84/100 | Sitting down at 5 pm with tea and a mystery novel is exactly what I want to be doing with my life.
I’m almost finished with The ABC Murders and two stand out moments were a very meta line from Poirot where he says a murder mystery is boring if the only murder happens right away and the rest of the novel is spent going through a list of suspects until you get to the culprit, and another where he tells Hastings how unrealistic Sherlock Holmes is - there’s no way he could know what the murderer looks like based off his actions alone.
“If you could order a crime as one orders a dinner, what would you choose?”
“A very simple crime. A crime with no complications. A crime of quiet domestic life… very unimpassioned — very intime… Supposing, that four people sit down to play bridge and one, the odd man out, sits in a chair by the fire. At the end of the evening the man by the fire is found dead. One of the four, while he is dummy, has gone over and killed him, and intent on the play of the hand, the other three have not noticed. Ah, there would be a crime for you! Which of the four was it?” - Agatha Christie, The ABC Murders
Everyone is making random theories but I just realized.. WHAT IF ANNALISE AND WES WORKED TOGETHER WITH NATE TO FAKE HIS MURDER..HENCE HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER. I mean everyone is forgetting that Annalise obviously wanted Ollie to clear her phone because something important was on there, some proof was on there. Maybe Wes really is in witness protection. Maybe the body they did the autopsy on wasn’t even Wes. Why else would the body go missing.
