the best one of this season (until now)

On the Coastal Tip of Jamaica, actress Candice Patton stands barefoot in a sheer yellow dress before settling turquoise waters. Her arms sway back and forth as the Caribbean air billows through the thigh-high slit. She gives the camera a small smile as the sun radiates off her skin and the tide tiptoes towards the shore. The Instagram boomerang I’m glancing at has now been viewed over 200,000 times by her 1.2 million-user following.

It’s mid-June; a median between two milestones in Candice’s life - two weeks before her 29th birthday, and two weeks after the Season 3 finale of The Flash aired in homes nationwide. The superhero fiction show, based on the DC Comics character of the same name, stars Candice as Iris West, opposite Grant Gustin as the titular hero, Barry Allen. In the last three years, The Flash has garnered over 15 awards, with Candice herself most recently winning a Saturn Award for “Best Supporting Actress on Television”. It makes sense that CBS Watch! Magazine would send her over to the Caribbean for a photoshoot.

The CW star calls me from her residence in Los Angeles on a Friday afternoon, after her trip in Jamaica. I expect her to sound exhausted from her jet setting, but she’s not. To my astoundment, there’s a lot on her mind. I come to realize that, unlike Iris West, Candice Patton is equipped with a power of her own.

The amazing “YOI Fan Rec Friday” banner was created by @omgkatsudonplease! I love them a lot, check out their blog!

The thing is that Godfrey’s Magnus was the only reason I even bothered with that goddamn movie. The one only reason I watched it. I did like his Magnus…

But when people say that “Harry is trying too hard - Harry’s Magnus isn’t good enough - Godfrey’s Magnus is the best” I can’t help but think that what they are really saying is that Magnus should be reduced to 3 seconds minutes of screen time, and never be heard of or seen, unless the main white characters need his services to move the plot. Because that what Magnus was in that goddamn movie.

And that’s how some parts of the fandom prefer to see characters of color on their screens.

This reminds me of the time, few years ago, when I was in the TWD fandom, and was looking through one of the fandom forums. There was that one racist person who kept hating on Glenn in every post they made in the thread. And then in one of their posts that person said something along the lines that they used to like Glenn in season 1, “until the show ruined him”… With character development, I assume.

What is interesting, a lot of people in the [general] fandom, the ones that used to hate Glenn later in seasons, considered season!one Glenn to be the best version of the character.

It’s easy to love a flawless helpful sidekick, who cracks a joke or two, but never is the center of the plot. Just like the genral TWD fandom loves Jerry now, they claimed to love Glenn back then. Coincidentally, the fandom started to hate Glenn viciously during the s3b arc – when he had the most of the character growth and development…

Don’t get me wrong, I love season one Glenn too, but he was just a character with great potential back then, who only grew more complex and interesting through seasons.

Same with Godfrey’s Magnus – he had a great potential, that sadly was never realized. Harry actually has this opportunity to flesh out this character and he is making it happen.

Okay so I keep looking at the main girl in front and I can’t help but notice that each girl has a slightly different uniform from each other. Some are right down to small orange lines going across their sides to different shoulder pads. Another thing is that we know these girls work for Lotor, so my question is, why did he send one out to go get scultrite? Girl whatchu doin? Just spitballing here but wHAT IF IT HAS TO DO WITH LOTOR’S OWN TELEDUV OR THE WHITE LION. NOT PROBABLE BUT POSSIBLE. But then another thought hit me when it was confirmed these girl’s were HALFLINGS.  Since Lotor is most likely half galran and half altean, DID HE RECRUIT THESE BABES BECAUSE HE RELATES TO THEM OR WANTS PEOPLE TO KNOW HALFLINGS ARE NOT TO BE MESSED WITH? Conclusion: gOD DAMN THEY’RE ALL GOOD LOOKIN. CANT WAIT TO SEE THESE BABES IN ACTION.

Okay so many people have been saying that this girl is actually Keith’s mom and I HOPE TO ZARKON SHE IS. THE RESEMBELANCE IS UNCANNY. But, remember how the producers said that all the female generals/warriors are HALFLINGS? But what could she be if she is a Halfling? Half galra/human? OR THE SAME AS LOTOR (HALF GALRA AND HALF ALTEAN?) I’m just randomly saying thoughts that come to mind and I’m just judging by the eyes and the ears. But if she is Keith’s mom I will scream because I love her so much already. But if she were the same as Lotor, I can picture her being VERY CLOSE WITH LOTOR and probably important to the plot, since she is most certainly the weblum girl due to the outfit she wears. bUT ANOTHER THING: I keep looking at the shocked Galra in the back and her angry expression and I can’t help but think that this must be the scene where that “who’s this little fellow?” calls out Lotor. And this is her and the crowd’s reaction to it. Shes gotta be looking at that guy here. Because obviously if her and Lotor are close or just acquainted, she wouldn’t like people being mean to her man.

Okay so every time I look at this frame, I can’t help but feel like the ship Allura is staring at is Lotor’s. I mean it’s big and all of the fighter crafts are flying out from it, the same we see the in trailers and teasers obviously serving under Lotor. I am just tRYING TO PICTURE ALLURA’S REACTION TO SEEING THIS. I can imagine her being either completely shook or like, ready to cry. Because we still don’t know what Allura’s relationship was to Lotor in the past. But since we’ve basically confirmed that Alfor and Zarkon were best buds, there’s no doubt they would have brought their kids together and they were most likely friends. But the biggest thing I cannot wait for to see in season three is LOTOR AND ALLURA’S MEETING/REUNION(?). Will she try to persuade him into fighting along side them? Will Lotor experience some inner conflict? Will Allura hate him? Will we see a battle or a sentimental moment between these two? OR JUST ALL OF THE ABOVE WOULD BE GREAT THANKS.

oKAY THIS FRAME GOT ME SHOOK. Who in the world is Zarkon by in this photo, if it’s even him? This could be 1 of 4 things I’m theorizing:

i) Zarkon’s Wife?

ii) King Alfor?

iii) Lotor?

iv) A Family Member or Close Friend?

All of the options are still up in the air but I’m really torn through a few choices. Because we see sunlight coming in through the window (which must imply this is a peaceful day) judging by the rays. However a part of me thinks it may be Alfor due to this frame:

See how everything is on fire and is emitting a golden ray? We don’t know for sure who Zarkon is killing here but it seems to be someone dressed in white, which may be Alfor (due to the light armour we have seen him in). Now I highly doubt that Zarkon would take the time to tuck in his best friend who he had just murdered but one can dream.

ANYWAY those were my random theories/thoughts that I had come up with at 1 am so go ahead and let me know what you think and if I’ve missed anything! I love seeing when you guys message me or leave anon comments! Until next time, adios.

And that brings us to Part Two of the season finale.  By the end of it, I’m pretty sure you will already be starting to count down the days until season 5.  At least, I know I will be.  Now, before I start, there’s not too much I can divulge about this second part without giving too much away, but like always, I will do my best to give you something to hold you over until you can watch it yourselves.  So here’s what you can expect from Part Two of this season finale.

The Nine-Nine must do everything in their power to help Jake and Rosa when things go south for them, and they are framed for a crime they didn’t commit.  Two months after said crime was committed, they are now preparing to go to trial and are looking for any way to get out of this situation and back to their normal lives.

During the chaos of all of this, Charles is freaking out and letting the stress get to him.  But when he finds out he may be able to help the case with a hacker connection he has, he immediately gets to work, with Terry in tow.

There are moments where certain members of the squad feel this is a lost cause, while others try to ignore what this could mean for their future if things go badly, but one thing’s for sure: the Nine-Nine always has each other’s backs.

This episode has twists and turns throughout with plenty of humor and sweet moments thrown in.  Here are a few things to look forward to in “Crime & Punishment”:

  • The meat-fork
  • Charles’ new hair
  • Sir-dance-a-lot
  • A “romantic” trip to Pennsylvania
  • A twist you won’t see coming

Don’t miss the all-new, one-hour season finale episode of BROOKLYN NINE-NINE airing Tuesday, May 23 (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

As always, feel free to send any questions you have my way, and I will answer, as long as they aren’t too spoilery!

anonymous asked:

What are your biggest wayhaught hopes for in season 2?

Honest to God truth. I want a sex scene. And I don’t say that because I want to watch them bang. But hers the dealio. I was a huge fan of Lost Girl. Like insanely huge. I’m still a huge fan, it’s one of my go to rewatches when I’m having a shitty day. Anyways. The very first episode I ever saw of Lost Girl was in 2012. I was sicker than shit and had mixed some cold medicine with some other stuff and was high as hell, but like on accident. Also at this time I was an RA (a resident assistant in a dorm building aka I was the student that you came to with your problems or wrote you up if you were in trouble, but I was a cool RA and would be happy to regale stories of that at another time) and that night we had a meeting with all the RAs in the. Holding with our boss who I wasn’t super fond of and I just laid on her living room floor and made snarky comments for the whole hour…because I was high as fuck. And so one of the other RAs was and still is one of my best friends in the entire world. So once the meeting wraps up, our boss tells her to take me to my room before anyone sees me. (Which was only semi successful as there was I girl I was super into and my gay ass ran into on the walk to my room and I tried to hit on her, long story short, she brought me soup the next day) so anyways my best friend takes me to my room but has to then go sit on desk duty, but I when I get sick I catch ‘man colds’ so I didn’t want to be left alone. So she had to go and her solution was to turn my tv on and flip through the channels and find something to amuse me. Now here I need to note, I was still one foot in the closet one foot out and only my best friends and a handful of other people knew I was into girls at this point. Also, I had never heard of Lost Girl. Well she is flipping through the channels and stops on SyFy because I’m into that stuff and it just so happens that Lost Girl was on, specifically the episode in the second season where Bo and Lauren are having really hot passionate sex. Now, up until this point the hottest girl on girl tv scene I have seen is Lexie walking in on Callie and Arizona in the shower. It was before gay marriage was legal after all. So anyways, that one episode of Lost Girl when I was super high got me hooked and he next week all I did was watch this show online. So as many of you know, Emily Andras was a Lost Girl writer for a while and Wynonna Earp is her baby. And I would love a WayHaught sex scene, because I know it will be done right. I also want it, because somewhere, there might be a 19 year old girl, in here dorm room, in maybe North Dakota, who is trying to come out of the closet. And maybe that girl will be flipping through the channels and land on SyFy and Wynonna Earp will be on. And maybe there will be a WayHaught sex scene in the episode she lands on. And maybe just maybe like me, it will help her is more ways than she knows how to express. I hope that answers your question.

I know I keep going on about how the character and relationship development is one of the best aspects of Leverage, but can I talk about Eliot and Hardison for a moment?

In the beginning, these guys don’t like each other. It takes Eliot, like, two seasons to become visibly warmed up to Hardison, and by season four they’re, like, besties, with a secret handshake and everything

And now, here we have Hardison showing his humanity by admitting that he’s scared. We haven’t seen him this scared since The Buried Alive Job, but this is a different kind of scared; his phobia was seen as irrational until he was buried alive, but his words here prove that his fear is rational:

“The Spanish Influenza killed fifty million people, and the population was a lot smaller back then.”

Then Parker asks him how many people would die now, and he says with a grimness we rarely see in his character, “150 million.” We rarely see Hardison serious, we rarely see Hardison scared, and yet we see him showing the real depth of his character, the rationality to his fear -

And Eliot grabs him, Eliot looks him in the eye, and Eliot says to him, “You are the smartest man I know, I can’t do this without you.”

Season one, Eliot wouldn’t have said something like this to anyone. Season one, Hardison wouldn’t have admitted to anyone that he was genuinely scared. Season one, these two were the unlikeliest of friends.

And now look at them.

My Top 10 Favorite Caps Moments of the Season Thus Far

As it is a Thursday, there’s no game today, and I am deliberately procrastinating, I have decided to make a countdown post of my top 10 favorite Caps moments of the season up until this point.

Disclaimer: these moments probably won’t be the actual best moments of the season, as I’ve forgotten a lot of important ones and have a bias towards things that have happened more recently. But I’m doing this for enjoyment and I hope that you enjoy it too.

I will be including a countdown of the moments, including a link to the video (I can’t embed the video cause I’m not that tech savvy) and a screencap. Now here we go.

10. Marcus Johansson’s overtime gamewinner in Chicago (11/11/16 at CHI)

In the first half Mojo enjoyed the sweet taste of the overtime goal. This one was made especially sweet by it being against the Hawks, and for TJ Oshie inexplicably tripping over his own skates and subsequently tripping a Chicago player, allowing Mojo to bang the winner home.

9. All of the times Andre Burakovsky scored the first goal of the game (1/15/17 vs PHI, 1/16/17 at PIT, 1/19/17 at STL, 1/21/17 at DAL)

I love my boy so much. In the recent weeks my boy got into a stretch where he really wanted to be the first one to score a goal. So much so that he was the first goal scorer in four straight games. I’m so proud of him look at him go. Go look at all his goals they’re all so beautiful.

8. TJ Oshie’s shootout goal that wasn’t actually in the shootout (2/1/17 vs BOS)

Oh my LAWD. TJ Oshie, the master of the shootout, got a nice pass from Backstrom and a breakaway and forgot that it was regulation time and not the shootout. He made Tuukka Rask look absolutely silly and I cried ‘cause it was beautiful.

7. Philipp Grubauer’s ridiculous save against Tyler Seguin (1/21/17 at DAL)

Holy frickin cow Grubauer absolutely robbed Tyler Seguin in arguably the best save of the entire year. My jaw dropped so hard, Grubi saved my life with this save.

6. Alex Ovechkin’s hat trick against the Blues (11/23/16 vs STL)

I love Ovi and I love hat tricks. What’s better than an Ovi hat trick? All three of these goals were beautiful and they should all be watched many times.

5. Tom Wilson’s fight against Brett Ritchie in Dallas (1/21/17 at DAL)

The Caps haven’t done much fighting this year, but Tom Wilson had himself a nice fight in Dallas. Actually, it wasn’t anywhere near Willy’s best right, but he still bloodied up this guy’s entire face and it was amazing.

4. Evgeny Kuznetsov’s ridiculous goal in Montreal (1/9/17 at MTL)

I do not exaggerate when I say that Kuzy saved my life with this goal. When I was watching this game I was having a crap day, and he scored to put the Caps up. What a beautiful classic Kuzy goal.

3. The Dmitry Orlov hit on Matt Duchene (10/18/16 vs COL)

I AM STILL NOT OVER THIS HIT. I WILL NEVER BE OVER THIS HIT. This is the best damn hit I have ever seen. Matt Duchene was fuckin launched into orbit. Matt Duchene is yet to have landed. Everytime I think about this hit I can’t stop smiling because it is THAT GOOD.

2. Nicklas Backstrom’s 500th assist (1/7/17 at OTT)

I have lots of love for Nicklas Backstrom. He got his 500th career assist, the most in Caps history (and also the first Cap to ever do that of course). He doesn’t get nearly enough recognition for what he does, but on this night he did. You can just see the glee on Ovi’s face. You go, Nick Backstrom. Let the NHL know why we love you so much.

1. Alex Ovechkin’s 1000th point (1/11/17 vs PIT)

Really, how could this not be number 1? I almost cried when I saw it was in the stars for Ovi to get his 1000th point at home against the Penguins. And he did it in under a minute. Holy cow I love Alex Ovechkin and it’s an honor to be watching a legend.

Honorable mentions: Any OT winner, any TJ Oshie shootout goal, any Andre Burakovsky goal, any shorthanded goal, that Karl Alzner slapshot (feat. Justin Williams breakaway)(1/1/17 vs OTT), the Orlov to Kuzy goal (11/23/16 vs STL), the Orlov goal against Pittsburgh (11/16/16 vs PIT), any shutout, the sweet Jay Beagle goal (11/18/16 vs DET), the fantastic Ovi-Oshie-Nicky passing sequence (1/13/17 vs CHI), Ovi’s fake-slapshot to give Nisky the easiest goal ever (1/15/17 vs PHI), breaking the streak (1/5/17 vs CBJ)

(Also let me know if any of the links don’t work)

(I spent so much time on this omg)

(Artist: tstray) Note: So apparently the whole “Merde” thing was a joke. I didn’t realize that. Please disregard that part.

So, apparently, the two Ciel’s theory is canon. Now, allow me to give my thoughts on this.

To be honest, at first, I didn’t support it at all. When I first took a look at that chapter in the Green Witch Arc, I thought that the image of the double Ciels were not supposed to be taken literally. I thought they were a metaphor of the two different personalities that Ciel had in his head. One being the happy childish boy he used to be, and the other being the sad, broken boy we know today.

So, now that it’s canon, what do I feel? Well, I’m pretty confused.

On one hand, I hate it, because now Sebastian has to deal with two young masters like a single dad. Also, I don’t like that our Ciel’s real name is Merde, which is french for shit. Who names their child that? Then again, The editors did say that they wanted to give our Ciel a name that sounded powerful and elegant. So perhaps, they just don’t know what it means.

On the other hand, I love it, because not only does Ciel have a family member that is alive, but just think of all the things they could have done together as little kids! They were probably the best of friends! That’s adorable!

Now, I have written a lot of Black Butler fanfiction. Despite that this little fact has been revealed, I am still calling our Ciel “Ciel” in my works to keep consistency. After all, we didn’t know this up until now, and in the anime (Black Butler season one and two) it didn’t even follow the canon manga anyways. So I suppose you can call my works “anime canon” rather than “manga canon?” I don’t know.

I’ve also heard that a lot of fans are outraged over this, and I say that they really need to take a chill pill. It’s okay if you don’t like it. But don’t get mad at Yana Toboso simply because she did something in her story that you didn’t want her to do. It’s Yana’s story. Yana’s the boss. And it’s not even a big deal. Calm down.

And it was just perfectly wrapped up in the neatest, best bow ever, and you really thought that might be the end, and no one heard anything for months, until they announced they got picked up for a Season 7 and you were SO happy that there was more story to tell?

Me too, fam. Me too.

It was a stupid dare, and you were a dumbass to go through with it…

A new tattoo removal clinic opened over the summer, and you guys were curious about it, even though no one in the group had any tats. So Jake, your obscenely wealthy roommate, convinced you to get some ink on your forehead, and keep it there for two weeks until you started getting laser treatments to get rid of it.

Jake would pay for the tattoo, and then for the removal. And if you went about your college life without covering up the tat or holing up in your room while you had it, you could choose any tattoo that would stay on Jake’s ass until graduation. Sure, you were in for a lot of pain, and the whole plan sounded like something straight out of Jackass, but college is the time to do stupid shit, and maybe these shenanigans could get you famous on Youtube or something.

While you sat in the chair, Jake showed the tattoo artist something from his phone. After a few hours wincing through the pain, you were handed a mirror and told to open your eyes. A meat emoji? You were surprised, but relieved that it wasn’t something obscene or embarassing.

The first few days, it unnerved you how everyone’s attention went straight to your forehead. You had to get used to telling everyone that yes, it’s a meat emoji, yes, it’s real. No, you weren’t that drunk when you got it. People started treating you different, too. In your classes, no one took you or what you had to say seriously.

Same thing in the quad: students tabling for clubs and causes might’ve chatted with you about the tattoo, but never gave you their spiel or their fliers. It was like they all assumed you were a dumbass who wouldn’t be interested in stuff like lit-zines, astronomy, or the environment, even though you were. Interested, that is. Not a dumbass. But if they’re all gonna be stuck-up pretentious assholes who think they’re so smart, did you really need to be in their org?

Good thing the rugby club captain was so cool to you, though. He said your tattoo showed you were the right kinda crazy he’d need in a rugby player. And he actually had been talking with Jake, who had played in prep school and was thinking about joining too.

Before you knew it you were showing up for practices and workouts, learning the basics, and bonding with the team and Jake. One day Jake called you MEATHEAD while poking your forehead, and the name stuck. That became the only thing the team called you, and even though it was the third week that you had the meat tat, you decided to put off removing it until the season was over.

Of course, now that you were known as MEATHEAD and were even getting a jersey with the nickname, you had to look the part. Meatheads need to be meaty, brah. With Jake as your workout partner, you chased gains 6 days a week. Jake made sure you had all the best sups and nutrition, too. And he kept calling you MEATHEAD and poking your tat. It made your mind go gooey. Meat on your forehead. Meathead. Nothing but muscle on your mind.

A year into becoming MEATHEAD, you remembered that Jake still had to fulfill his end of the deal, which was to get tatted on his ass. This time, the whole rugby club was there in the shop. You went to use the bathroom but couldn’t get it open. The tattoo artist pushed it open after a minute of you trying to pull.

“Wow, you really are a dumbass MEATHEAD” he said with a snicker.

“Is that supposed to be an insult, bro?” you said, puffing up your beefy chest.

Despite everyone telling you to calm down you couldn’t stop ranting about how you worked for all your muscle and you’re proud of your body and proud to be a MEATHEAD. In fact, you wanted the whole world to know, right then and there. So the plan to tat Jake’s ass was scrapped for a new one, and you sat back into the chair where you were marked with your identity a year ago. You are going to have a steak on your chest, with the words, “MEATHEAD PRIDE.” Because you are proud to be nothing but a dumbass walking slab of beef, with nothing but muscle on the mind.

Drag Race Predictions

If y’all haven’t watched last night’s episode just stop here, because I talk about who gets eliminated.

So, now that our sweet wailing princess Farrah is gone, (I loved Farrah, and I feel so bad she never got a chance to shine) it’s time to start eliminating some fan favorites. My predictions are of course influenced a bit by who I like, but I’m also trying to keep it objective.

Next week, I think Alexis or Valentina are going home. My money is on Valentina. The challenge is making a TV pilot, so it’s another writing/comedy challenge. Valentina’s humor is relatively one-note, and really hasn’t delivered. Last night’s challenge was rough for her. Her laughs came from the confusing mix of accents and affectations, not really from her wit. Her Snatch Game got me really excited because I thought it was one of the best concepts for snatch game in herstory, but it was really the same joke. She hasn’t really stood out in a while in this competition, yes she was top 3 in 9021-ho, but I was a little disappointed because I felt like she was just doing the valley girl voice she always does in untucked. I’m just not seeing a whole lot of versatility with her, and I think that comes from her limited experience performing in drag. I like Valentina a lot, I just think she’s showed us everything at this point unfortunately. Even the other queens are starting to see Valentina as kind of a place holder. All the reads about just standing there and smiling were telling to me.

Alexis is my other contender to go home next week. This is a group challenge, and she doesn’t really play well with others. Also, her personality is very diva-esque (she’s a drag queen I know but she goes a bit further than the other girls.) She also knows she only has one win, and was just in the bottom. I kinda predict her making the entire pilot about herself to try to stand out, but as we saw last night when Alexis gives herself a big role she crumbles. Plus, we found out last night, she can’t write for shit, so I don’t actually trust her to come up with a funny role for herself. I’m also pretty tired of her attitude. As much as I identify with the jappy queen from New York, she’s been pretty bratty lately especially when things aren’t going her way. Now things really aren’t going her way since she was on the bottom, so I’m pretty sure she’s sunk.

I think Nina is also in danger, and could be a surprise elimination either next, or in between Alexis and Valentina. To me, Nina doesn’t really seem like she wants to be there. She’s been kind of over it all for a while, and my patience is wearing thin. I love Nina’s out of the box style so much, but she’s got a major attitude problem. Her little tantrum with Shea last night was over the line. Shea has done nothing but help build Nina up, and inspire confidence in her every week, so I think her shitting on her biggest ally was a subtle way of detaching and pushing herself towards the door. She also has done really poorly in the acting challenges. Even when she has her choice of character, she’s so uncomfortable committing to anything other than Nina, and it’s not looking good for her having to make a character after what she tried last night. I honestly think it’ll be her and Valentina in the bottom 2 this week, and I think Nina will survive that lip sync. I also say Nina for top 5 because she’s too good for ratings for the show to let her go any sooner. She’s been the main antagonist, and one of the most talked about queens for a lot of reasons.

That leaves us with a top 4 of Shea Coulee, Trinity Taylor, Sasha Velour, and Peppermint. Who makes it to top 3 is pretty up in the air, but there are a few things to consider. Namely, Shea is the only guarantee right now. She’s never landed anywhere near the bottom, and she’s clearly a favorite for the judges. Even the guest judges have loved Shea with such limited exposure. I don’t think there’s a clearer front-runner, and Shea is easily my pick to win. It’s about time a Chicago girl won, and She has navigated this competition so beautifully that I think it’d be a crime to give the crown to anyone else.

As it currently stands, I think Trinity will be in the top 3 as well, so long as she pulls her shit together. She’s already lip synced once, and got real close this week. She does have 2 wins which helps, but if she’s in the bottom again, I think that’ll hurt her chances of making it to the final 3, especially if Sasha or Peppermint win another challenge. I like Trinity enormously though, which has been the biggest surprise of this season, and I’m kind of hoping she makes it to the final 3, but I wouldn’t be heartbroken if she didn’t.

I think Sasha is in a lot better standing than most people realize. Sasha won “Good Morning Bitches,” and made top 3 in the CUNT pageant, snatch game, and now the comedy challenge. She’s been in the top 3 for literally half of this competition, and I think after 9021-ho she kind of figured out her exact humor wont always work, and learned how to make her style more TV friendly. She’s playing this game really well, and she’s really smart. I think she could easily win another challenge and secure a spot in the top.

Peppermint is the dark horse of this competition. It’s weird to say that, because she’s basically been the narrator all season, so it’s hard to imagine this season without Peppermint. She has the best confessionals, and the most magnetic personality of the group. Another really good one for TV. Until last night, I was convinced Peppermint would make it to the top 4, then get sent home because clearly no one this season could beat her in a lip sync (except maybe Trinity so let’s all hope to god that becomes a legendary lip sync in herstory somehow.) If she wins another challenge, she’ll make it to top 3 easy. I also think Peppermint might pull a Naomi Smalls right now and just start kicking ass at the last minute. I love Peppermint, and it’d make me really happy to see her make top 3. In that case, it’d be whoever doesn’t have more than one win to get bumped from the top.

So, in summary, I think the elimination order is Valentina, Alexis, and Nina for the next 3 weeks. Then, the top 3 will come down to challenge wins. I predict the top 3 will be Shea, Trinity, and Sasha (with Peppermint winning Ms Congeniality) but my ideal top 3 is Shea, Sasha, and Peppermint. I’ve really loved this season, and I’m actually rooting for a lot of the girls which never happens. I just fucking love this show so much.

Literally live by this quote

No one actually knows what’s best or what the future holds. Until you actually see the results, no one ever knows. So at the very least, why don’t we rely on what we do know. Let’s keep the feelings that we have right now precious. Even though it seems like our lives never change, they slowly do. And just like how we never notice… the changing of the seasons… the same goes for our hearts.” - Nanami Takahashi

Sense8 Season 2

So I just finished the second season of Sense8, meaning I waited until 2am my time to watch it and then binged it all in one sitting. And shit. Lemme tell you. That was just the best season of television I have ever seen in my entire life. I’m going to keep this as spoiler free as possible for those still watching or who haven’t been able to yet but oh my god.

First, the Sensates who didn’t get a lot of screetime in the first season are now the stars of the show. Capheus (who is played amazingly by Toby Onwumere btw), Sun, Kala. All of them are given such wonderfully fleshed out stories without compromising the other storylines already in place. The Wachowskis also just made this entire world their sandbox with the direction they took with other clusters, what it means to be a Sensate, and BPO. Any small details in the first season are never forgotten, and multiple references to past character interactions are made as all of the characters and their support networks work together flawlessly to execute some of the best scenes. The sharing between the cluster is amazing and so well executed and has truly become an artform now that the cluster has control of their abilities to share and help one another. All of my questions are answered from the first season while even more are brought up by the lore that has been created for this world that contains people like the Sensates. It tackles such important issues for many of us head-on and without fear, and the show is not afraid to get political and parallel itself to what this reality is experiencing now. It is heartfelt, heartbreaking, emotional, action-packed, and everything I needed and never realized I needed from the second season, and my only regret is that I have to wait now for the next one to experience even more of what the Wachowskis and the Cluster have to offer.

Also, if anyone wants to inbox me so we can gush about this season, please do. I’m dying over here without anyone to talk about this season with, and you can be sure there are rewatches in my future.

On delays, the rest of season one, and being whelmed.

Before I get to the post-proper, this is me offering a cyber high-five to anyone who got the “whelmed” reference!

Hello all!

Alex Brown here! Your friendly, neighborhood co-showrunner. First, I’d like to thank each and every one of you for supporting our show - when we released our first episode nearly a year ago, I figured it would be a fun side project to do with my friends, and that maybe some old college acquaintances who knew us would listen.

I’m over-the-moon ecstatic that I was wrong. Your response to our episodes, our characters, our music (which is the best part, let’s be real), and the humor we try to put in our stage directions is beyond anything I could’ve ever dreamed of. Throughout this past year, we’ve seen spectacular fan art, amazing fan fics, lots of fantastic theories, moodboards that fill my heart with more joy than I can express, and lots of other great things. As someone who’s lived the past six or so years as a frustrated writer who has struggled to get published, it’s been ridiculously fulfilling to see that I’m capable of helping to create something that people can genuinely connect to.

With that said, I want to let you all know where I’m at with a few of our processes, because, for me, the struggle right now is quite real. It’s not really a secret that one of our mini-episodes, Home, was influenced a lot by my own experience with depression. It’s certainly something that Etta has, too - but a lot of what’s in there are things I’ve felt for a long time. And, for me, some of those things still linger.

I have mechanisms in place to help confront these thoughts. Other than on-going therapy, I like to put a lot on my proverbial plate to keep busy when I’m not in an introspective mood. My day job helps with a lot of that - during the school year I’m often in late-night meetings, or meeting with student groups on the weekend. I was hoping to have a little more free time this summer, but my day job seems determined to keep adding to my growing to-do list.

I’m also stage managing a show this summer, which has been lots of fun (and is totally my jam - I’m a way better stage manager than I am a stage actor, lemme tell ya). But the theater I’m working with is about an hour away on a good day, so there’s a lot of driving involved at the moment.

There are other things I’m trying to balance as well - getting another book written (as that’s been on hold for…about a year now), trying to make sure that my friends stay connected (being scattered around the country makes that a bit harder), trying to just… have some downtime and read a book, or watch The Bachelorette. All of these things are very important to my mental health - and all of these things haven’t been happening nearly as much as they should.

That was a very long-winded explanation of what’s going on with me, but I wanted to share that with you all, because I want you to know that I take this show seriously. It’s pushed me creatively, taught me new skills, made me a better writer, certainly a better actor, and I hope a better friend. I truly adore the community that’s been built around this podcast, and I can’t wait to see what you all think of the rest of season one!

And that’s what the point of this post is, I think. I have most of what I need for episode 11, but what I don’t have right now is a lot of time. As we’ve said lots before, I get individual audio from each actor, have to sift through all of their takes, and piece the puzzle together from there. It can take hours - sometimes, most of the time, it winds up taking days. Which is not a problem if I didn’t have lots of other time consuming obligations tugging me in their direction - but, here we are. I’m writing this note at 1:46 in the morning because I didn’t get back from rehearsal until 11:10 PM, caught up on The Bachelorette, and now have time to craft this note.

So, what I’m getting at is that we have sixteen planned episodes for season one, and we are very close to getting episode 11 out to you. I promise that I’ll try my best to get that done before June, but the show I’m stage managing opens right at the end of the month, so things might be a little hectic.

Once episode 11 goes out, we’re going to take another hiatus to prep the rest of the episodes. This time, I don’t plan to lift the hiatus until the rest of season one is edited and ready to be released. Unfortunately, I don’t have a timeline for you yet - and, seeing as how release dates seem to be a bit flexible when it comes to this show - I think it makes sense not to speculate right now. Once we know when episode 11 is coming out - and when the rest of season one will happen - we’ll let you know. I promise.

In the meantime, I’m hoping to get some admin stuff straightened out so we can start to sell our wonderful merchandise! The response we got to our designs was amazing, and I want to make sure that you all have access to that if you’d like to rep the show somehow! (And props again to Em and Eliza for the rad designs!). Once I get a handle on that, we’ll also launch our Patreon - but I want to make sure we have cool rewards for all of you, because you deserve the best! I don’t want to try to rush into things for the sake of having/doing them anymore - and I think waiting on these things will help us in the long run.

Wow, this note was much longer than I anticipated. Uhhh, so, yeah. We’re still here, and we will continue to make content and tell what we hope is one kick-ass story. It just might take us a while, and that’s 100% on me. I am but one person, and there are but 24 hours in a day. But we’ll get there together, one way or another.

So thank you, thank you, thank you for your support! You’ve made this whole experience into probably the best thing I’ve ever done, and I’m so glad you’re here.

If you’re going to stay for a while and would like some chocolate fondue, I hear there’s some overflowing in the kitchen.

@theglobalcluster posted this on Twitter. This is what the Twitlonger reads:

Hello Cluster,

what a WILD ride it has been until now! Yesterday has literally been the best day EVER. We revived the show. Despite ALL ODDS being against us, WE FUCKING DID IT. We proved EVERY single one wrong: One of the creators -who still is convinced more seasons won’t happen but let’s keep on proving him wrong, Netflix -who tried to tell us it was over multiple times, and the rest of the world who kept telling us “It’s not coming back, give up.”

Well this is your proof that as long as we’re together, I know there’s nothing we can’t do. UNITED, we kicked major ass, and this is not the time to give up.
Lana’s letter tells us “After this, you NEVER know” which is definitely a subtle way to tell us to keep going, that we can do this, we did it before. We can do this again.

We thought long and hard about Netflix, the special, and the renewal of our subscriptions.

We believe Netflix is throwing us a bone with the special: a two hours episode that is supposed to shut us up for good and get us off their neck. We gave them one hell of a fight, and a hell of a bad press, and they think that a special would make us forget everything. Make us renew our subscriptions and then after the special nothing would change. We would have to fight from zero and we are TOO SMART to fall for this.

We will continue to withold our subscriptions until next year.

The special has been approved so they cannot go back on this. So don’t get too eager on renewing the subscription. Yes we are thankful for the special, but remember, it’s in their own interested to wrap up. They saw what we caused, saw we weren’t about to give up and understood that power that we have.

The WONDERFUL thing though about all this, is that WE also realised the power that we hold. SO.. Now it’s time to make our requests and reorganise.

- During this year, we will organise email parties to Netflix asking them to be SO KIND to merchandise Sense8 with DVD Boxes, Shirts, Funko Pops and anything you can think of and you’d like to have. Have a thought and let us know so that we can definitely organise something. That way WE will get the merch we want and that will be extra money for Netflix as well. Merchandising the product is also in their best interests.

- We will try to get the cast apparitions on numerous TV shows, it will be easier now that the special is approved because networks won’t be afraid of going against Netflix.

- Keep trying to get our lovelies on the covers of some magazines we know Sense8 would perfectly fit on.

- Cast & creators appreciation days.

- Emails parties to Netflix again, reminding them that we STILL want more seasons, at least two after the special. We doubt 3 are truly doable, so let’s aim for two and anything else is still a bonus.

- Let’s celebrate us, as a cluster, for everything we have done with appreciation days in which we share the love we have for each other through the show.

And this is just a small snippet of what is to come.

Of course, the tasks won’t be daily anymore but weekly. We don’t want to burn out our energies as we are only getting started.

We kindly ask you to keep JM out of this, last time MANY of us gave up because he didn’t have any hope. Many lost hope because of his words. This time it will be different. This time WE KNOW WE CAN. This time, we know that there is hope as long as we fight. So please, trust us, YOUR CLUSTER, TRUST LANA to keep fighting WITH us and for us. Let’s count only on our own.

Our collaborating campaigns will remain “I am we campaign” and “S8Daily”

Make sure to give them a follow and stay all tuned.

We LOVE you.

Maia, Vale and Christine from your beloved Global Cluster.

here’s brief rant i mean INTRODUCTION about samuel :)

Kim Samuel or Kim Arredondo Samuel, 2002 liner, Half-korean and Half-latino, an ex-pledis trainee, was a part of SEVENTEEN TV when he was young but however in 2013 he departed from the company before debuting into SVT. He later became a part of a HIP-HOP duo called 1PUNCH (he was named PUNCH) but then disbanded. Labelmate ONE was scouted by YG ent. and left samuel behind (lol im not throwing shades in this part). NOW, he was a part of PRODUCE 101 Season 2, he didn’t get into top 11 and only got top 18th spot out of 20 trainee remaining which is a main freaking mystery because HE WAS ONE OF THE BEST TRAINEE IN THE SHOW I REPEAT ONE OF THE BEST TRAINEE WITH NATIONAL LEADER JONGHYUN who korea has slept on too. HE CHOREOGRAPH SOME DANCES FOR THE EVALUATION PERFORMANCES AND HE GOT THE FIRST RANK A SPOT ON THE FIRST EPISODE AND UNTIL NOW I DON’T KNOW WHY KOREA IS SLEEPING ON HIM.

Why I believe Sabine NEEDS to become the Mandalore...

With the introduction of the Darksaber into Rebels, it put spotlight on Sabine who for the most part was either overlooked or shrouded in mystery. Sure, we knew she was a great fighter and that she’d run away from the Imperial academy, but we never fully understood the emotional turmoil she was in until ‘Trials of the Darksaber’.

'Trials of the Darksaber’ was by far one of the best episodes in season 3, and it gave so many more layers of depth to Sabine. You watched her grow, and struggle, and fall down but still manage to pull herself back up. It made her character so much more relatable and interesting, and the creators began establishing that she had the strength to rise to the role of Mandalore. This was a storyline that I was SO excited about, until this line happened:

This one line, completely ruined 'Legacy of Mandalore’ for me.

To me, this line was basically the Lucasfilm team saying “She’s not going to be Mandalore.”

Now, I could handle that somewhat. It was disappointing but, I could live with it.

But it was the moment, only one hour after the episode had aired, that people began putting Bo Katan in Sabine’s place.

Now this made me so furious. I suddenly felt like Rebels was taking a backseat again, and the characters of the Ghost Crew were getting overshadowed by Clone Wars characters that keep reappearing.

I have no problem with Clone Wars characters in Rebels, IF THEY HAVE A REASON TO!

Ahsoka, yep, that made sense.

Rex, great! That story line with him and Kanan was perfect!

Hondo? Not really necesarry but… okay?

Bo Katan becoming the Mandalore instead of Sabine?

*Flips the table*

If this is true, then my respect for Rebels is slowly dwindling. Why can’t we let one of the main characters of Rebels have some kind of freaking importance in their own show!!! Why must Sabine and Zeb get downgraded to the comic relief or explosives expert, while bringing in a character from another show to have the spotlight?

It’s really sad.

It feels like the further we progress through the seasons the further we’re moving away from the focus of the Ghost crew. I understand that it’s about the formation of the Rebellion and all but still, I started following this show because I loved the six main cast they established in season one. I fell in love with every single one of them, and adored the family relationship between them all. So seeing the lack of Zeb’s story, Hera’s development, Kanan’s struggle with his blindness and now Sabine once again being shoved into the background, it really makes me enjoy the show less and less.

But I’m getting off track. Basically, Sabine has everything going for her. She’s House Visla, she’s strong, she can wield the Darksaber, and she is a selfless, noble leader. She deserves this opportunity.

So if Lucasfilm are truly going to pass this onto Bo Katan, I will be sorely disappointed.

If you’ve made it through my rant then congratulations (and sorry), and remember this is just my opinion. If you think Bo Katan should be the Mandalore then that’s great, it’s your opinion, I just wanted to express mine.

Ashi and Jack: Yin and Yang

Ashi and Jack: Yin and Yang
Ever since the show came out in 2001, “Samurai Jack” captivated the minds of kids and adults for over fifteen year and has to be one of the greatest cartoons of all time. With the fifth and final season now at the halfway mark since its 2017 release, people are more hyped than ever about the show and how it will finally end properly after its premature and rather anticlimactic ending in 2004. The most talked about and most heated debate surrounding the show has to be over the relationship between Jack and a brand new character to the show, Ashi; the surviving member of The Daughters of Aku and his newest ally. Ever since she appeared in episode one, fans from all over have been asking questions like “what purpose she has to the show?” and “will she be important to Jack’s quest” But the biggest question is “what is her true relationship with Jack? Platonic, romantic or father/daughter?” From what I can see from the show and her interactions with Jack, she plays a major role in the show and to Jack himself. If anything, Ashi and Jack perfectly correspond to the ancient chinese philosophy of Yin and Yang. I notices this after watching the first episode and left brief comments for this perspective on YouTube and Tumblr with multiple fans agreeing with me. Now with six episodes out, more evidence has been given to support this claim and I will list them below.
Upbringing and Childhood
When we first see Jack in episode one of season one, he’s a happy child who has two loving parents and grew up peacefully as a prince. His life takes a turn when home was destroyed by the shapeshifting demon; Aku, and was separated from his family and travels the world in order to protect him and to make him strong enough to fight Aku when the time comes. As he travels the world and begins his training, he is still allowed to a child and experience many types of people, lands and philosophies while also developing close friendships. These experiences make Jack into a well rounded, responsibly mature young man of knowledge and wisdom. When we first see Ashi in episode 1 of season five, it’s the exact opposite. She and her six twin sisters were thrown into rigorous and painful training to kill Jack shortly after birth by a mentally and physically abusive mother; The High Priestess of the all female cult of Aku, who feels no love for Ashi or her sisters. She also never allows the sisters to show any love for each other and would even tell them to leave the other behind if they’re too weak stating “The weak have no place with Aku.” Ashi was never allowed to be the curious child she was and was punished if she strayed for a moment from her mission. She was raised all her life in a deep dark cave and was never allowed to go outside until her adulthood which made her ignorant to how the world really works and only knew what her mother allowed her to; which were mostly lies. This made Ashi and her sisters immature to everything but how to kill. Even though she and The Daughters of Aku were capable fighters and were able to overpower Jack in their first battle, their inexperience to the real world and their immaturity was their ultimate downfall because the more experienced Jack was able defeat them all and to kill six of the sisters leaving only Ashi alive. Jack’s maturity gave him an edge over them. . Ashi and Jack’s opposing and yet mirroring childhoods and experiences are aligned perfectly to Yin’s darkness and Yang’s brightness. Yin and Yang even translate to “Dark- Light.” Ashi was raised in darkness while Jack was raised in light.
Colors and Gender
As we can tell. Ashi and Jack look very different from each other in gender and body types. Yet they are still able to match one another in their same asian heritage and their monochromatic colorings. Ashi is female and mostly wears a black body suit throughout the show while Jack is male and mostly wear a white gi throughout most of the series. In the Yin and Yang philosophy, Yin is black and corresponds to female while Yang is white and corresponds to male. Though Yin and Yang look very different, they still look like they belong together in the same world. The same can be said for Ashi and Jack.
Personalities and Characteristics
By watching how Ashi and Jack interact with each other, it’s quite clear they have opposing and yet complementary personalities between the two. With Jack being the polite, humble and quiet man of peace that he is; Ashi tends to be the more outspoken, smart mouthed type who doesn’t think twice about throwing the first punch when provoked. Even though they have contradicting personalities that can push each other to their limits or even apart at times, they also have characteristics that are similar to each other and that pulls them close together such as their kind hearted wants to protect the innocent and their love and appreciation for life and the beauty it holds. They also have the same drive to do the right thing but just handle it in their own ways. No matter how opposing they are from each other, they still carry the same mutual respect for each other the way Yin and Yang have for the other. Even though Yin and Yang can at times be at odds, they’re still interconnected to each other. As the symbol of Yin and Yang shows, Yin is the dark piece that has a white circle inside of it while Yang is the white piece that has a black circle inside of it. The visual representation shows each side is equal and yet opposite of the other and how one side never tries to dominate the other but instead work together for balance. The same can be said for Ashi and Jack. Ashi has spent her entire life in darkness and was subjected to the cold nature of life. And yet she holds enough positive thinking to be drawn to life outside of her dark world just like Yin. Jack; on the other hand, was brought up in a more  and positive aspect of life. But over the fifty years of wandering without aging and seeing Aku’s devastating affect on the world, Jack has lost some of his hope and his heart is gripped by his dark thoughts, further implying his connection with Yang. Ashi is dark but has a little light inside while Jack is light but has a little darkness inside of him.
Teamwork and Friendship
As mentioned before, Ashi and Jack have opposing personalities, but this doesn’t stop them from getting along. If anything, their differences help each other in difficult situations and also push to where they need to be. In real life, the world has a way of keeping itself balanced and in order. The same goes with humans. We all have those people in our lives who keep us balanced and in check because they have certain aspects we ourselves don’t possess. Yin and Yang are all about balance and duality with the opposing elements. Both sides drive to create harmony with the other and to guide each other down the right path. Both even manage to discover some aspect of themselves they didn’t existed until they experience the other. When Jack told Ashi about how everything she knew was a lie, she wanted him to show her the truth. During this course of showing her the truth, Ashi discovered she is a caring person and has a good heart when she let her hate go and allowed Jack’s words to sink in. Jack guided Ashi away from her darkness. Jack, on the other hand, lost the last bit of hope he had left when he believed he failed to save a group of children who were being controlled by a sadistic villain. He believed they were dead and this forced him to go away without leaving Ashi a clue of where he was going. He plunged deeper into darkness and couldn’t get out on his own and was about to end his life. Luckily, Ashi went looking for him and learned about all the good Jack has done for others. Ashi now knows the whole truth about Jack and has become a fully matured and rational individual because of the hope he gave her. In return, she uses that same hope when she finds him to restore Jack’s hope and purpose to find his magic sword and end Aku once and for all. She reminds Jack of who he really is and this saved him from suicide. Because they never knew each other in the past, they were lost souls who were incomplete alone. Together now, they have overcome physical and spiritual obstacles due to their influences on one another. Ashi is mature and is full of hope because of Jack and Jack has restored his drive to continue his quest and has regained his hope because of Ashi. They bring out the best in each other and are now unified in the same purpose to bring order back into the world the way Yin and Yang work as one to bring unity.
For the first time in the whole series, Jack has found an ally, partner and friend in Ashi who will stay by his side until the the very end. These two have brought a new element into the series we haven’t seen yet; duality. For the past four seasons, Jack has done everything alone and had brief alliances. But now that Ashi has come into his life, he no longer has to be alone in his journey. He can now share his hard quest with a true equal who is willing to live and die by his side. No matter how you might see their relationship, these two will forever be linked together and can never be separated. Ashi and Jack are truly Yin and Yang.
