son hasn’t smiled all day and you hate it. You hate it more than anything.

You know what changed. The hope is gone. Even if you spent the month alone you hoped, you wished Jongin would wake up and just come back, for you the bright future of your family wasn’t torn. You still hoped, deep down in your heart. Now you know it’s over. You lost. You lost him.

You finally manage to set the table managing not to break down seeing the number of plates. You will stay strong for your child. He deserves to have you properly functioning. Tae comes from his room slowly and sits down by your low table.

“Eat well, Tae.” You smile warmly and reach to kiss his head. He smiles too. And how can a five year old’s smile even be so full of sadness.

You’re just about to eat when you hear the lock of your front door open. You don’t know what to think. Your motherly instincts are reaching for Tae in case of a burglary. Why would a burglar step inside your house so calmly, it’s irrational you know, but you can’t give yourself any false hope that maybe what you think is happening, is actually happening.

You’re only looking at Tae, afraid to look straight at the entrance and you see your son’s face change. From curiosity to confusion and finally a shy and timid smile forms on his face.

“Daddy.” He calls.

You finally look forward.

“Started dinner without me?”

Jongin is standing with his suitcase, dressed warmly in a winter coat, his shoes are already neatly arranged in their proper place. There’s a small pout on is face for emphasis.

He looks godly.

He looks like home.

Tae looks lost, but you’re sure you’re even more confused. But your son fixes himself in a second and runs to hug his dad, like he would every day. Your son can control himself very well, but you’re sure Jongin can also see just how happy he is to see his dad, home.

You don’t let down your guard yet.

You stay frozen at your seat.

“Ahh, today was such a tiring day at work, I can’t even stand on my feet.” Jongin yawns and takes off his coat. “I’ll go wash my hands. Y/N can you please check my bag? There’s so much trash in there from work, could to throw it out? Or I’ll forget and it’ll stay there for days…” he continues talking down the hallway, his voice slowly disappearing.

I have to add a plate you think, but first, you walk over and pick up Jongin’s suitcase, opening the zip. You see paper, torn to little pieces. Torn so fiercely you wouldn’t have recognized it hadn’t you put it here in the morning. 

It’s the divorce papers.

And even though they’re destroyed, you can clearly see, there’s not a trace of Jongin’s signature.

How To Beat Procrastination When Procrastination Is A Part of You (By A World Class Procrastinator)

We’ve all seen those posts that give you advice to help you stop procrastinating, and they’re pretty good advice, unless procrastinating is inherent to who you are, like it is to me (for real, I’ve studied for my finals the day before the actual finals, so I know what I’m talking about).

So here are a few tips to beat procrastination’s ass and be a productive person, even if it’s not like you see on Tumblr.

First of, if you’re reading this post because you’re procrastinating, read the post and then close Tumblr, and acknowledge your effort. Just be proud of you for closing the app and making a first step towards productivity. You got this!

Next advice is not gonna help you stop procrastinating, but help you be more productive. Try to set your alarm clock earlier than you usually do, especially in the weekend, and wake up at 7 instead of 9 for instance. It’s a little bit hard at first, but once you’re out of bed, chances are you’ll feel energetic and ready to kick some ass. But that isn’t the best part. Because imagine you wake up at 9, and want to start studying at 10, but end up procrastinating for 2 hours. At noon, you won’t have gotten anything done, and you’ll probably go have lunch, and then take a nap, so you’ll end up starting working at like 3, 4, or 5. But if you wake up at 7 and want to start studying at 8, but end up procrastinating 2 hours, it’ll only be 10! So you procrastinated the same way you would have while waking up at 9, but you gain like 5, 6, or 7 hours of potential study time and productivity!

Another advice that I find useful in my quest to beat procrastination is really setting myself to understand what I’m studying, and imagining studying and learning as some sort of power, which it is, really! I try to think of inspiring people, tell myself “they did it, and so can I”, and try to make myself proud.

Break tasks into really small tasks! I know it’s a common advice, but we’re gonna take it to the extreme. If for instance you have to do a math exercise, break it down into small tasks such as “answer question 1”, “answer question 2”, etc., instead of setting the task “do math exercise”. It will be so much more rewarding for you and will help you stay in the loop of productivity!

Take breaks quite often, especially if you have trouble focusing on a single thing for too long. I personally use the Podomoro (Pomodoro? I’m not sure and I’m too lazy to check it out lol but you know what I mean) technique, and it works wonders with me! I use the app Flat Tomato, which allows you to set your own times, and tells you how good you did compared to other people the day before (rewarding process!), and I definitely recommend it. On your breaks, drink a little bit of water, and do what you like to do, whether it’s surfing the net or doodling or whatever, so you keep the reward system going!

What I find to be quite efficient as well is to have a visual representation of your long-term goal is, your motivation to study this shit you’re probably not interested in. Like if you have a dream job, write it down and keep it in sight, so you’re always reminded that you’re not working for nothing, that the effort you put in the work and the effort you make to not procrastinate are worth it.

Be realistic when writing down your to-do list. We usually tend to write a lot of stuff done, thinking we can do it because we’re really motivated this time and we will get shit done, but we usually don’t, and when we see how much stuff we didn’t do, we most likely feel crappy and end up guilt watching Netflix (I think we can all relate to that, at least I know I do), which definitely isn’t productive.

Don’t work too much. I know this advice sounds bad, but us procrastinators aren’t used to working over a long period of time, we’re rather used to working an awful lot over a very short period of time. So at first, you’ll want to work a lot over a long period of time, and your brain and body will just be like “what the fuck dude” and will potentially shut down, and everything you’ll try to learn won’t stick in your memory, and your attention will drastically decrease, giving you a lot of stress and making you feel terrible about yourself. Therefore, as you start kicking procrastination’s ass, be kind to yourself, and learn to know when you’ve reached your limit for the day. Then maybe take a 20-minute nap, and if you feel better and need to study, go back to studying. But if you feel too tired or overwhelmed to keep on studying, don’t beat yourself up, acknowledge everything you got done so far, and take a moment to say “go me! I did great today!”, even if you didn’t do everything that was in your to-do list, which was probably too long anyways.

So yeah, these are my tips to help you become a more productive person. It won’t happen over the night, no matter how many times you promise yourself you’ll be productive tomorrow, but slowly, you’ll start to get more work done and feel super good about yourself, even if there are times where you might feel overwhelmed. In these times, take a deep breath, remind yourself of you got done so far, and remember that it is only humane to procrastinate and that it isn’t a fatality (if it were, a lot of people on this planet wouldn’t have a job, trust me).

I have a horrible sleep pattern (I always go to bed past 1 am and I feel dead every weekday) and idk how to stop it. I'm usually up doing homework, but on weekends I just cat sleep and end up on my phone. Basically my time management sucks. How do I fix these problems??

Hellooo! Ahh, this has been me after the holidays. For your homework, try setting time limits. It probably isn’t ideal for you anyway to be doing homework right up until bed. It’s best to have time to relax before you sleep. When I was in high school and the demand to have finished tasks daily was a lot higher, I would get up early rather than staying up late. I would finish at an easy point I could go back to and then get up at maybe 5 or 5:30am. I personally preferred to sleep earlier and wake up earlier than sleep super late. I felt I wasn’t as tired in the mornings. With your phone, perhaps trying to turn it off or leave it away from your bed. Check it for 10 minutes or something before you go to sleep but limit your time. In reality, the more you use it before you sleep the more awake you are. 

When I was writing for The Academic Zine, I did an article about sleep hygiene and some tip on getting yours on track. I’ll copy and paste it below so you can have a read! 

1. Plan your ideal sleep routine. The first step to improving your sleep hygiene is to make a plan. While a few early nights can get you started, fixing your sleep hygiene will not be instantaneous. If your internal body clock is out-of-sync such that you only feel tired at midnight, getting sleep is bound to be a tough process. We suggest making small and manageable goals.

Start by setting a goal, such as getting ready for bed half an hour earlier or reading a book instead of checking your Tumblr. Make adjusting your sleep pattern more enticing by tracking and monitoring it. Downloadable phone applications help gamify your attempts to improve your sleep patterns, giving you more motivation. They offer information including your movements during the night, how your day affected your sleep, and the progress you’ve made. If you don’t want to use your phone while you sleep, make a habit tracker. We all know the pleasure of crossing off another day of the month that you managed to stick to a new habit.

2. Turn your room into a sleep sanctuary. In order to sleep comfortably, it is important to make your bedroom a calming environment.  Avoid studying in your bedroom or at least on the bed. Constantly using the bed for studying will weaken your brain’s association between being in bed and sleeping and instead associate it with working. Make the effort to use a desk or another room for studying so when your eyelids are drooping, you can go to your room, remove yourself from any stresses you’ve had, and take time to relax and recharge.

Get your sanctuary started by adjusting the light, temperature, and noise level. Use curtains or black-out blinds to make the room completely dark. If there is unavoidable light, you can try using a sleep mask. As the seasons change, it is natural to kick off the sheets or wrap up extra snuggly. However, if waking up because of temperature is a regular occurrence, take that as a sign to make a change. Try adding or removing a blanket, change your type of pajamas, and/or place a heater in the room on a low heat setting.

3. Prepare for the next day. As a student, I know how it feels to be tossing and turning because you’re worried about the next day. The easiest way to calm a racing mind is by preparing for the day ahead before going to bed. Small ways to prepare include organizing your bag, charging your phone, laptop, or tablet, and updating your planner or bullet journal. 

4. Take time to relax before bed. After a stressful day or long study session, getting into a relaxed and calm mood is the best way to prepare your mind for sleeping. Taking the time to destress can help to reduce the feeling of anxiety by detaching your mind from the events of the day. You can try reading, journaling, drawing, doing yoga, or taking a warm shower. Make it a habit to put a relaxing activity at the end of your to-do list so you can finish the day on a positive note. Finding an activity that helps focus your attention, calm your mind, and that you enjoy can be perfect for a bedtime routine.

5. Things to avoid. Right before your head hits the pillow, it is best to avoid things like using your computer or phone for extended periods of time and consuming any substances like caffeine or alcohol. While it is always tempting to watch just one more episode of your favorite show before going to bed, the screen can make you feel more awake. The time gap between exposure to light and your bedtime impacts the melatonin in your body, which is the chemical that signals drowsiness and makes you feel tired.

6. Exercise during the day. Exercise is not only good for your mental and physical health but also your sleep quality. Studies have shown that people who exercise the recommended amount per week had significantly higher quality of sleep, felt more energized during the day, and had improved concentration when they did feel tired. Make the effort to have at least 150 minutes of exercise during the week. Try taking a walk, going to the gym, or joining an exercise class. It is best to finish any strenuous physical activity a few hours prior to going to bed. If you exercise before sleeping, any energy you didn’t direct towards the workout will keep you feeling alert rather than sleepy. Light activity such as yoga or mediation is recommended as a late night workout.

7. The art of napping. Napping was one of the best parts of childhood, right? Now it seems when you accidentally fall asleep you feel worse than you did before. That’s because you’re either not napping for long enough or waking up during the deepest part of the sleeping cycle. How much is the right amount?

  • 1- 5 minutes (micro naps): great for having a small boost of energy and stopping that sleepy feeling.
  • 10-20 minutes (power naps): enhances alertness and concentration, elevates mood, and sharpens motor skills. Coffee takes 20 to 30 minute to take effect so if you want to boost alertness, have a cup before napping.
  • 45 minutes: helps to boost energy, creative thinking and boosts sensory processing.  Try setting an alarm to avoid the feeling of sleep inertia, grogginess, and disorientation which comes with the next phase of sleep.
  • 90 minutes: clear your mind, improve memory recall, and recoup lost sleep. By waking up after 90 minutes you’ll avoid the feeling of sleep inertia as you wake up from REM sleep.

8. Hack your sleep. Technology can make your sleep pattern more enticing by tracking your progress. Numerous apps available from the App Store or Play Store offer ways to see how your body responds through each phase of the sleep cycle. Try Sleep Cycle, Sleep Genius, or SleepBot. If you own a FitBit, try wearing it to bed. The app can set sleep goals, set an alarm, and track your sleep quality. Sleep calculators are also available (e.g. http://sleepyti.me) and allow you to nap without worrying about feeling groggy afterwards.

9. Avoid making a habit of all nighters. It is best to limit the number of times you are staying up all night even if it seems the only way to meet a deadline. Try using different time management methods – such as the Pomodoro technique – to avoid staying up all night. Making a habit of all night working sessions can, over time, decrease your concentration and result in poorer long term memory. If sacrificing sleep is the only way to meet a deadline, it is best to do it right. Try these tips:

  • top up your energy – take a nap, stretch a little, or drink a coffee.
  • eat protein – when you’re working hard, your body needs something to burn. Despite the tastiness of carbs, they store energy for later and can make you sleepier in the long term. Try including meat in your evening meal, or snacking on nuts and seeds.
  • move around – make an effort to take a break every now and then. Get up, stretch, move around, and reinvigorate yourself with energy.
  • music – keep yourself alert with some tunes. Instrumental songs or movie soundtracks often promote productivity and focus. If you’re feeling sleepy, put on your favorite song and have a silent sing along to get you back in the mood!
  • remove all distractions – if you’re texting a friend, watching a TV show, or checking your Facebook whilst attempting to finish a task, you’re wasting time. Having 20 minutes of concentration, followed by a 5-minute break, will be more effective than pausing every few minutes to reply to a message. If you use the Pomodoro technique, you can utilize your breaks to do this.
  • focus on one thing at a time – keep your concentration there until it’s done or it’s time to take a break. Multitasking when it is late will reduce your attentiveness to one task and could therefore reduce the quality of your work.
  • work at a desk – as aforementioned, avoid making a habit of using your bed for work. All-nighters are probably most comfortable in bed but after continuous use you’ll feel instantly more sleepy and unproductive as your brain is associating your bed with sleeping and relaxing. If you have a desk you can use during a late night work session, be sure to use it.
  • reward yourself the next day – after pulling an all nighter you need to recentralize your internal body clock. If you’re feeling tired, make an effort to go to sleep slightly earlier. Try taking a few hours to relax and do something you enjoy.

10. Stop mourning your mornings. Not everyone is a morning person, especially if you’re waking up super early. Setting a motivational routine can improve your morning mood. Set an alarm that doesn’t interrupt your sleep cycle. Sleep Cycle, as mentioned previously, wakes you up when your body is most alert which means the feeling of sleep inertia is reduced. When you get up, take two minutes to stretch. Allowing your body to stretch out after a long night sleep helps to rejuvenate our ligaments and release any tension in our joints. Washing your face with cold water or taking a shower help to make you fresh awake and fresh. Whether you eat straight away or get ready, make an effort to maintain your routine.

Why didn’t B.A.P win any shows for Wake Me Up?

my thoughts on a question nobody asked me but have them anyway lmao

fans:

  • not enough people streaming on melon. literally this is the main one
  • maybe could stream a bit more on youtube?
  • needed more people voting live and for pre-votes
  • I can’t think of any more hmm did I mention melon streaming??

TS:

  • very rushed promotions to squeeze it in before the tour: only 2-3 weeks instead of the usual 4 (and usually groups don’t/can’t win in the first week of promotions anyway, so that only left around one week of being on shows in which we had a chance of winning)
  • I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s TS’s fault, but generally, fewer people tend to buy physical single albums than full or mini albums because they’re essentially paying the same price for less (eg rose was the first time I bought a B.A.P single album), but actually rose is so far their second highest-selling single album, which is pretty impressive 

things out of our control:

  • tough competition: comeback at the same time as other groups with better melon streaming / larger korean fanbases
  • music bank and music core being cancelled during the first week of promotions. mucore doesn’t have a winner anymore, but mubank was arguably our best chance at winning after the show, and because the first ep was cancelled, that was shown during the second week (whereas if that ep was a new one from the 2nd week then we could have possibly had a chance of winning), and then that was it, promotions over…
  • changes to how winners are chosen on the show: no more tudou streaming and I think no more laifeng votes? still not exactly sure what they are, but before we could collect our strength and buy them points on the show (as dumb as it sounds) and spend ages doing extra streaming on a website that kept crashing and deleting views, but now the show cares more about melon streaming too (like the other music shows) (do u see how important digital streaming is)

but don’t let that make you sad! from what I’ve personally seen, the general reaction (both fans and not) to wake me up / rose has been more hyped and impressed than it has probably since matrix. B.A.P have said they have more comebacks scheduled for this year, so hopefully we’ll be able to get them what they deserve next time.

PS: people sometimes compare B.A.P’s youtube views to other groups, where we usually don’t do as well. then there’s the usual topic of some fans leaving and moving to other groups during the hiatus etc etc etc……. well actually, our youtube views aren’t really that different from pre-hiatus? I remember when 1004 (their main breakthrough and at the height of their career back then) was released on the 3rd of february, jongup’s wish was for the mv to reach 1 million views by his birthday on the 6th - 3 days later and it still didn’t reach 1 million. on the other hand, wake me up reached 2.25 million views in around 5 and a half days. with the explosion of kpop in the last couple of years, some groups enjoy immense success on a whole new scale. our achievements only seem inferior if we compare them to others - let’s focus on ourselves and see how far both B.A.P and we as fans have come, and think about how we can continue to go forward!

PPS: nice things I’ve noticed recently (last few months since noir/skydive): 

  • more content creators in the fandom making things: more gifsets, graphics, fics etc
  • said content getting more recognition
  • a sense of humour! crack blogs, more people making funny videos and text posts and funny edits
  • honestly I keep finding new B.A.P blogs to follow - more people joining the fandom or existing fans choosing to take more part in the fandom on tumblr!
  • fans on tumblr interacting more with each other! through networks or just starting to talk to each other on here :D
  • B.A.P trended on tumblr for yongguk and himchan’s birthdays!
  • himchan and youngjae gaining more recognition in general these days
  • keep it up guys I love you all

Liam’s not sure how long he’d been there. He thinks maybe just a couple of minutes but it was probably longer than that. He must be in creeper territory by now considering this should have only taken a minute at the most but he couldn’t help himself. He was caught completely off guard by the surge of emotions that took over his body and mind the minute he laid eyes on Zayn.

At first he couldn’t understand why. He’d done this a hundred times before. It was deemed his job ever since they all discovered that Liam was the only one able to rouse Zayn from his precious slumber without having their heads bitten off. Secretly, Liam loved it. He loved knowing that this was another thing that made his relationship with Zayn special, that he was the only one able to coax a smile and a laugh from a sleepy Zayn despite his well known love affair with sleep.

Liam approached him slowly and quietly until he stood over his best friend’s sleeping form and just admired him for a moment. It was amazing, really, how beautiful Zayn was. He’s always known this of course, but he looked different when he slept. There was an innocence about him that only manifested itself when he was asleep. He loved watching him like this, looking so vulnerable and peaceful. It dawned on Liam that he was one of the few people that had the privilege of seeing Zayn in this state. Gratitude joined the heady mix of emotions already wreaking havoc inside him.

He leaned over and placed his palm on Zayn’s cheek. His skin was warm to the touch and Liam gently rubbed his thumb across the soft skin. He stroked his cheek and allowed his eyes to roam over Zayn’s face taking in its perfect symmetry, the flawless skin, those insanely long eyelashes, the fullness of his bottom lip.

His mind started conjuring up memories from their time together. His favorites were of the two of them alone, either on the bus or in a hotel room somewhere, talking about anything and everything, snuggling together, watching movies, playing video games and arguing over who was the better player. They’ve cried on each other’s shoulders more times than they care to admit and have found strength in their bond. Liam wondered if Zayn knew what an important part of his life he had become. 

His fingers glided across Zayn’s lips lightly, not wanting to wake him just yet. He fought the overwhelming desire to lean down and kiss him. He wanted to kiss those pink lips until Zayn woke up and kissed him back.

He suddenly realized that this wasn’t the first time he felt that urge.

Liam clenched his eyes shut tight and sighed as it finally sunk in. He knew now. He finally understood why today felt different. He opened his eyes again and allowed his hand to skate down Zayn’s arm studying the numerous tattoos adorning it while he came to terms with the realization.

He couldn’t deny it any longer. Today was the day he admitted to himself what he’d known all along: He was in love with Zayn.

He loved Zayn in a way that was different from the way he loved the other boys or the way he loved his family and friends. Liam had Zayn’s friendship already but he wanted so much more. He wanted his heart, his respect, his admiration, his time and yes, his body. He wanted to hold his hand whenever he wanted, share a home with him and celebrate anniversaries and all that sappy stuff. He wanted to come first for Zayn the way Zayn came first in all things for Liam. 

He wanted everything with Zayn. 

Liam’s eyes traveled back up towards his face and he froze. Zayn was awake and was looking right at him. Liam pulled his hand away instantly, dropping the water bottle he held in his other hand in his haste. He felt his face burn with embarrassment after being caught red-handed. He probably had a dopey smile on his face the entire time he had been daydreaming about happily ever afters with Zayn. He was mortified.

“I uh - sorry, um,” Liam stammered, completely tongue-tied and unable to come up with a good excuse for his behavior. He considered just running out of the room without any explanation and took a step back, about to do just that.

Zayn’s hand reached out and grabbed Liam’s before he could make his escape.

“It’s okay, Li,” Zayn said to him, no anger or judgment visible in his face. Just that same fond smile that Liam had seen time and time again. Zayn tugged his arm down forcing Liam to sink to his knees beside him. Zayn reached his other hand up and cupped the back of Liam’s neck in that all-too familiar way and pulled him closer.

Liam’s breath hitched when Zayn brought their foreheads together. Liam’s heart felt like it was going to burst through his chest it was beating so fast.

“I love you, too” Zayn whispered softly, his eyes shining and full of hope. Liam exhaled and smiled, his body sagging with relief after hearing Zayn’s confession.

“Uh, are you - really?” Liam asked. He needed to make sure he wasn’t still dreaming all of this.

Zayn didn’t answer but his smile grew bigger as he pulled Liam in the rest of the way and proceeded to kiss him. He kissed him long, slow and deep. It was better than anything Liam had imagined.

Sorry, I need to talk about Himchan and all this situation


Himchan fractured two ribs, apparently because of the exhaustion due to overwork because of comeback with Rose and he was in the position of leader while Yongguk was in treatment in the last months and because of unbridled weight loss because of the damn bastards that keep calling him fat and pig in his instagram. He tried to continue activities with the B.A.P, but he went away to “rest”.

Okay, okay, he really needs some time after all, he was so overwhelmed…

BUT THEY (WHO? TS?) DO WHAT?

They edited Himchan’s lines in Wake me up (with “edited” I mean THEY REMOVED HIMCHAN’S VOICE) and Jongup re-recorded his lines… Now they are performing with edited song.

As if Himchan weren’t part of the song anymore.

As if Himchan didn’t exist.

As if Himchan wasn’t an important part of BAP.

As if his hiatus didn’t harm the group at all.

How can they do that? After he spent months carrying all the responsibility of BAP on his back, dealing with the position of leader, doing his best in the performances of Skydive (where he had to present his lines and Bang’s lines), and above it all, he had to deal with the pressure of seeing a friend (who he may consider a brother) in such a horrible situation as panic disorder and anxiety disorder…

This is disrespect.

Now I know that it’s not those just ridiculous “”“fans”“” (not all of them, but unfortunately so many) who disparage Himchan…

Tips for studying (with depression/anxiety), Pt. 2

First of all, my post got a huge response, so thank you!  Over the past couple of days, I’ve been thinking more about the things that I do and that help me when studying and I decided to make a part two of all the things I forgot.  So here it is, part two.

1. Get up when your alarm goes off.  You set your alarm at that time for a reason.  I fall into this trap all the time where I wake up and spend time in bed on my phone and then lose all motivation to wake up.  If you wake up before your alarm goes off, great!  Get up when you naturally wake up or when your alarm goes off, either way, don’t lounge around in bed.

2. Get dressed and get ready.  Even if you have nothing to do.  I’m gonna say something that normally doesn’t get said: sometimes those of us with depression forget to brush our hair, our teeth, or shower.  So just force yourself to do it.  Don’t go three days without brushing your teeth.  Don’t let your hair get greasy and tangled.  Take care of yourself.

3.  Go somewhere that’s not your house/dorm room/apartment.  It’s hard to have motivation when you’re at home with netflix and your novels all day.  So if you have nothing to do that day, get up, get dressed, do your makeup if you like to, and go somewhere else.  I love to go to Barnes and Noble to study.  Go to the library, go to Starbucks, make the trip to campus.  Just get out of your house.

4.  Keep your room clean.  After a long day of studying, you don’t want to come home to a room filled with trash.  I am so, so guilty of this.  I am so unmotivated to stay organized, but it’s pretty important.  Being more organized will give you more motivation and help you study.  It will also help when you sleep late and you don’t have to dig through piles of clothes on your floor.

5. Take a break.  It gets overwhelming to study so much, so go on tumblr for fifteen minutes, bullet journal for a little while, color, organize your school supplies, do some yoga.  And then get back to work.

6. Figure out when the best time is for you to go to class.  For instance, I know that I cannot get up and go to a class before 10 am.  I just won’t do it.  I’d miss too many classes.  I prefer to take afternoon and night classes.  Some other people like to start their days earlier.  Figure out what works for you and do it.

7.  Don’t be afraid to change your schedule.  If you attend syllabus week and you just think you can’t handle your courses, then you don’t have to.  I literally change my schedule almost every semester, so go for it.  You have to do what’s best for you.

8.  Know your priorities.  I have to juggle both work and school, which can be difficult when I’m extremely depressed.  But I know that school always comes before work and I come before both.

9. Reward yourself.  Had a bad day?  Got a good grade?  Either way, good or bad, treat yourself.

10.  Don’t compare yourself to others.  If I compared my progress to my high school friends, I probably wouldn’t get out of bed.  But I don’t.  Don’t feel bad about deleting people from facebook, either.  Sometimes it’s hard to focus when your high school friends are getting married or whatever.  Focus on yourself and your goals.

Genre & Warnings: Not gonna lie, this chapter is pretty much just smut, even though I still don’t think I’m that good at writing it. And there’s some fluff. Next chapter is a ticket to angstville, so enjoy.

Note: I am pretty convinced that sex with Hobi would be loud as hell, and I love it. So I wrote a lot about that. Sorry, not sorry. 

You made your way up the steps to your apartment, Hobi so close behind that you could feel his breath on the back of your neck. You couldn’t recall ever being this nervous to bring a guy home before. You didn’t know if it was just because he was an idol, or if it was because he was Jung Hoseok.

 Either way, you could feel yourself getting more and more anxious the closer you got to your place. As you reached the door, your hand shook a little as you tried to put your keys in the lock, and you ended up dropping them a couple times before you were finally successful. You swing open the door and drop to the floor to greet your Pomeranian, Momo. You can hear Hobi close and lock the door behind you, and you bury your nose into Momo’s fur, trying to calm your racing heart. Hobi drops down next to you and pats Momo’s head, and you both share a nervous grin.

Hey Emma! Not sure if this is study related but I'm in uni and have a really tough time getting to bed early - I find all ways to procrastinate going to bed until its 2 or 3 am and its ruining my life and ability to study! Any advice?

Hellooo! This is me too haha! I’m obsessed with the Most Popular Girls in School on YouTube and I end up watching episode after episode :’-)

When I was writing for The Academic Zine, I did an article about sleep hygiene and some tip on getting yours on track. I’ll copy and paste it below so you can have a read!

1. Plan your ideal sleep routine. The first step to improving your sleep hygiene is to make a plan. While a few early nights can get you started, fixing your sleep hygiene will not be instantaneous. If your internal body clock is out-of-sync such that you only feel tired at midnight, getting sleep is bound to be a tough process. We suggest making small and manageable goals.

Start by setting a goal, such as getting ready for bed half an hour earlier or reading a book instead of checking your Tumblr. Make adjusting your sleep pattern more enticing by tracking and monitoring it. Downloadable phone applications help gamify your attempts to improve your sleep patterns, giving you more motivation. They offer information including your movements during the night, how your day affected your sleep, and the progress you’ve made. If you don’t want to use your phone while you sleep, make a habit tracker. We all know the pleasure of crossing off another day of the month that you managed to stick to a new habit.

2. Turn your room into a sleep sanctuary. In order to sleep comfortably, it is important to make your bedroom a calming environment.  Avoid studying in your bedroom or at least on the bed. Constantly using the bed for studying will weaken your brain’s association between being in bed and sleeping and instead associate it with working. Make the effort to use a desk or another room for studying so when your eyelids are drooping, you can go to your room, remove yourself from any stresses you’ve had, and take time to relax and recharge.

Get your sanctuary started by adjusting the light, temperature, and noise level. Use curtains or black-out blinds to make the room completely dark. If there is unavoidable light, you can try using a sleep mask. As the seasons change, it is natural to kick off the sheets or wrap up extra snuggly. However, if waking up because of temperature is a regular occurrence, take that as a sign to make a change. Try adding or removing a blanket, change your type of pajamas, and/or place a heater in the room on a low heat setting.

3. Prepare for the next day. As a student, I know how it feels to be tossing and turning because you’re worried about the next day. The easiest way to calm a racing mind is by preparing for the day ahead before going to bed. Small ways to prepare include organizing your bag, charging your phone, laptop, or tablet, and updating your planner or bullet journal.

4. Take time to relax before bed. After a stressful day or long study session, getting into a relaxed and calm mood is the best way to prepare your mind for sleeping. Taking the time to destress can help to reduce the feeling of anxiety by detaching your mind from the events of the day. You can try reading, journaling, drawing, doing yoga, or taking a warm shower. Make it a habit to put a relaxing activity at the end of your to-do list so you can finish the day on a positive note. Finding an activity that helps focus your attention, calm your mind, and that you enjoy can be perfect for a bedtime routine.

5. Things to avoid. Right before your head hits the pillow, it is best to avoid things like using your computer or phone for extended periods of time and consuming any substances like caffeine or alcohol. While it is always tempting to watch just one more episode of your favorite show before going to bed, the screen can make you feel more awake. The time gap between exposure to light and your bedtime impacts the melatonin in your body, which is the chemical that signals drowsiness and makes you feel tired.

6. Exercise during the day. Exercise is not only good for your mental and physical health but also your sleep quality. Studies have shown that people who exercise the recommended amount per week had significantly higher quality of sleep, felt more energized during the day, and had improved concentration when they did feel tired. Make the effort to have at least 150 minutes of exercise during the week. Try taking a walk, going to the gym, or joining an exercise class. It is best to finish any strenuous physical activity a few hours prior to going to bed. If you exercise before sleeping, any energy you didn’t direct towards the workout will keep you feeling alert rather than sleepy. Light activity such as yoga or mediation is recommended as a late night workout.

7. The art of napping. Napping was one of the best parts of childhood, right? Now it seems when you accidentally fall asleep you feel worse than you did before. That’s because you’re either not napping for long enough or waking up during the deepest part of the sleeping cycle. How much is the right amount?

  • 1- 5 minutes (micro naps): great for having a small boost of energy and stopping that sleepy feeling.
  • 10-20 minutes (power naps): enhances alertness and concentration, elevates mood, and sharpens motor skills. Coffee takes 20 to 30 minute to take effect so if you want to boost alertness, have a cup before napping.
  • 45 minutes: helps to boost energy, creative thinking and boosts sensory processing.  Try setting an alarm to avoid the feeling of sleep inertia, grogginess, and disorientation which comes with the next phase of sleep.
  • 90 minutes: clear your mind, improve memory recall, and recoup lost sleep. By waking up after 90 minutes you’ll avoid the feeling of sleep inertia as you wake up from REM sleep.

8. Hack your sleep. Technology can make your sleep pattern more enticing by tracking your progress. Numerous apps available from the App Store or Play Store offer ways to see how your body responds through each phase of the sleep cycle. Try Sleep Cycle, Sleep Genius, or SleepBot. If you own a FitBit, try wearing it to bed. The app can set sleep goals, set an alarm, and track your sleep quality. Sleep calculators are also available (e.g. http://sleepyti.me) and allow you to nap without worrying about feeling groggy afterwards.

9. Avoid making a habit of all nighters. It is best to limit the number of times you are staying up all night even if it seems the only way to meet a deadline. Try using different time management methods – such as the Pomodoro technique – to avoid staying up all night. Making a habit of all night working sessions can, over time, decrease your concentration and result in poorer long term memory. If sacrificing sleep is the only way to meet a deadline, it is best to do it right. Try these tips:

  • top up your energy – take a nap, stretch a little, or drink a coffee.
  • eat protein – when you’re working hard, your body needs something to burn. Despite the tastiness of carbs, they store energy for later and can make you sleepier in the long term. Try including meat in your evening meal, or snacking on nuts and seeds.
  • move around – make an effort to take a break every now and then. Get up, stretch, move around, and reinvigorate yourself with energy.
  • music – keep yourself alert with some tunes. Instrumental songs or movie soundtracks often promote productivity and focus. If you’re feeling sleepy, put on your favorite song and have a silent sing along to get you back in the mood!
  • remove all distractions – if you’re texting a friend, watching a TV show, or checking your Facebook whilst attempting to finish a task, you’re wasting time. Having 20 minutes of concentration, followed by a 5-minute break, will be more effective than pausing every few minutes to reply to a message. If you use the Pomodoro technique, you can utilize your breaks to do this.
  • focus on one thing at a time – keep your concentration there until it’s done or it’s time to take a break. Multitasking when it is late will reduce your attentiveness to one task and could therefore reduce the quality of your work.
  • work at a desk – as aforementioned, avoid making a habit of using your bed for work. All-nighters are probably most comfortable in bed but after continuous use you’ll feel instantly more sleepy and unproductive as your brain is associating your bed with sleeping and relaxing. If you have a desk you can use during a late night work session, be sure to use it.
  • reward yourself the next day – after pulling an all nighter you need to recentralize your internal body clock. If you’re feeling tired, make an effort to go to sleep slightly earlier. Try taking a few hours to relax and do something you enjoy.

10. Stop mourning your mornings. Not everyone is a morning person, especially if you’re waking up super early. Setting a motivational routine can improve your morning mood. Set an alarm that doesn’t interrupt your sleep cycle. Sleep Cycle, as mentioned previously, wakes you up when your body is most alert which means the feeling of sleep inertia is reduced. When you get up, take two minutes to stretch. Allowing your body to stretch out after a long night sleep helps to rejuvenate our ligaments and release any tension in our joints. Washing your face with cold water or taking a shower help to make you fresh awake and fresh. Whether you eat straight away or get ready, make an effort to maintain your routine.

    • Eunwoo isn’t sure when he agreed to jump into the ocean but Rocky and Jinjin strolled onto the boardwalk topless and shucked off their slippers and jumped into the shallow waters 
    • And proceeded to holler at Eunwoo to join them
    • Bin running after them onto the boardwalk and yelling at them to stop bothering Eunwoo
    • Eunwoo laughing and shucking off his tank top before jumping in too because heck it, it’s been so long since he played in the water and it’s such a hot day he might as well
    • Bin standing there with the three of them hollering at Bin to jump in before deciding also to heck it because if Eunwoo’s in there there’s no point staying on the boardwalk anyway
    • Bin peeling off his shirt 
    • Me still being attacked by Astroad apparently Bin instigated the whole thing
    • Eunwoo regretting all the choices he’s ever made that led up to this instant because holy shit he really wasn’t ready 
    • Eunwoo trying to will down his blush while treading water 
    • Rocky and Jinjin seeing Eunwoo blushing and just cackling 
    • Bin swimming over to them and immediately Rocky and Jinjin swim farther out and leave Binu alone

    • Eunwoo, huffing a laugh: “yeah, and I said I’d be part dolphin”
    • Smol baby Bin laughing and splashing Eunwoo and telling him he’d be part crab instead

    • And Bin, laughing: “yeah I still think you’re part-crab”

    • And Bin just smiles and starts swimming out to Rockjin and yelling, “race you, crab-boy!!” over his shoulder
    • Eunwoo laughing and swimming after him before grabbing Bin from behind to keep him from moving forward
    • Bin turns around to shrug him off and suddenly, they’re close, so close 
    • And Bin can see water droplets on Eunwoo’s eyelashes and Eunwoo’s blinking up at him and smiling and saying something
    • Bin’s breath catching 
    • He doesn’t remember when it was his brain decided to give up being bitter at Eunwoo and revert all Eunwoo-related matters to Bin’s heart
    • But his heart is thumping and there’s nothing more he wants than just to lean over and press a kiss on Eunwoo’s cheek

    • And it’s like everything’s snapped into place - the sounds of the waves beating against the both of them, sunlight flashing off the waves in small diamonds, Eunwoo’s eyelashes as he blinks when Bin pulls away slightly, Eunwoo’s blush riding high on smiling cheeks 
  • Bin parking his motorbike outside Eunwoo’s house 
    • Bin doesn’t know what to do 
    • Because Bin’s never come looking for him before - it’s always Eunwoo sliding into the shop or them meeting on the boardwalk 
    • Bin scratching his head before Eunwoo’s brother pops his head out the window 
    • Eunwoo’s brother: “woAh hiya Bin nice ride”
    • Eunwoo’s brother: “looking for Eunwoo?" 
    • Bin: 
    • Eunwoo’s brother, gently knocking himself on the head: "yeah because who else would you look for lmao come in" 
    • And the moment Bin steps into the house he hears a gentle melody on the piano, something bright and tinkly and light-hearted 
    • And as he slides off his shoes and follows Eunwoo’s brother into the living room the melody stills, then fades into something melancholic, single separate notes aching and lonely and familiar 
    • And Bin stills too, because Eunwoo’s sitting at a small, brown piano, his fingers heavy on ivory keys  and crumpled staff sheets littering the top of the piano 
    • And the tune swells and bursts and Eunwoo’s brother and the whole room fades into the background 
    • And all Bin can see is Eunwoo 
      • Eunwoo, laughing in the moonlight and hand on Bin’s knee 
      • Eunwoo, leaning back on his hands and face tilted towards the sun

    • Bin coughing a little more because in the process of coughing gently he accidentally swallowed the wrong way and is actually choking

    • Bin, recovering his breath: "that sounded really good, what was it?”
    • Eunwoo, shuffling his papers before Bin can see the title: “nah I was just bumming around”
    • Bin, not really believing Eunwoo because there’s no way that melody was just a result of ‘bumming around’ unless Eunwoo’s secretly a musical genius
    • Although now when he thinks about it he wouldn’t be surprised if Eunwoo was indeed one
    • Bin, fishing a small bag of beads out of his back pocket: “came to deliver beads”
    • And suddenly Eunwoo’s brother comes out of the background because yay!!!! new beads!!! and Eunwoo is laughing
    • Eunwoo’s brother prodding around the four beads and picking out his own
    • Eunwoo’s brother, pouting: “wait how come Eunwoo’s has an extra carving on the back”
    • Bin flushing because wow called oUT
    • Eunwoo’s brother running off with the beads to their mum
    • Eunwoo peering at his new deep purple bead: “this isn’t the one my mum chose that day though?”
    • Bin, shaking his head: “I chose it”
    • And Eunwoo can’t help himself, he can’t help the silly dumb grin spreading across his face because for the first time he’ll be wearing something picked for him by Bin again
    • Bin tenderly watching Eunwoo smile, heart doing the flippity-flop-about-to-stop thing
    • Eunwoo, seeing the small “8” etched on the front of his sea glass and flipping the bead around 
    • Bin shaking his thin black cord out from under his shirt
    • And Eunwoo sees a moon etched on the back of his stone and a tide on the back of Bin’s
    • Bin, softly: “you can leave the seaside and go back to the city, but remember, I’ll always be pulled to you.”

She Is Ours Now

So, if you know my tumblr you know the hardcore stark-targaryen I am (even if I do have much love for other houses too), but I’ve been stuck on some fanart/fanfics on my beloved Starks lately and I had this on my mind lately, I even had sent this to my friend the other day, so I just had to write it. I hope y’all like it. 

Arya and Jon have such a beautiful, pure brother and sister love, I cannot wait to see them meeting again in season 8, or in the coming books (maybe it’ll be different?), so I wrote this to ease my withdraw lol 


Jon and Arya talk about life, remembering the past, appreciating the present and longing for a better future. 

“You love her, don’t you?” Arya looked at Jon, lovingly. He would not tore his eyes away from Daenerys sleeping figure, all he wanted for her to open her beautiful eyes so he could breathe again.

“Wow. You do.” Arya was mesmerized. She never imagined Jon to fall deeply in love with anyone, she always pictured him as a Ranger, a man of the Night’s Watch. Nonetheless, this was so much better, for if anyone deserved happiness, it was him.

“I do, Arya. It took me all this time to find her, I can not lose her.” He looked at his sister, and she hugged him. What a sight, the tough Stark brothers hugging. The King in the North and the fierce assassin, nothing more than loving siblings.

“You won’t. She is the Mother of Dragons, she will wake up, Jon.” Arya let him go, and held his hand.

“Robb would have loved her. He would tease you so much.” She could not help but feel the warmth in her own eyes, the memory of her fallen brother.
