thats so annoying

‪i saw a post abt how lance is always quick to call out keith on his bs and i realized that he probably can pick up on those flaws where others can’t because‬ he’s spent so long trying to live up to him. lance is already an incredibly perceptive character, and feeling like he’s always been one step behind keith would understandably lead lance to study keith both as a pilot and a person, and thus pick up on these things where other people couldn’t.

lance probably saw keith making those mistakes and quick/impulsive choices and wondered “how the hell can everyone always be looking at him and yet never see these things?”

Happy #SyndullaSunday with an eversoslightly different photo!

  • Me: *Creates a fanart just for fun and share it online also just for fun*
  • Some random person: *reblogs* I think that doesnt look like the character, you should do the eyes smaller, the color brighter, the hair bigger, the face rounder, the eyes darker and that light is so awful imao...
  • Me: A good tip for you would be asking if the artist would appreciate if you criticize their work.
  • The random person: Do you want more of my opinions?
  • Me: no

so I work at a sdm and we recently got in this plush dog for valentine's day and it has this little button on its paw and when you press it, it tells you cheesy pick up lines in a HORRIBLE french accent. I can 100% see Lance finding this and bugging the hell out of Keith with it omg

oh my god this is so funny bc i was LITERALLY playing with a similar plush dog (maybe the same one?) today bugging the hell out of my coworkers, tag yourself i’m lance

listen i just. alec has his hands behind his back so often and when he doesn’t he’s nearly always stimming with them and it just makes me wonder ???? how many times growing up did maryse snap at him to keep them still until he started just putting them behind his back out of habit to stop himself from ‘fidgeting’ because he was told it was annoying and childish? also i’ve noticed he kinda rocks on his heels sometimes when his hands are behind his back?? like he’s doing that Instead of the hand things so

“I want to take a moment to talk about you and your idea, because it’s something I always need to remember.

“So, you, as a screenwriter of a story that you came up with—you are the only person in the process who will ever truly be alone with that story. You are a mother holding their baby. You are pregnant with it. It’s in your head. No matter how complicated the process of writing it, ultimately it is a piece of you. This is a business and it’s also an art. I always get kinda disgusted when people talk endlessly about the idea that their art is “part of them”—but it is! It is! It’s as part of them as the words coming out of their mouth, as the things they say to their friends, as the things you build with your hands, the food you cook… It’s all a sort of extrapolation of you.

“Even though things can get diluted and get ruined—or never sell—or never make you any money—or come out and do badly—or get torn apart by a director who you thought would be perfect and then betrays you—or get torn apart by critics—or, you know, succeed: always keep in mind that the thing you do when you’re alone, when you’re writing it, when it’s still part of you, is special. That’s special! That’s the act of creation! Not even most humans can do that! So if you wrote something—maybe it sucks. Maybe it’s great. I don’t know. I haven’t read it. Maybe you think it sucks. Maybe you hate it. Maybe you’re like “I hate everything I write!” Maybe you’re one of those people. I don’t get those people, but maybe you’re one of those people. Maybe you’re someone who’s a fanboy of their own stuff. Great! Please never forget, no matter how far you feel from the work, that it started inside you. That’s special. That’s a unique thing. And on some level you should—even if you’re just writing fanfiction for the internet—be proud of that.

Rant about Mon-El and Kara

I am getting so sick of people being hateful towards Mon-el just because he’s from Daxam and should know better than to act the way he does. Have you ever thought about people in our world who grows up in extremely families just like his, who grows up with a set of values that are discriminatory, xenophobic and ethnocentristic. Mon-el grew up in a world were slavery was the norm, he was socialised into believing their way of living was the right way, and that he was “helping” slaves not harming them. You heard his parents, this is the way he grew up and according to every sociology book and  text I have read about this, your family’s values will rub off on you, and it will sit deep. Yet when he came to earth he tried and still tries so hard to learn to be a better person. He shows time and again that even though Daxam’s values are still engraved in him, he is willing to learn and change, just how a person who grew up in a very racist or homophobic environment can learn to reject those views and be more open to things that they previously wouldn’t.

I would also like to address that Kara is not close to perfect either, and she shows the same signs as mon-el of struggling to let go of the values installed in her as a child, of how Daxamites are inferior to Kryptonians. She shows clear signs of ethnocentrism where she puts her own values on top and judges everyone else based on her values rather than the circumstances and cultures they grew up in. One example his how she can’t understand why he doesn’t want to be a hero, or how she never stop to think “okay he woke up on a planet completely different from his own and he is trying to adapt. I had 10+ years to adapt, maybe I should give him some time and cut him some slack at least for the first months”.  (and no i’m not excusing the fact that he lied to her and at times acts like a sexist dick, that is wrong but also understandable considering the circumstances.)

I don’t care if it’s him or Lena who ends up with Kara, as they are both very cool characters who are both quite similar and very different. What I care about is that you notice that Mon-el can be a symbol for all the people who live in places or in environments like his. He teacher us that you can always be a better version of yourself, and you are allowed to start over and reevaluate your life choices. You can be better, if it is for someone else or just for yourself.

Can I just remind people that many bisexual and pansexual people, myself included, use gay as an umbrella term for all people attracted to the same sex and we use it as a descriptor for our and everyone’s same sex attraction because it’s specific to that part of our identity. So please stop policing me for using gay to describe my and characters’ same sex attraction. Using gay as an umbrella term is not the same as invalidating and erasing a bi/pansexual person’s identity.

So at least on my dash, nobody ever drags the xxTPs, so I'mma do it really fast bc y'all really piss me off from time to time.

Like would it kill you to NOT critique rules from time to time trying to find all the damn loopholes? Like pls can u not. LIKE SURPRISINGLY JUST BC SOMETHING DOESN’T MAKE SENSE TO YOU DOESN’T MEAN IT’S NOT SENSIBLE IN THE LONG RUN?? Like is it so hard to realize that if you take into account EVERY SINGLE tiny ass thing you guys pick out, nothing would ever get done???

Rules, laws, procedures, etc, they’re there to make things easier. And like?? Honestly fuck you, ExTPs? Stop blatantly doing the loophole thing that the rules don’t cover just because you can. Y'all are so damn full of acting like a dick while not coming up with PROPER SOLUTIONS. And you, IxTPs? Just stop. You may not outwardly defy the untold laws, but you still don’t come up with solutions like the shut in you are.

Keep to your own crap and leave laws alone.

About the ship wars on this fandom (ღ˘⌣˘ღ) ♫・*:.。. .。.:*・

Seriously guys, why don’t you just use your energy and love to create content to your OWN ship(s) and characters you like instead of using it to HATE and talk shit about the others??!!! Please??!! Thank you!!!??

Ugh. One of my least favourite tropes in fiction is Good Guy Gaslighting.

You know the drill. Heroic Main Character is part of some Underground World (hidden society of vampires/clones/faerie etc) that needs to be kept Top Secret.

Then oblivious Side Character (most often love interest), who is kept in the dark for Their Own Safety starts to catch glimpses of the Secret World. Maybe they see someone survive an attack that should have killed them, maybe they see someone do magic. Whatever it is, they freak out, and go to The Main Character to tell them this crazy thing they’ve seen.

And of course, of course, the Main Character who Knows Best and is doing it For Their Own Safety, assures them that they were seeing things, and totally mistaken, and it’s OK, they’re not crazy, but maybe they just need to take it easy?

And so it continues for however many episodes the writers decide to drag out the ‘let’s watch this character believe they’re going mad as the main character deliberately encourage that perception for their own ends’.

I just hate it so much because it is, at the core of it, gaslighting. It’s deliberate, cruel gaslighting but because it’s done For Their Own Safety by the Heroic Main Character, it’s never condemned and is regularly used as a plot device.
