He didn’t need molded plastic to improve his physique. #PureWest. RIP to everyone’s first Batman. The funniest Batman. The most cool, calm and collected Batman. And certainly the Batman with the best dance moves. #AdamWest #BrightKnight
Oh. I guess you’re only familiar with the new “Batman” movies. Michelle Pfeiffer… ha! The only true “Catwoman” is Julie Newmar, Lee Merriwether, or Eartha Kitt. And I didn’t need molded plastic to improve my physique. [tapping chest] Pure. West. And how come Batman doesn’t dance anymore? Remember the Batusi?
And we know that he’s not averse to a little disco every now and then:
Actually, he really likes disco:
And has a good working knowledge of funk:
(Yes, random guy, “Yikes” indeed lol lol lol)
Those are in the comics (Wonder Woman #166, Wonder Woman #273, Wonder Woman ‘77 #1, Wonder Woman ‘77 #23). In *my* headcanon which holds no weight, his favorite song is Van Morrison’s “Tupelo Honey” because, you know, references to America, freedom, love, and angels. Thanks for the question!
it’s funny, I’m not usually the type to send actors gifts, but after Colin mentioned the SDCC Batusi Batman in the Josh Horowitz Happy/Sad/Confused podcast, I thought I would go for it. It was pretty easy to find (thx ebay!) I had to wait a loooong time for the hiatus to end and hope he would be back in the studio (I sent to him via Bridge Studios). So i guess he’s filming at the studio today, lol!
I got nervous because they wouldn’t deliver on Tuesday because I hadn’t listed “Stage 49″ on the address, so I wasn’t sure it would make it all. Woo Hoo! I also threw in one of the last animated films that Burt Ward had voiced, which I had caught a screening of at NYCC last year. I picked up the figure before Burt Ward passed away, and I almost debated just keeping it, but I though Colin would enjoy it more. :D
Okay, i’m going to go frame my tweet and die of happiness nows. <3

@celebrenithil said: *unlurks* I was thinking about Booster and Beetle developing a ridiculous “secret” handshake today… Them doing it for luck before fights they weren’t sure to walk away from and adding a new bit each time so it got longer and more ridiculous as years – and powerful foes – went by. And then for extra bittersweet: Booster teaching it (or at least the start of it) to Jaime…
Takes place after issue 25 of Jaime’s run during the cookout.
“-and then it went into this thing Ted called the ‘Batusi’ which I guess Batman was being really annoying that week? I don’t actually remember.”
Jaime interrupted between spluttered laughter, “This isn’t a handshake, it’s a dance routine!”
Booster laughed himself. He hadn’t had much to drink but, according to Guy, he’d always been a lightweight and was rosy-cheeked anyway. “That was Ted for you. He always managed to turn normal thing ridiculous. Then after that-”
“There’s more?” Jaime fell onto his back, covering his face with his hands. “Tell me you’re joking. Scarab- please tell me he’s joking.”
[Things that are real:] the Scarab told him [the Good Luck, Don’t Die handshake.] It tacked on a glyph that roughly translated to ‘unfortunately’.
Booster sat down next to the teen, the sunglasses he had tucked in the collar of his shirt glinting from the house lights. Most of the party goers had moved inside but a couple had stayed in the yard to enjoy El Paso’s night breeze.
“How long were you guys adding to that? And how did you memorize it?”
“How long did we keep that up?” Booster asked himself, leaning back to look at the few stars that managed to peek through the light pollution. “Damn near twenty years, I think.”
“Twenty years…” He’d known Paco all his life and even that didn’t measure up to the time Booster and Ted spent together. He couldn’t imagine what it would be like to have Paco violently taken away from him like that. He didn’t want to.
But there was Booster. Still. Talking about Ted with more heartbreak than nostalgia in his eyes. Jaime didn’t know how anyone could dismiss him when he was still so obviously hurting.
[Expectations for Booster Gold: always low.] People never looked at Booster deeply because they didn’t think there was anything to find. Jaime bit his lip, wishing he had something he could say.
“Hey, you boys doing alright?” Beatriz asked, sauntering up. The JLIers always made sure to check in on Booster every now and again. That made Jaime relax a bit.
“Yeah. Booster was just showing me this handshake him and Ted used to do.”
“Oh god, that monstrosity? How did it start- hand, elbow, elbow?”
Booster snickered, getting up to perform it with Beatriz and Jaime laughed harder the longer and more ridiculous it got.
