thanks for showing this again

Let’s be really real this morning before 7 am: if The Get Down was about the (white) history of Rock n Roll in the 70’s and starred white teens, a lot more people would’ve been like “OH THIS IS SO COOL, MUSIC HISTORY” and Netflix would’ve marketed it differently. Tumblr would’ve lost its mind if Dizzee Kipling was a white kid who thinks he’s an alien who is in love with white Thor. Mylene and the Soul Madonnas being an all-girl rock band would’ve been a huge draw. Merch would’ve been everywhere. Coming of age for a moody poet and his reckless and troubled friend trying to make it big with the music they love? They would’ve eaten it up.

This tea isn’t even piping.

Thank you Mark

@markiplier thank you doing that video about taking the ADD test thing you showed me that I may in fact have a some degree of it.

I even talked to my dad about me having it later on today and he said that I had been tested 5 or so years ago and that we can get myself tested again, if I wanted.
So thank you for showing me something about myself that I didn’t know I hope that because of this that I can get help that I desperately need. Let’s just hope that I can still be tested at my age, which is now 22.

They didn’t understand it, but like so many unfortunate events in life, just because you don’t understand it doesn’t mean it isn’t so.

City made of thin glass
Smoldering in pitch black
Sand so thick you can’t see the stars
Can’t tell good and evil apart

We feel warmth in the cold corners
Eyes in the back of our heads
We roll out when the day’s over,
Chasing silhouettes

Markiplier's live show

Dear @markiplier @crankgameplays Bob, Tyler, and @lordminion
I just go done seeing Mark’s live show. It was really amazing and funny. I would go and see it again in a heart beat. They had a mix of every thing and it was truly amazing. The entire cast did a wonderful job. The Fan interaction was great. If they were to do this again, I would enjoy everybody to go and watch them. It was great experience that I somehow to make an impact as a fan just attending can make. Thank you Mark, Wade, Ethan, Bob, and Tyler. Your show was incredible and a night to remember.
Thank you again for amazing night.
Love,
A fan who lives in Detroit

P.S. The cake is never worth it

My First Pride

I’ve been out as asexual since 2008, but until today, I’ve never dared to go to Pride. I didn’t think I’d be welcome. Boy, was I in for a nice surprise when I took the plunge and went to Dallas Pride today.

You could find almost every kind of flag on the steps of this church in the hours before Pride (the aro flag isn’t in this pic, but it was there!). The church itself was not only accepting, but welcoming, hosting a sermon about universal love before the parade, passing out water during the parade, and opening their building for people who needed a break from the late-summer Texas heat.

We were even represented in the parade itself (twice!).

Along with cowboys. This is Texas, after all.

And Canadians. XD

Met some fantastic new friends - at least ten new aces in total, plus plenty of awesome non-ace people!! Including the even-more-incredible-in-real-life Asexual Pirate! (Thanks again for the button, ribbon, and photo, @aroaceinyourface!)

When I first discovered my asexuality, I wasn’t sure if I would ever have something like this. If I would ever be able to go to Pride and talk to gay and lesbian people, bi people, pan people, trans people, genderqueer and nonbinary people, straight allies, and yes, other asexual (and aromantic) people, and confidently say, “I’m ace” without hesitation or even a need for explanation. As far as I know, only one older gay couple had to ask what “asexuality” meant, and they were polite and respectful.

So … thank you to the aces and allies who have made this community a place where I can finally come out and show my pride in public.

(And thanks again for letting me borrow your cape, Ian!)

Client: Are you a Gmail expert?

Me: …Yes.

Client: How do I center this picture in my newsletter?

I showed him how to center align.

Client: Thanks so much!

Five minutes he needed me to show him again.

Honestly, it was more cute than hellish. Also, it’s always nice to be recognized as a “Gmail expert.”

#thankyoubones week: day 4 → 9 angela montenegro iconic quotes

Angela ❤️  She is such a blessing to Bones, honestly. She’s brought so much warmth and heart to this show, and I can’t ever imagine Bones without her. ‘You are the best of us Miss Montenegro’… her kind words, and loving, honest friendships with literally everyone on the show (most especially with Brennan) has always been one of the best things about her character. SHE was the first face we came to know, back in that airport, she got the honour of being the first main character to grace our screens with her charm and sassiness. To say that I’m gonna miss Angela Montenegro is an understatement, because, while I may not see much of myself in her, she’s also taught me so many things and changed my outlook on a lot of important matters. And really, who wouldn’t want to have an extremely loyal, fierce-loving best friend like her? :)
