that's totally what he's saying

I've been seeing some stuff lately (not here on tumblr, but elsewhere) about ppl claiming Yona doesn't deserve to be with Hak... like that she hasn't done enough for him to earn his affections or to be in a relationship with him. Idk it made me mad so I was wondering what your thoughts are about it?

‘Kay. I got this ask a while ago and couldn’t quite decide how to form an answer, so please bear with me as I try to put my thoughts into words.

The entire idea that Yona needs to prove herself in some way or another to be worthy of Hak’s affections, to me, is ridiculous. For one, people fall in love for many different reasons, and just because Yona was a bit of an airhead and not a badass when Hak liked her shouldn’t mean squat. If Hak liked Yona for such a long time he obviously saw something in her that he appreciated and wanted to pursue. That’s his choice, so people making out like Yona needs to be someone worthy of affection or something are likely disregarding that Hak fell for her because, to him, she was worthy of his affection. Now, I get that a simple response here is that, “oh but Yona didn’t like him back so it wasn’t good for him to like her, etc.”, but again I think this has no root as Yona wasn’t aware of Hak’s feelings. She never led him on or toyed with him, she simply liked someone else, Hak never let her know how he felt, and she therefore never viewed Hak as a love interest. Hak himself knew this and still chose to like her and not move on. That to me puts all these “not worthy” complaints on him. He could have moved on to someone “more worthy of his time” but he didn’t. That was his choice.

From a different light, and after Yona flees the castle and Hak starts to be more open with his feelings, I feel that perhaps some people who hold this thought don’t so much think that Yona doesn’t deserve Hak, but rather that because she didn’t return his feelings right from the get-go that there’s an imbalance and “Hak loves her more”, or “she hasn’t contributed as much to their relationship”, or [insert similar thing here]. In response to this I just… arg, I dunno, it just seems silly to think that Yona has something to make up for. Yona just… wasn’t too into Hak in that way at the start of the series and both have had to grow to reach the stage they are at now in their relationship. People are allowed to not like other people romantically, even if said person is super nice and would love them unconditionally. That’s called having a choice. And Yona is allowed to not like Hak’s sometimes iffy advances and tell him to stop. She is also allowed to start developing deeper feelings when the two begin to grow and mature together as they face different trials and support one another.

I just… don’t see where the idea of “deserving someone” comes into this at all. Hak and Yona are just two people who have realised that they enjoy each other’s company and support in a deeper way than friendship and as such have started to grow closer romantically. Yes, Hak has dedicated his life to being her guard and has supported her for a long time even though one could argue he didn’t get out of it what he wanted (that is, Yona’s interest) but again, that was his choice. I’m not trying to defend that it was the right choice, but blaming Yona for his choice and then thinking she needs to make up for it just goes over my head. I really don’t get it.

something that bothers me a lot is the fact that we don’t talk enough about what dean said to sam in 8x22 - sacrifice. he blamed sam for ruby, starting the apocalypse, losing his soul and for not looking for him when he was in purgatory.

so, let’s start this.

RUBY - you can’t blame sam for this. not entirely. this was a fucking plan between the demon who was holding dean’s contract and the demon who tried to “save” dean of that contract. she knew exactly were to hit when dean sold his soul, and she took that oportunity to manipulate sam.

also, sam was completely vulnerable when dean died, because let’s remember that he had to watch him being brutally murdered by those hellhounds and then take dean’s bloody body, take off the samulet, clean his body, change his clothes and bury him but pff details. then, the only thing that kept him “sane” was hunting down lilith and his desire of killing her. aaand also, everyone made him believe that killing her would stop the apocalypse. ruby was the only one giving him answers that could satisfy his revenge desire and his broken heart. there’s no doubt why he turned to her when things got a little bit too rough.

THE APOCALYPSE - one of my favourite topics no it’s not, i’m lying. so, as far as everyone knew, killing lilith was supposed to stop the apocalypse from actually happening, right? that was what sam, dean and bobby believed all along.

as i said before, sam was manipulated by ruby. she made him an actual drug addict. dean expected sam to quit it in such an easily way. like “hey sammy how bout you stopping drinking demon blood” when he found out how dangerous it was. what did he expect sam to do?? ? say “lol true not doing it anymore fuck this shit thank u deen”?? ? no. it wasn’t that easy. and i completely understand dean not understanding the whole demon blood think which was bad from the beginning and i know it, but sam was manipulated by everyone but he wasn’t trying to either.

then, they locked sam up in bobby’s panic room. bobby said that they may need him to kill lilith and stop the apocalypse, but they didn’t actually released sam. then, castiel came and opened up the door so sam would start the fucking apocalypse without him getting his own celestial hands dirty. he knew that the very first thing that sam would do, would be going after ruby so they could, together, kill lilith and stop the apocalypse.

cas only said something when the guilt was too much. and he didn’t even thought in trying to communicate with sam— he immediately went to dean to tell him that lilith was the last seal. of course, you go tell the one who couldn’t do much by himself instead of the one with psychic powers. super fucking logical.

if castiel wouldn’t have told dean this, he and bobby would have gone straight where lilith was and done everything they could to kill her. everyone knows that. but hey, if dean were the one that accidentally started the apocalypse, it would be forgotten by now.

LOSING HIS SOUL - there is literally nothing to say in here like how the actual fuck do you blame him for something that was absolutely and completely out of his hands?? ? he was fucking dead for god’s sake.

PURGATORY - i hate having to explain this, but people seem to not be able to make the connection.

so, we all know that almost every single thing that the brothers had to investigate, they used bobby’s books, don’t we?

well, what happened to those books? — oh, right, dick burned them all. and killed bobby on his way out.

sam literally had no idea what to do, and also he was completely alone. dean was gone. cas was gone. bobby was gone. EVERY SINGLE PERSON THAT COULD’VE HELPED SAM WAS DEAD. also, the brothers made a promise— if one of them died, the other one wouldn’t try to bring him back. and as long as sam knew, dean kept that promise back in s6.

and let’s remember that there wasn’t much information about purgatory at all. sam never got to really understand the whole eve thing and the souls, so he didn’t have a clue of where they could have gone. as far as he knew, both dean and castiel were dead. all he saw was a room full of that black thing.

so, what were you expecting? his whole family was dead. he had no one to turn to. and oh, there was no woman waiting for him. also, he was vulnerable again. let’s remember that sam had to watch his brother die in more than a hundred ways, and now?? he just only disappeared into thin air. no fucking closure. what were you expecting sam to do? immediately know what happened and search “purgatory” in duckduckgo?? mmnope. he was fucking alone and homeless and clueless and it’s totally understandable why he didn’t look for dean, and why he stayed with the very first person who made his life have a little bit of sense.

To be, or not to be...

Something else interesting to note about Sherlock and Molly, and who they ‘pretend’ to be in the real world:

Sherlock only likes himself when he’s something he’s not.  When he’s dressed up in his detective identity.  He hates himself, or is terribly uncomfortable, as anything else.

Molly is only not herself one time in the series, during the Christmas episode.  She dressed up in a ‘costume’, to try and be something she really wasn’t.  It’s the only time we see her look completely and utterly uncomfortable.

In TEH, when Sherlock shyly asks Molly to come and participate in a case with him, she asks him what John usually does.  By this point, Sherlock knows Molly.  He remembers the last time she was at 221B, trying so hard to be someone she wasn’t, for him.  This time, he makes sure she knows all he wants is for her to be herself. “You’re not being John, you’re being yourself.”

Molly is only comfortable when she’s herself.  Something I think Sherlock admires greatly about her.

Sherlock is never comfortable, never okay when he’s himself…except when he’s with Molly.

Sherlock trusting Molly enough to be himself with her is in itself a kind of love. It’s not an everyday romantic kind of love, but I think for Molly, it’s worth far more than any dinner date or night at the pub.  To her, it’s pure diamonds.

I'm not saying that Arthur's signature wrist twirl he does with his sword is also what makes his handjobs the best handjobs ever except that's totally what I'm saying and if you asked Merlin he would probably say it too

my dude, words cannot express how much i loved getting this ask :p not only because it’s my first merthur ask but also because…. probably yes? i sent it to @clotpolesonly and this convo ensued haha

isaac: now i’m just imagining arthur making merlin REALLY FRUSTRATED by twirling his sword as much as he can during practice and being generally sweaty and attractive
and then gradually it becomes a thing he does which is really distracting in situations that are actually life-threatening arthur, i’m serious, you need to stop doing that

jess: i cannot have a sexual pavlovian response to a fighting technique you use regularly in actual fights for your life, it’s highly inconvenient

isaac: arthur, no really, stop laughing, i can’t fuck you if you’re dead you prat
(seriously, arthur is impossible when it comes to merlin. merlin was right when he said protecting arthur wouldn’t work because the idiot refuses to actually pay attention to the bandits with swords and instead focuses on doing as much twirls as possible. merlin is going to kill him if he doesn’t murder himself first)

.0.)/ What made you make Trent a big douchbag and why hasn't Emilo beaten his shit in yet (not saying he deserves it even though he total does and that's exactly what I'm saying)? I'm so sorry I keep sending you asks and I'm sure it's probably annoying af I'm sorry but you're so awesome I can't help but wanna ask you stuff!

You’re fine you’re not annoying!! And I can’t answer why Trent is a douchebag yet :))) I can say most of it is just his personality – he’s mostly just an ass.

Emilio hasn’t beaten him because he’s trying his best to not be violent like Rocco. He doesn’t want to be as bad as Trent, so he’s trying to give him a chance to talk. That isn’t directly said in the comic but now you know!

He’s so angry, like, all the time. Scary bird man.

(You know the thing artists do where they imitate the person’s face as they draw them? Shun’s rage is very tiring to draw.)
