that james is holding

And just a second ago James was *still* questioning Lena’s motives & holding her last name against her. What a -TERRIBLE- foundation for a relationship. And this “protection” line which I’m sure is meant to gloss that over - smacks of paternalism, which the James character is always on the verge of falling into. Not sure if this show knows how to write a healthy straight romance? Maybe that’s too “boring” for them?

like, on one hand, i can enjoy two people coming together and learning to grow and change their opinions about each other. i really can. and if that’s what happens here then, okay, fine. cuz i agree, right now, this makes no sense, and there’s no foundation and no trust. but, if they can work to a place of mutual understanding and respect, ok. OR, if they can’t, and they end up back at odds and breaking up, also fine. not all romances will be good matches. HOWEVER, the point still stands: A) that was the major failure with the mon-el/kara storyline, so…we ALREADY HAD two people at odds coming together and it sucked and B) i’m not sure how well ANY of this will translate on screen, which is why i’m just… not super excited about it. it has nothing to do with supercorp, or even straight relationships at all. i don’t mind straight relationships - i’m all about characters! but we’re dealing with subpar development, you know? that’s where i’m approaching this from. i think you are too

  • Snape: Mr. Potter, why don't you read first?
  • Harry: Alright, Chapter 1; Surviving your fascist Potions Professor who needs to put kids down to feel big.
  • Harry: Oh wow! This is useful guys, we should read on!

I have his true friendship, and so he’s going to have mine. And as long as that is true, I cannot imagine what is possible.
