the best cast in the universe

Wonder Woman hits $600+ million World-Wide, Passing Man of Steel

WOW, Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel had nearly double the budget as well as an ensemble cast of Hollywood A-List actors that included Russell Crowe, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne. It also had a very long post-production to polish the movie. Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman, on the other hand, had a cast whose biggest star was only Chris Pine, not known as a box office draw. Patty Jenkins sure did the impossible with a smooth production that practically left no scenes on the chopping block and costing only $150 mil (the lowest budget in the DCEU). With universal acclaim from fans and critics alike, Wonder Woman will surpass Man of Steel easily proclaiming it as DCEU’s best solo movie and one of the greatest superhero origin movies ever. Not only that but Patty Jenkins will be the highest grossing live-action movie by a female director!

It’s in the books! Wonder Woman has pulled in $289 million domestically as of Wednesday and will enter the weekend with a box office total of over $292 million. That will put the film ahead of 2012’s Man of Steel, which left theaters with a total of $291 million (via Forbes), and Wonder Woman is only about to enter its fourth week.

Worldwide the film has also succeeded, already pulling in over $600 million. Man of Steel ended up making $668 million after it left theaters, and Wonder Woman is easily poised to pass it. It won’t the only one in her rearview mirror either, as it could pass Logan ($617 million) by next week.

Fight for My Way Episode 1 to 10

You didn’t think I wasn’t going to talk about this show, right? Y’all know I’m Park Seo-joon trash, there’s something about him I just love. And Kim Ji-won is one of the best young actresses in South Korea, so the combination had me buzzing since the casting news came out.

The only reason I’m not doing weekly episode reviews it’s lack of time. I had to prioritize University and shows like Suspicious Partner have me more invested thanks to, not only the hot romance, but the murder-mystery surrounding our leads. With that said, let’s move on to…

Ko Dong-man, precious soul. I love me an assertive, granted somehow slow to catch up, leading man. Dong-man says what he’s thinking, when he’s thinking and to the right person he should be saying it. The last 10 episodes, watching him catch up to his heart and realize that finally he has a shoot with Ae-ra was entertaining, painful, frustrating and satisfying all at the same time.

I like how his feelings slowly grew until he reached a point where he’s straight up rejecting his psycho ex not only because he’s 100% over her but also because he’s that sure that he and Ae-ra are finally in the same place at the same time. Which means that Dong-man, being a man willing to take risks for the things he cares, will fight for his relationship with Ae-ra until the very end.

Choi Ae-ra is by far one of my favorite Dramaland leading ladies ever. She’s strong, intelligent, confident and vulnerable all at the same time. Kim Ji-won is portraying her in a way where it’s impossible not to relate to her as a young woman living in the world today and dealing with sexist crap, rejection, forgotten dreams, love and a sense of self-worth. Even if Dong-man wasn’t her better half, I could watch a show entirely about her taking no prisoners, walking barefoot after kicking Prince Charming to the curb, failing and succeeding in life. That’s how good she is.

Every week I wonder what new side of her we will get to see, since she’s the kind of character that keeps on brining out the best of those around her. Lending her strength to others and keeping everything together, which is why I think -after 10 freaking episodes- that things should start going her way. As much as I love watching her blooming romance with Dong-man, I want Ae-ra to succeed in her dreams even more. She’s a badass, I know she will make it, I just hope it will be as satisfying as the show it’s building it up to be with week after week of professional disappointment.

In Dramaland it’s also very common for the characters to be chaebols or in professions where monetary issues aren’t a thing. And even if they came from a poor background, by the time we get to know them those struggles are over. Which is why I have to give credit to Fight for My Way for giving us several leading characters with blue-collar professions, truly fighting for their way into the world, their dreams and people they love.

The rest of the cast is stellar, and as much I love to see Dong-man and Ae-ra weekly adoration for each other, I’m equally invested in the relationship between Seol-hee and Joo-man. Every week these characters bring out all the feelings in me and somehow I always end up heartbroken, even if they are in a good place at the moment because I know what they need to do in order to fix their relationship is to take a time out and do some soul searching.

Joo-man’s inability to keep away from Ye-jin’s advances is incredibly frustrating, and episode 10 felt like a breaking point.

It’s true that their relationship has been slowly worn-out through the years and the fact that, at this moment, they are in different places and want different things for their lives doesn’t help them in any way. As a matter of fact, it’s only making things worse.

It’s not Joo-man’s fault that Seoul-hee doesn’t want more than what she currently has or that she’s content with just small things. The same way that it’s not her fault Joo-man’s is dissatisfied with his life and has work related ambitions. Their different points of views of how each of them want life to look like it’s what have them at odds, not their feelings for each other, which is why like I said before they both need to be apart in order to work things out. If they are meant to be together, they will find their way back to each other.

Seol-hee has taken enough crap of his wishy-washy attitude towards Ye-jin and now that this woman is actively trying to sway him, I think it’s time for Seol-hee to kick Joo-man to the curb and concentrate on her blog or whatever is that she wants in her life. Which actually, that part is not all that clear to me and I also think isn’t to her either. I know she’s a strong and caring person, but who is Seol-hee without Joo-man? What does she want to do that doesn’t have to do with him or a plan for their future together? I would like to see her go through this journey in the next episodes.

What do you guys think about the show? The characters? Is there something you agree or disagree with me? Let me know in the comments!

one word spells

As long as you can focus your energy and set your intention your spell should work, so I’ve designed these 5 spells using just one word for a Witch who needs a quick fix.

Mariquil

Pronounced mar-e-quil

Used to calm a temper or an upset person. From the latin word for sea, mare, and the english word tranquil. Essentially you are calling the sea inside them to be still. For better results cast with wet hands.

Univert

Pronounced Uni-var

Used for faster transport. I use it at the train station to have a shorter wait time but really its designed for traffic lights. By combining uni from universe and vert, the french word for green, you’re essentially asking the universe to make your path green.

Visididen

Pronounced Vis-e-did-en

Used to go unnoticed or invisible. Taken from the english words vision and hidden. For best results chant it softly while visualising yourself turning transparent.

Lapagna

Pronounced Lap-ag-na

Used when you just need someone to shut the f**k up but are too polite to say so. Taken from the Latin words lapis and magna, meaning stone and voice. For best results hold a stone or some earth while casting, if they’re really pissing you off just throw the stone or dirt at them.

Bavarignis

pronounced Bav-are-ig-ni

Used to strike up a conversation or to continue a conversation. Taken from the French word bavarder, which means chat, and the Latin word ignis, which means fire. Basically you’re asking for the conversation to spark or catch fire. For best results flick a lighter in your pocket or light a match.

Literally anyone: they don’t make cartoons like they used to :/

Me: DARN TOOTIN THEY DON’T. We’re in a renaissance of American animation with some of the best cartoons we’ve ever had. I’m talkin art styles, I’m talkin clever and heartfelt writing, I’m talkin voice actors, I’m talkin diverse casts and characters, I’m talkin new animation techniques. All I watch is cartoons and I’ve got a list of shows for you to watch if you think kids don’t have quality shows to watch these days. And if you think they’re only enjoyable for kids, then woooo boy I’ve got some shows for you.

Spell Loopholes

Wording a spell correctly is extremely important! We’ve all heard the stories of someone who cast a spell and technically had it come true, but in a way that wasn’t what they actually wanted at all! Here’s a list of common “loopholes” spells will take to get the job done, and how to make sure you get what you want!

🕯Taking its time- “I want money,” you tell the Universe, hoping to get some help with rent. Well, rent comes and there’s no extra cash in sight! Then, two weeks later, a surprise wad of cash all but lands in your lap. The spell came true, but not in time for when it mattered. This is easily fixed by adding “…by the end of the month,” or specifying what the money is for, which in this case was this month’s rent.

🕯No help needed- “I want money,” you say again. Magic will often take the path of least resistance, so if you’ve already got a paycheck on the way, the spell might not do much besides make sure it doesn’t get lost. There. Money. It can be good to specify that you want your spell to work in addition to everything you’re already doing!

🕯 Bare minimum- This time from your money spell, it arrives on time from an unexpected source! But it’s a quarter you found on the ground. Maybe three quarters. Not much help! If your intent would require the money to be close to a certain amount or any other specific like that, let it be known! The universe isn’t there to make assumptions.

🕯 For the worst- Let’s say you have two friends that have been flirting, so you cast a nice little spell to let any mutual interest between them blossom into a relationship and save them some trouble. It happens, but it turns out they do NOT work well with each other. They are interested in each other, but argue constantly and bring out the worst in each other. The relationship is hurting them both. You had the absolute best of intentions, but there was no way of knowing that would happen! This is why a lot of witches include the phrase, “for the highest good” in their spells, as a failsafe for any unexpected pitfalls like this that may be lurking. The universe will see them but doesn’t know to care unless you specify.

🕯Another layer- Once I made a dream bear to bring me more dreams. Well, I had lots more dreams, but couldn’t remember any of them! I didn’t think that was something I needed to specify. Make sure you hit every point you need to be satisfied with a result.

As a general rule, if my spell includes a prayer or petition of any sort, I take a few minutes and comb through it for stuff like this beforehand. What am I specifying? What am I leaving up to interpretation? Could any of that manifest in a way I would be unhappy with? Take a little time before you start casting to smooth out all those wrinkles! Best of wishes!

Warner and DC To Split in 2019

For 30 years since Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman film, Warner Bros. had a hand in every major DC Comics property film. That relationship will officially come to an end with 2019′s The Batman, the last film starring Ben Affleck in the role.

This comes as a surprise despite murmurs of fan dissatisfaction with the current DC cinematic universe. According to DC CEO Denise Sieyo, “Warner did an amazing job with DC films but we need to start fresh. The current wave of this cinematic universe will be completed, and then we’ll move on.” This news means the cancellation of several films including Suicide Squad 2, Cyborg, and The Green Lantern Corps.

The move comes after a harsh year of fan discontent, with millions taking to the internet to berate choices such as the casting of Ben Affleck, the dark tone of Zack Snyder’s visions for the Justice League, and the Suicide Squad movie, which did well at the box office and even won an Oscar for Best Makeup, but was critically loathed and saw many fans aghast. The move is mutual according to Warner CEO and last surviving Warner brother Brian Hugh Warner.

More surprising is the upcoming DC plan. Having left Warner, the comic superpower will team up with its next studio: Marvel Studios. Said Sieyo, “Marvel has been doing pretty well and we thought, hey, why not just turn it over to them?” The move has shocked comic fans globally, but executives for both companies claim the move will mark the dawn of a new era in comic cinema. With Marvel fully taking over the creative direction of the DC universe, producers are confident that the next DC film world will focus more on fun and entertainment, rather than the more serious films to date. Stan Lee will also provide cameos for DC Universe films, and a crossover between the Justice League and the Avengers is already in early stages of development.

“It will be a huge undertaking with a budget of over $350 Million dollars,” said Marvel Studios head Mark Sussudio, “And it will need to have an amazing classic of a villain to fight both the Justice League and the Avengers at the same time. Thankfully, our parent company also owns the rights to Star Wars. That’s right.”

Avengers v Justice League v Darth Vader: Dawn of the Guardians of the Galaxy Far Far Away Part 1: Mirror of Fate is planned for a March 2023 release.

Yellow Diamond's confession, probably
Patti Lupone in Sweeney Todd
Yellow Diamond's confession, probably

While I really believe that Yellow Diamond is innocent in Pink Diamond’s death… I’m having way too much fun reading the theories about Yellow shattering Pink out of jealousy because she wanted Blue Diamond all to herself. :P I’m also reminded that Patti Lupone played the best Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd.

“Yes I lied ‘cause I love you/I’d be twice the wife she was/I love you/Could that thing have cared for you like me?”

COLOUR MAGICK (PART 001)

*Please read the introduction post and important notes HERE  <—-

  • BLACK is good for getting out that dark negativity that sits inside of you. That depression, burning hatred and chaos. Black isn’t a bad colour, in fact it’s a very protective and powerful colour for the witch who uses it! Black is perfect for Karmic work. Basically, if you feel that you’re in trouble or have some negative energy following you around, black is the colour to use.Stones that pair well with this colour I’ve found are black agate, onyx, black tourmaline, obsidian and hematite.

  • CHARCOAL is similar to black in the sense that it is used as a form of protection, I use it to help battle any sad emotions or mundane negativity. This colour is best used if you wake up just in one of those moods that you can’t quite put your finger on, you know? It’s just a little boost of energy protection. Stones that pair well with this are cat’s eye opal and grey quartz.

  • SILVER is used when I need to receive guidance or insight from a spirit guide, communication and when I need help finding something I’ve lost or misplaced! Stones best paired with this colour are hematite, grey moonstone and grey quartz.

  • LIGHT GREY: Personally, I use light grey when working with water or storm magick but, I’ve read others use it for glamour type spells and even fear, so this colour goes all over the place. Whatever magickal energy you feel drawn to use it with/on, go for it. Stones that pair best with this colour are moonstone, russian agate and grey quartz.

  • OFF-WHITE is used to help clear a clouded mind/ judgment; when things feel fuzzy and off and like you’re suffering from a hangover. It’s that solid and opaque grounding colour. Stones that work best with this colour are calcite, howlite, citrine and white jasper.

  • WHITE represents purity, perfection, universal energy and the source/creator/gods/goddesses to me. Used before and after magick work, circle casting and calling for extra personal healing from your guides. Stones that pair best with this colour energy are diamonds, opal and clear quartz.

PART ONE:

When we were younger, Luke and I would hide from our parents in the tree house that was in my backyard.

We would sneak off after filling our plates with food climb up the wooden ladder to the top. We would always get in trouble because we knew we had to eat at the table. That would result in luke getting sent home but we would do it again the next day.

That was also the same tree house luke fell out of when we were 8 while racing to the top. I was the first person to sign his cast when he got home from the hospital.

Luke and I have been best friends practically since birth. It was weird being grown up and living on our own. Luke was going to a university close to his apartment while I just finished my program for the art.

Calum, Ashton and Michael who Luke and I met in secondary school were another one of the best things that’s ever happened to me. They knew how to have a good time, we were constantly getting into trouble. It was the kind of trouble that made you feel like you were really living.

None that really got us in trouble. Except for the time we all snuck into the aquarium and quickly set off the alarm. Michael took the fall for that one, he got arrested while all of us had already ran blocks away.

“Hello?” Someone waves their hand in front of my face.

I snaps me out of my thoughts and back into reality, which was Ashton’s basement with the boys.

And Arzaylea. Who was standing in front of me.

“Do you have any mascara with you?” She asks me.

I can hear Michael chuckle and I look at the other boys.

“No. Sorry.” I say shortly.

I wasn’t the type of girl who wore make up. I could never get it right and I just didn’t see the need for it. It’s not like I didn’t keep up on my looks. I plucked my eyebrows obsessively and always make sure to do my hair but that’s about as much effort as you’re getting from me.

She clicks her tongue, frowning slightly before take a seat next to Luke. They have been dating for almost two months now. We were friendly with each other because she is dating my best friend and Luke wouldn’t let her be any other way. But her and I have never really connected.

I slightly feel like it’s that was with all the boys as well but Luke. If Luke ever leaves the room, even for just a second it’s very awkward when she is in here.

“Can I borrow some lipstick.” Calum leans over to me, using his high pitched voice to mock Arzaylea.

I laugh quietly before smack his arm. Michael and Ashton are playing FIFA while calum and I make conversation trying not to pay much attention to Arzaylea and Luke who are bickering about going out to dinner tonight.

“I’ve got a big test tomorrow. I can’t be out late tonight.” Luke says annoyed.

“Yeah, why would I even think we would do something nice like that. Whenever we hang out it’s always with your friends. When are we going to have spend some time together. You know? As a couple!?” She says back to him.

I can’t help myself from listening in to their conversation. Luke and I never really talk about her. They haven’t been really getting along lately but none of us really mind because she isn’t the best to be around.

“We will. Just not tomorrow.” Luke looks like he’s paying more attention to the game then her which would make me upset too.

“Whatever. I’m going home.” She gets up and Luke sighs. He looks like he’s about to stop her but we make eye contact and I shake my head. “Bye guys.” She says to all of us before walking upstairs.

“God Luke! I just feel like, you don’t even like me anymore!” Calum uses the same voice to mock her again.

Saying it just loud enough so I can hear. I try to stifle my laugh but like notices and glances at me. My face turns red as he raises his eyebrows in confusion and I shrug.

The boys and I hang out until it gets dark. Calum and Michael end up staying the night while Luke and I head home. I offer to give him a ride back and he gratefully accept.

“So you’re coming to my first art Debut right?” I ask him as I drive the winds back to his apartment.

“Of course.” He smiles at me. His blue eyes taking my mind off the road until I feel the shaking of the divider under my wheels. I redirect my car back into my lane and he laughs.

I apologize embarrassed but he just blows it off. We learned to drive together, I think we have both seen the most embarrassing moments we’ve had.

A few short minutes later I pull up to his green apartment building that catty corners an old market we use to spend all of our money on candy at.

“Do you have time to come in?” He asks and I look at the time. It’s not even dinner time yet and I love spending time with Luke.

Lately we haven’t really gotten best friend time because of the other boys and Arzaylea. I nod and pull into a parking spot.

His apartment is just as I remember it. The living room and kitchen were very neat, almost untouched. As soon as you stepped foot in his bedroom it’s like a bomb had gone off, dishes and clothes everywhere.

I smile and pick up a picture of us from graduation. His arm is hooked over my shoulder and our smiles are real. His blond hair is peaking out from his cap while I complained that day about how I looked bald. He has just gotten his lip pierced and loved how it looked.

We went together to the shop, I got my nose pierced while he got his lip.

Things seemed the same but they were also much different. Luke changed a lot after he met Arzaylea, he took out his lip piercing and was a lot quieter. I almost feel like he is unhappy but then I’ll see him and her together and he will look like he is enjoying himself.

I set the frame down and Luke shoves a controller in my hand. I smile at him, “Why even try Hemmings? I kick your butt every time.” I smile before jumping on the couch and taking a seat. He puts in the FIFA soccer game that he can never quite seem to beat me at.

“Let’s just say I’ve got a good feeling about this.” He sits next to me.

After while of playing I have to stand to me feet because the restriction of standing is too much with the pressure.

“No. No!” I yell as he gets a penalty shoot-out which will win him the game. He makes it and jumps up in joy, I fall to my knees.

He laughs while standing over me, I glare at him playfully before trying to kick him. He grabs my foot and I try to wiggle it free. He just watched in amusement as I flop like a fish out of water.

I finally give up, my hair sprawled all over my face. He still holds onto my leg, a last attempt to make sure I don’t kick him. I just lay there, attempting to smooth out my unruly hair.

I start to feel a bit uncomfortable when Luke’s eyes are locked on me. He seemed to be in his own little world but his gaze was fixed on me.

I wiggle my leg, “Can I have this back?” I smile.

He seems to return to present day before letting go of my leg.

“For now.” He smiles, almost flirting with me.

I shake that idea out of my head. He doesn’t see me that way. He told me he really likes Arzaylea. We haven’t talked about her in a couple weeks but he sees me as his best friend. Nothing more.

I wish I could say the same. Since grade 10 I started thinking Luke was attractive. We were each other’s first kiss in grade 6 but that was just to get it over with.

I started really liking him the grade we graduated. I started seeing qualities in him that I wanted in a boyfriend.

He met Arzaylea a couple months after graduation and by the way he looked at her I knew. It got even worse, seeing how good of a boyfriend he could be broke my heart.

So I let it go. Tried to just see him as a friend and not make it obvious. I guess I wasn’t doing as good of a job as I thought be the other boys found out soon after.

He kicks me lightly, still leaning over me. “Get up before I spit on you.” He jokes.

Spit dangles from his mouth and I open my mouth jokingly.

He starts laughing and I move out of the way just on time. The spit hits the floor and i quickly stand to my feet.

“Lucas!” I gasp at how close he actually was to spitting on me.

He doubles over in laughter. His hair, that has gotten quite a bit longer, falls into his eyes. I smile, his laughter is very contagious. I start laughing as well.

“What’s so funny?” I question even my own laughter.

He looks over at me, taking a deep breath of air in before laughing again.

It’s impossible not to laugh with him.

I push him over and he lands on the couch. Soon enough he pulls himself together, swiping a tear away from the corner of his eye.

“Come on. You know my spit has been in your mouth before.” He chuckles again.

“Not on purpose. You do have a habit of spitting when you talk though.” I cross my arms.

“Oh yeah. What about grade 6?” He brings up our first kiss.

I scoff, “Please. That barely counted, it was closed mouthed and lasted like half a second.” I try to play off how much that actually meant to me.

Luke and I kissed, he wanted to kiss me.

He shrugs and stands to his feet, yawning.

“You’ve got a test tomorrow. I’ll let you study and get some good sleep.” I start gathering up my things.

“Agh, I don’t want to study. I want to hang out with you.” His whining makes me smile.

I know I mean a lot to him but I worried when Arzaylea come into his life that another girl would be put in front of me. It sounds selfish but it’s really relieving to know he didn’t want to go out to dinner with his girlfriend but wants me to stay and hang out.

“Goodbye, Luke. I’ll see you tomorrow.” I smile, putting my hand on his shoulder before exiting his apartment. The air outside is cool but it’s light and easy to breathe.

I walk out to my car and glance back up to his apartment while unlocking the door. He is standing in the doorway, leaning against the doorframe.

His eyes are watching me from across the parking lot. He smiles widely and waves at me. I start my car and wave at him while driving away.

PART TWO IS COMING OUT SHORTLY! ❤

Happy Birthday Harry Shum Jr. (April 28, 1982)

“Every project I work on makes me feel like I am on the right track because I’m getting paid doing what I love to do. I view each film and show I get to work on as a small dent in the universe that hopefully makes some sort of impact to someone somewhere. So I guess in a way, whatever current project I’m working on reminds me that I am on the right track.”

Drama Kisses ( Aren’t Real ) // Mark Lee

You rolled your eyes as you retrieved your books from your locker, then shut the door with a slam and looked at her; “I’ve already told you, it’s just a stage kiss. It doesn’t mean anything.” You explained, but she didn’t even bat an eyelash.

“Yea, you say that, but I know in your heart that you WANT it to mean something.” She pressed on, giving you a wink.

You ignored the pink hue that had tinted your cheeks. and started trudging to the next class you had.Just like always, your friend was right.

Drama, and acting were your passion. You loved to take on different roles, each more exciting or thrilling than the last.

And coincidentally, so did your not-so-little crush, Mark Lee.

He wasn’t the most popular guy in school, no he was that guy’s best friend. Popular nonetheless, just not as much.

He had a very calming aura that could make even the tensest person relax, and it drew people to him, including you.

You both had been in the same drama class since freshman year, and had been in a fair amount of plays, and musicals together.

However, in those shows, there had never been a time where you both had the two leading male and female roles.

This time it was different. Your school was putting on a production of Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.

It was one of your all time favorites, and you just knew that you wanted to be Juliet.

You had put your heart, and soul into the audition, impressing your teacher, and causing fury, and jealously to bubble in the stomachs of the other girls auditioning.

After your performance, you stepped down from the stage, and went back to the dressing rooms to collect your bag and some books. When you stepped out, a voice startled you.

“You were amazing up there, I could feel your passion.” Mark said, leaning against the wall, with his hands lazily shoved in the pockets of his worn out ripped jeans.

He offered you a shy smiled, which you returned. “Thanks, I just hope it was good enough to land me the part.” You replied, a light blush grazing your cheeks as Mark began to walk with you, making your heart pound.

“If you don’t get it, I’ll smack the teacher myself. You really deserve it.” He grinned playfully.

A giggle slipped past your lips before you could stop it and you looked down bashfully at the floor. “Thank you, again. It really means a lot to me.” You said quietly.

Mark stopped outside of the boys dressing room. “No problem, and who knows, maybe I’ll be your Romeo.” He said slyly, before entering the room, letting the door shut behind him.

If you had been blushing before, it was nothing compared to the deep tomato color you were at that moment.

As fate works in wonderful ways, you did end up receiving the role of Juliet. And seeing as how the universe likes to mess with people’s lives, Mark had been given the part of Romeo.

All the girls had given you dirty looks the moment the cast list was posted, but you brushed them off.

With your best friend by your side, you nervously scanned the list for your name.

Y/N L/N – Juliet

Your friend squealed, and crushed you in a hug. You were beyond happy of course, but something threw you off. It was the name below yours.

Mark Lee – Romeo

All of a sudden, Mark was beside you, running his eyes down the list with his posse behind him.

Once he saw his name, he grinned widely and turned to his friends.

“I got the part!” He yelled, excitement twinkling is his eyes. His best friend, Donghyuck, fist bumped him and looked at the list himself while the rest of their group congratulated him.

“Oh lookie here! Mark gets to lock lips with Y/N!” He smirked at you, and Mark shoved him.

“Shut up man, leave her alone.” He said quietly as he dragged the younger boy to the door, flashing you an apologetic smile before exiting the room with the others following.

Your best friend nudged your ribs. “Funny how the world works huh? C'mon, let’s go celebrate.” She said, and you allowed her to pull you to the exit.

When the day of the play finally arrived, you were more nervous than you ever had been for a show.

Rehearsals were more calm, but this time, it was for real.

Meaning, you and Mark would actually kiss.

During practice, your lips never touched, just hovered because the director said it was “bad luck”.

Your palms were sweaty and you couldn’t stop your hands from tugging at the collar of the dress you had on.

The theater was already packed full when you peeked from backstage.

You could see your parents, friends, and even your grandparents. A hand grabbing your shoulder snapped you back into reality and you came face to face with the devil himself.

Mark’s face held a steady grin. “Are you ready?” He asked giddily, bouncing on his heels.

All the saliva dried from your tongue, so you found yourself nodding instead of speaking.

“Well, break a leg out there! You’re gonna do great!"His encouraging words made your confidence boost up a bit and you let out the breath you didn’t notice you were holding.

"Thanks, you too.” Was your response.

The lights went down and the blinding spot lights flashed. Taking a deep breath, you gathered as much courage as you could, then walked out.

-

Soon the play was nearing an end, and the time for the kiss scene was close.

The heart beat in your chest was beating erratically while you desperately tried to hype yourself up in your head.

The feelings of nervousness and excitement were swirling around in the pit of your stomach, making you dizzy.

Mark stepped towards you, and gently cupped your cheeks, treating you as if you were made of the most fragile glass, the familiar motion bringing back memories from previous rehearsals.

Almost like he could sense the anxious vibes radiating off your body, Mark flashed a quick smile, before leaning towards you.

Your hands rested on his shoulders, and you prayed that you weren’t squeezing them in a death grip.

After what felt like years but was only seconds, your lips finally came in contact with Mark’s.

They were plush, soft, and tasted faintly of his vanilla chapstick.

You willed all those shaky feelings from your mind, and really put all your passion into the kiss.

Mark felt like he was floating, not knowing you felt the same.

He almost forgot that you both were just acting, and slowly pulled away, savoring every last second.

As the scene came to an end, and loud applause erupted from the audience, he knew he wouldn’t forget the taste of your strawberry lip gloss.

Backstage was less hectic and busy than before the show, but all the actors and actresses were buzzing in happiness. “Good job all of you! That was spectacular!” The director said, causing the cast to cheer for all their hardwork.

Mark was looking around until he finally spotted you, changed into your casual clothes while talking to your best friend.

He walked over in a rush, just as your friend had gone. “Uh…h-hey.” He stuttered out, mentally slapping himself.

Lucky for him, you smiled and sat up straighter. “Hi.”

Awkwardly rubbing the back of his head, he struggled to find his words. “That kiss was…really something. I could feel the emotion.” He complimented, watching as your cheeks flushed.

“Well, that means I’m a good actress right?” You asked playfully.

“Of course! You’re one of the best actresses I’ve ever seen!” Mark said, not realizing what he said until he said it.

His words made your heart flutter and soar even higher in the cloud you felt you were on. Your lips still tingled from the kiss.

“Funny how something that looks real, means nothing.” You let out, looking away.

Mark frowned a bit.

“It meant something to me…” he mumbled shyly.

Your eyes were saucers when you heard him. “Really?!”

He only nodded, clearly embarrassed. “Yea, I mean I’ve only had a crush on you since 9th grade, so…” he explained with a shrug.

Pink dusted over his face and spread to the tips of his ears.

“Well then, why don’t we hang out sometimes. Maybe we can practice some lines together?” You suggested, a bright grin glued onto your face.

He met your eyes and nodded eagerly. “Y-Yea that sounds great!”

“And to think I was so nervous about a kiss…” you thought to yourself

After all, who said drama kisses mean nothing?
