Book Collage based on ‘Anna and the French Kiss’ by naturallysteph (Stephanie Perkins)

Lola/Isla will hopefully come at some point, hopefully.

You can see the rest of my book collages HERE

It’s finally done! I am happy to present the reference sheet for Lola! Ta-dah!

I had a fun time working on this and working out exactly how to design her once and for all. I’m happy with how it came out and i hope people will draw her. :)

We’re kissing, at first quickly - to make up for lost time - and then slowly, because we have all the time in the world.

Things I love about the French-dubbed version of Robotboy:
  • The voices of The Cutie Squad: Robotboy, Robotgirl, Lola, Tommy, and Bjorn **who’s French VA manages to make him sound Scandinavian still** <3
  • Superactivated Robotboy can friggen talk (’Robotbgirl’, ‘Double Tommy’)
  • The pronunciations of words that weren’t translated into French (jumbo jet)
  • How Robotboy’s nickname ‘Ro’ is translated into what sounds like ‘Robbie/Robie’ and how presh it sounds when Tommy and Lola say it!! ;3333;
  • Robotboy saying ‘Lola’ and ‘Tommy’ (how he pronounces both in English is equally as adorable <3 Loh-la/Toh-me)
  • Superactivated Robotboy talking
  • “Tommy ami, meilleur ami” is a friggen adorable phrase <3
  • Protoboy’s voice alfhajsh it changed like 3 times, like in the English-dub
  • “RobotBjorn” alksdh BB ALSO SOUNDS ADORABLE ALGKH
  • The G-Man is translated into “Super-Gus”, though the pronunciation sounds like “Super-Goose” <’3

❝ How pathetic, to be harassing such a sweet young lady like her. Honestly, have men forgotten how to treat women with respect? You can make your interests clear WITHOUT being a revolting little creep. Ugh, absolutely disgusting. ❞

I never walked the party line, doesn't mean that I was never afraid.I'm not your hero, but that doesn't mean we're not one and the same.
Sometimes it feels like the side that I'm on plays the toughest hand, holds the longest stand.Sometimes it feels like I'm all that they've got. It's so hard to know I'm not what they want. (x)(x)(x)

Of all the characters in Carmilla, Perry perhaps presents as the least “heroic.” Nevertheless, she shows an entirely different kind of bravery, one that doesn’t include such things as stakes and war paint and grand gestures. One that’s much more human. We watch her cling to her comfort zone in the midst of an ungovernable world, and later watch her overcome intense anxiety, doubt, and fear in order to take action when she knows she must. If she’s proved one thing this season, it’s that the people she loves and cares about are worth far more than “normality.” As LaF would say, that’s hardcore.

Perry’s not the hero. But that doesn’t mean that she wasn’t brave.

I love watching LaF and Perry. Just like, my queer little self is totes thrilled with the Hollstein “stargazing”, but the whole LaFerry dynamic gets me right in the feels.

Perry’s all, I hate change but you need me to understand so I’m gonna learn and I’ll be the voice of caution when you need one and I watched over you when you were pod-peopled and I never want to lose you again so if you want to light things on fire I’m gonna be there with an extinguisher and a band aid.

Laf’s all, I’ll be patient, probably make a joke and if that doesn’t help I’m not going anywhere even if you snap at me and it hurts and I will stitch you up and club soda or burn shit or follow you to hell and back because you’re you and I’m me and that’s just the way it’s meant to be.

It’s the way it’s been since they were kids.  LaF and Perry.  Both fierce in their own way.  Both having each other’s backs.

That’s love, too.  Whatever way you ship it.
